Jill
Chris tackled her and saw that the bullet had just barely missed her and had only nicked the side of her face causing her to bleed. His heart was beating like crazy. "Claire...what were you doing?! How could you even think of doing that?!" She sobbed. "Steve...he's gone...Wesker killed him... he tried to protect me..."
He held his little sister in his arms. "Claire...I'm sorry about Steve but there's no way he would want you to take your own life. I don't know him that well but I know that! He would want you to keep fighting..."
She sniffed, "But I love him...and he's gone..."
Chris told her, "Claire...if he's back from the dead to begin with that means he has the virus. Remember what Wesker said to us back in the Antarctic? He told us he might come back and see you the way he did me. That means he has the virus still. So maybe...he's still alive or he will come back but we can' take him with us. Right now just let him rest..."
She hugged her brother. "I was wondering when you'd show up. The city's falling apart without you. I'm not sure how it's ever going to be the same again."
Jill knealt down and told her, "It probably won't but we have a chance to end this here. Whether your friend is alive or dead we have to do this for him. End this plague.
She wiped her tears away saying, "He was Grim...the one you were all looking for. He had a P30 device on the back of his neck. Kind of like the explosive collar he had on the back before when we were in prison together. I got it off of him but...Wesker did that to him the same as you."
Jill nodded, understanding. "Wesker likes to get other people to do his dirty work but he always betrays everybody in the end. We can put a stop to this infection We owe it to your friend and to everybody else out there that's at risk because of the virus. We can't let them win."
Just then, the elevator opened and Leon, Ada and Helena came out. Leon looked surprised at the corpse of Steve. "What happened...?" Chris approached Leon. "Wesker...if you didn't know already i should let you know now. He's alive and he's using my old partners body as a host for his own. I would think he did it just to mess with my head but he wasn't alive when Piers was my partner."
Ada raised her eyebrows. "Then it's Alex Wesker. Hes the one behind this."
Claire heard her say that. "Me and Steve fought him together too. He was tough."
Helena also weighed in saying, "I think...he might be responsible for Sherry's disappearance too. I mean who else would be capable of that? She can handle zombies and other B.O.W's that have no control but Alex Wesker still thinks like a person from what i've heard about him."
Sheva introduced herself to Helena, Leon and Ada. As did the rest who had never met one another before but most had at least heard of the other. It was hard to believe for Jill that they had all been in the city this long or at least she and the BSAA had,and had only just now run into Claire. She knew it had to be harder for Chris with her being his sister and each time he'd be on a mission have to worry. He might say he didn't worry for her that she can handle herself but she knew he didn't mean that all the way. It was in a brothers nature to worry for his baby sister.
Chris came back to Jill and Sheva with a look of distress. "They...just got word from Barry...and Barry got word from an old friend of Rebecca's...the United States government is planning on nuking this city if our comrades on the ground can't deal with this problem. They said 72 hours and I think we're down to less than that. Probably more like thirty hours left. The clock is ticking."
Helena told Chris something while jill was out of earshot.
Jill held her composure. "We have to lay countermeasures here then and get this place ready to blow up. We might not be able to stop this city from being destroyed but it's our mission to try. You may have gone a different road career wise but your goal was the same too. Saving lives stopping this epidemic. And even if allof us have to get out of here so we don't get caught in the blast what matters is that why try. We can at least slow the influx of them getting into Manhattan. There's survivors out there holding their own but somehow these things are distributed through the city."
Leon remarked with dread, "There's probaly Lepotistas here...like we encountered on the plane. They must have a hell of a lot of them down here if this lab is what's contributing to this city's rise in infection. If there's explosives we need enough to level this place three times over just to be sure. We don't want those things awake if they're not yet. It's bad enough dealing with a B.O.W. that released the C virus in gas on the streets but in an enclosed place like this we'd be screwed."
Chris sighed. "All right, we need to start setting up charges all over. I'm not sure if this will destroy the entire building or not. We'll have to give it enough time before we set off the charges to get everybody out of here and that includes Barry and the rest of Delta Team. Leon...can you get word to them upstairs that we might need help? See if he can spare a team mate or two to help us plant charges."
Leon nodded. "Sure thing but you'd better figure out where they're keeping the B.O.W's."
Chris agreed. "We'll split up and set up charges but if we're doing this let's get it done now."
