This story starts at the end of season 10, and of course as the title suggests it begins 5 years after season 10.
Chapter 4 - The first scan.
The morning of Monica's first ultrasound scan has finally arrived and neither her or Chandler can wait to see their child together for the first time, They are at the table just eating breakfast together and talking about what they are going to do today after the scan. "What do you want to do today after we see him or her?" Chandler asks "We could always go shopping for the baby." Monica suggests "That would be nice, but isn't it a little early to be buying things though?" Chandler asks "Well its not too early to buy some clothes and blankets. But we don't need to be buying furniture yet either, besides we still have some of the furniture from when the twins were smaller." Monica said "I just thought, We could buy a really nice picture frame and put a scan of the baby inside it so he or she is in our house even if its not quite born yet." Chandler suggested "Awwwwww! That is such a sweet brilliant idea. I love it." Monica said back to her husband of 8 years. "I think we should have the gang over for dinner tonight if all goes well at the appointment." Monica said a couple of minutes later whilst picking up her plate and Chandlers to put them into the dishwasher. "Yeah its a great idea, I think it would be fun all of us haven't been together in a while well not at our house anyway." Chandler said whilst taking the plates off her and proceeding to put them into the dishwasher himself. "I can put a few plates into the dishwasher you know." Monica said to him angrily "Sorry, I just want you to relax and everything to be okay." Chandler explains. "Alright. Well we should be getting ready soon we have to be there in 2 hours and you know what my moms like when she gets going and talking." Monica tells him whilst going out of the room and up-stairs to get the twins and herself ready.
The phone starts to ring so Chandler goes to pick it up "Hello, Bing residents. How may I help you?" Chandler answered the phone "Seriously dude! You still answer the phone like that, You don't have to do everything your wife tells you to do." Ross said on the other end of the phone. "No, I say it because I want to. Whats up?" Chandler replies "Are you and Monica going to be around later because we wanted to know whether you want to come to Central Perk with us?" Ross asked "Sure, Monica and I have the scan to check on the baby today and we are going shopping later on but we wanted to have all of you over after actually for dinner." Chandler explains "Great, We could all meet in the coffee house and then sort out dinner later. I have to go and get ready now but i'm sure Monica and Rachel will be texting all day." Chandler says goodbye and so does Ross before hanging up. Monica comes down the stairs with Erica in her arms "Hey Pumpkin, So Mon Ross and the gang want to meet us at Central Perk later on after the scan." Chandler said whilst taking Erica off Monica to give her morning cuddles like they always do. "That sounds good, Are they coming to dinner after?" Monica asked "Ross said that Rachel will probably text you about it in a bit." Chandler said "Okay, You should go and get ready. When you come back down please bring Jack with you and get his breakfast ready, I shall get Erica hers now." Monica says whilst Chandler puts Erica down on the floor forgetting that she is 5 and can walk by herself. "I always forget how old they are, growing up too fast." Chandler said before going upstairs to get himself and help Jack get ready.
A couple of hours later
Monica and Chandler are in the room that they will be seeing their baby in for the first time ever, they are just waiting for the doctor to come in. "Is it me or is she taking a long time to get the results of blood test and everything." Monica asked "No of course not, She is probably just waiting for them to come back perhaps it is busy in the lab today at the moment." Chandler said reassuring her just thinking to himself hoping that everything is alright. The doctor knocks on the door and enters the room, she smiles at them and takes a seat. "So I got your results back and everything is all completely normal." Doctor Long said to them smiling, both Monica and Chandler breathed a sigh of relief. "How has everything been going with your health lately?" Doctor Long asks Monica "It has all been good, I haven't been having much morning sickness recently which is great." Monica said "Now I understand you had a few fertility issues which is why we shall be keeping an eye on you more during this pregnancy but it is nothing to worry about because I am sure its all going to be okay." Doctor Long explains "We understand that. I would prefer it to have more appointments anyway." Monica said. "Great so shall we get on with the ultrasound?" Doctor Long questions but also tells them. "The gel will probably be really cold" Doctor long warns Monica "Thats okay." Monica said whilst Doctor Long put the gel on and stared using the wand on Monica and a blurry black and white picture came up on the screen. Monica and Chandler were both speechless and really happy. "I assume you want more than one picture, I shall just go and print some off for you." Doctor Long said using it as an excuse to give Monica and Chandler some time alone together.
That night.
Monica and Chandler are back at their house with all of their friends with them, They decided to leave the twins at Monicas parents for the night which they were fine with. "Should we just order take out, it would make it so much easier than having to cook quite a lot of food." Phoebe asks "Yeah, It has been a really long day and I cant be bothered to even cook tonight." Monica said "Wow are you feeling alright, you always want to cook whether we are or have been busy or not." Chandler asks. "I am fine, just a little tired thats all." Monica replied whilst they all went into the living room to sit down and relax. "Lets order Chinese food." Ross suggested to his friends. "Sounds like a great idea to me.'' Joey said whilst licking his lips "You always want food and everything always sounds good to you joey" Rachel said. After they had all eaten they all relaxed and decided to hang out and just stay the night. "The baby is doing really good, We have to have extra check ups because of our issues we went through but so far everything is all healthy with the baby and me." Monica tells everyone. they all reply with aww thats good or yay. Everyone is very happy and they all went to bed that night with smiles on their faces.
