A/N: Hey guys. Don't hate me too much. I have no real excuse since its been a month since school let out. I mean, I got a job, but I really need to stop being lazy.

This chapter has nothing to do with anything else, because my sister wrote it. She got inspired and wrote a cute little oneshot, but I told her I would post in my story because it has my characters in it. Enjoy!

It was Friday, and the school was buzzing with excitement about the weekend. By third period, Annabeth needed to release some of her energy. Luckily, she had gym that day.

She walked into the locker room and saw the girls excitedly talking to one another. Placing her bag in a locker and pulling out her gym clothes, Annabeth tried to listen to their conversation but only heard the end when Gabby exclaimed, "Today is going to be so fun!"

"Why? What's going on?" Annabeth asked. She finished changing into her gym clothes and started to pull on her sneakers. The girls waited a minute to explain their excitement as the gym teacher took roll.

As they started to walk to the gym, Jess explained everything to Annabeth. "Basically, the guys' swim teacher isn't here, so they're taking gym with us. Percy, Lee, Shayne, and Max are all in their class, and the word is we're playing spiderball-"

"And I plan on kicking butt and taking names!" Gabby interrupted, trying to imitate a ninja kick. Annabeth laughed at her friend.

"One question- does spiderball actually involve spiders? Because if it does I might have to opt out," she asked, knowing the game likely didn't involve any spiders, but trying to bring some of her own comedy to the conversation

"I can't believe you've never played this before! We've been playing since elementary school!" Kimberlee exclaimed.

Across the gym, the boys from the swim class were acting like idiot, continuing to validate the reason why girls live longer. Percy and the guys noticed the girls walk in, and separated themselves from the pack to join their conversation.

At this time, Jess took it upon herself to explain the game to Annabeth. "The rules are simple: every man for himself. This game is the 'Hunger Games' of dodge ball. We start in the center of the gym in a circle. Someone is in the middle of the circle with a pile of dodge balls. Everyone else walks in a circle around them until the person decides to kick it, starting the game.

"From there it's dodge ball without boundaries. You can pick up a ball or two and try to get people out, or just run like crazy. If you get out, sit down where you are. This pretty much goes until there's one person left. We play a couple of rounds, and it's really fun."

Annabeth was intrigued. By this point, the boys were conversing with Kimberlee and Gabby. Annabeth turned to join this conversation, but their teacher called them to start playing.

Percy walked by Annabeth towards their teacher. "First game of spiderball?" he asked, giving her that devilish smile that usually meant he was about to make a bad joke.

"I'm ready to learn," she replied.

"Well you better watch me then, because I dominate at this game," he told her. Annabeth laughed.

"For now, that is. I catch on quick." Their teacher just finished giving a rundown of the rules, and Annabeth just caught her last bit of information as they circled around her.

"Remember: if you get out sit down. But if you want back in and a ball rolls your way, you can get someone else out and take their place. Perfect, Annabeth thought. The teacher started the game and Annabeth ran, beginning to plan and calculate how she was going to win.

She hid amongst a group of girls that didn't look very interested in the game. Across the gym, Percy picked up a ball and threw it at a guy who ran by him, nailing him between the shoulder blades. He retrieved his ball and made eye contact with Annabeth.

Percy smiled. Annabeth ran. There was no way that Seaweed Brain was getting her out.

She ran past Jess, who was out and sitting on the ground, and nearly tripped. Jess had stuck out her leg to stop her.

"Hey!" Annabeth exclaimed. Jess smiled and revealed a dodge ball. Annabeth almost ran, fearing her friend's evil side, when Jess handed her the ball.

Percy had a few confrontations with a few other players and suddenly found himself without a ball. Annabeth found this the perfect moment to make her move.

Percy bolted, and Annabeth chased him around the gym. He finally stopped and turned towards her, hands in the air and smiling that smile that made her weak in the knees. Annabeth hesitated, her first mistake.