They began to head off and they each went into different rooms. Jill saw what looked like a small office with a computer in it. She had found some rounds from the G36 luckily as there was some rifles laying around which she took the magazines from giving her an extra 90 rounds. She noticed another door to the side which she carefully opened the door, her Glok 18 equipped for any possible threat that might come through the door. They needed some new equipment. Her Genesis was fine but the headset was giving her trouble.
She heard a scream followed by several gunshots which made her raise her own handgun and a man wearing a lab coat staggered forward, a bite wound on his throat. He was Caucasian, very pal in skin color with dark hai and dark eyes, plus glasses with a tall and wiry frame. His hair was somewhat like Leon Kennedy's had been in the 90's from pictures Jill had seen even before meeting him since she knew Claire. He fell over his smoking .380 falling next to him. He looked up at her as she drew down on him. "Who...who are you? Why are you threatening me...?"
Jill coldly stated, "I'm with the BSAA. We're the good guys. You must be that OTHER guy."
The man groaned, "I didn't sign up for this...for any of this...i'm a scientist...for the United States government. We're supposed to be protecting our country...not helping destroy it..."
Jill told him, "I'm not going to argue with that but you do work in this facility which makes you a pawn of the Family. How can you try and deny responsibility? If your goal was to do research that would help people, the military or whoever, how does working with the organization ultimately responsible for the death of President Adams and the destruction of Tall Oaks? You seem more like terrorists out for yourselves."
He groaned, "You don't understand...this was an R&D facility...this was supposed to help our soldiers in the field. The military complex may be flawed..but the men and women in the service have saved lives...and no matter how much bad has been done it doesn't erase the good...I just wanted to save lives...the War On Terror...it';s a cluster fuck...we shouldn't have gone over there but...we can make the best out of a bad situation...that's what i was told..."
He coughed up blood, and Jill saw he had a stab wound too. She saw a pool of blood forming near the corner which was a blind spot for her. "And that?" The guy groaned. "This virus is out of control. I know my employers are up to no good...but they threatened my family...I had no choice. They told me that if I wanted to reverse the effects of what was going on down here, I had to produce more of these things so that they can test them better at their othe facility...in India..."
Jill asked him, "India? Why what's going on over there? I don't understand...the C virus already has a cure. The blood of Jake Muller..."
"I don't know...as far as I know about Muller's blood...and the cure the DSO made from it...Terra Save, BSAA, may use it but it only works on people who are infected but haven't turned yet...but they told me...Alex told me...I could help him find a cure...even for those who were already gone...a way to make these B.O.W.'s whether zombies...or J'avo...human again...
The coughed up more blood. There was no point in telling him to save his strength. He was going to be a zombie soon so she had to put him down. "Hell...we've been outsourcing jobs from every other company...why not Umbrella? Or what's left of it anyway...Neo Umbrella tried to fill the void of the old Umbrella but...Tricell...is run by The family and not by Neo Umbrella...so...they've outsourced...former Umbrella employees who lost their jobs in 2003...when Tricell was getting off the ground with the GPC...a lot of former employees of White Umbrella...we're talking US citizens who were willing to follow the work overseas...found work at the facilities all around the world. Europe wasn't fertile ground enough for Tricell except for Italy...the home of the queen bitch..."
Excella...He told her, "Africa...Asia...India...after the losses and the damage from Africa's facility, they were almost shut down.. and they would have been if the GPC and The Family's wealthiest members hadn't co-opted it. If you want to keep operating...well...you have to fall in line...I didn't want to stay doing this forever...I was looking to transfer to Alaska...get my family out of here...I guess I deserve this..."
Jill told him, "We're here to stop all of that. The Family...Ales Wesker..Excella or Alexia whatever she decided to be, Albert, we need to stop all of them. You don't have long. So for once take a stand and do the right thing. Tell me how we can stop all of this?"
"Go to my office...look for...a diary in my desk...here's the key," He handed it to her. "That will tell you about the facility in India...see...this...this outbreak here is just a distraction...maybe a sophisticated way to infect the US population...I donm't know...I guess we're all being played...? I think...it might be used to justify a war. I don't know anything else...it's all above my paygrade...I know about the countdown...for this city...whether or not this city gets nuked or not...India...is their bigger playing board...over a billion people...and they're in the Eastern hemisphere. The...outbreaks in China...it's being contained...by some miracle...that was the Family's plan before...attacking the most populated country in the world but you BSAA...you nipped it in the bud..."
