Normal POV

"Hiro sweetie, could you grab me some cinnamon from the pantry?" Aunt Cass asked from the kitchen. Having been situated so comfortably on the couch in the living room with a perfectly good bag of gummy bears, the boy whined and picked himself up.

"Why can't Dashi do it?" He muttered on his way to the pantry.

"What was that Hiro?" Aunt Cass asked in an intentionally oversweet tone, indicating she full and well knew what Hiro had muttered.

"Nothing Aunt Cass. I'm getting it!" He yelped, rushing into the pantry.

"That's what I thought." She said, flipping over a pancake on the griddle with a grin.

Hiro was searching over all the different spices, trying to locate the cinnamon, but wasn't having much luck. Finally, he heard his aunt call out "Oh Hiro, I almost forgot, I left it on the third shelf, one above the rest of the spices."

Hiro mentally whined. He hated getting things above even the first shelf, let alone the third. Puffing in his chest, he jumped as high as his tiny little legs would go, and barely even say the top of the second shelf. Before he could attempt to go full king Kong on the shelves, he heard stifled chuckling from behind him. Surprised, he spun around to face his older brother. 'Just great. It's 'perfect' Tadashi!' he thought sarcastically with a roll of his eyes.

"What are you looking at?" The younger demanded with what he felt like was an angry expression. To his dismay, Tadashi cooed at him and said he was 'adorable'.

"Adorable?! I'll show you adorable!" Hiro cried out, tackling his brother, but failing and instead falling down on his small rump. Tears pricked Hiro's eyes, but not out of pain; out of embarrassment. Rather than help the poor kid, Tadashi had the gall to laugh at his younger brother.

"Stop laughing!" Hiro demanded, wiping his tears away immediately before Tadashi could see and tease him some more.

"Sorry bud. Don't worry though, I'll get the cinnamon." He said in a kind tone, reaching up to the third shelf. Before the elder could grab said spice, Hiro tugged on his left arms and jerked him back full force and they both went down, Hiro barely missing Tadashi's body.

"Hiro?! What the? Why did you do that?" He asked, brushing the dust off of his clothes.

"I wanna do it!" He whined in determination. Feeling a bit bad for enraging his little brother, Tadashi complied and let Hiro try again, knowing full and well he wouldn't succeed.

The boy jumped and stood on his tippy toes, trying his absolute best, but still had no luck. Eventually, he found a different tactic and began climbing the shelves to Tadashi's amusement.

"Uh, Hiro, I'm not sure that's safe. Maybe I should just-

"Nooo!" Hiro whined, interrupting his older brother.

"I can dooo it!" Hiro was on the second shelf when he had taken to a smug expression. He had mastered a skill that Tadashi didn't think he was even capable of and that gave him sheer satisfaction. While he was distracted by his cocky thoughts, he failed to notice a can of tomato soup next to his right foot and when he went to climb to the third shelf, he slipped and fell.

Out of instinct, he closed his eyes and shrieked, flailing is arms everywhere.

"Hiro, you okay? This is why I told you to let me help you bonehead!" He scolded, setting the boy on the floor. Hiro blinked, not fully processing what just happened.

'Wow. Dashi had some crazy reflexes.' He thought, shaking his head.

"I want you to promise me to never climb a shelf again." Tadashi demands. Hiro just rolled his eyes and grabbed the cinnamon that had fallen along with him.

"Hiro." Tadashi said warningly, grabbing his shoulder.

"Okay. Geez Dashi. I won't." Hiro says, inching away from his brother.

Suddenly, Aunt Cass barged into the pantry. "Hiro. Where is that cinnamon?" She asked in a rushed tone. The boy handed her the sweet spice that caused him so much trouble and she was back in the kitchen lickety split.

Before Hiro could make a move to leave the pantry, he was stopped once again by Tadashi. "What now?" He whined as Tadashi sported a serious expression.

"Promise me Hiro. It isn't safe and I don't want you getting hurt." Tadashi say.

"Alright, I promise. Now let me leave!" Hiro complained, pushing past his older brother. Tadashi sighed as he watched his younger brother waddle away in an irritated manner. 'When will he learn?' he thought, before an idea struck him.

*Page Break*

"Hiro, you've been eating too many gummy bears lately young man. I'm putting a limit now. You can only have one bag per month. At MOST." Aunt Cass declared as the younger threw his fifth bag in the trashcan.

"Awww! Aunt Cass. That's no fair!" He pouted, hoping she'd melt into his puppy face.

"No negotiations. You're going to make yourself sick by eating those sugar messes." She says firmly, heading back to the café. Hiro slouched his shoulders and watched as she took his last seven bags of yumminess with her. "She's one to talk. She works in a CAFÉ for crying out loud. Her LIFE is filled with sugar and butter." He pouts pointlessly.

Suddenly, a thought struck him. Aunt Cass had to have hid his gummies somewhere. All he had to do was find them and eat them gradually, and hopefully she wouldn't notice.

The poor boy must have looked all around the house and couldn't find them. Then another thought struck him. 'What if she gave them to Dashi to hide? He is good at hiding things.'

