Claire
They headed through the city. Claire told them she was okay to walk and was given her guns back. Chris looked at Steve and said, "I appreciate you watching after my sister..."
"Don't mention it. She's saved my ass a few times herself."
Chris stopped in his tracks and she looked back at him. "I remember you now...you're Steve from the island. You kept my sister safe...but I thought you were dead?"
"I was...but I got another chance. Steve said looking at him but then turning to Claire looking at her with a smile. "We all did,"
"Your memory's coming back, Chris., That;s good."
"Yeah...a lot of coma patients have memory loss. It can take a while to get it back. But your brain should be healing faster than a normal person. It's because of the virus."
Steve got out a first aid spray to use on Claire. Luckily she still had some in her pack. As he healed her wounds, she said, "As much as I want to get moving to this base, I'm not comfortable with going there just yet. Chris needs to remember everything if he's going to fight Wesker. We can't afford for anything to be a surprise to him."
"There may not be that much time. Wesker's letting the world destroy itself. And every day the virus spreads to more people. It's just like how before World War II, America funded Hitler but then during the war before we got involved, we supplied England. That's what Wesker is doing. On the surface he's presenting himself as a former BSAA member who was 'wounded' in the line of duty and left behind by Chris, a 'terrorist' and so he's advising the US military and the CIA on how to deal with BOW's they may encounter during combat."
Claire knew what he was saying was true. For these past three years, the world had been at war and China, India, the US and Russia had been at war with each other with China Russia and India against the United States and for Wesker to advise the US military on how to kill BOW's, something he and Alex were responsible for there being so many of, was laughable but that was part of the plan. Keep everybody deceived while he pretended to be Piers Nivans. Of course, the world now knew about BOW's as they were right outside their door. There was no longer any denying them or covering them up. And of course, ever since 2013, the truth about Raccoon City had been released but as bigger and worse outbreaks occurred, the destruction of a midwestern town in 1998 seemed insignificant as far as millennials were concerned because now every city was at risk. But with Raccoon it had all started.
Claire was a follower of history and she had loved it. She had worked as a librarian in the past before her Terra Save days. Now it seemed history wold repeat itself both in the sense of another world war, only this one more destructive than before. The United States had already lost 700,000 soldiers fighting abroad combined with the war at home fighting the ALF who were still trying to liberate their land, plus the viral havoc. It was heart breaking but so far as a result of the war and all the events from 2013 and on, 60 million lives had been lost already. A quarter of these had been in the Americas. The rest was mostly in Europe Asia and Africa but also the middle east since the US had also gone to invading them again, about 5 million people had been killed by the fighting. Most of Western Europe was supporting the US.
Of course, due to fighting with the ALF, the US had also invaded Central and South American countries. The coast guard and national guard was doing all of the domestic fighting along with police. Some of the governments in South America, and Central America allied with the US in order to stop what they deemed to b a terrorist group, the ALF which Carlos was now a part of. Governments of countries such as Panama, Brazil and Colombia were trying to hunt them down even while they had membership there too and much support among the people while countries such as Bolivia and Venezuela, were fighting against the US seeing their presence as imperialist. Some had been rumored to have allied with the Chinese though this was not confirmed.
In Africa and much of Asia, there was more of this with certain African and Asian states allying with China and Russia while others supported the US and Britain. Some countries in Africa, however, regardless of how weak their military was compared to the US, fought against them and the others not wanting to join in either super powers cause and instead wanted them all gone. Whether an African country was allied with the western powers or the eastern or neutral and hostile to all or even neutral and peaceful, they were suffering.
In Western Europe, most of them had sided with the US and while at the same time battling Russia, who was on a warpath against the US and their allies over the destruction of Edonia which they blamed the west for, Scotland and Ireland were the exceptions to the rule. They supported China in that they were enemies of the US and Britain, with the newest branch of the Irish Republican Army once again battling the English for Northern Ireland and it seemed that finally, for the first time in nearly a century, they might have a united Irish Republic and drive the English away. The same was true in Scotland as they succeeded from the United Kingdom declaring themselves an independent nation free of the crown. They had joined their fellow Celtic brothers of Erin in revolting against the Anglo nation that had subjugated both of them for at least a thousand years. The middle east of course, was now one giant battlefield as well with all of the surrounding countries launching a full scale invasion of Israel and Israel had only what allies they had from the Americans, Canada, and the European Union to stand in their way. They were putting up a fight defending Israel but now rather than before where certain states would be against Israel but mostly on a level of distrust, now every modern middle eastern country was ganging up on their long time enemy.
Claire was not certain just how bad the virus was in the middle east to top it all off.
But as Claire knew from history, the victor wrote history and it would not be good if Wesker won. She could only imagine just how much better of a chance they would all have if the United States, Russia, China, India, including the Dalit Brotherhood she'd heard reports of in the aftermath of the 2005 attacks that had robbed Rani of her natural parents, as well as the Society Of Blades and the Indigenous American factions, were to all unite against Wesker and the family but most could only see what was in front of them and not the bigger picture. It was a shame a tragedy even but Claire could not condemn them for it. Most of the world had been deceived and lied to about who the real enemy was and it was hard to question it when the enemy you were told to fight is shooting at you. Even still, Wesker was the bigger problem.
Even if America had wronged so many countries in its existence, even if it had been in constant wars almost the entire time it had existed in its 240 years, there was no reason why innocent Americans, just like innocent people from India or China or Russia or Europe or Africa needed to suffer for past atrocities. And even if there was wars that needed to be fought, even if groups like the Dalit Brotherhood and the ALF had every right to be angry with their respective countries, now was not the time for it. Politics could be resolved later. But this was about the survival of humanity., Humanity faced extinction and just as she knew that the victor writes history, in Wesker's case, she doubted that there would be anybody left to observe any history he wrote.
Maybe Wesker did have a plan for the world and maybe he really did in his mind believe that he could change the world for the better but the plan he'd had in Africa would have just destroyed the world and very few would have survived. Most would be non-sentient BOW's with a few being sentients like him but psychotic. She and Chris had discussed the insanity of Wesker's logic at great lengths before and had found it laughable that a man so concerned with how illogical humans are and how much they were willing to destroy each other and thus should evolve, the idea that a virus that would turn most of the world into mindless cannibals or tyrants was the solution showed that either Wesker was completely insane as they had thought since 98' or maybe he really hadn't thought his plan out very well.
She stopped and looked at Chris, noticing he had tears down his cheeks. "Chris, are you okay?" She asked. "It's just that...you're telling me so much about my life from before and I only remember so much of it. You're telling me I'm in my early forties and all I can remember is the first twenty five years...this doesn't make any sense. I have a kid and it's from a woman I don't even remember. And I don't know who Piers is either. And I'm hearing all of this about how I was a hero who killed Wesker and he's not even gone...and even if that was true, I'm not who I used to be."
She put a hand on his shoulder. "That's not true. You're already starting to remember who you are. You just need more time. You'll know who you are eventually."
Steve told her, "We can;t risk bringing him against Wesker right now. He doesn't recognize a lot of the people in his life. If he doesn't recognize Piers that's bad for him and all of us. He can't recognize the other woman in his life besides you and Jill. If Wesker knew what was going on right now, we'd be screwed."
Chris looked down. "Don't say that," Claire stated. "Why? I was agreeing with what you said earlier. You were right."
"No. I wasn't. He's getting better. He remembered you and he just woke up today. He remembered three months further than he did when he first came out of his coma. He just needs to get his memory back."
