Sorry for the late update
Chapter 28: Four-Fanged Offensive
After traveling nonstop, Mark, Lyn, Legault, Guy and, Karel finally arrived at the Bern Mansion. Eliwood and the gang with two new additions, a wyvern rider named Heath and a berserker named Hawkeye, arrived in Bern and sent a sage and sniper to the Bern Mansion to talk to the queen but also to find Mark and his small group.
"Are you Lord Mark and his companions?" asked the sage.
"Yes and who are you sir?"asked Mark
"I am Lord Pent and this is my wife Lady Louis" said the sage.
"The Mage General! It's an honor to meet you" said Mark.
"Mark, who is this?" asked Lyn.
"This is Lord Pent and Lady Louis, they are nobles of Esturia" said Mark, "Why are you traveling with Lord Eliwood, Lord Pent?"
"We are helping Lord Eliwood find the Shrine of Seals and to stop Nergal for he rivals Lord Athos in power" replied Pent.
"Lord Athos? As in Archsage Athos?!" asked Mark.
"Yes, the very one" said Pent.
"Amazing" said Mark.
"Now we have to meet Queen Helena about obtaining the book to the Shrine of Seals" said Pent.
"About that, King Desmond just left the Mansion and now the Queen won't see anyone" said Mark.
"She will see me" said Lady Louis.
Mark gave a confused look to Louis.
"We are both from Esturia, and know each other quite well" explained Lady Louis.
"Understood; now where is Eliwood and the rest of the group?" asked Mark.
"Two miles west of here and you'd better hurry, they're very worried about you" said Lord Pent.
"Thank you Lord Pent, Lady Louis, we take our leave, and please inform the Queen of our departure, for we were her guests" said Mark.
"Mark, before you leave take these with you" said Pent, handing Mark two objects, "These are heaven seals, they awaken hidden strength in certain people"
"Really? Well this seems more like a wedding present than a gift" said Mark.
"Really? Well congratulations and who's the lucky lady?" asked Pent.
"The love of my life, Lyn" replied Mark.
"Well give one to Lyn for me will you?" said Pent.
"Sure and good luck to you too" said Mark.
Mark and his companions headed out to meet Eliwood and along the way something amazing happened.
"Lyn, here Lord Pent wanted me to give this to you" said Mark as he handed a heaven seal to Lyn.
"Mark on the back of this one there's a M, I think this one is for" said Lyn.
"And on the back of this one there's a L, so this one must be yours" said Mark.
The two traded and then the heaven seals began to glow.
"Mark, what's happening?" asked Lyn, with a hint of worry in her voice.
"I don't know Lyn but, I feel stronger" said Mark.
"Me too, I feel stronger as well" said Lyn.
Lights began to glow over Mark and Lyn and formed a circle above them and began to descend. As the lights hit Mark, he felt his sword, Masamune and his brother's sword, Muramasa trying to come out of their sheaths. Mark pulled them out and he'd never been good at dual wielding but, he felt as if he'd been doing it forever. The lights passed over his arms and a forearm guards that were a mixture of gold and steel with a cooper and silver inlay, appeared on his forearms.
Lyn had the same experience. The Mani Katti wanted to come out of it's sheath and when Lyn pulled it out, she began to glow, and when the glow dissipated Lyn looked stronger and she had a Sacean short bow in her hands.
"What happened to you two?" asked Guy.
"I don't know" said Lyn.
"We just changed class, we are no longer just swordfighters anymore. I'm now a Blade Master and Lyn, your a Blade Lord" said Mark.
"Cool" said Guy.
"Well let's hurry and meet up with Eliwood" said Mark.
"Hey Mark, is it official? You two married?" asked Karel.
"Yes Karel, me and Lyn are officially married" said Mark, giving Lyn's hand a squeeze.
After a half hour of riding to the west they finally caught up with Eliwood and friends.
"Hey everyone what's up" shouted Mark from the top of the hill. They turned and looked but didn't say anything. Mark and Lyn lead their small party down to the rest of the gang.
"Why are you all so quiet?" asked Mark.
"Because we're in enemy territory" said Kent.
"Well-" started Mark, when he caught something in the corner of his eye. He turned to get a better look.
"It can't be" said Mark.
"What?" asked Eliwood.
"Is that General Wallace?" asked Mark.
Off in the distance, a huge knight was marching his way towards the group.
"Hahaha, nice to see you all again" laughed Wallace.
"General Wallace, what brings you here?" asked Mark.
"I heard Lady Lyndis was in trouble and I came to help and that nomad that was traveling with you when I met you, I saw him and he asked me where I was going and when I told him, he said he was going to come with he, he should- oh here he comes" said Wallace.
The well known nomad named Rath, came riding up and dismounted and walked over to the group.
"Rath, its good to see you again" said Mark, holding his hand out for a handshake.
Rath shook Mark's hand and nodded to Lyn.
"Rath, so what made you want to come and help us?" asked Mark.
"I believed that Lyndis would like my assistance" said Rath.
"Well thank you for your assistance Rath"said Eliwood before Mark could reply.
Mark shot Eliwood a glare and Eliwood walked over and whispered as he walked by, "Follow me and we'll talk"
(A few minutes later)
Mark, Lyn, Hector, Marcus, Ninian and, Eliwood were far enough ahead of the group so that no one could hear them.
"Mark, you can't judge a book on it cover. I found that out with Heath" said Eliwood.
"It's true we were about to fight and he quickly surrendered saying he didn't want to harm women or children" said Marcus.
