(And we're back with my latest installment. While Sasuke's going to be dealing with Itachi, his comrades will be dealing with Kisame and the reanimated Amon. How will it play out? Well, here we go.)
Sasuke had entered the Uchiha hideout and made his way through the building. He had finally entered a large room, and saw sitting at the head chair was Itachi, "Sasuke, welcome." he greeted casually.
"Itachi." Sasuke frowned.
Itachi looked curious, "I'm surprised you haven't come running at me in rage."
"And come off like a child throwing a tantrum?" Sasuke questioned, "Not me. You murdered our family, and I have nothing but hatred for you. But if I let my hatred cloud my mind I will never bring you to justice."
Itachi got up, "It seems you really have grown since that day."
"In more ways than one, brother. I'm going to destroy you and restore honor to the Uchiha name." Sasuke promised.
"Honor?" Itachi laughed, "The Uchiha clan had no honor."
"What?!" Sasuke asked in outrage.
Itachi smirked, "The Uchiha were monsters deep down, and killing them was a means to an end."
Sasuke growled as he activated his Sharingan, "Shut up! You killed our family and you will pay for that!"
"Then come at me with the intent to kill." Itachi beckoned him, as he activated his own Sharingan. Sasuke and Itachi launched at each other ready to finish things once and for all.
Meanwhile back in the forest, Kakashi, Sakura, Naomi, and Kisame were dealing with Amon. Kisame was striking at Amon with Samehada, but the Bloodbender kept dodging, before striking Kisame back.
Kakashi landed by the Akatsuki member, and spoke, "Kisame, we don't stand a chance against someone like Amon. Our best bet is to work together."
"Spare me your ideas, Kakashi." Kisame grunted.
"I would listen to the cyclops, shark face." Amon warned him.
"Stay out of this!" Kisame called, and launched a shark projectile.
"Kisame, no!" Sakura shouted.
Amon redirected Kisame's jutsu back at him, making the group jump away. Naomi spoke to Kisame, "Amon is a Waterbender, meaning your water jutsu only gives him ammo."
"And he's also an expert at chi blocking." Sakura noted.
"You let him touch you he'll disable your chakra flow just like a Hyuga can." Kakashi finished.
"Then how does one stop someone like him?" Kisame asked, feeling opened to suggestions.
"Our best show is long ranged attacks." Sakura said, as she used her Earthbending to hurl chunks of earth at Amon.
Amon using his quick reflexes was able to dodge the projectiles, but saw Naomi used Firebending at him from behind. He dodged, and used his mastery over Waterbending to gather all the water left over from Kisame's failed shark projectile and launch it at the Firebender girl.
Amon spoke up, "You shinobi are our of your league. The only one who stands a chance against my power is the Avatar, and he doesn't seem to be here."
"Maybe not, but we're gonna keep fighting you till the end!" Sakura called, as she and Naomi tag teamed against Amon.
Back with the Uchiha brothers, Sasuke and Itachi were going at it in a battle to determine the superior brother. Sasuke unsheathed his two swords and started striking for Itachi who was using a simple kunai to block both swords.
Itachi pushed Sasuke back and spoke, "Very impressive swordsmanship, Sasuke. But that one sword. The metal doesn't appear to be your ordinary design."
Sasuke held his Space Sword, "That's because this swords was made from the ore of a meteorite." he answered.
"Interesting." Itachi admitted.
"Yeah. This sword once belonged to a man of courage and honor. Two qualities I thought you had." Sasuke frowned. Itachi said nothing, as he and his brother clashed, until Itachi burst into crows that swarmed Sasuke, who gasped, "Genjutsu!"
Sasuke heard Itachi's voice echo around, "Your skills will never surpass my own." The youngest brother wasn't going to let his older brother's words get to him. So he concentrated and using his Sharingan reversed positions with Itachi surrounded by crows.
"I see. It seems you have grown" Itachi said feeling impressed before dispelling the illusion revealing Sasuke who formed hand signs.
"Fire style; Phoenix Flower Jutsu!" he launched fireballs at his brother, who ran around dodging the flame balls.