"Yeah but his trauma doesn't make any sense. There's three kinds of trauma. There was a guy in our cell block who got hit pretty bad by another inmate and he lost his memory from before the injury. There's also people that can't remember anything after an injury and there's people who get it from a psychological trauma but this isn't any of those."
"Then we have to keep him out of harms way until he gets better. Even now, he can take care of himself."
Josh
He looked at the unconscious former government agent and then turned to Jill. "We don't have time to babysit. We need to be on our way north. If Ada Wong is on her way there to contront Wesker we should be too and we can put an end to this."
Manjindir appeared. "I'm afraid we can't have you leaving just yet. The Americans have already taken three-fourths of the city. The military is blocking off the eastern section of the city and they won't let any civilians leave on suspicion they might be guerillas. It's insane, these people they want to detain people or shoot them when there's a war to fight."
"It's insane that they think there is a war to fight when there is a global pandemic," Josh replies. Manmeat stepped up to him. "You would be fighting for your own country to keep it safe if you were back where you are from I am sure. These soldiers are just young patriots who don't see what is going on."
Just then the former Indian BSAA agent female, Majala appeared. "Manjindir. Manmeat, we found where some of the terrorists are. They're three blocks to the south. Some of our friends and the police have them pinned down. One f the policemen swore he saw their leader. Chinar Raya been taking shots at American soldiers and ours. It's insane. They started the viral outbreak but they are killing the infected to protect their men. They know it is a threat and yet they created it! If they are so willing to use it they should be willing to trust their own men around them. They don't even protect the people that they put at risk by unleashing this virus!"
Manjindir asked her "Where have you been?" She told him, "I have been trying to find the others. I'd heard that there were some of us pinned down and that's where I found them."
Manmeat told her, "If you are expecting terrorists to make sense or even stick to their own twisted ideology you are mistaken. But we will help you. "
Jill stated, "What makes you think we're helping you? We did what you asked."
Manjindir explained, "Yes but you are American. The government will suspect you of being CIA. The army will try and keep you from getting past their checkpoint out the soldiers might show some appreciation and be willing to hear our explanation if we are to bring them the corpse of the man responsible. Otherwise, they will think you are just westerners, black market arms dealers who sold the Dalit Brotherhood bioweapons to use against the people of India. It wouldn't be the first time the United States supported rebel factions and regimes in other countries when it suited their interests."
"So who is this guy anyway?" Asked Jill. "Why didn't the BSAA ever have any Intel on him back around 2006?"
"At the time he had not yet been radicalized. He lost his family in the outbreak here in 2005. He was only twelve or so at the time. Maybe thirteen. He had seen the atrocities society did on his community. He wanted to fight back but he went too far."
Jill sighed. "Fine. We will but after that we need to be on our way."
"That's not a problem," Majala said. "You see, Manmeat this is the way we find help. Not by torture but doing proper investigation."
Leon sat up. He was groggy. "What...what happened?" Jill smirked. "Ada thought you could use some rest. It looks like you needed it."
He sat up. "Damn it! Ada's going off by herself without me. It's not safe. She's on her way to the base. I have to follow her. I can't let her go by herself."
"Leon, you just woke up. You don't have any idea what direction she's taking. It's not safe."
"This isn't my first trek through hostile territory. I was in South America, Spain, Eastern Europe, and China. I may not know what direction she's taking but I know where she's going to be. I'm sorry, Jill. I know Claire and Sherry and Sheva are probably going to head that way soon, too. I'll see you all there."
Josh offered his hand to shake and Leon did. Jill gave him a hug and said, "You just keep yourself safe too. Both of you stay safe. Don't do anything hasty. Just find her and hold her back. Wait for the reinforcements, okay? It won't just be Wesker. Excella will be there too. And Jake. We're going to have to be prepared to deal with fallout between him and Sherry."
"Sherr's family. I won't let any harm come to her if I can help it. Good luck. And believe me, I know. Ada might know all of Wesker's tricks but you have the mos reason to kill him. As much as I hate the bastard and want him dead myself it should be you or Sheva. Or Claire."
"That's the plan but in case one of us fails to it's going to be up to whoever is still standing."
He said, "God willing, that'll be all ofus," Hew shook hands with the Indian agents as well even Manmeat. "For what it's worth, you're quite a fine agent. I know you sympathized with that man. It couldn't have been easy to agree to go after him or to have us do what we had to. So,metimes we have to do brutal things...bad things to do the right thing. You understand?"
"Now better than before. Good luck at getting your man,"
"Good luck at getting your girl,"
With that, Leon Kennedy began to go off on his own in search of transport to go north and look for Ada along the way.
They began to follow her. She had some kind of AK variant with her. She looked more like some kind of guerilla fighter herself than an actual BSAA agent but then Wesker and the Family had made outlaws out of all of them.
They could hear gunfire up ahead of them. There was five BSAA agents from the Indian sub branch of the Far East branch. The first was a man of Bengali descent with a thick black beard brown skin and short hair in a crew cut. He wore a regular white t shirt but his pants were still BSAA fatigues. Majala introduced him as Banit. He stood five foot nine. There was another woman a dark skinned woman with semi Asiatic features. She had a dot on her head and her blouse was black and she wore blue jeans. Her name was Diya. She stood at five foot five.
A third was a man who looked to be of Dravidian descent with straight jet black hair. He wore a tradition Indian male tunic. He had a black turban and dark brown eyes. He had been a sniper expert before. His name was Wadee, A fourth was a young man of about twenty-five named Raz. He looked to look at least partially white a mix of Indian and British descent. The fifth was a bald man with skin nearly as dark as Josh. He had a mustache but no beard and stood six foot four. His name was Warsi.
They got to cover behind the ruins of a building that had been shelled pretty bad by mortars from both sides. "How are you holding up? How many are there?"
Banit replied, "We've taken down ten of them so they're down to thirty but they just won't give up! I don't understand why they want to protect that factory so badly! The military took anything of use out of there a year ago!"
They spotted a rebel with an AK-74 who aimed firing at Diya. She got to cover and Raz and Warsi returned fire shredding the DB guerilla with automatic rounds. Another appeared throwing some kind of explosive towads them. "Take cover!" Screamed Josh. The explosive went off and Wadee took some og the shrapnel from it. Majala, Manmeat and Manjidir returned fire and the man was hit with automatic rounds in the chest stomach and head.
Three rebels came out firing at them and they hit the already wounded ex BSAA agent and he took six rounds in the chest. "Wadee!" Screamed Majala. She fired hitting the closest Dhalit rebel in the face hitting her with five rounds. She hit the second in the stomach and the left side of his ribs. Jill aimed her Beretta at the third before he could fire at Josh. She let off five rounds hitting the man in the chest. A female wearing a bright red sari and she carried an RPG letting it off at them. They tried to get to cover. Diya took some sharpnel in the left leg and right thigh. She bled out intensely. Josh aimed his Assault Rifle firing in a crouched position and he saw that he hit her with at least four rounds. The woman fell and she seemingly crawled out of sight but he couldn't tell if this was a mortal wound. Josh saw that the blast had hit Banit worse. His left arm had been blown off.
Majala grabbed an RPG and fired into the factory expecting to hit at least a few. They did indeed hear some screams following the blast The Dalit Brotherhood returned fire and Josh got to cover behind a large block of destroyed concrete rubble. Josh turned to see a round hit Warsi as well. It had been a sniper rifle Diya had bled to death.
Manmeat, Manjindir and Majala each threw a frag into the factory with Manjindir running across the street to toss his in after the first two had already gone off. He got to cover behind the wall of the facotory. Raz ran over to the factory and Majala shouted in Hindi for him to come back. He snuck a look inside and rounds were fired at them which barely missed. "There's only six of them left!" Yelled Raz. Majala and Manmeat ran over to the other side.
