Thank for all your encouraging reviews. I love you! I'm all fire-up now!
They watched the couple leaving. Ruby glanced back at her little girl many times. Lisanna held the child in her arms tightly. As her father told them, Dyme was a lovely child. She seldom spoke. She wasn't cry when her parent left. She just watched them silently till they disappeared from sight. Looks like she would not become a trouble for them.
Only Lisanna and Pantherlily accompanied the little girl. She had been drawing since her parent left. They tried to make her speak, afraid that she might be bored. But the little girl only responded once in a while. At the same time, Gajeel spent his entire time on the couch. Maybe he was regretting for following the female mage just because she was taking his cat along.
"This is boring," Gajeel said. He turned to his friends. "Let's get outta here."
"Daddy does not allows me leaves the house," said the seven-year-old girl. "It's dangerous."
"You can go if you want. Just a little walk around the town," Lisanna suggested. "Be home before dinner, so that we can have dinner together."
He snorted.
"I will never leave you alone with my cat," he said.
Gajeel grabbed the little girl and threw her over his shoulder. Lisanna and Pantherlily screamed, but the little girl was too surprised to shout. Gajeel walked out of the house. His friends quickly followed him. The female mage immediately took Dyme into her arms. Instead of return to the house, they just followed Gajeel.
"We shouldn't leave the house," Dyme whispered.
Gajeel glanced at the little girl and his eyes met Lisanna's blue eyes. She had questionable look on her face. Pantherlily too. They had many unanswered questions about that family.
They walked till they reached the town. Lisanna went to a small ice-cream shop and came back with ice-creams for each of them.
The town was quite pretty. The buildings were old but some colours would live them up. There were several big trees around the town. Might be thousands of years old. There were only small shops; and the residents of the town were little as well.
They sat on a bench near by the ice-cream shop.
"This is quite a pretty place," Lisanna said.
"But the people is not pretty," the little girl replied.
The mages turned to her, but Dyme just ate her ice-cream quietly. Then they glanced at each other.
"Yeah. They aren't friendly," Lisanna agreed, just to make the conversation continued. "We were almost lost yesterday while searching for your home."
The little girl kept quiet. Even the other two mages were silent. They didn't know what else to say.
"Dyme..," The little girl didn't respond. "..Is there any place around here that your father used to bring you to?" Lisanna asked. "Somewhere you like?"
The little girl inhaled deeply. Then she nodded slowly.
"There's one. It's not that interesting but it's pretty cool," she said.
"Really?!" Lisanna shouted almost out of excitement.
The little girl nodded again. "I can show you the way."
Lisanna clapped her hands happily. Gajeel glanced at her with an annoying look. Dyme jumped off the bench. The female mage stood up and took her small hand, but the girl avoided and held Gajeel's hand instead. She pulled Gajeel to follow her small steps and left Lisanna dumb-founded.
Lisanna gaped. They finally arrived back to the house; the promising cool place.
"Is this…?" She couldn't finish her question.
"I don't know the way from the town," Dyme said, and continued, "Daddy always walks me to that place from home."
Lisanna exhaled a relief. At first she thought that that girl had tricked her.
"Is it far?" she asked.
The little girl seemed to think of a good answer.
"If it's a straight way, it would take a short time. But we have to cross this wood which would take us some times." She watched all the dumbfounded faces. "It's like…emmm…we went to the town, and we came back, and it's half of it," she tried hard to explain.
Lisanna gulped. She turned to her friends in which they quickly turned away.
"That's what Daddy told me," the little girl added.
They sighed. Looked like bad explanation ran through the family.
"Is it far?" Lisanna asked again. However the little girl shrugged.
"It's okay. I remember the way," she said.
The mages let the little girl led the way. She walked along a small route away from her home. After a few steps she stopped. She went up to Gajeel and pulled his hand several times.
"Daddy always carries me on his shoulder," she said.
Her big eyes stared hopeful at the dragon slayer. He snorted, and then lifted her up and placed her on his shoulder. She grinned widely.
Lisanna smiled. Like what Levy had told her once, the iron dragon slayer had his soft side that he tried hard not to let it show. She grinned to Pantherlily before followed the girl's instruction.
After a half an hour walk, they arrived to two separate routes.
"Which way should we take?" the cat asked.
The little girl not immediately replied.
"This way," she said, pointing to the left route. "I think," she added, whispered.
Gajeel glanced at her as he heard her little whisper but he didn't say anything. He just followed what the little girl said and went on with the left route. However, after fifteen minutes, the little girl stopped them.
"I think this is the wrong way. We should go back and take the other route."
None of the mages spoke. They walked back to the main road.
"Are you sure we're heading the right way?" Lisanna asked.
"This route is unfamiliar. It must be that route," she replied.
Lisanna sighed heavily. Her feet started to hurt.
"We are not lost, right?" the female mage asked again.
"Daddy said, if we lost, we should take east. The town is east of this wood. Once we reach the town, we can walk back home," Dyme explained.
Another bad explanation couldn't leave them rest.
"We are not lost, right?" Lisanna repeated.
Dyme turned her head back to Lisanna, who walked behind Gajeel.
"No, we're not," she replied.
"What is that place that you want to show us?" Pantherlily asked.
Dyme turned to him but then she quickly turned back to the front.
"It's a…em…a waterfall. It's not far from here," she quickly assured them.
"You should tell us earlier. We can ask Gajeel to find us the place. He is a dragon slayer," said Lisanna, merrily patted his shoulder. Gajeel snorted.
"What is a dragon slayer? Is he bad?" Dyme asked curiously.
"No, no. He's not bad," Lisanna said. "At least not him."
"But he kills dragons. Isn't it bad to kill animals?"
I didn't own Fairy Tail...
