A/N: ...Next chapter will be much longer. By the way, for inspiration, I was watching some of the flashback episodes that Vegeta and Frieza had to better the chapter. I had forgotten that King Vegeta and his son were in Frieza's spaceship during Bardock's assassination attempt of Frieza. Please keep that in mind as I attempt to rectify that.

With a grunt, Vegeta tensed his arms and released the hold he was putting on his own energy. Even Frieza was surprised at this turn of events.

"980,000!?" Frieza shouted, indignant. "Preposterous!" The tyrant took off his scouter, crushing it in the process.

This isn't King Vegeta, Frieza seethed inwardly. In fact, he'd just nearly killed the king when the Saiyan royal demanded an audience from him. Was this the Prince? But he looked much older, perhaps close to the king's age. Then he must be a relative. A foolish one at that.

"I don't know who you think you are, but once I kill all of you, your whole race of monkeys are next!"

"Keep talking, Frieza. Continue to underestimate me. You're in for a rude awakening," Vegeta retorted. He had his arms crossed as he hovered, a smirk forming on his lips.

With clenched fists, Frieza floated slightly higher into the air, growling under his breath. "You are the one underestimating me!" Frieza argued, speeding towards Vegeta with a balled fist outstretched.

Vegeta grew serious and readied his posture to counterattack. Frieza's first punch hit open space, having been easily evaded by the Prince.

"You know, we've fought before."

"I highly doubt that!" Frieza retorted, pointing his index finger and launching a Death Beam at him. With ease, Vegeta leaned his head to the side, the blast passing harmlessly through space.

"Quit playing games, Frieza. I know you're not fighting at full power. Why don't you show us your true form?"

"What!?" Bardock shouted. His true form!? "Frieza had his power suppressed this whole time!?"

"I've already killed the King, merely minutes ago. If you're so eager to join him, I'll be happy to oblige!"

"What?" Vegeta's eyes widened at this news. That's right, Vegeta remembered when he first battled Frieza on Namek and he was told that his father attempted to rebel against the tyrant before being killed. That must mean his father was alive less than an hour ago...

Although there wasn't much he could do about it, Vegeta was pissed that he was this close to at least even seeing his father alive.

"That will have been the last Saiyan you will ever murder, Frieza!" Clenching his fists, he turned his head toward Goku.

"I change my mind, Kakarot! He's mine!"

Goku hesitated only for a second before nodding. "He's got this, dad," Goku said, turning to his father.

Vegeta waited while Frieza began to transform, eventually reaching his final form. Bardock was horrified the moment Frieza had reached his second form, his scouter having already exploded. His son was completely calm however, not having showed any signs of worry, even after Frieza's transformation was complete.

This is ridiculous! Bardock thought inwardly, staring off into space with clenched fists. I was nowhere near close enough to Frieza's true strength! And to think I thought I could take him! The father of Goku knew very well that this wasn't the two other Saiyans' fault, but he couldn't help but feel the slightest bit insulted at how outclassed he was compared to them. There was nothing he could do at the moment but watch the battle unfold.

"Sorry to keep you waiting. In appreciation, I'll be sure to make your death swift and as painful as possible," Frieza sneered, readying his fists at his side.

Vegeta responded by settling into his own fighting stance.

"You're implying you have a chance to kill me," the Saiyan prince replied. A stand off then began, either opponent sizing up the other. Neither moved for several seconds.

Then they both disappeared simultaneously, reappearing at random locations, fists and feet clashing with each other at random instances. To the spectators, if the eye was untrained it would look like either opponent's limbs were attacking everywhere. At the moment, both seemed evenly matched.

Frieza threw a punch, connecting with Vegeta's cheek, who took the attack in stride and clipped Frieza in the jaw.

The Arcosian tyrant growled in frustration. "How are you keeping up with me!? None of you should even be close to my strength!"

"Are you feeling worried, Frieza?" Vegeta asked after a pause. But it came out more as an observation. "You should be, for you're facing a Super Saiyan."

"What!?" While Frieza shouted this, Bardock yelled it inwardly. Super Saiyans!?

"Don't! D-don't you dare insult me! Super Saiyans don't exist! You're delusional!" Frieza shouted, indignant.

"Are you saying that to convince me, or yourself?" Vegeta retorted. "I am Vegeta, prince of all Saiyans, and you murdered my father! It's about time I've returned the favor and destroyed you!" Tensing his whole body, Vegeta began to concentrate, reigning in all of his negative emotion and channeling into his own ki. Purposefully, he let the transformation drag out a bit. He, Goku, and their families had already mastered Super Saiyan form, but he wanted to make Frieza more afraid. (Cue Vegeta's theme "Hells bells" - I suggest playing it on youtube right now.)

With a final shout, Vegeta's Ki exploded outward, his aura becoming much more visible and adopting a golden hue.

"No! No!" Frieza asserted, homing in on Vegeta with all of his strength. It looked as though the attack connected, but Frieza only hit an afterimage.

"Behind you!" Vegeta yelled before unleashing the energy stored in his palm. The wave of Ki enveloped Frieza and only a fading shout was heard before no evidence of Frieza being there remained.

"It's still unsatisfying," Vegeta mumbled before the golden aura surrounding him evaporated and his hair color faded to black. His eyes which were momentarily a bright green reverted to black as well.

Bardock remained silent throughout the battle that just concluded, millions of thoughts rushing through his mind. It was his first time seeing a Super Saiyan. Did all Super Saiyans look like that? Was his son one of them? Bardock glanced at his son, whom had adopted a serious reflective expression. Bardock looked away, deciding that he'll find out later. First he needed to find out how the two of them even ended up in this time.

"Vegeta, I can sense some other people in the ship. It kinda feels like yours, and some other ones I'm not familiar with."

Vegeta nodded in reply to Goku's assessment after momentary hesitation. Even after killing Frieza, he still felt like there was something he still needed to do. But what was it? Why did he feel unsatisfied? No matter, Vegeta thought. If anything, this whole ordeal was irrelevant to getting back to their own time in the first place. No matter how temporarily fun it was to destroy Frieza as a Super Saiyan...

"Looks like we have company," Bardock said aloud. The other two saiyans had looked the other direction to see that some other Saiyans, possibly curious as to the clash of powers earlier were coming from.

"So much for keeping a low profile," Goku sighed. The Saiyans that had came to check out the commotion wore shocked expressions on their faces. Had they seen the battle between Vegeta and Frieza just moments ago?

A/N: I understand if the chapter seems just the least bit rushed. I was trying to figure out how to end the chapter. I also know the chapter isn't that much longer than the last one. It's a bit difficult trying to extend the chapters in this story without the content seeming repetitive.

Also, please give me feedback and suggestions. I'm planning to have Vegeta and Goku meet their respective parent(s).