Jill turned to Josh. "We should try and find another way around. They're focusing their fire on them. Let's try and flank them," Josh nodded. "Right."
Raz reloaded his Rifle and yelled, "This is for all the innocents you killed!" He charged in firin. Manmeat and Manjindir cursed at him for being so hasty. Josh gave Jill a boost up onto one of the hanging pipes to get onto the second floor. Sh helped hi,m up as he jumped up. They could still see the muzzles flashes. Raz was yelling in his language as he fired at the terrorist faction. Josh looked from above seeing that Raz had taken down three Dalit tangos before the other two gunned him down. They were then promptly finished off by Manjindir and his partner. "Where is the last one?" Josh asked aloud. Manjindir got down beside Raz's body but it was nio use. He had been shot sixteen times.
They spotted a dark skinned man as dark as Josh with curly hair. He wore a brown and white striped t shirt and brown jeans. He held a bloody knife and next to him was a man with light pale brown skin who was screaming in pain but gagged. Josh looked with disgust as he saw what was happening. He had cut the man's eyes oiut. They were both blue eyes. He had surgically implanted them in the body of a dark skinned old man who lay on a cot. But Josh could tell the old man had been dead. "Drop the knife," Jill ordered.
The man turned to them speaking with a thick accent. "It's for my uncle...you know...in 2005...the attack? They killed all of his sons. Because they were Dalit. Untouchable. Or no. The monsters killed him because of the virus they unleashed in our district...he did not look like one of the civilized people. He was alower caste. So they consider him, my cousins, me, less than human. They punished the terrorists from the Societyo Of Blades. But not all of the men who helped them. Even when there was evidence...they let him go because he was Brahman. Highest caste..." He grabbed the wounded man by the face scratching his cheek.
"Why did you staple his eyes into your uncle? He's dead. He can't use them."
"My uncle...blinded in attack...there was an explosion just like the one this year...took his eyes. But even a man without eyes feels pain...of the loss of his descendents. To know that they consider his children...insects...these eyes are for his new body. When he enters the afterlife..."
Manjindir, Manmeet and Majala acended the still intact stairs. They aimed at him but Josh beckoned for them to stay where they are and not to fire. "If they've done such wrong to you, then why would you give one of their eyes to your uncle? Listen to me. What the British did in West Africa is the same as what the Brahman has done to you You should take pride in who you are. Not who they tell you to be."
Jill looked at Josh and seemed to realize it was better that he was to talk to the man than her. "This is in case the Gods are right and we are cursed. My uncle was a good man. When my parents died, he took care of my cousins and me. He told us to not hate the higher castes. He gave them respect when they gave him none...but in case these evil people and their religion are right, there is no reason he should not go to a better life. And eventually to enligtenment. Me...it's too late for me. I could not handle what they would do to me my entire life if I let them...so I fought back."
Josh told him, "My parents were in the Nigerian civil war. They fought against other tribes. They same people buyt different tribes. We were supposed to be a united country but the British overlooked too many things. They played us off against each other as they left. They wanted to fight so we could al have respect and if we couldn't get respect we should have our own country. But innocent people got killed. Just like you are doing here, we killed our own countrymen. My parents hoped I would be a revolutionary. To free Africa not only from neo colonial rule and maybe I might one daybut not at the expense of innocents. And not by using the virus that creates these things. I know you know what I'm talking about. And I don't believe you are the leader of the Dalit Brotherhood. The Dalit Brotherhood leader is older,"
"He was. But the military killed him today. Before the Americans even got anywhere else but the Amadan Islands. He died a hero for our cause...ever since the 1970's he would not bow and they assasinated him for it. He went out fighting today. Even though my uncle would not stand up for himself, he would stand up for my uncle. When the accident happened and my uncle lost his eyesight, he wasn't able to continue his job...even lowly a job as he had. I tried to help him...I was the omly one left. He saw me as his last son...and our leader helped keep us fed. When I was old enough I took up arms...now...i am de-facto leader..."
Jill noticed he picked up the eyes of his uncle. "Why do you have those?" He told her, "He will have to go to the afterlife as a blind man...let him have the eyes of one off the untouchables..."
Majala stepped up. "This won't solve anything. His eyes are already missing so he will go to the next life blind. There is no need to add insult to injury. But you should at least let us get him to a dovtor."
He looked at her with a sneer. "You are only one caste abovew me. They look upon you with disgust...this man..taught the society of blades how to use weapons. I have never seenm anyone so evill Him and his men have fought us in war. And now today, he will meet his fate..."
"We can't let yoiu do that. It's better if you let us take you in. You are your uncle's last son. Why shouldf his line die off with you?"
The man sneered. "You will never let me out of prison if I surrender to you. Finding a wife is out of the question. Our family will be extinct as they wanted us to be. I will die as a fighter. Just like the first of my kind to fight the Aryan invaders. They hate us because we resisted them thousands of years before and they hate us now. They hate us whether we are peaceful or war like. If it's all the same I will be war like."
"It won't solve anything," Manjindir pleaded. "These creatures you helped create are going to destroy both Dalit and the higher castes. A virus does not discriminate. It didn't in the first attack and it won't now. But now the whiole world will be like this if you ad me do not stop this. There is no reincarnation if all of the living things are xtinct. And I do not know about you but I hope to the Gods I don't become one of these things. Even if there is only one life, I'd rather this be my only life than to live again as one of these things."
The terrorist sighed. "Let me finish my ritual. Then I will come with you peacefuly..."
Josh told him, "Just answer one question. Where did you get this virus? To use on the city. We need to know. That's what we're here for."
Chinar answered him. "A woman. Blonde hair. Blue eyes. Fair skin. Aristocrat. She had a man with her. I would swear they were brother and sister but they carried themselves like they were lovers. But they gave me this..."He pulled out a viral of a maroon colored liquid. "They did not say what it was. They said the virus they gave me, with the blue gas and the injections was the C Virus. This, they said was the blood of the Gods...to use only in a life or death situation."
Josh told im, "We will debrief you as soon as we can. We're going north. You will come with us..."
They lowered their guns and the m,an lit the cot with his uncle on fire and soon set him on fire. He was cremating him and he prayed in Hindi. He then grabbed the knife he had used to cut the man's eyes out and turned to the wounded sooldier. "And now you..." He slit the man's throat. Manmeat and Majala cried out, "Stop! Drop the knife!"
Manmeat fired hitting the man in the left side of the back up to the center of his back to the left ofhis spine and all the way to his left shoulder blade. The scrawny man grabbed something off the table, "Hold your fire!" Jill barked at the East Indian agent. The man injected himself with the needle. T agent fired into him more but the transformation was already statrting. "You idiot! He would have come in peacefully!"
"The next life...is not soon enough for me...it can't...be soon enough for...justice..."
Manjindir came up to him. "What justice?"
"There are millions of Gods...I must become part of the Godhead...a God myself...the highest of any caste..."
He began to transform and his skin turned blue. His head formed a third eye. His skin became covered with ash. His hair went from very curly to straight and matted. He roared with anger. Jill fired her M4A1 at him letting and Josh opened up with AK-12 hitting him in the face. He hit the thing with twenty rounds while Jill got him with twenty five. Manmeat, Manjala and Manjindir all fired at him too.