Jill corrected him, "The ibfection in China is about 80% contained. There's still some left. There's millions of people there in Lanshiang so it's easy to miss some."
The guy looked down. "That...makes it worse...I'm telling you...they're planning another outbreak...in India...from India...on a global scale. I don't know how...I don't know when...just that it's soon...according to Alex...that was their plan. Their backup plan...in case Albert failed in Kijuju...to launch the Uroburos worldwide...or...I don't know if it was Albert's plan but it was Alex's for sure..."
Jill told him, "We're not going to let them destroy the world. Enough people have died because of what Umbrella and all the others that have come after them have done."
The guy was not looking well. "I hope you're right...I want you to succeed...both in stopping all of them...and in stopping this city from being destroyed...go back to my office...my diary..will give you the coordinates..."
She looked at him with concern even if only a little bit. "You're trying to do the right thing. Thanks for your help but you're infected. If I don't put you down, you'll possibly hurt others."
He told her, "I have a gun...I'll do it. It should be me. i don't want to die yet...and i want to help stop this as much as you do but...it's the price I have to pay no matter what in order to make things right here..."
Jill eyed him carefully. "There is a cure you know...to the C virus..."
He looked up at her weakly. "Maybe...maybe not. Either way it doesn't make a difference. Nobody's going to get to me in time to stop me from turning...if you don't mind.I';d prefer to be alone right now..."
She nodded. "I'll give you a minute," She needed to press on but she went back into the office at least long enough to get his diary. She unlocked the drawer and got it out sitting down in the chair to read.

Diary of Adam Peltier
Today was not much of a success. We've run tests on the subjects. The B.O.W's had some response to visual and audio stimulation, restrained of course. This has been studied for years and some of our colleagues who have worked with these creatures over the years have shared stories of their experience running tests on these creatures but I had never seen it for myself. There is some part of the brain reanimated by the virus but even in the event that something is still in there, each person, infected with the C virus, is just like those infected by the Tyrant virus, which I have reviewed countless files on. Whatever humanity resides in the brain is but a mere shadow of what it was.
Valentine turned the page.
The subject got free of its restraints and we had to terminate it. It's hard work and the morale can be very low at times but all the same we must proceed if we wish to make any headway in stopping this virus. I must confess I don't entirely trust our employers motives or the motives of our government who funds this kind of research for that matter. It seems as though these people wish to be able to start and stop viral epidemics whenever they feel the desire to. On one hand this could mean a very dark future for humanity if militaries would even consider using bio weapons in the theaters of war, that in which the consequences highly outweigh the advantages.
Still, if there is the possibility that we can develop a cure, even if the powers that be try and decide who can have access to said cure and when, I have enough faith in humanity that eventually, even in the event of chaos, the forces for justice would obtain the cure and be able to distribute it fairly.

I lost a good friend today. The zombies bit him today and help wasn't there to deal with the problem when the zombie got lose. My friend, Charles, a friend of mine for ten years, was bitten all because of the incompetence of security to get into the roof fast enough. I had to put the creature down myself with the glass from a shattered beaker. I'm sure I would have felt more terrible about it if my friend wasn't dying in my arms and didn't have to be shot himself as if he was nothing. Charles and I started working together ten years ago after Umbrella was shut down. He worked with them in Europe before he came here. I think...I need to go vomit...
August 25, 2013
I've been hearing news reports about something happening in Tall Oaks. A lot of people chalked it up to a nuclear melt down just like in Raccoon City but Charles confided in me when we worked together what really happened there so I know this is simply a cover up. I've never felt so disillusioned with the people I work for and even the people I work with. I've heard everything that has gone on in China and in Tall Oaks and no matter how much people try to conceal the truth it always has a way of getting out. As for myself, I spend too much time away from my family. Ella has talked about a possible divorce but I want to try and work it out for the sake of our children.
The only problem is I don't know how I will be able to spend more time. They want us to come up with a cure, and all eyes are on me. Yet when I leave to go home, the streets of Manhattan are busy as ever teeming with life. Everybody is so oblivious to what is going on just beneath their feet. I've received word that in the event that I come up with a cure, I might be asked to attend a visit in India with the people from Doctors Without Borders in order to distribute vaccinations.
