Hello Readers. I am soooooooooooo soooooooo sorry that I have not updated in a year. There are many excuses that I could give you, but I am not going to because you guys deserve better than that. I will try to update regularly again, but since I am finishing my senior year of high school things are really hectic and I can't guarantee that the updates will be as fast as I could have them. I will try my hardest though. And for repentance and a little treat for you guys, I am posting 3 new chapters (this being the first of them) I hope you like them and I can't wait to see you in two chapters. As always, Please review. They make me (and of course Erik) very happy. I can't wait to hear you guys' thoughts. Thank you for your patience and continuous support, I love you all. Xoxo ~Creatures of the Night~

Erik whispered "I'm going to help Gustave finishing packing." He kissed her cheek and left to let her get control over all her emotions so she could tell him about her life with Raoul. Erik went to the room where Gustave was packing and knocked gently on the door. Gustave said "You may enter." Erik opened the door and felt a strange feeling to see Gustave packing. He shook it off and asked "Would you like some help son?"

Gustave smiled and replied "Sure dad." While Gustave and Erik were packing they started talking animatedly about music. They were so deep in conversation that they didn't notice Christine standing in the doorway watching the two. She was smiling as she watched them, she had never seen Gustave so happy in the 10 years that he had been alive. She wondered if Erik ever thought of being a father, or if he was too scared that the child would end up deformed like him.

She watched as Erik finished helping her son pack and she wondered how she was going to tell Erik about her life with Raoul. She knew that he would be angry because her life was not a happy one, but a painful and sorrowful one. She turned around and left silently not knowing that Erik had become aware of her presence about midway through his and Gustave's conversation. They finished packing and Erik could tell that his son was completely exhausted. Erik said "I am going to put your traveling case in the family room while you get ready for bed, you look ready to sleep on your feet." Gustave smiled at him as Erik picked up the case and took it into the family room. As he set the case on the floor next to Christine's, he could hear her pacing nervously upstairs and he felt his heart ache for her that she was so nervous to tell him her story.

He wondered what happened in her life with Raoul that made her so nervous to tell him. He went back into Gustave's room and saw him crawling into bed. Erik walked over and sat down next to his son. Gustave yawned and asked "Father, can I ask you something?"

Erik instantly answered "Of course, you can always ask me anything?"

Gustave looked him at with wisdom beyond ten years as he asked "Why are the people of this world so cruel to you, when your face was not your fault?"

Erik looked his son in the eyes that were a match to his own and he answered "Honestly, I do not know Gustave. I think it is because people cannot accept things that are different or not perfect and my deformity is both."

Gustave hugged him and whispered "I wish they could have over looked that so you could have become a famous composer."

Erik smiled sincerely at his son and said "Merci Gustave, that was sweet of you to say."

Gustave smiled as he laid down in bed. Erik pulled the covers up to his chin and whispered "Bonne nuit Mon ange."

Gustave smiled and answered "Bonne nuit père."

Erik ruffled his hair before whispering "I love you."

Gustave blinked up at him his blue eye shining. He answered "I love you too papa."

Erik smiled sincerely and brightly as he left his son's room. He left the door open a crack behind him and watched him for a couple minutes before turning round and walking away. He took a deep breath as he realized that he still had to face Christine if he wanted to know what her life with Raoul was like. He sighed as he walked across the house and part of him wished that he was back at his own house on the grounds. He walked over to the room that he shared with Christine and entered.
