Once again, be brutally honest with reviews. I'm not going to be offended. If you don't like a character in the story, please explain why and I will try my best to make them as in-character to the DBZ universe as possible!
P.S. : Give me some suggestions for what could happen next, guys! I will definitely consider them!
"At long last," Vegeta nearly shouted with excitement. "I'm one step closer to getting out of here!" His fists were clenched and his posture was rigid as he walked with a purpose through the Science facilty district. There were a multitude of buildings and store fronts on either side of him as he walked with purpose. He almost laughed when dealing with the two guards who tried to stop him this time. After having shown his resolve to walk right past the two, the guards seemed to have grown some backbone and lunged at him.
Nothing a backhand couldn't fix.
Vegeta's arms were folded as he walked along the road. The town-like district did not have many lower class Saiyans milling about. There were only a few that could be spotted occasionally, and they were usually there to recover in a rejuvenation chamber. Vegeta was thankful for this, as the main beings running about would be Doctors and Scientists. Even they recognized him immediately though, and although they tried their best not to gawk, they allowed him a wide perimeter of space.
Finally, he came to a stop in front of an Engineering warehouse. The inside of the building was extremely spacious, and the ceiling was hundreds of feet up, with several floors along the way up the building. The whole building was well lit and sparks could be seen flying off of objects as individuals with welders and other tools worked on Space Pods, Scouters, and a mass of other things all over the building. Deciding that the area with the Space Pods would be his best bet, he wasted no time and walked impatiently over to them.
The Space Pods were towards the left of the large interior of the building, lain unceremoniously on the ground and surrounded by Engineers and Craftsmen.
As he closed in, the workers slowly began to cease working as they regarded him cautiously. Apparently, his big achievement of assassinating Frieza had spread very quickly.
"Who here is the lead Scientist?" He asked aloud, arms remaining folded.
The collection of beings were initially silent, but one spoke up. He was a man of average height, human-like skin and possessed a graying beard and bald head. Vegeta could tell that he was a veteran scientist. His eyes, while bordered by developing wrinkles, were definitely the witness of a lot of experience. "Ah, yes. I am Riki," he answered, introducing himself.
Vegeta nodded in acknowledgement, turning his full attention to him.
"I am in need of an inventory of all thruster engine technology that you have. I'm not from...here," Vegeta said cryptically. Saying that he was from the Future wouldn't be relevant right now. "I'll need whatever devices that can increase power output."
As Vegeta listed the categories of devices he needed, The lead scientist nodded in understanding. Many of the engineers on either side of him however, didn't look as confident and wore expressions of uncertainty.
"But sir, this is the Saiyan the queen barred from entering the district," an alien scientist whispered harshly to Riki. Vegeta growled under his breath, but did not betray the fact that he clearly heard him.
The elder man looked down at the ground intensely before nodding his head and sighing. "Alright, I will have the inventory by tomorrow. My team will be able to procure 2/3rd's of the inventory," he said, much to the shock of his acquaintances.
Vegeta nodded, explaining that he would be back the next day before vacating the premises.
"But sir! Why did you that? The Queen will kill us for this if she finds out!" A human looking scientist complained. He was resisting the urge to pace back and forth.
"Which is why none of you will speak of what has happened! The Queen is dangerous, no doubt, but that man is far more powerful," The elderly scientist retorted, running his hand down his beard thoughfully. A bead of sweat found it's way down the side of his face. These next few days would be stressful indeed.
Vegeta quickly vacated the science district, having gotten tired of all of those scientists' presence early on. He was now walking along the main road that branched off in almost every direction, ranging from cities, to other districts, and the palace itself. The main he road was walking along now was full of armor fitting stores and taverns, and none of the other locations were really appealing to him.
"I wonder how Kakarot is doing," He muttered as he continued walking with his hands in his pockets. The streets were thankfully empty around the area. He wouldn't have to be annoyed by stares.
"He's probably having the time of his life with his parents," Vegeta grumbled. Of course, he got to meet both his parents, but Vegeta is stuck with his mother, who seemed to be a bigger tool than he remembered. Well, he couldn't really say he hated her or anything. Vegeta sighed, knowing that Queen Okra must have had a reason for trying to bar him from certain areas of the planet.
