(And here we are with another update. After the defeat of Danzo and Kuvira, there's going to be a lot to tell Tsunade.)
Naruto and Sasuke after recovering from their fight against Kuvira and Danzo, returned to Konoha with the old man's corpse. They went to the building and knocked on the Hokage's office door, "Enter." Tsunade said.
The group entered the office, as Kakashi spoke, "Tsunade-sama, we really have to talk."
"What's the problem?" Tsunade asked.
"This is the problem." Naruto answered, as he and Sasuke dropped the corpse of Danzo onto the floor.
The sight of this started the Hokage and her assistant, "Oh, my... Is that..." Shizune trailed off.
"Danzo?" Tsunade gasped.
"That's right," Sasuke confirmed, "He tried to destroy Naruto and I."
"And he wasn't the only problem we were dealing with." Naruto added.
"What else was there?" Shizune asked.
"Before we tell you anything you should summon Jiji and his teammates. This is something they should hear the most." Naruto answered. Tsunade nodded and sent out a summon for the three.
Later on Hiruzen and his teammates Homura and Koharu were present in the office. The three old timers looked down at Danzo's corpse with all three sighing, "So it finally came down to this?" Homura asked.
"His lust for trying to be the one in control led him to his downfall." Hiruzen added.
"Even so. He was still one of us." Koharu noted, as the three bowed their heads in respect.
"So now that you're done paying respects to a mad man, can we get to the big issue?" Naomi asked.
"Naomi is right," Tsunade confirmed, before turning to Naruto and Sasuke, "What else happened to you boys out there?"
"Well, before we ran into Danzo, we ran into another," Naruto began, "Just as Kakashi-sensei and the others ran into a undead corpse when tracking down Itachi. Sasuke and I ran into one as well."
"And who was it?" Hiruzen inquired.
"Kuvira, the former infamous Great Uniter." Sasuke answered.
"Another former villain from Avatar Korra's time?" Shizune asked.
"That's right," Naruto confirmed, "Orochimaru sent her to bring us to him. We were having a tough time against her what with being a master Metalbender and strategist and all."
"But Danzo showed up and sent her flying," Sasuke continued, "When she returned she had a new order to destroy Danzo before resuming her original command to bring us in."
"So how did you defeat her?" Tsunade asked.
"Believe it or not, I didn't have to use Energybending to free her captured soul." Naruto answered.
"Then what did you do?" Koharu inquired.
"Showed her an act of kindness." Naruto replied.
"Excuse me?" Homura asked in confusion.
"When Danzo tried to use his sealing jutsu to take us out, Naruto used his Earthbending to bring me and Kuvira along with himself into the ground avoiding the sealment." Sasuke explained.
Naruto continued, "My act of kindness to Kuvira and forgiving her for being who she was in the past made her feel at peace with herself and everything. That set her free from the reanimation jutsu's control."
"So the forbidden jutsu does have its weaknesses." Hiruzen said.
"And if Orochimaru has resurrected past Avatar enemies, maybe we can use that information to defeat any others." Sakura stated.
"Don't be too sure, Sakura," Naruto replied, "With all we've known about Avatar enemies, not all of them can be looking for peace. And if Orochimaru's resurrected guys like Amon and Kuvira, I got a pretty good idea of others he could've brought back as well." The others nodded having the same idea.
"And with Itachi gone, the Akatsuki is down more members." Hiruzen added.
"Precisely," Naruto agreed, as he looked out the office window in concern, "I have a feeling a storm's coming. And when it hits it'll hit hard."
Far from Konoha in the Rain village, inside a tower stood the two leading members of the Akatsuki looking out into the village. Suddenly appearing behind them was Zetsu and Kisame, "You summoned me, Pain?" Kisame inquired.
The orange haired man answered, "Yes, Kisame. We've been getting beaten around far too long. But this time we're going to take the fight to Jinchuriki himself."
"And how?" Zetsu inquired.
Konan answered, "Kisame will lead Naruto away from the village to subdue him, while Pain and I will launch a full scale attack on Konoha."
"What good will that do if we're both doing two different tasks?" Kisame asked.
"Simple, you will be charged with apprehending Naruto. Provided you don't kill him first," Pain squinted at Kisame who felt sheepish, "And if something were to go wrong and he returns to the village, we'll level it all unless he gives himself up as well as the rest of the Jinchuriki he's hidden away from us."
"And if that doesn't work?" Kisame inquired.
"Not to worry, we'll make it so he has no option." Pain promised.
"All I'm seeing from this plan of yours is you offering me up as bait." Kisame frowned.
"We are low on man power, Kisame," Konan reminded him, "And we're running out of options."
"I'm starting to question if sticking around with this organization is worth anything anymore." Kisame grumbled.
Zetsu spoke up, "Watch your tongue! You swore your loyalty to this group and you will continue to serve us until your services are no longer necessary."
Kisame growled, getting ready to grab Samehada, until Pain shouted, "Enough!" the two stand down, "Kisame, you have your orders. Go now and prepare yourself for when the plan is to be put into motion."
"On it." Kisame answered bitterly, before taking his leave followed by Zetsu.
Konan turned to Pain, "Nagato, I know things haven't been working out for us, but is this really how far we're going to achieve our ambition?"
"I know it seems like we've been chasing the same dream since we were kids, Konan. But this time we'll make our dream a reality with the power of the tailed beasts and the Avatar to go with it. I promise you after this, all will know of our pain." he promised.