They lobbed the last of their grenades at them. The blast took chunks out of the thing. The creature jumped and landed out at the bottom floor. He went down to the street. He had increased in height as well. He approached a statue of the god Shiva. He smashed into it and seized what looked like a trident. In fact, it was a trident. It had been made from different material than the statue itself. It was a steel trident. He grabbed the weapon from the destroyed statue. He came towards them chanting in Hindi. "hak se maharoom aur ganda prthvee se maara jaega. aatmagyaan ke nae yug mein kisee bhee phoos ka kharch vahan nahin kar sakate."
Manmeat got in front of him. "You're not Shiva. You're not a reincarnation. You're just a mutated abomination."
He fired the last remaining rounds of the Assault Rifle trying to aim at the things eyes. It threw its trident at him. He tried to dodge it but one of the three pikes did jam into his leg. He cried out as it went through flesh and bone. He roared with pain. Manjindir and Majala were opening fire with the new Assault Rifles. Josh aimed his M98B at him. Jill got to Manmeat and he groaned with pain. "You have to get this out of me..."
She knew it would worsen the bleeding but right now that was a risk they had to take. Jill pulled it out with all her strength. Blood gushed from the wound and he limped. "Fuck...this isn't gonna work..I can't walk..."
The tyrant grabbed the trident again and Jill, though she knew she was capable of this, Manmeat was still shocked when she picked him up carrying him. She put the wounded man over her shoulder and tried to run around to evade the monster and she fired her Handgun with a free hand landing nine shots in the thing's abdomen but all though it left holes in it, this barely did any damage if any at all.
The Indian man screamed as she carried him on her back and she said, "Just hold on!"
Josh fired the Sniper Rifle again He hit the thing with two rounds in the chest and he tried to aim one for its third eye. He instead hit it in the right eye. He fired three more rounds while Manjindir and Majala did all they could to try and stop it with Assault Rifle fire. Jill set Manmeat down and got her medical kit out trying to wrap his leg up. She kept as much pressure on it as she could using a first aid spray. "You're going to need sugery but this is the best I can do for now. You have to stay off of it."
She propped his leg up with the rest of the knapsack and made sure his leg was higher than his heart. "I understimated you...all of you..."The man said, his glasses having been cracked, were hanging off his face. "Our two countries are at war. But we're BSAA. We are not. Countries and borders should not matter to us...I was a student...me and Manjindir both were in your country as kids. Despite being Hindu, it was after 9/11...we faced discrimination for it. Manjindir always tried to see the best in people and I saw the worst...I apologize...and you did good with that boy from before..."
"Just hang on. You're coming with us. But we can't have you helping us on a wounded leg. Even if they have to amputate, that's better than dying."
The man chuckled stating, "You sure are good at helping a man feel optimistic...for what it's worth, despite how angry I was at Americans for all these years, I still respect you and Chris Redfield. Even if he doesn't wake up, and I pray he does, you can still stop this. If Redfield i gone, it's up to you. You are the face of this resistance."
"I'm not ready for that..."
He leaned in and told her, "You don't have a choice. It's you or nobody. The others like Leon are good but he was willing to go after a woman at the drop of a hat. He's more fit to be a loner than a team player..."
She stood up and said, "I'll do my best. Just keep that leg elevated. I'll be back."
She went to rejoin the fight. Josh had to reload his Sniper Rifle and he managed to barely evade a throw of the trident as the creature threw it at his head. Josh had ducked under it. Jill fired the M4A, unwilling to give up. Josh suddenly found his back was ablaze and he noticed that the third eye had glowed red and after this the other two eyes had. Josh rolled around on the ground to try and put it out and Manjindir ripped his own shirt off to try and smother the flames. Luckily, the BSAA fatigues and armor Josh had still insisted on wearing even though the BSAA had been outlawed and disbanded, had somewhat protected him from too much damage.
Chanar then threw the trident at Manmeat despite him already being down. It impaled the man and went through his chet and out his back. Blood poured from his mouth and Manjindir cried out at the sight of his friend being cut down. Blood poured in a seemingly endless current from the Far Eastern BSAA agent's mouth as well as his ghastly wounds.
Chanar's eye flashed again and the trident soon became ablaze and the agent shreiked like a poor soul being tormednted in hell as his body both on the inside and outside became ablaze his hair, his skin burning. In a flash of speed it ripped the trident from his body and this killed him instantly and his screams were silenced by the sound and smell of his burning flesh.
Manjindir fired angrily at him but the thing turned its attention to him now. Josh got to his feet and told Jill, "Buy me some time..."
She did as he asked. She fired her Handgun taking out its other eye but the third still remained. She ran up to it and delivered a series of punches and kicks to the chest and stomach and face. She ran up its chest and gave it a kick to the side of the head. To her surprise, she was strong enough to knock it off its feet. It flashed its eyes at her and she was ablaze midair and she kicked him in the side of the face, her boot in flames and she left a scorching foot prink in the things cheek and it burned through the flesh there. Josh fired a shot and hit it in the eye. It bled intenesely but didn't seem to stop. Jill rolled the flames off of herself on the ground more easily than a normal human woman would have been able to.
It still kicked her in the back sending her rolling over but she got to her feet. Her own skin was burned the left side of her face. Josh was taken aback by the sight of his friend but he saw through the scope that even her skin was starting to heal, just slow. However, much faster than any human. He fired another shot into the thing's eye hoping to disable it. He fired the rest of the ten round magazine into its forehead and he saw chunks of brain matter rexit its skull from other parts of the thing'ds head.
He ran up it and hit it in the face with the butt of the rifle, one, two three, four times. Jill got to her feet and grabbed the thing by the forehead, cutting its eye out with her knife. She hacked and hacked away at it but just like a regular eyeball with a piece of tendon hanging from it she managed to get it out. It screamed and staggered, now truly blind because she had taken out its third eye which in Hinduism and Buddhism meant the mind. Jill and Josh got clear as they saw that Manjindir and Majala had both retrieved the RPG's from earlier. They fired upon the creature. The blast destroyed its body obliterating it.
They all took a moment to breathe as they stared at it. "So much for Shiva..."
Majala came up to them saying, "Unfortunatley, he is just a vesel. Our belief in the real God, Shiva is a complicated one. We see him in ways like the Judeo Christian God. He is a God of both creation and destruction. The belief that you can'yt have creation without destruction. We believe he once flooded the earth too."
"Why are you telling us this?" Josh asked her. "Why is this reelevant?"
"We only destroyed the body but you cannot destroy Shiva. Whether or not he was Shiva, all things of destruction come from Him. As well as creation. Shiva the true God cannot be destroyed because he was not born. He is energy itself. The fourth level of consciousness. Where meditation is. Beyond the state of being awake, dreaming or asleep."
"So what...Wesker is Shiva?"
"In a manner of speaking, yes. He sees himself as a God. He wishes to change the world through forced evolution. He wants to recreate it in his has a God complex. An ego. He sees himself as just as powerful as Yahweh or Zeus or Shiva. But none is more powerful than Shiva. He will always be around. Wesker is mortal."
"That's what we thought," Josh began. "When we thought we killed him in Africa."
"Are you saying Albert Wesker is the God that you hold highest? Well if this is all part of his plan then why are you even fighting against him?" Jill asked. "No no no my friend, you misunderstand. He is not Shiva he just thinks he is. And for one to act like he has the will of the Gods is wrong. He lacks the coprehension of a God. It's up to you two to stop him. And I must admit, we were a bit dishonest about our intentions. We needed your help so we said you wouldn't be able to leave without helping. But there is a way around the checkpoint. If that checkpoint is still even around. The Americans have taken most of the city."
"You lied to us?!" Joish cried through gritted teeth. Jill put a hand on his shoulder. "It's all right. You all helped us in your own way too. And you're helping us now by telling us how to get out of here. What about him? Will he be all right?" Jill asked. Majala sighed. "I will take care of him." She promised. "But Manmeat was his partner andbest friend since elementary school. It will take some time to heal. I wish the two of you good luck on your journey. May the Gods be with you."