I have heard that there already is a cure for the C virus. Some prodigal child from some derelict nation that should have been collapsed in the 80's. If this is the case and some third world peasant has achieved through his blood what I could not after countless hours of research, then why am I still here? I suppose it is for the money. Though we do not need it and if we wanted to leave tomorrow we very well could. Ella has wanted to leave this city for over a year now. I still worry about what I have heard about this miracle man, Jake Muller. Even if his blood is the key to the cure to this virus, to what degree does it work? Surely it only helps those who have not yet turned? What use is it then? Does the family here at The Empire Laboratories want me to come up with a cure that could heal even those already infected? I have been here too long...and I get the feeling i will not be alive for much longer if I stay here.
Already, this laboratory was first owned by Umbrella and was one of the few labs that was not shut down when the GPC made its ruling. It simply was under new ...and now...Empire is just an independent R&D research off the radar for the United States government, where military physicists former Umbrella employees and men and women from the CDC work alongside each other. They would have you believe that it is separate entities but as far as the Family is concerned they are all tied in together.
She read the notes further, finally seeing the coordinates to where in India this other facility was. She stuffed the diary in her pack. Just then she heard a gunshot and she went outside her gun ready, to see what it was. The man, Adam Peltier had just committed suicide.
She looked at the man and then at the diary knowing that there were probably more threats ahead besides the zombie he had just killed. "Shit..." She uttered. I need to let Chris and the others know about this facility...
Meanwhile...
Finally Alexia had some time to herself getting away from Albert. She entered the pass code and entered through the door. Ahead of her was the seemingly endless amount of bodies, very similar to the one from Africa. As a matter of fact, she recalled through her memory through Excella, speaking to Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar. The BSAA had seized the bodies and looked to revive them, those that were able to be. Some of the dormant had been asleep for too long. Typing in another pass code at a computer, she clicked on a male and a female specimen. All though the BSAA had tried to shut body farms like these down, they still existed and they would continue to.
The two bodies were brought forward. A Caucasian female with reddish hair, and a male of Eurasian descent. Despite the fact that they looked nothing like her or he who she was doing this for they would do just fine as they had similar enough DNA for this to work. She had two needles in hand. Alex or perhaps even Albert himself would try and kill her were they to discover she was down here and more so if Alex knew she was using the research he had stolen from Spencer in 2006 for her own motivation. She injected it into her own neck and then quickly into that of the young woman. She would try this on herself before even attempting it with the male specimen. Soon she collapsed and everything went black. She thought to herself, Alex's research was still rather risky and had plenty of failure...either this will work or I will die. Either way it is better than sharing a body with that co dependent succubus, Excella Gione.
When she came to, she was staring at the collapsed form of Excella Gione, the brunette woman unconscious., All though some parts of Alexia's featurs had started to manifest in the Italian woman, Excella's genes and possibly her mind had resisted that. They had battled for her mind and her body but now, Alexia had just achieved for herself what had already been done to her to bring her back. Now she was in a new body. She stepped out of the tank. She took the other syringe from the fallen Excella's hand. She then began to work on doing the same thing for the male. Just then, Excella, stood up. "What...what the hell are you doing...?"
Alexie told her, "You might be a pawn of that fool, Wesker but I have my own legacy to fulfill. Perhaps if I wads unaware of this technology which brought me back, I would have been inclined to stay loyal to him and be his new queen...the goddess to his god. But there are those more worthy of such power than made a mistake by salvaging too much research and too many samples of the virus in Antartica up to but not including those of my deceased family."
Excella stepped up to her. "I will not let you betray him! You may have succeeded in your little ego project but if you think you can betray a God you are mistaken! I still have my abilities! Your DNA merged with mine when you took over my body and like it or not,it left an imprint into me."
Alexia laughed haughtily. "Even when the man betrayed you and left you for dead you follow him around like a school girl. You my dear are pathetic! I would have respected you as a fellow heir and aristocratic prodigy but you are just too naive to survive. Rest assured darling, this new world that will be built from the ashes of the current one will not be ruled by the Wesker's but by the Ashford family! The Redfield's tried to drive us to extinction as if we were the peasants...the worker ants that were nothing instead of them...for this they will pay. I will not sit back as Albert tries to seize a destiny and revenge that is rightfully my own!"
Excella told her, "That imprint you left, I overheard Alex saying that all though my body rejected the Uroburos before, it would be able to now. So you can have your little T Veronica Virus. Uroboros is far more powerful and with the C virus to add to this, we will have no problem taking over."