"Still not holding back. Good." Itachi smirked.
Sasuke frowned, "You had everything, Itachi. Friends, family, love, respect from our parents! I longed so much for approval and acceptance, especially from father. But he always favored you."
"Being the favorite was never a privilege I enjoyed." Itachi responded with a scowl.
"That makes me feel so much better." Sasuke said in sarcasm, as the two fought exchanging blows while mixing it up with their Sharingan illusions.
Outside, Amon fought Kakashi hand to hand, as the Jonin used his Sharingan to dodge and intercept Amon's strikes. The cycloptic Jonin thought to himself, 'I just have to keep him distracted so he can't Waterbend or even Bloodbend.'
Amon thought, as his attacks were getting blocked and intercepted, 'This man is certainly a challenge. No doubt it has to do with that eye of his.'
Kakashi jumped back and formed a Chidori before thrusting it into Amon's torso. When Kakashi pulled his arm out, Amon's wound started healing, "You may be able to regenerate, but it'll take longer if your being distracted!" Kakashi continued his onslaught on Amon.
Sakura was waiting calmly as her sensei was holding Amon off, until he was right where she wanted him. She activated her Earthbending and encased Amon in a dome of earth with his head sticking out, "Let me go!" Amon demanded.
"Well, that out to hold you." Naomi said.
Kisame spoke, "So now that he's out of the way, we can get back to where we left off." he pointed Samehada at Squad Seven.
Watching from Amon's eyes was Orochimaru who frowned, "I will not let them defeat my puppet so easily!" he concentrated hard, and Amon was able to punch his arms out of the earth dome and used his Bloodbending on Kisame who strained.
"I can't control my body!" Kisame strained, as he was forced to use Samehada to break the dome surrounded Amon freeing him, "Help me!" Kisame cried.
"Do we?" Naomi asked.
"It's the right thing to do." Kakashi answered, knowing they'd be no better than Akatsuki. So they tried fighting Amon while trying to get past Kisame.
Back inside the fortress, Itachi spoke to his brother, while avoiding a Chidori spear from Sasuke's sword, "I think it's time I showed you the true power of the Sharingan." he activated his Mangekyo Sharingan, and started launching black fireballs from it.
Sasuke was dodging the shots while looking at the flames, "Black fire?"
"Behold the flames of Amaterasu," Itachi began, "Fire so powerful it cannot be put out."
"You're not the only one with powerful flames, Itachi!" Sasuke formed more hand signs, "Fire style: Dragon Flame jutsu!" he launched from his mouth fireballs in the shape of giant dragon heads.
Itachi tried dodging most of them, but one ended up setting his Akatsuki cloak on fire, forcing him to remove it. The other fireballs ended up putting a giant hole in the fortress. Itachi quickly escaped through the hole, but Sasuke wasn't going to have it, "You're not getting away this time!" Sasuke called, as he took off after his brother.
Itachi and Sasuke raced through the forest still exchanging blows while jumping from tree to tree. As they kept going forward they suddenly spotted Squad Seven fighting Amon who still had Kisame in his Bloodbending hold.
"What in the?" Itachi gasped.
"Oh, that's right," Sasuke replied, "Orochimaru sent us a little unexpected gift."
"But that man..." Itachi said in shock.
"So you know him too, huh?" Sasuke inquired.
Itachi said nothing as he watched Kisame's body get twisted around by Amon. The Bloodbender snickered, "I guess I'll have to end you first." he was about to crush Kisame from the inside out, only for Itachi to launch an Amaterasu fireball at him.
Amon jumped away and released his hold on Kisame, as the swordsman caught his breath. Amon looked over seeing Itachi, "Will the intrusions never cease?" he asked.
Kisame spoke to his partner, "Itachi, that guy's no joke."
"There's only one way right now to stop a reanimated corpse. Everyone, attack him together!" Itachi ordered.
"I don't take orders from you!" Sasuke argued.
"There's no time. Just do it!" Itachi shot back.
