This story starts at the end of season 10, and of course as the title suggests it begins 5 years after season 10.
Chapter 6 - First kicks.
Central Perk.
Monica has one of those rare days where she is able to be in the city to go shopping, chill out and take some quailty time with Rachel and Phoebe with no children with them well apart from the child she is currently pregnant with but that's different. Monica has decided to pop into Central Perk for a lovely hot chocolate while waiting for Rachel and Phoebe to turn up. Whilst drinking her drink she reads the book about pregnancy that she recently bought. Gunther comes over to take away some mugs from tables near her and notices she looks upset so asks her what is wrong. "Oh nothing, I'm just reading this book and apparently after pregnancy women don't go back to how they were before like their size and stuff." Monica said sadly "Ahhh right. Yeah that sucks doesn't it Rachels friend. I remember when my wife had our child she didn't go back for a long time still not how she was before." Gunther commented. "You don't know my name? Its Monica and that sucks, I didn't know you had a child." Monica commented back "Yes I got a 1 year old daughter. She will be one on the 13th April." Gunther tells her "Wait you know that April 13th is today right?" Monica asked "Urm yeah sure. Oh man I completely forgot, are you shopping today? Gunther said not too sure about the date. "Yes I am. Why?" Monica answered with a question "Could you possibly pick something up for me for her birthday?" Gunther asked with hope in his voice "Sure, Teddies or clothes anything like that right?" Monica asked as Gunther handed her some money for the presents "That would be great thanks." Gunther said smiling "I got to go off to the baby store soon anyway so I can drop off your stuff in here after I finished." Monica said "Why do you need to go to a baby store, I thought your kids were too old for the things in there. " Gunther asked "I am pregnant, Chandler and I are having a baby and need to start getting ready to buy things for him or her." Monica said whilst drinking the last of the hot chocolate in her mug. Gunther nods and continues collecting empty mugs and plates to wash them, Rachel and Phoebe enter the coffee house and sit near Monica to meet her to go shopping a bit later.
A while later the girls are all shopping when Monica remembers that she has to get something for Gunther for his daughter. "I just remembered Gunther asked me to buy something for his daughters birthday today." Monica said "Okay, so clothes lets go to that section I saw the cutest dress earlier." Rachel said grabbing her shopping trolly and practically running toward the clothing section with it. Monica and Phoebe just walked behind slowly. "I think he wanted some cuddly toys for her too so one of us could go and get some of those." Monica suggests once her and Phoebe have caught up with Rachel looking at this really pretty dress with flowers on. "Or we could go over there all together RJ needs some new toys and Emma is getting bored with the few toys she has for her dolls house and wants too add more to her collection." Rachel suggests. "Sounds good to me."Phoebe said "Chandler won't be home until late tonight and his mom has the twins so I am good to stay later." Monica told them. After they had picked up everything they wanted and paid for it all, they dropped off Gunther s presents for him in Central Perk.
That night - Monica and Chandlers house
Monica and Chandler are sitting in the living room after dinner and are talking about everything. "What did your boss say about you not taking the promotion in London?" Monica asked "He said that I am missing out on a really great opportunity but he understood that family comes first especially now with a baby on the way and everything. Altough he did keep trying to convince me and change my mind throughout the day but I firmly said no thank you" Chandler told his wife. "Wow so he really wanted you to take it then. What happened next?" Monica asked "Nothing, not really." Chandler said trying to hide a small smile slipping from his lips. "CHANDLER, I know something happened so you best tell me." Monica said annoyed "I was offered the same promotion over here in the offices here as to what I would have been doing in London." Chandler said finally letting a smile come through "Thats amazing. You took it right?" Monica asked now smiling a lot too. "Of course I did, I wouldn't miss this opportunity especially since it is here now." "Thats so great, I am very proud of you and happy for you." Monica said "How did shopping with Rach and Pheebs go?" Chandler asked "It went well. Everything we need I ordered and it should be here from 4 -14 days." Monica said "Thats great. Did you hear that princess we got you everything you need." Chandler said whilst rubbing Monicas stomach. "Princess, so you think its a girl then?" Monica asked "Of course I do. If I am wrong that's bad but I think it will be good either way but it would be great to have a daughter, not that Erica isn't great but..." Monica cuts him off before he can finish "I think it is a girl too." they sit there for a few minutes with Chandlers hand still stroking Monicas stomach "Did you feel that?" Chandler asked "Of course I did. Awwww our babys first kick, I'm so glad you were here for it and felt it" Monica said smiling. "She is kicking loads, lets hope she isn't a soccer player or football player would be strange for a girl." Chandler said "Yeah. Lets go to bed I am super tired and besides I have a present for you that I bought today whilst out shopping." Monica said smiling getting up and walking towards the stairs taking Chandlers hand dragging him upstairs with her.
