This story starts at the end of season 10, and of course as the title suggests it begins 5 years after season 10, of course is the re-write. Just wondering if anyone likes this better than the original one and why? If not how could I possibly improve it?
Chapter 7 - The Hospital Trip
Westchester - Monica and Chandlers house.
Monica, and Chandler are at home and are having a lovely evening together on a double date with Mike and Phoebe which is nice since they are all usually busy and don't have time for it much. They all always enjoy it when they get to hang out together since Mike is now very involoved in the friends lives and has become a 7th member of the gang. Jack and Erica were upstairs in their bedrooms playing when Mike and phoebe arrived and were told not to bother the two couples too much as they all want grown up time for grown up talk, Which the twins agreed to but they are allowed down to come to the toilet, get a drink or snack the usual needs. Jack comes down to get a glass of water and starts up a conversation with his "Uncle Mike" as he gets called and always has by the twins. "hey Uncle Mike. How are you?" Jack asks politely "I am very well thank you, How about yourself?" Mike replies happily whilst looking at the child "Did you know that my mommy and daddy are having a baby?" Jack asks whilst drinking some of his water waiting for an answer "Yes We did know that. Aunt Phoebe and I are very happy for them too." Phoebe said whilst smiling at her friends "Oh mom Erica told me to tell you that she isn't feeling well and wanted to go to sleep." Jack told his mother before putting his cup on the counter and going back up to his bedroom. "I better go and check on her, you can all go into the living and I shall clean up later" Monica said whilst leaving the table and heading upstairs too see to her sick daughter. "Wow Monica told us we can leave our dirty plates and things on the side. Are you sure its not her who is sick not Erica?" Phoebe asked whilst they all got up to go into the living room.
Ericas Bedroom.
Monica lightly knocked on Ericas bedroom door before entering as to not disturb her too much if she is sleeping, Monica entered the room and saw Erica curled up in a ball in her winter quilt shaking and watching tv. "Hey baby, Jacky said that you wasn't feeling well." Monica said to her little girl who looks so small wrapped up in that huge quilt. "I am freezing cold, I keep coughing and sneezing, I also have a really painful tummy. It sucks mommy, I feel so unwell." Erica replies quietly to her mom. "I need to take your temprature, so you shall have to sit up for a moment and still so I can get a proper reading." Monica said to her baby-girl and helped her to sit up, the Thermomater beeped to say that it was done and Monica read the reading as 101.0 "Oh my, Erica sweetie I know you probably are really cold but you will need to take off the quilt and blanket because your temprature is very high sweetie." Monica said gently trying to keep her young child calm. "I am going to get you some medicine and then I shall be right back." Monica said and walked out of the room to the bathroom got some tylenol and calpol to give to Erica. "Here we go sweetie, now just relax and sleep. If you need anything I shall be right downstairs." Monica said whilst letting Erica go back to sleep. Monica quickly pops acrosss the hall and asks Jack to keep and eye on Erica and let them know if she looks really sick just in case.
Living room
Monica enters the living room and takes a seat next to Chandler on the couch, and joins in the finishing conversation the three were having soon the conversation changes to Monica and Chandlers children. "How is Erica?" Chandler asks "She has a really high temprature, a tummy ache and keeps feeling cold. I gave her some medicine and let her go to sleep, Jack said he will keep an eye out for her." Monica explained to them "Well at least she is resting thats the best thing." Mike said "So have you two thought of a name for the baby yet?" Phoebe asked "Not quite yet, but we have got a few lined up." Monica told her friends "Cool so what are they?" Mike wonders "They are..." before Chandler could finish Monica interupped him "HEY, CHANDLER YOU REMEMBER WE DECIDED NOT TO TELL ANYONE." Monica butted in. "I'm sorry, please stop yelling don't want Erica to wake up" Chandler said "Sorry." The house phone starts to ring and it stops quite quickly assuming Jack has answered it upstairs they go back to the conversation. "Mom it is Aunt Rachel on the phone for you." Jack said whilst coming into the living room handing Monica the phone, on the other end Rachel speaks "It is really important, There has been an accident. Joey got knocked over buy a car outside Central Perk." "Oh my god, That is terrible We will be right at the hospital" Monica replies shocked "We are at beht Isreal, Come to the third floor and I will meet you there."Rachel said kind of rushed. "Oh wait, Erica is sick so someone has to stay here with her and Jack. I will sort something out, see you in a bit." Monica said panicked. "Jack could you go next door and ask Mrs Brown if she could come and take care of you and Erica for a bit please, tell her it in important if she can do it." Monica asked Jack calmly after hanging up the phone from Rachel after Jack left she explained to the others what had happened and they all got ready to leave. Jack came back home with Mrs Brown a few minutes later "Thank you so much for taking care of them, one of our friends has been in an accident, Erica isn't feeling to well but Jack is keeping and eye on her and will let you know if she gets worse if so call me and I shall be straight home." Monica explains to the elderly lady as she gets her jacket "It is no problem, I would rather be here with these two cuties than at home by myself just staring at the tv for hours on end." Mrs Brown tells them. "We really appreciate it." Monica said as they all walked out of the front door closing it on the way out leaving Mrs Brown to go into the living room and take care of the twins.