She gave Jill a hug and then Josh one which surprised him. Manjindir, who was in tears also gave Jill a hug. "Be sure to get rid of Wesker for us. We're going to stay here and deal with the infected. Whether this city is under American or Indian control we still ave a duty to protect the people from the infected, and the war if we can to the bet of our abilities. Thank you for helping us."
Josh shook Manjindir's hand. "Your way of getting our help wasn't right but your intentions were. If you'd grown upwhere I had you would have made a great warrior there too," The man smiled.
With that, Jill and Josh began to head off after Majala told them of the route that they could take out of the city.
They began to walk away and Jill said, "We gotta find a car, truck anything."
Josh agreed but stated, "Yes but it's risky to try and take a humvee from one of these soldiers. They're on edge and there's a battle going on."
They looked back seeing the battle still raging in other parts of the city. The Americans were winning but casualties werer still mounting up on both sides. Just then, Jill spotted a heicopter landing. "That's our ride out. Less guarded. Whoever is in it, they don't need it as much as we do."
Josh and Jill began to run forward. As they ran he asked her, "How are your wounds?"
"I'll be fine. It';s already almost better. We need to get up north. I heard some radio transmission earlier and they're having a battle over in New Dehli. Chris is in danger."
They spotted the area where the helicopter landed. They got out of the helicopter and Josh spotted a male and a female. They both aimed their Assault Rifles at the two of them. "Get your hands up! We're commandeering this vehicle!" Yelled Josh. The male stepped into the moonlight. "Wesker!" Jill growled. "Ahhh...Jillian...such a fancy to see you here. It seems fate has brought you here to me. Just the woman I wanted to see."
"I've been waiting to kill you too, Wesker. Ever since you had your son kill Chris. Where is that son of a bitch?" Albert sneered. "That's not your concern. Jacob has a task of his own far away from this place. For you, I have returned but I'm afraid we have no further use for your partner. I must say, Agent Stone, your presense has become quite a nusense."
"Wesker, you're just another terrorist parasite just like Ricardo Irving. It's time we put an end to you."
Excella stepped out with a sneer. "You think you have a chance?
Josh noticed there was another person in the helicopter. Wesker turned to the person in the helicopter. "Stay in there, my a matter of fact, we're going to play a little game of hide and seek. I want you to close your eyes, keep on the head phones and count to 1000."
Josh turned to Jill, "They have a child in the chopper."
Excella stepped forward with a smirk. "If I were you, I would worry about my own children, Joshua..."
She pulled out a PDA. "Boys, show him..."
She tossed him the PDA and he took one hand off his Rifle and caught it. He saw a group of armed men carrying out a screaming African woman and three children. Two girls and a boy.
"NO! Fola! Ife! Enofe! Diola!" He shouted. His son was crying out to him, "Papa!"
"Dike! Kedu ihe na-eme?" The Nigerian woman, Fola, of Yoruba descent asked.
(Dike, what's happening?)
All though he was Igbo and she was Yoruba and there had been tribal differences in the past they were both Nigerian both black Africans. Nothing would change that. Plus she cared about the future of their country as much as she did and s she too had learned to speak his language as he had hers. "Fola, dị nnọọ ike n'ihi na m! M na-aga na-abịa ma na-gị ka anya dị ka m nwere ike!"
(Fola, just be strong for me! I'm going to come and get you as soon as I can!)
Excella then smiled and told the African men, whlo Josh saw had glowing eyes and were clearly infected, "Tufuo ha niile."
(Get rid of them all)
The men lined the woman and children up and began cutting them down with machetes. Josh dropped to his knees in terror as he saw what happened. Jill contemplated shooting but she could see there was a child in the helicopter and didn't want to risk hitting the kid. Josh broke down in tears.
Just then, Excella snapped her fingers and the heads of the African carriers who had just massacred Josh Stone's families all exploded as though they had been shot in the head even though they hadn't.
Wesker stepped up and said, "I can see Agent Stone has enjoyed his family reunion. Now, then, what say we get on with ours, eh Jillian?"
"You're not my family you sadistic piece of shit. Chris is my family. Sheva is my family. Josh is my family. Claire is my family. Not you."
Excella taunted, "You can't even seek revenge on the men who killed your family. How does it feel, Agent Stone? To know that people like me and Albert can butcher as many people as we want in your hometown or in Kijuju because nobody would care?"
Josh stood up with his Rifle readied. "Those were just. puppets for you. You are the puppet master. I'll get my vengeance on you."
He fired letting a storm of rounds hit Excella in the chest and the stomach. Her white dress bled excessivley and she chuckled. "Do you really think an insignificant SOU agent can destroy me? I have the virus. The same as Albert. He is a God and I am a goddess."
The little girl came out of the chopper. "Ready or not here I..."
Jill stared at her as she looked so familiar. She had her own features and some of Chris's. "Jill. I would like you to meet our daughter. Sarah Valentine."
"What...how..."
"When you were under my care. Due to the P30 device made it so you were unable to recall but yes. Before you and me and Excella engaged in coital relations in Africa, we had done this before. You were pregnant after your time in a chrorogenic state. and so for nine months more you were incapacitated. For the time that I had you doing my bidding I took care of our child. In secret. With Excella. You were not yet ready to see the new world we would create. After we would have changed the world from Africa, I would have taken the blinders off. You see, she and Jake are brother and sister. Much like Chris and Claire."
"You...you poisoned this little child into thinking you're a human being? A father? Somebody that loves her? You don't know what love is, Wesker. And if you do, you have a shallow definition of it because you don't love anybody besides yourself."
"Daddy...what's a P30?"
Albert got down besides her. "Your mother had an accident before you were born. P30 was medicine I gave her so that she would be able to recover."
Jill looked at the enemy and snarled, "You're already lying to her! If our daughter is ever going to have a future, she has to get as far away from you as possible."
Albert smirked, "Won't you go say hello to your mother?" The little girl approached her. "Mom...? I made you this..."
She handed her a picture of the two of them. It was a pretty good drawing. Jill had her blonde hair and was in her battle suit. The two were flying kites t a park. This was all very overwhelming for her. Her eyes teared up. Jill had no words and she said, "i never knew...I'm so sorry..." She hugged her and she asked, "Mommy, why are you crying?"
Jill smiled. "They're tears of happiness...I never though I could have a child. Or that I did..."
"So we can all be together, now?"
Albert stood saying, "Sarah, come here."
Jill told her, "No...stay away from him. Trust me...your daddy is not a good man..."
Albert held his hand out and she came to him. "I don't need a P30 to get my daughter's love. Me and Sarah were playing a game of hide and seek. And you're it...if you want your daughter, you'll have to come find us. Both of us."
He took her in his arms and started to run off. Jill gritted her teeth and she said, "Josh, I've got to go after them..."
He nodded. "I know...you are a parent too...congratulations...I need to tell you something before we go. In case I don't see you again. A favor I need from you. A message to Sheva."
Jill nodded, "Sure. If it's quick."
He told her in her ears. She looked at him her blue eyes widened. "You're sure about that? It could be a risk for her to go back out there."
"I'm sure...what I've seen here today broke me in half...but it's the only bit of hope I have left...I love my family...I've been away from them at times having to do my job but I always tried to be around as much as I could. I always tried to let them know I loved them...and even as much as I did...it still felt like it wasn't enough."
Jill gave him a tight hug and she said, "It is. And I'll do everything I can. Just put her down and come after us, okay? Then you'll get a chance to see them again..."