Of course, she was the Queen. It probably just didn't look right with him just being anywhere he pleased on the planet after having just killed their 'employer'. He was reminded of the time his father had to entertain a guest. A purple skinned alien that had a face reminiscent of the Jackal in Egyptian hieroglyphs.
He had to admit, he'd never had any real formal training in Royal etiquette except the mere basics. And his mother proved to be more observational than he thought, having found out that he was her son, no matter how improbable and impossible it seemed under the circumstances.
"Vegeta."
Vegeta's brow lowered and he stopped walking to survey his surroundings.
No one was present. He thought he'd heard his name being uttered for a second...
Narrowing his eyes, he kept walking.
He shoved his hands back in his pockets staring ahead at nothing in particular as he wondered what he'd do until tomorrow. He didn't feel like bothering to look for Nappa, and wasn't really in the mood to talk with anyone. He didn't feel up to training, and wished there was a gravity chamber on the planet.
"Vegeta!"
This time he was sure he heard a voice, and could tell it was distinctly feminine. So it wasn't Kakarot.
"Who-"
A fist crashed into the side of his face, knocking him off of his feet. He sailed through the air before skidding along the ground. Fortunately, he had braced himself in time and managed to land on his back and avoid scraping his arms. Grumbling under his breath, he got back to his feet, the slightest bit dizzy from the sucker punch. He grabbed the left side of his face -which he noted was the same side that was punched earlier today- and growled irritably.
Gods dammit! It was going to bruise again!
Looking to his left and right, he stretched his senses outward, looking for a nearby Ki signature.
Right behind him.
Leaping to the side and landing onto his feet, he then heard a crash sound from where he first stood. It was the woman he fought, well more like curbstomped, earlier at the Palace, her right foot lodged ankle deep into the ground.
If that kick would have landed, that would have been quite painful.
"What do you want, woman? You're outclassed!"
Apparently, she didn't like his words, and she pulled her foot out of the ground in one clean movement before sprinting towards him with an angered growl.
Vegeta clicked his teeth and stepped toward her but to the side and stepping forward. Burokori ended up missing her mark completely and Vegeta took this moment to sidekick her in the back. This launched her momentum even further beyond her control, and she crashed into a nearby wall of rock.
Vegeta slowly lowered his leg, watching the crash site intently. There was a plume of dust rising from the collision spot, but Vegeta could sense her Ki clearly. Surprisingly, it was much higher than last time. He couldn't get a sense of "numbers" but, she was probably about what, a fifth of Frieza's first form in power?
That in itself was a little disturbing. Still no challenge to him or Kakarot, but she was easily more powerful than any other other Saiyans on the planet. How'd she have such a drastic increase in strength?
"How'd you get so strong!?" the woman demanded, pulling herself out of the rubble, staggering momentarily from the force of Vegeta's blow.
How in the hell is she recovering so quickly?
I should you be asking you that question. Vegeta simply scowled. "None of your business. Stop following me and piss off!" Vegeta turned to leave, but Burokori charged at him yet again. Vegeta stopped and turned around with a punch ready, but she surprised him by parrying and grabbing his punching arm, locking it behind his back in a hold. Vegeta cursed himself for even falling for such a simple maneuver.
"Tell me," she ordered, breathing in his ear. Vegeta laughed in response.
"Please. Don't insult me and think you have me at a disadvantage!"
"You're bluffing. Now tell me how you did it!" she demanded, attempting to emphasize her point by tighenting her hold on his arm. The hold on his arm was slightly painful, but he ignored it and flung his head backwards, colliding it with her forehead. The tall woman grunted in pain and let go of his arm on reflex to clutch at her forehead. Turning around, Vegeta punched forward, almost forgetting to hold back a bit, and knocked her off her feet for the third time today, her body crashing into a cliff face.
"I don't have time for this," he said harshly, walking off and not bothering to stay where he was. She could keep getting knocked out for all he cared, if all she was going to do was follow him around like he insulted her!
He hadn't even taken four steps before laughter could be heard before the sound of moving rocks. Vegeta's left eye twitched in annoyance as he whirled around. Burokori was staggering to her feet again, this time having a few cuts on her face to show for Vegeta's lack of restraint. Vegeta's eyebrows knitted in frustration. That would have been enough power to at least worry Frieza. While she couldn't necessarily keep up with his strength, she wouldn't stay down!
