A/N: So generally people put disclaimers on their story. If you're wondering why I haven't, I just kind of assumed that because my story was on , it was kind of obvious that the PJO series doesn't belong to me.
Enjoy this chapter!
The day went slowly, but eventually, Annabeth found herself waiting not-so-patiently for the final bell to ring.
"Annabeth, calm yourself. You're shaking," Percy said jokingly.
She shot him a glare. "Shut up."
The bell rang, and the couple was the first out of the room. Annabeth was practically dragging Percy to the parking lot.
Percy had already talked to Paul, and they were able to borrow his Prius. This was one of the times when Annabeth was very thankful that her Seaweed Brain could drive.
"How did your day go with the whole rumor thing?" Percy asked.
"No one really asked about it. I got a lot of whispers and stares though. I'm sure it just isn't spreading as fast as I assumed that it would. I guarantee that the whole school will know by homeroom tomorrow," Annabeth answered.
"I really shouldn't be surprised because you're you, but this isn't bothering you at all," Percy noted.
"You said that earlier. Why should it bother me?"
"Because everyone thinks that a lie about you is true."
"That's just it; it's not true. I'm absolutely sure that I'm not pregnant, and if I was, the human race wouldn't need men anymore."
"Aren't you hilarious."
"Would it even be that bad if I was pregnant? Yes, we are still in high school, but as demigods, our life expectancy is considerably shorter than mortals. We would likely be able to see a lot more of our child's life if we had him or her when we were young rather than wait until we were older."
"You're logical side is taking over, Wise Girl. Are you thinking or just talking?"
"Watch yourself Seaweed Brain, or you'll never have any children."
Percy looked confused which caused Annabeth to laugh.
"I can't tell what kind of threat that is. Two possibilities have come to mind, and I'm not sure which you mean," he said.
"I'm not telling you," Annabeth laughed.
"Knowing you, it's probably the more violent one."
Annabeth just smiled.
When the duo finally reached camp, they were both beginning to get excited. They climbed the oh-so-familiar hill, and they both smiled when they saw the beautiful camp that they considered home.
The couple walked hand-in-hand towards the Big House where Chiron and Mr. D were playing Pinochle.
"Annabeth, Percy, what brings you here?" Chiron asked.
"I'm in search of a weapon," Annabeth explained.
"You know where to go," Chiron replied with a gesture towards the armory.
"Are you coming, Percy?"
"No, actually. I wanted to talk to Leo. Is he here Chiron?" Percy asked.
"Yes, he should be in the Hephaestus cabin right now," Chiron replied.
"If you two didn't actually need anything, why are you here right now?" Mr. D asked with an eye roll.
"Being friendly. Saying 'hi.' Letting you know that we are here," Annabeth replied.
"Just go get your weapon Anniebell," Mr. D waved her off.
Annabeth laughed and walked towards the armory. There wasn't anybody in there, so she was able to search through everything herself.
Bow, sword, countless shields. No daggers.
Frustrated, Annabeth sat down on the floor. She looked out the door to see Percy explaining something to Leo as they walked. Leo kept nodding at whatever Percy was telling him, and he looked like he was thinking pretty hard as they walked. She sighed and leaned her head back onto whatever was behind her. Her head hit something that was unstable, causing it and a lot of other things to fall down.
Annabeth shrieked as the armor and weaponry rained down on her.
Just my luck, she thought sarcastically.
Her luck changed, however, when she saw a dagger lying amongst the clutter. It was small. Probably wouldn't be very useful in battle, but she could make it work. It's not like she had many other options.
Annabeth sheathed her new weapon and began to attempt to clean the mess that was made. It's not like the armory was very organized to begin with, so she didn't have to put it all back exactly where it originally was.
She heard a knock and turned to see Percy walking in.
"Find something?" he asked.
"If, by something, you mean a dagger that is probably too small to be useful, then yes," Annabeth replied with a shrug
"You mean in this entire place, there wasn't one good dagger?" Percy questioned.
"Surprisingly, yes," Annabeth sighed. "Let's go talk to people. I miss everyone."
She grabbed her boyfriend's hand and walked towards the Athena cabin.
"I guess we're going to talk to your siblings first," Percy said. The eye roll could almost be heard.
"Yep."
There weren't many of Annabeth's siblings at camp. The few that were there were much younger than Annabeth, and one of her sisters that stayed year-round was fifteen.
"Annabeth!" the younger siblings cheered when they saw their usual cabin leader.
"Hey guys! Where is Bethany?" Annabeth asked when she noticed the absence of the fifteen-year-old.
"She's with the new camper. We're about ninety-nine percent sure that she's a daughter of Athena," one of the children said.
Before Annabeth could respond, another one of her siblings asked, "Where's Malcolm? I thought that you two lived together."
"Malcolm couldn't come; he had an assignment to work on," Annabeth explained. "Now about this new camper-"
"And this is the Athena cabin," they all heard Bethany say.
They all turned in time to see a little girl get claimed by their mother with an owl above her head; a very familiar little girl.
"Sophia?' Annabeth said in surprise.
"Annabeth!" Sophia cried then ran over to her newly-discovered half-sister.
"How'd you end up here?" Annabeth questioned.
"Being a demigod might have something to do with it," Percy said from where he was sitting.
"Shove it, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth replied playfully.
"Well, I told my Daddy about the big, scary dog that I saw chasing you yesterday, and he told me that it would be safest more me if I stayed here," Sophia explained.
"That was smart of your daddy. By the end of summer, you'll be able to defend yourself and it will be safer when you go back to live with him," Annabeth noted.
Sophia nodded in agreement.
The horn sounded for dinner, and Annabeth grabbed Sophia's hand to lead her to the dining pavilion.
Bethany began explaining how each cabin ate separately, and how Annabeth was the cabin leader for Athena.
"Are you here all the time like Bethany is?" Sophia asked.
"I used to be, but now I live with one of our brothers in the city. His name is Malcolm and he is in college," Annabeth answered.
They reached the dining pavilion where Bethany took Sophia to tell Chiron the good news. Annabeth decided that she would step back and allow Bethany to explain the process of dining at camp.
She and Percy bumped hips while they were offering their food. As usual, she offered hers to Athena, but decided to offer some to Poseidon as well.
Without him, I wouldn't have Percy, she thought then smiled at her boyfriend as they parted ways.
"That boy was in our cabin earlier. Why is he sitting by himself?" Sophia asked as Annabeth sat back down.
"That's Annabeth's boyfriend. He is a son of Poseidon. The only one at the moment," Bethany said then continued eating.
"Oh," Sophia replied then looked curiously towards Annabeth. "I thought I read that Athena and Poseidon don't like each other?"
"They don't. I tried not to like him at first, but it didn't really work. He's my best friend," Annabeth replied with a glance towards the Poseidon table.
Percy was just picking at his food, which was unlike him. Annabeth decided that they were going to have to talk on the drive back.
He looked up and flashed a lopsided grin that made butterflies fly around in her stomach.
That boy, she thought while shaking her head, her smile not leaving her face.
Yay stuff happened. QOTD: what kind of things bother you about fanfiction? I hate when people are out of character. Like Percy is always portrayed as such an idiot when he literally led the demigods into war. He isn't dumb; he just isn't as smart as Annabeth. Yet people make him say normal words that I would use in a conversation with someone then make him say 'haha annabeth is teaching me stuff' or something really dumb like that.
Until next time, friends!