Kisame knowing his partner had a plan went first striking at Amon with Samehada. Sakura and Naomi used their bending behind Amon throwing him off balance. Kakashi jumped in using his Raikiri on Amon damaging his reanimated body worse. Sasuke who was against taking orders from Itachi felt Naruto would've done the same while his opponent was down. So he unleashed a fireball jutsu at Amon. Amon's body was slowly trying to repair itself, as the bender spoke, "When my body reforms I'll take pleasure in destroying you all."
"That will not be happening." Itachi answered, as an reddish orange aura surrounded Itachi and materializing around him looked like a spectral figure.
"What is that?" Naomi gasped.
"It's huge." Sakura said in shock.
"No way." Sasuke gasped.
"Well, Itachi, you're going all out here." Kisame chuckled to himself.
"What is that thing?!" Amon panicked.
Itachi spoke, "Behold the Susanoo. The Mangekyo Sharingan's most powerful ability. And you, Amon, shall be the subject to show what it can really do." the Susanoo drew a flaming sword and stabbed into Amon's body.
"You fool, this body of mine is regenerative. I'll just..." Amon stopped, as he started feeling funny, "Wait, what's happening to me."
Orochimaru watched, and spoke to himself, "Wait, that sword. It can't be!"
Itachi spoke to Amon, as the others listened, "The Sword of Totsuka. Anyone pierced by this blade are forever sealed into a genjutsu for eternity. Meaning there's no escape for you, Amon."
"No! This can't be! I was promised I'd get to fight the Avatar again! No!" Amon screamed, as he was assimilated into the gourd the Susanoo was carrying.
At Orochimaru's HQ, the snake shinobi shouted, "No! Amon was a valuable asset in my plan!"
"It's not so bad," Kabuto replied, "We still have Ozai, Kuvira, Unalaq, and Zaheer."
Orochimaru frowned at Kabuto, "Even so. I will not allow any of them to stand in the way of my plan!"
Squad Seven watched in shock, while Itachi's Susanoo deformed and the oldest Uchiha dropped to his knees and coughed up blood, "What's wrong with him?" Naomi gasped.
"Itachi's over used his Mangekyo Sharingan," Kisame explained, "I always felt it would catch up to him eventually."
Sasuke seeing his brother in a weakened state approached him, "Brother, your time is now." he drew his two swords and raised them above Itachi.
Kisame grabbed Samehada ready to strike, only for Itachi to shout, "No, Kisame!"
"What?" Kisame asked in confusion.
"I will let Sasuke decide my fate. Strike me down if you want, Sasuke, but please look me in the eye once more." Itachi requested, as he looked up at his brother with his normal eyes.
Sasuke looked Itachi in the eyes and gasped as he recalled flashbacks of the times his brother was kind to him even when he would poke fun at him. He then recalled the night of their parents massacre and saw just before Itachi fled into the night he could see a tear in his eye. He snapped out of his thoughts, as his arms began to shake.
"Why's he hesitating?" Naomi asked.
"He has Itachi right where he wants him." Sakura noted.
Sasuke tried to drop his swords down on Itachi, but his arms wouldn't come down, "Why? Why can't I do it?!" he cried.
"Because deep down, you still care for me." Itachi answered.
"What?" Sasuke gasped.
"You care about me, Sasuke. And I still do for you." his brother replied.
"No! You care nothing but yourself and power!" Sasuke shouted.
"True, I said that, but that was only to see if you ever had what it took to be better than anyone in our family." Itachi answered still feeling weak.
"You're not making any sense." Sasuke frowned at his brother.
"I know. Perhaps we best discuss this elsewhere," Itachi suggested before looking over at Kisame, "Forgive me, my friend."
"Itachi?" Kisame asked, until many spirit butterflies from the spirit world swarmed around Kisame blinding him, while another swarm surrounded Itachi and a confused Squad Seven. When the spirit butterflies disappeared, Kisame saw he was left alone in the forest, "What? Where is everyone? Itachi? Itachi!" he screamed.
(And how's that for a fight? May not have been the best fight, but I try. Amon's been sealed by Itachi's Susanoo, and now Itachi himself has something he wishes to share with his brother and Squad Seven. See you all next time where secrets unfold.)