"I give up, oh great Annabeth Chase. Athena will take great pride in her daughter for winning this battle," he said. Annabeth lowered her arm, which had been poised to throw. This was her second mistake.

"What are you trying to do, Seaweed Brain?" she questioned. Percy flashed her another grin.

"Trying to teach my Wise Girl a lesson in letting her guard down," he laughed.

"Oh, Styx-" Annabeth was suddenly pelted by three different dodge balls thrown by Lee, Shayne, and Max. Reluctantly, she sat down in front of the laughing boys. "I'll get you back for this!" she shouted after them as they ran off to continue the game.

Annabeth scolded herself for acting so out of character.

"Athena always has a plan..." she muttered to herself. And a plan she made.

She purposefully stayed out the rest of the game, formulating her new attack plan. Hopefully, Percy noticed this. She wanted him to be worried about what she was going to do next.

The game ended with Percy as the winner. As they restarted the game with him in the center, he gave Annabeth a wink. Annabeth laughed. She had already told Jess, Gabby, and Kimberlee her plan. Percy Jackson isn't the only person allowed to form alliances.

The game started, and Annabeth grabbed two dodge balls. Shayne bent down to pick up a ball and Annabeth took her chance to get him out. "Payback's a bitch!" she called as he ran to find her next targets.

She purposefully avoided Percy. He had a special role at the end of her plan.

Annabeth was able to get out Lee and a few other boys before she was hit. She had been in a showdown with Max, and right as she dodged his throw, another ball hit her in the arm.

"Always be aware of your surroundings, Wise Girl!" Percy called. Annabeth only smiled. He jogged up to where she was sitting. "You know, you could take some of these tips into account with your sword fighting, too," he teased. Annabeth laughed and shook her head. He so has it coming, she thought.

Kimberlee got Annabeth a ball, and by getting another boy out, she was back in the game. They continued to play until there were only three players left: Annabeth, Percy, and Jess. Annabeth was the only one with a ball.

Percy tried to catch her off guard with one of his smiles, but that wasn't working this time. With a wink at Percy, Annabeth whipped her ball at Jess. Jess reflexively caught it.

Annabeth worried her plan was ruined. She was sure a catch meant that she was out, that's how it was in regular dodge ball. However, Jess received a chorus of "Doesn't counts!" from the rest of the students, and she lowered herself to the floor with a shrug towards Annabeth.

Percy acquired a ball, and he threw it at Annabeth. Annabeth was able to dodge the ball and claim it as her own.

"So, Wise Girl, you and me again?" he asked.

"I hope you take notes," was all she answered, and she charged. She and Percy threw their balls at the same time.

Annabeth yelled, "Now!" as she dropped to the ground, and every girl with a ball threw it right at Percy. About 10 dodge balls hit him from every angle.

"I hope you learned your lesson, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth teased, walking over to her boyfriend. "I catch on quick."

The class played a few more, less intense, games before they had to go change. In the locker room, all the girls were still exhilarated about teaming up on Percy.

"That was the best thing that ever happened in gym class. The Annabeth vs. Percy showdown!" Gabby exclaimed. The girls laughed.

"Towards the end it was more like boys vs. girls," noted Kimberlee. The girls exchanged multiple comments about how girls were awesome before they exited the locker room into the gym to wait for the bell to ring.

Annabeth spotted Percy and pulled him to the side so they could talk privately. "Hello, I'm Annabeth Chase, spiderball champion." He laughed.

"And yet you would still run from a spider," he teased. Annabeth smacked his arm. "Too far, sorry sweetie," he said, sickeningly sweet.

"Ugh, stick to Wise Girl, Seaweed Brain," she commented.

"Fine, but I want revenge. Next time we're at camp, we're sparring."

"Of course."

"And I'm gonna kick your butt."

"Whatever you say."

"Love you, Wise Girl."

"Love you too, Seaweed Brain."

And then the bell rang for fourth period.
