Note: A lot of what I write is from Wookieepedia. But I changed things as I wanted to.
This is a really short chapter. Really, really, really short. But it is short for a reason. We already know Varus is researching Miraluka. I don't need to go in and say "varus sat there looking at the screen and OH WIAT hhere is what he read!" No, better to cut to the chase and just show what he found.
Something I find interesting on the Miraluka is that the information on them is already very closely related to the path I intend to take Varus on. It took very little tweaking to make them perfect.
So, welcome to the short-chapter-on-Miraluka.
If you don't care for 100% fact-filled-chapters that have no actual entertainment value, then go ahead and skip the chapter. It will not push the story further, but it will show what Varus's Research provides.

Little is known on the species from their secretive nature. Most of what is compiled, a rough ten pages, is from what little researchers and scholars have been allowed to access. Below is the compiled public knowledge of the Race: Miraluka.
The Miraluka are a branch of the human race from the home world of Alpheridies. Their language is Miralukese, although they speak adopted Basic as a primary language as well. Their primary characteristics is their close knit sense of community, their blindness, and their high Force-sensitivity percentage.
-Biology
The Miraluka, as sub-human, carry the basic human DNA and biology. They are capable of interbreeding just as well. They have two arms and hands, two legs and feet, and a head with hair just as much as any other human.
The difference in biology is two things:
1. Blindness
2. Medocloriens
All Miraluka, save a special bloodline carefully preserved by the ruling hierarchy, are blind from birth.
Miraluka compensate for this blindness by having the highest number of force-sensitizes found in any one species. (97.8%) In addition they are found to have amongst the highest average count of medocloriens per individual born, closely tied with the pureblood Sith.
Those few who are not force-sensitive sometimes carry on the blindness genetically, and become truly crippled, or retain their eyesight and live as a normal human would. It is only the special royal bloodline that is found to retain both eyesight and the strong force capability at once.
For the sake of socialization, Miraluka wear a cloth over their eyes when around outsiders.
-Force
In addition to having the highest percentage of force-sensitizes (97.8%) in a single race, and having one of the highest average medocloriens count on an individual basis, they are found to be naturals in using it.
A study has found that their natural skill with it is closely tied to their blindness and sense of community.
Force Sight -
A skill taught to them at birth, all Miraluka born blind see the world around them through the Force. This allows them to see each other, the Force, all around them, and in some cases see through solid objects . The distance or clarity of this sight varys with the skill of the user.
Force Bond -
A skill the Miraluka found to prize. The Miraluka have such a strong sense of community because they willingly employ a mass 'net' of Force Bonds. This 'net' plays an important role in their society through a process called 'Pillar of Fire'.
The Miraluka are known to use the Force Bond to heal each other across great distances, feel each other's emotions, to 'know' each other, to develop their sense of community, and make their weak strong.
Note: Unfortunately information on the bond is only from here-say. They are unwilling to discuss the bond in detail, as it plays such a key role in their society.
In terms of strength, a study found they could feel the battle of Malachor V from across the galaxy.
They worship neither Light nor Dark Side of the Force. They do not accept the philosophy that the two are separate, but are taught to "accept the two as different sides of the same (Force)". As such they use both freely, and use both to balance each other.
The Miraluka have come to call their own Force Sensitizes as "Luka Sene".
Due to their radical beliefs of the Force, they are shunned and exiled by the Jedi and Republic, while hunted and killed by Sith.

Government: Hierarchy
Last Known "King": Kento Marek
The symbol of Marek's house is the Pillar of Fire.
The Governmental structure of the Miraluka is that of a hierarchy royal bloodline carefully preserved through the generations.
As with hierarchys, the production of a male is paramount.
The bloodline is dominant enough to allow tampering from outsiders, as there appears to be no special condition in place as to who the male may marry in so long as he produces an heir. No matter who he beds, the bloodline perseveres.
The king, called "Keeper" of the Miraluka acts as part King, part Priest. His role is over their lives in a physical sense, but he uses the Spiritual 'net' of Force bonds as his primary tool. In addition he has a role of preserving or 'keeping' the 'net' of Force Bonds intact.
-Community Structure
Miraluka are thoughtful, cautious, and deliberate. They have little interest in personal gain or glory. Instead their interest is in each other and their own personal growth. They are very united, calling each other 'brother' and 'sister', and consider themselves part of a massive family. Emphasis is on the community, rather than the individual.
The Miraluka are characterized by a special trait in their sense of community marked by the mass spreading of Force Bonds. They employ a 'net' of billions of Force Bonds interconnected.
This net extends to the hierarchy, and it is noted how the Keeper has the responsibility of preserving, caring for, and attending to this net. It is unknown what affect the Keeper has on his people through the 'net', but it is noted how loyalty and community is absolute.
-Pillar of Fire
The 'Pillar of Fire' is a special Miraluka ritual that marks a physical representation of their bond as a people and their unity as a race.
While no outsider has been allowed to see the 'Pillar of Fire', it is reported that it has a direct connection to their Force Bond Net. It is closely guarded, preserved, and used as a tool by the Keeper.
-Luka Sene
The Luka Sene is a Miralukan Force organization. While all Miraluka use the Force to see the world around them, and to an extent train and learn to use their power; there are some so strong and skilled in the Force that they seek specialized education. They focus primarily on increasing their sense-related powers, but are known to employ power seen in Sith and Jedi. However, unlike the Jedi, Sith, and other traditions, one's existance as a Luka Sene does not dictate a member's personal life. They are taught strong self-discipline in power, but also expression in self, emotion, and imagination.
Luka Sene members are present in all aspects of society and in all fields. Most members use the organization's provided education to improve their own lives, their careers, and their society as a whole. Example: Increasing their "sense" based powers and strengthening their Force Bonds.
A 'higher' class of Luka Sene would be the Seekers.
The Seeker acts as a specialization and career solely around the Force. The Seekers are lead directly by the Keeper, and are his right hand in all matters. They are his army, his assassins, his healers, his agents, his hunters, his teachers, his personal priests, his attendants, his guards, his servants, and his priests; and they guard the 'Pillar of Fire' with a fervent zeal equaled only by the Keeper.
-History
The Miraluka originated as a branch of Fallen Jedi who departed 7,836 years before the Great Hyper Space War. The Fallen Jedi split off from other Fallen Jedi who believed in much darker ambition. They founded their new home and established a new Force Code. They believed that the Dark Side and Light Side were not as separate as they were taught.
When the Fallen Jedi finished writing their code, they started practicing it. Their history notes that the practice in both Force Sides resulted in such a spike of power that it broke their sight and left them blind. The Miraluka have been blind ever since.
The Jedi call it "a price they paid for practicing their evil beliefs." Their Code, and their beliefs that shunned them, has been carried on since. The Miraluka have never been in good standing with the Jedi, nor the Republic, because of them, choosing to exist in exile rather than accept the Order's teachings.
For much of their history, the Miraluka would keep to themselves. Their original founder, Slavian Marek, was the first Keeper, created the 'Pillar of Fire' and their 'Force Bond Net', and established the Marek bloodline.
The Miraluka would find themselves constantly at war to defend themselves. The Hutts, the Republic, the rising Sith Empire all sought to kill them, with mixed results of success. The Miraluka have never in history had enough strength to go on the offensive, but are noted by persistent refusal to die.
After the Great Hyper Space War and the Sith extinction, the Miraluka exchanged skirmishes with the Mandaloriens, with equal losses on both sides. The Miraluka would stand strong against Darth Revan despite being in the depth of his territory, but would meet their end at the hand of Darth Nihilus. In a single day the race was brought to extinction; and their history ended.