"My family...founded Umbrella..this world is ours!" Alexia snarled. Excella removed her earrings readying to fight her. "None of that would have been possible without the Progenitor virus which is what Uroboros derives from. It's simply the Progenitor virus in its best strain. Without it there would be no G virus no T virus and no T Veronica virus! Albert said that perhaps I would have a place in this world at his side. Before, my genes could not handle it but now I can. You are the traitor not him."
Alexia chuckled, as the nude woman came forth to face the fully clothed woman. "You are willing to follow that imbecile into oblivion! No matter. Just remember, that I am still powerful and you have lost power since our separation."
Exella struck her in the face, drawing blood. Alexia smiled, wiping the blood from her lips. "It is my legacy..."
She threw it onto Excella and the blood turned to flames. The woman screamed and before she could do anything further, Alexia struck her in the face knocking her backwards and Excella stumbled falling over the platform. The drop was at least one hundred feet down below, perhaps much more not so unlike the one in Africa. Then again the farm in Africa it seemed was endless. Alexia smiled . "Good riddance...I shall seize my destiny whether the man of my dreams is with me to enjoy it at my side or not. But I will not be in the passengers seat I will be the driver. I do not need a man to control me. I...control...men..."
With that she injected the needle into the other comatose body. The two bodies she had selected were not only one of the few that were not just purposefully kept dormant or kept dormant in the same way that Jill was but these had no consciousness left. They were essentially brain dead and on life support. By injecting this, with the technology and research Alex had stolen, she could do what had been done for her, what had been done tobring back Albert Wesker via Piers Nivans. Now it was simply a matter of if it would work.
Finally after she did what she had come here to do, and staring at the body for what seemed an eternity, he stirred. He opened his eyes. "W...where...am..."
She put her hand on his cheek. "Don't worry my dear brother...you are with me...we can be together again..."
That's all for this chapter. So Chris, Jill and co. all only have a certain amount of time to save NYC before the nuclear strike potentially is launched if the BSAA is not able to do its job and that's a lot easier said than done because in such a large place it isn't just about shooting thousands if not millions of zombies you also have those who are not yet turned which would still be a lot of people. I need to go back and edit a few mistakes as far as when I first had Jake and Sherry end up at Rikers Island because I have some reviewer who are behind but are still reading just have not caught up yet but those of you who were waiting for this chapter don't need to worry about that error. Do you think they will be able to stop the nuking of New York City in time? And if so, how, especially with so many Lepotistas letting off the c virus? Do you think just destroying this particular lab as they are planning to will be good enough?
As for Alexia vs Excella, it's pretty obvious who she just brought back. Anyway, it might seem crazy the whole injection of minds into another body but that's basically what is happening in Resident Evil Revelations 2. I obviously couldn't have this story coincide with the game cause I hadn't played the game yet and by the time i had already I had played too much of it. So the other story I'm writing, A World Without Fear, (Check it out) will reference all the RE games as far as what happened plus Revelations 2. And if I don't manage to finish that other fic before Resident Evil 7 comes out then well, unlike this I will sort of edit the story to make it fit, or discontinue said story but have the chapters saved up so i can post them up again edited to fit the story. Idk when Resident Evil 7 is going to comne out anyway. So maybe if I try and not make this newer story as long as this one, which i figure may be good another twenty or twenty five chapters, I can easily maybe reach that goal. Plus I'm trying to find a job and get back in school.
So what do you think is gonna go down with India and do you think Steve is dead?
Stay tuned and find out but hey at least I cleared up that cliff hanger with Claire. So no I didn't have her kill herself. It would be hard for me to even do that. At least six cannon characters will die in this story so my question is, do you think it would be more devastating if Chris or Claire died? To those who answered me already well this is asking others that. Which characters would you want to live and who would you be devastated by if they died in general? I mean i already know who at least six of those deaths will be a few others I'm contemplating but only I know the outcome. I mean even if i do, though your imput still means a lot and I would like to know because there will be character death in this story, to add to the realism and brutal reality of war that you lose good people even if for a good cause, but that doesn't mean I'll necessarily kill the same characters off in my other story. Put it this way, some of the ones who may die in this story will probably live in the other story and those who will die in that story will likely live in this one.
Anyway sorry for my rambling if you actually read this and the story love and respect to you. Please R&R the longer the better. Till next time.