"I'll do what I can...but I can't promise anything..."
Jill ran after Wesker in the direction he had seen them go. She saw them at a distance and he and his daughter moved ahead faster in a flash of speed as he went forward. Josh turned back to the Italian aristocrat. "You shouldn't have done that," He growled at her. "Now I have nothing to live for. There's nothing more dangerous than a man who has nothing to live for."
He fired his Rifle into her. He soon had to reload and all though she bled, she was not fazed. She tossed her blood to him and it soon ignted. He rolled around on the ground but it was not easily put out. She kicked him in the sides as he tried to get up. He staggered back as she came after him. Josh fired his BDM five times into her forehead. Her head started to heal. She threw more blood at him. He went to the same defensive roll but he rolled down the hill to the brook. He rolled in the water and Excella followed. Josh was grateful to find the water. He rose up with a vengeance, grateful he had still held onto the Sniper Rifle. His left arm was burned a layer of skin taken off as well as the cloth of his clothes burned and mixed together. The left side of his face had been burned too and he knew unlike Jill, he would not heal.
He knew it was too late for his wife and children. He had been powerless to stop the death of them but he wasn't powerless to kill her. He would kill her. He would make her pay for this. He retrieved the Sniper Rifle and fired hitting her in the chest. "You know you're not going to survive, right? Even if you don't die right away you're going to get an infection."
Josh snarled, "I'm happy to die as long as you come with me. You took away my family..."
"True but this is not all that will be taken from you. Jiiiill will not stop anything Albert wants to do. Your little sister figure, Sheva will meet the same fate as your family."
Josh laughed. "You're pathetic, Excella. You were nothing but a tap tap girl for Wesker."
She snarled, "A what?!" He glared. "You know what. Wesker is back for Jill because even though she hates his guts, she's more woman than you'll ever be. She's more of a mother figure. She's more of a warrior. Hell, Wesker left you for dead before and you're still fighting for him."
"That was an error. I wasn't strong enoug before but now I am. I chose to follow Albert on my own free will. Jill had to be controlled. She's just a plaything for him and me. We'll throw her out when we're done with her. You have it wrong my peasant friend. I am not the third wheel. Jill is. She is a play thing for both of us."
Josh shivered in both pain and from the wind that was very cold suddenly because of the loss of skin. "She's the mother of his daughter. His legacy. You're just a whore. An aristocratic, rich whore who had her own company but a whore all the same. You don't have a child."
"I will," She said rubbing her stomach. Josh sneered. "No...you won't..." He fired hitting her in the stomach. She cried out in pain as he hit her and he emptied the last of the magazine into her stomach. She staggered backwards and collapsed on one leg. He stood over her with triumph. "Any child you might have had is gone...just like mine..."
"You murderer! You barbarian savage! HOW COULD YOU?!" She wailed. He had venom in his voice. "I'm no murdere. If there was any embryo in your womb it was days, maybe weeks old at most. My children...were living breathing human beings. I had a fourteen year old daughter, a ten year old son and another 7 year old...but you forgot one, Excella. I have another child. Ajeigbe. He is thirteen years old. He went to Japan as an exchange student. He is alive."
Excella stood up throwing her blood at him again and she howled, "You'll never see him again!" He was ablaze again and this was harder to put out. He dove into the water face first. Excella was about to finish him off as he was bent over weakened by the more burns and the cold. She then realized something. "You told Jill to go find your son didn't you?"
She scowled and started to run. "Albert! Albert my love!" Josh stood up trying to muster what strength he could. He remembered he had an incendiary grenade. He pulled the pin and threw it a few feet in front of her. It caught her in the radius and she was soon on fire, screaming as the skin peeled her flesh away. Before long, her hair came undone, the bun falling out and her skin became much like Alexia's had in Antartica. She still, after all, had that part of the virus in her.
She snarled and threw the flames at him but he managed to barely evade. She then tore off into the woods after Wesker. Josh remembered the helicopter. He checked, relieved to see the keys were there and he began to get it airborne. He hoped it wasn't too late. He got the chopper in the air, amazed that he was even able to fly when he was this badly damaged but something in his spirit was pushing him to keep going. As he flew over the Forrest, he felt some heart break now only for the fact that he had lost his family but that his only remaining child would have to be without him. If he had not been damaged beyond what was possible to survive, he would have never done what he was about to do. Even with only one child left he would have remained strong for his son. But there was nothing else he could do. He had done his best to raise him.
He flew over the tree line looking for any sign of those running, he had a spot light on the chopper. "I'm sorry, Jill...I know you wanted to use this...but this is the only thing I could think of..."
He saw Jill and Wesker fighting down below and he obviously could not see the little girl. He turnd back around and he finally spotted Excella in the beam of light. He turned it around and went the other way knowinghe would need a good head start. He heard his mother's voice. "Nwa, anyị nwere mpako nke gị. Ị chetara gị n'ala nna."
(Son, we are so proud of you. You remembered your homeland. )
Josh sadly stated, "No, enwebeghị m n'ụlọ ezu. M gaara nēdebe ha. M ga-abụrịrị na e nwere. M na-anya-agbalị ịzọpụta ụwa na Apụghị m ọbụna ịzọpụta ezinụlọ m."
(No, I haven't been home enough. I should have kept them safe. I should have been there. I was off trying to save the world and I could not even save my family.)
The voice of his father spoke this time. They sounded as though they were actually there and not just in his head. Maybe...just maybe they are here...and I should have just listened instead of trying to forget...
"Dike, ị bụ a warrior. Ọ bụrụ na ị na-emeghị ihe i nwere, na ụmụaka ndị ọzọ ga-e gburu. Ọ bụ a egwu na-eri ma ọ bụ ihe a ezi warrior ga-eme mgbe ụfọdụ. Àjà. Ọbụna mgbe ọ na ndị kasị nọrọ ya. I mere ihe nile i nwere ike ime."
( Dike, you are a warrior. If you did not do what you had, many other children would have been killed. It was a terrible cost but that is what a true warrior must do at times. Sacrifice. Even when it is those closest to him. You did all that you could.)
His mother added, "Ị hapụrụ ya na-elekọta ndị ọrụ ọzọ nke BSAA na Africa. Gịnị mere bụ-agaghị emeli. Ọ ga-mere ọ bụrụ na ị ga-ada ha tinyere ndị a afọ atọ na ị ka na nọrọ dị ka ukwuu nke ya n'ụlọ ka ị nwere ike. Ma na ndị ikom dị ka Albert Wesker na ndị inyom dị ka Excella Gione na ụwa bụ mma maka ihe ọ bụla nwa ma ọ bụ ihe ọ bụla ndị inyom, ihe ọ bụla okenye."
(You left him in the care of other agents of the BSAA in Africa. What happened was beyond your control. It would have happened if you would have brought them along these three years you still spent as much of it at home as you could. But with men like Albert Wesker and women like Excella Gione the world is not safe for any child or any women, any elders.)
Josh tried to hold back tears fearing the salt would cause his wounds more pain all though he was in as much pain as one could possibly be. It was sheer hatred and adrenaline keeping him going. All he wanted to do was give up and fall asleep.
"Achọrọ m ịlaghachikwuru nwa m ma m maara na m enweghị ike ka. Abụ m onye nzuzu. A nzuzu na onye dara ada."
(I want to return to my son but I know I am not able to. I am a fool. A fool and a failure.)
