(Welcome back everyone to a new update. Been busy with a lot of things as of late, but I'm back with something new for you.)
One afternoon Naruto was walking through town, while enjoying the beautiful day. With no missions or any Akatsuki reports he saw this as one of those days where he had nothing to worry about. But even though he was taking it easy, he still couldn't help but think of the Akatsuki and Orochimaru. As long as they were out there scheming the ninja land wasn't safe. He spoke to himself, "Maybe I'll go home and have a nap. Nothing much I can think of," he continued on until he looked ahead and blinked. He thought he had saw Kisame creeping around in an alleyway. He ran to the alley and saw no sign of said shinobi, "Now I really need that nap."
He walked out of the alley only to see Kisame sneaking around on top of a roof top. He quickly pursued the rogue shinobi, before using his Airbending to propel himself faster and blocked off Kisame's path, "Going somewhere?" he asked the former Kiri shinobi.
"Actually, I was hoping to see you, Naruto." Kisame answered.
"Not surprised." Naruto crossed his arms.
"I heard your team took care of Itachi in our last confrontation with them."
"Yes. Shame I wasn't there to witness it myself." Naruto answered, making sure to keep up the act Itachi was a rogue shinobi with no undercover orders.
"Maybe not, but how about witnessing your own death?" Kisame offered.
"Not happening!" Naruto shouted, as he attacked Kisame with Airbending blasts.
Kisame dodged before speaking, "I'd savor what energy you have, boy. Because you're going to need it for the real me."
"Real you?" Naruto asked, before realizing it, "You're a water clone."
"Correct. The real me is right outside the village. Have to be in close proximity in order to stay solid, after all."
"What's your game?" Naruto questioned him.
"A fight. After all, I am one of the last few surviving members of the Akatsuki. Wouldn't you take any chance there is in crippling it further?" Kisame's clone tempted him.
Naruto frowned knowing he was baiting him into fighting outside the village, but knew if he tried to get Kisame into the village he would cause more damage and wasn't about to risk the safety of the villagers. He spoke up, "I'll find you."
The clone grinned, "I knew you'd accept." he melted into water. Naruto turned and looked in the direction of the village gate, and took off.
As Naruto left, he was unaware he had been watched by one of Pain's bodies. With the Rinnegan for its eyes, Pain was able to see what it saw. Pain was currently with Konan on a cliff side close to the village, "Naruto has taken the bait. It's time we put our plan into action." he told Konan, before the two took off.
As he passed through he stopped and concentrated before entering sage mode. He used the power of sage chakra to locate Kisame who was miles away from the village. He took off with caution. Naruto had hurried and found himself in the same spot in the forest where he fought the Sound Five. He stood dead center before calling out, "I'm here, Kisame!"
He heard nothing, but suddenly felt the earth vibrating. Coming up from behind him was Kisame who had used his Underground Shark Jutsu to move through the ground while having the top part of Samehada sticking out acting like a sharks dorsal fin. Just as Kisame was right on top of Naruto, the Jinchuriki stomped the earth which opened up and spat Kisame out, "You forget I can bend the earth as well?" he asked Kisame.
"So much for my sneak attack," Kisame grumbled, but calmed himself, "No matter. Because now I have you right where I want you." he gripped Samehada.
Naruto scowled at Kisame, "You're acting just like how the other members of the Akatsuki were. You act so damn cocky and underestimate me. That's what got them killed!" he used Earthbending and launched earth chunks at Kisame who used his sword to swat them away.
Naruto did a sweep kick sending a wave of air at Kisame's feet tripping him Kisa got up and formed hand signs, "Water style; Water shark projectile!" he conjured water from a nearby pond in the shape of a shark and launched it at Naruto.
Naruto used his Waterbending to redirect it back at Kisame who jumped away before it collided with the ground sending water everywhere. Naruto got into a stance, "Your elemental chakra attacks won't work on me, Kisame."
"Nevertheless, I will bring you in and all will be right." Kisame answered.
"Well, I hope you're ready to lose." Naruto said, as he underwent tailed beast chakra mode.
"The only one losing here is you!" Kisame shouted as he formed hand signs, "Water style; Super Exploding Water Shockwave!" he started expelling a large amount of water form his mouth that started consuming the area and Naruto with it.