"I like strong men," she said before charging at him again. Vegeta made a face at her declaration, preparing to cut loose with his next punch. She wasn't going to die, but she'd definitely be hurting after this one. This woman was disturbing him more than he'd like to admit and she needed to go to sleep.
He hopped forward, thrusting his fist forward before she even got near, attempting to stop her with just the concussive force of the attack. Burokori crossed her arms in front of her, managing to block the attack for the most part. It didn't knock her off her feet, but it decelerated her charge at the Prince. Vegeta was mildly surprised that she hadn't been put out of commission.
He scowled before charging in with a barrage of punches kicks. The Saiyaness was by no means quite up to Vegeta's standard in speed, but managed to block most of his attacks while landing lucky but mostly ineffectual strikes.
Sensing that this wasn't getting anywhere, Vegeta skipped backwards out of Burokori's reach. He could tell Burokori was slightly out of breath, but that still left him a bit annoyed at how she was still conscious. "This is your last warning! Go away!" he shouted.
The woman smiled and bit her bottom lip in some sort of anticipation before charging at him again.
Dammit, this woman was asking for it!
Vegeta parried and evaded, noting that she was going for grapples more than strikes now. He didn't like what that implied. "Dammit, go bother someone else before I murder you!"
"I never fought a guy so much stronger than me," she replied, almost as if ignoring his threat. She continued to make grabs at him, which Vegeta easily evaded before leaping backwards and throwing an orb of Ki towards her. It looked like it would connect until her visage seemed to flicker.
Gah, an afterimage, he thought coldly. It had been quite a while since he'd seen a move like that. Then again, he and Kakarot hadn't sparred in a while. Vegeta's eyes moved every which way, trying to spot where she escaped to, before an outstretched arm collided with his neck, throwing him to the ground.
He wasn't in much pain, but how the hell was he constantly getting caught off guard!?
The tall Saiyan was looming over him, a triumphant smile on her face.
"Tell me how you got so strong."
"Ever heard of personal space, woman!?" Vegeta nearly shouted in her face. She seemed to find this rather funny as she chuckled before leaning closer to him, tracing circles on his chest with a finger.
"I like strong men, you know," she whispered, repeating her declaration from earlier.
Doesn't all women, Vegeta thought, inwardly rolling his eyes. His face would have flushed if he weren't so angry right now. She had a lot of nerve coming onto him after trying to kill him twice. Not to mention that there was only one woman he'd ever let talk back to him. This Saiyan on top of him wasn't her.
"Tell me how you're so strong, or at least give me a kiss," she continued leaning even closer to him. Before she could do anything further, he thrust his head forward, effectively headbutting her, causing her to clutch at her forehead again. She grunted in a mixture of pain and annoyance at being hit twice in the same spot and Vegeta jumped to his feet. He threw a quick one-two punch at her, which she managed to block the first aimed toward or face, but not the one aimed at her stomach.
She doubled over and dropped to her knees in pain.
"You're out of your league," Vegeta sneered before turning to take his leave. "Attack me again and I'll break your arm!" he yelled and shot into the air. Vegeta couldn't wait until tomorrow! Once he got home, he'd be spending the whole day with Bulma whether she liked it or not! He attempted to prevent the color from reaching his face. No Saiyan woman ever tried to 'attack' him like that. If all Saiyan women were like that...He shuddered just thinking about it.
Back on the ground where he'd left Burokori, she was holding her stomach where she was punched by Vegeta. She was in too much pain to try standing up, and she felt like she'd probably pass out if she tried to at that very moment. No man, not even Paragus, was able to just brush her aside like that in combat. The thought made her angry but at the same time, she felt the compulsion to fight him again! She even almost managed to kiss him, which would have lead to something more fun. The pain in her stomach began to subside and she finally managed to stand up.
She was going to have him one way or another.
A/N: ...Haha, what did I just write?
Lol, don't hate me, I thought I'd be funny. Anyway, next chapter will get more serious, with Goku and Bardock's adventure. Will they get to Gine's rescue in time? Will Gine be able to hold her own against Dodoria?
Can Vegeta get fend off Burokori's advances? Wait, what?
P.S. :Be brutally honest with your reviews and Feedback, and give suggestions on anything that you believe would add to the story and I may consider it! 'Till next chapter!