He felt his father's firm hand on his shoulder. It did not hurt, however. In fact the area where he was touched felt no pain after he touched it. "M na-elekọta nwa nwa m kwa. Ma m nwere ike ime ya adịghị mma site ebe m. Apụghịkwa nne gị ime ihe ọ bụla si ebe anyị nọ. Ma gị? Ị ga na-enwe ebe ị bụ n'ihi na a ole na ole oge aba. Ị mara ihe ị ga-eme. (I care for my grandson too. But I can do him no good from where I am. Neither can your mother do anything from where we are. And you? You will only be where you are for a few moments longer. You know what you have to do. That is the best you can do for Ajeigbe. He is a smart boy and you taught him your values, our values, that has been passed on for generations. He will be fine in Sheva's hands. She is a good woman. The rest is up to the boy himself. You have done all you can as far as teaching him. As his father there is one last thing you can do and you are about to do it. Do not lose sight of that now my boy. )
Josh was almost where he needed to be. He was thankful that it was a distance still from Jill and Wesker. He hoped it was far enough away from the little girl. His mother seemed to read his mind. He felt his mother touch the top of his head, could smell her. She kissed his cheek and the pain there subsided. He knew it wouldn't be long now. "Otu ihe ajụjụ. Gịnị ka ihe niile a na Excella nwere ime na ịbụ a nnwere onwe olu ogu?"
(Just one more question. What does all of this with Excella have to do with being a freedom fighter?)
His father spoke again.
(Excella, just like Wesker and Ricardo Irving profited off the misery in Africa. They are neo-colonists. Excella murdered your innocent wife and children but she and those like her are responsible for countless other deaths. You may not be back home but you are doing more for the freedom of Africa, and the world for that matter by ending her than you realize. )
His mother told him, "Anyị sie ezigbo ike na nwa m nwoke. Ọ bụ fọrọ nke nta n'elu ma ị nwere ike zuru ike, olu ogu. Anyị na-niile na-eche ka ekele unu. Fola, Ife, Enofe, Diola. -Abịa n'ụlọ."
(Stay strong my son. It's almost over and you can rest, olu ogu. We are all waiting to greet you. Fola, Ife, Enofe, Diola. Come home. )
He saw Excella down below just as his vision was starting to get blurry. She threw her blood up towards him as he came towards her. He positioned the chopper so that he would catch her with the chopper blades. Sure enough, though it destroyed them, it chopped her to pieces as she shreiked. The helicopter hit the ground and the pieces of Excella Gione and lit up like a shooting star.
Jill
She caught up to Wesker and told him, "Stop! Come on, Wesker! You don't want her. Or at least not only her. You want me too."
Albert sneered throwing his sunglasses aside. "Fine. Sarah, my darling. I believe this time, I am it. So why don't you be a good girl and find a good place to hide."
The girl ran off as she was instructed. Jill scowled at Wesker. "At least you have enough good sense to know she shouldn't see this. Too bad you weren't around for Jake. You know I believe in nurture versus nature but when somebody has the Wesker gene they need to be nurtured or else nature will take over. Especially in Jake's case. Sarah's a kid. She still has a chance."
"You haven't the faintest idea of what motherhood is. You're a soldier, Jill. An excellent one at that. But you do not know anything I have not taught you. I am giving you a chance that Chris did not have. You get to witness the new world. To be part of it. Did you ever stop to think of why your beloved Chris Redfield always opposed me? Deep down he knew he was not like me or you. He did not have supirior genes. He was afraid of what would happen should something like this occur. And as for your nurture vs nature fallacy, he was raised by a woman. A weak woman who taught him very human values and yet he had to go out and fight to become who he was meant to be just to deal with her defective inferior genes."
"You bastard! She's the mother of your children and you talk about her this way?" He smirked. "She was a vessel. Nothing more. Perhaps I would have, had I not been shot down by Chris in Kijuju, saved her. I had more than enough money. But in doing so I would have only done this because it would have been what my legacy desired. The Muller woman meant nothing to me. But it would have meant I would have met my son four years earlier. Chris has nobody to blame but himself for this."
Jill told him, "That's funny. I was thinking the same thing about you," With that, she fired the Benelli shotgun she still had with her and hit him in the side but he was already starting to move. She fired at him again and he easily dodged her. He came up behind her and punched her in the ribs. He sent her flying back. He sped up to her in an instant jerking her by her ponytail and grabbed her by the face and began to punch her.
She kicked him in the groin and then in the chest following up with a round house to the face and he fell onto his back. He stood up brushing blood from his bottom lip. "You're getting stronger. Evolving..."
"Don't get the wrong idea. The whole purpose for any of this is so I don't need a rocket launcher to kill you."
He threw a punch at her and hit her in the chest knocking the wind out of her. He started to bring an ax kick down but she evaded it. She grabbed the shotgun to fire but he evaded a head shot. She swung it at his head catching him in the face as hard as she could. He grunted with anger tackling her around the waist. He landed on top of her and snarled, "You're going to have to do better than that. I could make you suffer in other ways more but I woouldn't want our daughter to see what you would force me to resort to. Then again, she is off hiding."
"What's the matter, Wesker? Don't have enough stamina to handle me anymore? Guess even Gods get old," This angered him and he punched her in the face. She spit blood onto him and kicked him in the face. She then followed up with a knee to the jaw. He tried to get up but she ran using a tree to give her footing a running jump and she came at him feet first kicking him in the side of the head. He grunted falling forward. As he stood up she hit him as hard as she could with the heel of her hand trying to send his nose into his brain but she hit it wrong and it didn't happen. As she staggered back she gave him another round house and as he fell backwards she jumped in the air bringing both knees down on his chest putting all her weight and might into it. To her surprise, she actually did wind him.
From what she remembered of the fight with her, him, Chris and Sheva at Kijuju Chris had tried hitting him a few times too and it hadn't gone well for him but she could see she was actually inflicting damage on him. She was nowhere near as fast as him even with the virus in her what little remained from Raccoon City but she was strong. Wesker sent volts at her from his abilities from occupying Piers's body and he zapped her. She didn't go down at first but much like a human would with a tazer, she did. "I've grown quite tired of your disobediance."
He stopped shocking her, just long enough to look up as he saw a mutated woman and they heard a chopper overhead. "Excella? What have you done to yourself?" She howled like a demon in limbo, "ALBERRRRRRRT!" She clearly, even in her BOW state, wanted to communicate something to him. Just then, she spotted the chopper and saw the woman try and light it on fire. Jill ran to try and get to cover and she then realized who must be inside it. Josh!
The blades chopped the woman in pieces and before long an explosion shook the earth sending Jill and even Wesker off their feet. Excella was deader than dead. Albert stood up with part of his face burned off having been caught in the radius of the blast. He approached the helicopter to see if she was alive even if the West African agent was not. Jill's heart sank. She ran forward, on instinct and kicked Wesker towards the fiery cockpit. Wesker was soon engulfed in flames too and he roared with rage and agony. She knew this would not stop him and would not kill him but it would buy her some time. She had an incendiarygrenade and she pulled the pin on it. He tried to come of the burning chopper but she kicked him back in her boot hitting the inflamed body just long enough to send him hurtling back in.
She tossed the grenade at him and it exploded soon after trapping Wesker in there further. She wasted no time. She collected her weapons and then went looking for Sarah. She found her daughter coming out. "I heard a scary sound. Are you okay? Where's daddy?"
She smiled kissing the little girl on the forehead. "He's just having a hard time finding us, sweetheart. I'll tell you what. Let's go home and wait for him there. There's some people you should meet."
She held out her hand and Jill, smiling, took it. "Are we safe?" Jill nodded. "Yes. We are."