In the car on way to hospital.
Monica is sitting in the passenger seat in front of the car, Chandler is driving and Phoebe and Mike are in the back noboody has said anything since they all found out what has happened to their best friend. Phoebe was first to break the silence with one of her strange comments "I knew something was wrong or going to be bad, my hair didn't grow at all yesterday" "Really, you measure the length of your car Pheebs?" Mike asked "You live with her and you didn't notice something as weird as that?" Chandler asked Mike. "No not really." Mike replied "I am so shocked that something like this has happened though, We always told him to watch the road and make sure he crosses carefully and only on zebra crossings when no cars are coming." Monica said "Yes but you know Joey, he is like a child sweetheart and he will do whatever he wants to do." Chandler told his wife. "I guess I thought he would have more common sense than to just cross the road without looking." Phoebe said. "We are almost here now so lets all get ready to go and see him." Mike said.
Four hours later in the hospital.
The gang are all sitting in the family waiting room, all have been waiting for quite a long time and are getting restless. They just want to either see their friends or have someone come and tell them how he is but that isn't happening, since Ross, Mike and Monica have all been up to the reception to ask them to get his doctor to come and see them to talk them through Joeys injuries. "I am going to get something to eat from the vending machine" Rachel said she wasn't hungry just wanted to go and get out of the room as she has been staring at the same four walls for at least 3 and a half hours. "Okay, you need some change?" Ross asked her "No, I have some thanks" Rachel replied getting up about to walk out of the room when a doctor came in and asked them if they were there for Joey, this prompted her to sit back down with news on her friends condition. "We certianlly here for Joey, Waiting long enought for some information so hoping you have some for us" Chandler said worridly as the doctor sits down on a chair "I have news, Mr Tribbiani should generally be fine althoguh he has a broken collar bone, a broken leg and has cracked a few ribs. He also has a lot of bruising but that should go down within the next couple of weeks. Does anyone have any questions?" The doctor asks "Will he be okay?" Mike asked "He should be fine, although he may need someone to care for him for a while as broken ribs are very painful and with that broken leg he will only be able to stay on one floor." Doctor replied "I am sure he can stay with us for a while until he is better right Mon?" Chandler asked her silently pleading to himself. "Fine, but only until he gets better it will be very crowded at our house soon I guess." Monica replies. "Does anyone want to see Mr Tribbiani, I am sure you all do but only a few at a time." Doctor Riley asked "Monica, Chandler and Phoebe can go first since you are the closest to him. Then Mon and Chandler can go home to be with the kids." Ross suggests "Lets get going then, Follow me" Doctor Riley said whilst getting up as the first few to see Joey go.
Joey's Hospital room.
They all enter Joeys room and doctor Riley exits the room to give the four some privacy shutting the door behind him. "How are you feeling buddy?" Chandler aksed whilst sitting on the chair in Joeys room grabbing Monica and sitting her on his lap. "I'm coping, In a lot of pain. Actually feel as though I got hit by a bus not a car." Joey said trying to joke "Thats not funny, you could have been hurt a lot more seriously than you actually are." Phoebe said seriously. "Sorry, So that doctor is hot right?" Joeys asks Winking to Chandler. "Urm I guess, I am not really looking to be honest." Chandler said being careful about what he said since his wife is literally sitting on him. "Good choice of words there Chandler. So Joey, how do you feel about staying at ours for a while just until you heal since you won't be able to get up any stairs to your apartment." Monica told him "That sounds good to me, a lovely female caring for me. Giving me sponge baths and everything. ohhh so nice!" Joey said "Or not. There will be NO sponge baths." Monica said. "Awww, Wait do you have space for me?" Joey asked "Yeah, you can just sleep up in the spare bedroom." Chandler explained "Don't you need that for the baby?" JOey asked "Well yes but its not due for a while yet and if it comes to it the baby will either stay with us or Jack and Erica would have to stay for a while. It is no issue don't worry." Monica told him. "We should give you and peebs some time as you haven't really talked, See you later." Monica and Chandler said their goodbyes and left the hospital to go home to their children and get ready for Joey to stay with them.
Monica and Chandler go home and thankfully and out that after a lot of rest Erica is feeling a lot better, they thank Mrs Brown for taking care of them and start to get ready for Joey to come stay for a while.