"Oh, no," Naruto gasped, as he quickly used hand signs and some of the water started forming around his head turning into a bubble. He thought to himself, 'Good thing I had Utakata teach me this air bubble technique to breath underwater.'
Naruto floated around inside a giant dome of water with Kisame as well. The Akatsuki member spoke, "Inside this bubble I dominate you, boy."
"Don't sell me short just yet." Naruto said, as he got in a fighting pose despite being under water.
"Then perhaps it's time I show you the true power of Samehada." Kisame said, as his sword started merging with him.
"Ok, that's just gross." Naruto said, feeling sick.
Siame then floated in the dome looking more shark-like than before, "Now watch as you become the shark's prey." Kisame took off swimming through the water faster than the average shark.
This in turn took Naruto by surprise, and started feeling Kisame strike at him from all sides. Naruto spoke, "You may be fast, but I can be faster!" he used the power of his tailed beast chakra to combine his Airbending and Waterbending to swim around the bubble of water as fast as Kisame.
The two shinobi clashed every time they collided with each other and repelled one another back. Naruto thought to himself, 'Who would've thought fighting under water would be this challenging? I still gotta stop him somehow.'
Kurama thought to him, 'We can use the power of tailed beast and sage mode together. Their combined powers should overcome Kisame.'
'Good thinking, Kurama. Just have to make sure Kisame is distracted for me to gather enough sage chakra.' Naruto thought, as he summoned two clones which went to hold Kisame off while he gathered sage chakra mixing with his tailed beast chakra.
As the clones fought Kisame, Naruto had used his bending to swim right for his enemy, while one of his chakra arms was conjuring a super giant Rasengan. When the clones saw the real Naruto was closing in, they poofed away leaving Kisame wide open. The shark shinobi looked shocked knowing this was gonna hurt, "Try this!" Naruto thrust the huge sphere of chakra at Kisame that was so powerful it shot him right out of the bubble.
Upon being expelled from the bubble, the dome of water collapsed into water that soaked the area. Naruto landed onto a tree branch before taking off to find his opponent. He had found Kisame lying against a stone wall that had an imprint of his body in it. Kisame looked battered and bruised from both Naruto's Rasengan and colliding with the stone wall. He panted from exhaustion and spoke to Naruto, "Once I'm back on my feet, you're really going to be in for it." suddenly Kisame cried, as Samehada was un-fusing with him, "Samehada, why?!" he demanded, as he tried to grab the handle, only for blue spikes to emerge from the handle piercing Kisame's hand.
"It looks like your weapon has rejected you, Kisame," Naruto noted, "It no longer recognizes you as a worthy wielder. But then again after taking a blow like that from me I wouldn't wanna be with you either." he mocked, while Kisame growled. Naruto spoke to the sword, "Say, Samehada, why don't I find you a new wielder. In fact I know someone in mind already. Good chakra, fun to be around, and smells like octopus." The sound of that got Samehada's attention as it crawled it's way over to Naruto who sealed the sword in a scroll and would deliver it to Killer Bee later.
Kisame growled, but couldn't move, "You're lucky I can't move or I'd kill you."
"You can't kill me. The Akatsuki needs me." Naruto answered smugly.
"To hell with the Akatsuki. I don't care about them anymore. Sending me out here like bait to get you away from the village." he grumbled.
"Wait, come again?" Naruto asked in confusion.
Kisame looked up and smirked, "Oh, you didn't know? Why do you think I wanted you to come outside the village to fight me?"
"What's happening?" Naruto demanded.
"Pain ordered me to lure you outside the village so he can stage an attack on it."
"What?!" Naruto shouted.
"Yes. He had hoped I would be able to acquire you without going overboard but as you can see that's not happening." Kisame smirked.
"Why you dirty little... I can't deal with you now!" Naruto said, as he hurried back to Konoha leaving Kisame to his death.
Kisame looked up at the sun smiling, "Last sunset I'll ever see. And it looks beautiful." he said, before his eyes closed never to open again.
Meanwhile in Konoha, Pain was indeed laying waste to the village with his other bodies destroying a section of the village, along with many giant summoning animals assisting them. The many Konoha shinobi were evacuating the villagers to safety and engaging the Six Pains regardless of how powerful each of them was. The main Pain watched seeing one Konoha shinobi fall after another, until he flew up into the high and was high above the village.
"I will show all in this village the true meaning of Pain," he aimed both his hands down at the village, "Almighty Push!"