And Hawkeye, I thought he was an enemy until he said he was the protector of the desert and I was forced to believe him when he fought on our side and helped us defeat the bandits in the area" said Hector.
"Ok, fine I will only judge people by how they treat people and not by their personal agenda" said Mark.
In the distance, Linus and Lloyd the two Reed brothers watched Eliwood's group with great interest.
"So the he still lives. I thought Beyard and Hilda had taken care of him" said Lloyd.
"So it seems brother" said Linus.
"Go report this to Father and get reinforcements" said Lloyd.
Linus was taken back,"What? Why not take them now?" asked Linus.
"They're stronger than they look" said Lloyd.
"Fine, but I will return as soon as possible" said Linus before running off into the forest.
Lloyd ordered his troops to engage Eliwood and his friends in combat.
(With Mark)
"Dammit their here" said Mark.
"Who's here?" asked Hector..
"What group are we after?" said Mark, pulling out his swords.
Three swordsman were stopped dead in their track by Mark and Lyn. The men laid on the ground dead and Mark glanced at the sleeve on one of the swordsman tunic. It had the black fang insignia and another symbol. Four fangs and a white wolf in the center..
"Damn it these guys aren't regular black fang. Their one of the Four fang" shouted Mark.
"How right you are, fiend" shouted someone.
"Who's there" shouted Hector.
"It's Lloyd, the White Wolf" said Mark.
Lloyd stepped out of the shadows, "Mark, I though you were dead but I guess demons don't die" said Lloyd.
"Your right I don't die. Cause I have a reason to live" growled Mark.
"Well, lets put it to the test shall we" said Lloyd pulling out his Silver Blade.
Mark pulled out Masamune and charged, they clashed blades.
Mark and Lloyd jumped back.
Lyn rushed Lloyd.
"LYN!" shouted Mark.
Lloyd easily parried Lyn's attack. Lloyd twisted his blade and sent the Mani Katti flying from Lyn's hand. Lloyd spun around to slash her open but Mark Knocked her out of the way and blocked the attack.
"Now you got me angry Lloyd" said Mark.
"Why cause I hurt you girlfriend" smirked Lloyd.
"No, you attacked my wife" I roared and slammed Masamune in to Lloyd's Silver Blade. Lloyd grunted at the force of Mark's attack.
Mark then pulled out Muramasa and tried to slash open Lloyd's chest but Lloyd jumped back and pulled out a dagger.
Mark quickly knocked the dagger out of Lloyd's hand. Then his Silver blade.
"Surrender Lloyd, your defeated" said Mark.
"Never" shouted Lloyd and charged.
Mark spun around and kicked Lloyd in the stomach. Lloyd doubled over in pain and Mark slammed the hilt of Muramasa into Lloyd's skull.
(A few minutes later)
Lloyd was becoming conscious again.
"Hey are you Ok?" a smiling Eliwood asked Lloyd.
Lloyd saw his dagger, he grabbed it and got behind Eliwood and put the dagger to Eliwood's throat. Everyone jumped up and readied their weapons.
"You all will let me go" demanded Lloyd.
"Let him go" ordered Ninian. Everyone was surprised by the seriousness in her voice.
"Don't worry, I have no intent of holding a hostage" said Lloyd.
"Uhai said a similar thing" Eliwood said.
"What?" said Lloyd.
"Your comrade, Uhai, we met him at Dread Isle and fought him,.not all the Black Fang is evil, some of you have honor" explained Eliwood.
"You, you met Uhai..." said Lloyd, and then let Eliwood go.
"Your not as Sonia portrays you" said Lloyd.
"So Lloyd what are you going to do now?" Mark asked.
"I'll go find out what Sonia is doing with the Black Fang" said Lloyd.
"Well then we aren't fighting the Black Fang. Just Sonia and her master" said Hector.
"I'm surprised Hector, I thought you didn't have a brain under all that muscle" said Mark.
"Shut up" said Hector before storming off and Florina following him.
"So what will you do now Lloyd?" asked Eliwood.
"I'll go with you. I feel that fighting with you will allow me to fix the image of the Black Fang" said Lloyd.
"Very well, meet us in the command tent in a few minutes" said Mark.
(With Hector)
Hector was storming off.
"Lord Hector?" said Florina.
"Yes, Florina" said Hector.
"Um, I'd like to thank you for saving me that day in Caelin" said Florina.
"Heh, I guess I'd also like to thank you as well" said Hector, smiling.
"For what?" asked Florina.
"To thank you for letting me be the one that saved you" said Hector, "Otherwise, I might not have met such a beautiful person"
Florina blushed, "Thank you, Lord Hector"
Meanwhile
Linus looked over the camp as Lloyd walked into the command tent.
"They put a spell over my brother... they will pay dearly" said Linus before turning and leaving.
(Back with Mark)
Mark,Lyn, Hector, Eliwood, Ninian, and Lloyd were in the command tent discussing their next move when Lord Pent and Lady Louis walked in.
"Lord Pent, did you obtain the book?" asked Hector.
"No, she will only give us the book unless we do a favor for her" explained Pent.
"An item was stolen from the mansion that is needed for Prince Zephidel's succession ceremony" said Louis.
"What item?" asked Mark, "It can't be..."
"Yes, the Fire Emblem" said Pent.
"We should check out Castle Berk before we make our next move" said Eliwood.
"Agreed" everyone said.
This is probably the longest and the hardest chapter to write. It took forever.