She didn't know how long this would be the case, however, and she decided they would need to high tail it back to the city and get a vehicle anyway. She didn't care if she would have to hotwire a civilian vehicle or just commandeer a military truck. Whatever the risk was, the risk of a soldier with an Assault Rifle didn't add up to a psychopath with electrical abilities and super speed and strength that could regenerate.
Leon
He was on the roads north looking for a car. He thought about all the time he had known Ada. He had recalled friends in the past saying that she might not have been the woman he needed even if she was the woman he wanted. At this point, he was starting to wonder if there was a difference anymore at least as far as Ada was concerned. She drove him crazy. He remembered that period of time between 98' and '04 when he thought she was dead. With Claire, he could have made something. He loved the biker girl, the former college student turned Terra Save member. He had even loved her on a romantic level. He didn't know if he'd ever thought of her as a soul mate. Then again, maybe he had and he had just grown out of it. Or the desire he had for Ada had grown out of control. That insane desire every man had of wanting what he couldn't have. But now he did have her or at least he thought he did.
Only he now wondered what could have been. The dead should, after all, stay dead. For all intents and purposes, as of 1998, the world should not have ever seen or heard from Ada Wong or Steve Burnside again. But by the same token, that applied to Jill Valentine as well and she was one of the good guys. It was all so confusing. What had once been normmal was now a thing of the past. He spotted a jeep and he began to hot wire it. He was going to save Ada but he knew he would run into Claire too.
He wondered if it was possible to love two women. He had certainly had multiple partners in the past. It seemed as though Chris had something with Jill and Sheva but then it wasn't like he got to see how long it would have lasted. He vowed to himself thateven if Ada was again emotionally unavailable, that he and Claire should at least have a talk. He wanted to know if she thought it was possible to love more than one person. He wasn't crazy about the idea of sharing a woman but hell, women shared men all the time. And these days, what with Helena dying and him feeling responsible for it, there was a hole in his heart that he couldn't fill. He and Ada had been together these last three years but he had always still wondered if she was going to run off on him again and she had. Or at least, she had gone after Wesker.
Maybe this was different and maybe her reasoning was justified this time. It still didn't stop him from secomnd guessing and worrying about her, about them, and the future. He wasnt even sure they could stop Wesker, or the Ashford's or any of those people. At the same time, he wondered what would have become of Claire had he not left her behind at that Parius facility. Or if he had never met Ada in that parking lot. If only himself, Sherry and Claire had made it our, they would have been all they needed.
In a way, he almost wished that he and Claire had been a steady couple back then and had adopted Sherry rather than letting the government raise her.
As he hot wired the car, he smiled, thinking of simpler times. Of an auburn haired bright eyed young woman stumbling into a bar. Of them riding in a police car, leaving the city in a train and the many cold, lonely nights that had been much warmer with her by his side. He loved Ada. Too much for his own good but with Claire, he never had the sense that she would leave him.
He finally got the vehicle humming to life and started to head north. "I'm coming...don't get yourself killed...Ada...and Claire, I'll be there soon..."
Jake
He observed them from the shadows. Dad had stayed behind landing in the city and instructed him to go through New Dehli before heading to the base. He had said Jill Valentine had been spotted on a sattelite image in that area. Jake's task was much simpler. He had eyes on his targets. Jessica Sharawat, Keith Lumley and Quint Cetcham. Parker Luciani was MIA.
He was keeping tabs on them watching from a distance as the battle for New Dehli raged on. What had started out as what looked like it would be another American victory had turned into a slaughter and with India and Russia and China all fighting the US, three armies against one, the US was getting hammered worse than D Day. It didn't matter. He was here for his own battles. Their war was not his problem.
All though he was ordered to kill each of them, he could not go for them until he killed the first he was asked to. Jake made his way through the hallways of a mostly destroyed hospital that had been overrun by the undead. There were many corpses of zombies across the ground and he spotted multiple dead soldiers. Finally he made his way to the roof top. He was tracking the GPS of his target's PDA. Though the former BSAA agents may not have known specifically they had been targeted for assasination by him, it wouldn't have come as a surprise to them if they had found out.
With this guy, he didn't know he was a target yet and that was the one advantage Jake did have. This man was a deadly killing machine. Wesker had taught him all about what he had done in Raccoon City.
Jake finally got to the roof top to see a man in black clad gear aiming a Sniper Rifle at Jessica. "Afraid I'm gonna have to stop you there."
"I have orders, kid. This isn't your problem,"
Jake told him, "Yeah it is. Those are my targets. I can't have you blowing my cover."
The man put his Rifle down and stood up. "Are we going to have a problem here? You and me? For the sake of your father, I give you your space you're off limits but dont tell me how to do my job. I was shooting Rifles when yere in diapers."
"Hunk...Human Unit Never Killed. Let's put that name to the test," Jake said as he withdrew his knife and lunged at the former USS agent.
That's it for this chapter. So yes more casualties some of you are going to hate me you may hate me already I NEVER said this story would be a happy ending. If you thought it would at any point that's something you told yoursel because I never said it. It's like these people who are shocked when a character on walking dead dies. I mean does it suck? Yeah. But don't act surprised. I'm not pandering to anyone. Don't get me wrong I always appreciate the feedback but I know some of you maty want to see this play out a certain way and maybe it'll be in line with what you want maybe it won't it's playing out the way it's playing out.
As far as Josh I had actually been struggling before as to whether or not I would kill him initially I wasn't going to but I figured well, it would fit in with a boss fight between him and Excella plus the reason I gave, though it is obviously strictly fanfiction based and not cannon, it is understandable he would do what he did.
As far as Jill meeting her daughter, in a way I was kind of going at least with the vibe of Kill Bill of when Beatrix Kiddo meets her daughter and they have to be cordial for the daughter's sake I wanted to do something to that effect but play it out in an original way.
And no, when Josh shot Excella he didn't kill her baby I mean you might have a certain opinion about when life begins I'm not looking to get into that but hell Excella literally just screwed Wesker a few chapters ago. So pretty recently. But Josh's logic is, even if it was a baby, you killed three of mine and they were already living breathing people who had names and everything, personalities, etc.
And I want to emphesize I know the death of Hunnigan last chapter had no emotional impact as she wasn't really in this much anyway it's more going to as far as Leon he hasn't found out yet but as far as Josh's family I know, same thing but in this instance it's not so much about the people who died per say but the characters who cared about them and how they deal with their deaths.
As for the fight with the Indian BSAA agents against that terrorist, a lot of this is based on actual stuff going on in India as I said before but also how they view Shiva is pretty much true and as far as what Majala said about believing creation requires a destruction first I'm going to really expand on that as far as Wesker's mentality towards being a God and his idea of remaking the new world from the ashes of the old. Of course, if Wesker is such a grea scientist he should know how evolution works and see what a fucking retard he is. He's like the Enclave in Fallout 3 at the water treatment plant with the FEV. He's literally that dumb and it would probably be that much of a failure except instead of people just dying they either die or come back as monstrosity's or both.
I accept critics constructive of course, but don't piss me off I'm having kind of a hellish week.
Anyway this story is almost over. I can't wait for it to be. I'm just about ready to wrap this shit up.
Oh and before I say farewell for now in case anybody didn't realize, so the instances of Jake and Wesker back in Florida, plus killing Yoko plus Wesker and Excella having sex, that was all days before. I made it seem like this was all current just so you might think that they had some time before Wesker came back but they didn't. He's in India. It was a cheap trick, I know.
As for Leon, what do you think of his thoughts regarding Claire and Ada? And do you think Ada was justified to go after Wesker on her own for the reasons she stated? Do you think she abandoned him like before or is this different?
That's all. Later.