With that, Hiro rushed into the one place he hadn't check; his and Tadashi's room. Upon entering, Tadashi was doing homework. 'Typical Dashi.' Hiro thought.

Then, he saw it. On Tadashi's desk lay his stash of gummy bears. The only catch was that they were on the topmost shelf and the only reason he'd caught sight on them was because Tadashi had clumsily let one bag's corner stick out like a sore thumb.

Biting his lip, Hiro made it look like he wasn't just staring at his brother's shelf and pulled his socks off nonchalantly. Tadashi glanced at him in confusion, cocking up an eyebrow.

"Uh, Dashi?" He asked as unsuspiciously as he could.

"What's up?" He asks, placing his pencil down on his desk, a surefire sign he was paying full attention.

"C-could you…?" Hiro started.

"Could I?" Tadashi asks, waving his hand in a circular motion, telling him to go on. Little did Hiro know he was hiding a smirk.

"Er, I'm hungry Dashi!" he said lamely. Tadashi raised his other eyebrow along with the left one now.
"You're…hungry." Tadashi said slowly, trying not to laugh at his little brother's lame attempt to get him out of the room.

Hiro put his head down and decided to put his acting skills to use. "Uh huh. I just want some spaghetti and meatballs. The way she used to make." Hiro said shyly.

Tadashi was admittedly taken aback. He didn't expect that. He was referring to his mother's signature pasta surprise. Tadashi himself had only made it once, and it wasn't as good as hers. He supposed it wouldn't hurt to try it again for Hiro's sake.

"I'll see what I can do." Tadashi said, ruffling Hiro's hair as he left the room. Hiro shoved the offending hand away and glared at Tadashi before giving him a grateful smile.

'Wow. That worked better than I thought.' Hiro said to himself as Tadashi exited.

It was when Hiro had successfully climbed atop Tadashi's rolling chair that Tadashi realized he'd been duped. Once the elder had put the spaghetti in the pot to boil, he raced upstairs to see what had become of Hiro and the gummy bears he was no doubt trying to get.

Hiro was standing on top of Tadashi's desk and trying to grab at the gummy bears on his tippy toes, but was still too short. The elder watched in amusement, but slight anger. 'He promised!' Tadashi scolded in his head. Still, he was searching for the right moment to make himself noticed. After all, this was all a part of his plan.

"Ugh! Why does Dashi have to be so tall! Why does Aunt Cass have to hide my gummies!" Hiro cried out, jumping up in frustration.

"Why do you have to break your promises?" Tadashi asks, leaning against the wall. Startled by his brother's voice, Hiro tripped up and landed on the floor on his rump. Rubbing his back, Hiro fought the involuntary tears pricking at his eyes.

"Dashi!" he cried, doe eyes widening in surprise. "Was just…just organizing your desk." He says lamely.

Tadashi tapped his foot on the floor, not amused. "Hiro, what have I told you about lying?" He asked sternly. Hiro hung his head down in shame.

"It only works on Aunt Cass." He mumbled.

"Mmhm. So what were you really trying to do?" He asks, sitting down next to Hiro.

"To get the gummy bears." Hiro murmured.

"And what did you do in the process?" Tadashi asked. He hated making his brother ashamed of himself, but he had to learn his mistakes somehow.

"Fall?" Hiro asked, cocking his head to the side adorably.

"Well, yes, but what else? Something a little more important." He hinted.

Hiro's eyes grew in realization and he dipped his head a bit down so his crow's nest of hair covered some of his eyes. "Broke my promise." He said in shame.

"And what did we learn today?" Tadashi asks.

Hiro sighed. "To never trick you again." He said tiredly.

"Hiro." Tadashi said warningly.

"To not break my promises that could put me in danger." He said softly, giving his brother a puppy face in hopes that he'd let up a bit. It worked as Tadashi's face softened.

"Alright. I think you've learned your lesson, so I think I'll let you just taste the spaghetti I'm making." He teases. Hiro's jaw drops in disbelief.

"Dashi! That's not fair! I'm so hungry." Hiro pouted. "And my butt hurts now." He added. Tadashi burst out laughing and Hiro suppressed the urge to smack his older brother. Instead, he laughed too, Tadashi's laugh was far too contagious.

"Alright, let's go. I'm pretty hungry. Besides, Aunt Cass should probably help me, considering she's a professional." He says, getting up and helping Hiro in the process.

"Carry me." Hiro demands, holding his arms up expectantly. Rolling his eyes, Tadashi complies.

"Yes your highness." He says sarcastically.

"Hey Dashi?" Hiro asks.

"What is it?" he asks.

"How come I'm the one who always has to be taught a lesson? Why don't you ever do anything wrong?" Hiro asks.

"That's where you're wrong. I learned something very important today." Tadashi corrects.

"What?" Hiro asks.

"I can only make pinky swears with you. That's the only way you keep your promise." He says lightheartedly.

"Dashi you're a goober." Hiro says, knocking his brother's hat off of his head.

"Just for that, I'm not carrying you." His brother teases, sticking his tongue out and placing Hiro down. Ignoring his brother's protests, Tadashi lifted his hat off the ground, placed it on Hiro's head before picking him up again and heading down to eat.
