So now things escalate further.
"So like I said, Frieza's dead."
Raditz had listened intently to his father short recounting of recent events, including the part about an adult Kakarot and Vegeta having travelled back into the past.
But the greatest news of all was what piqued his interest in the first place.
"Finally," the young Saiyan cheered, restraining his excitement to being nearly giddy in his chair. "That bastard finally had it coming to him!"
"Raditz," his mother warned with a stern glare. Raditz sighed and rolled his eyes -making sure to do it with his eyes closed- at his mother's warning. It would only be his mother that'd be worried about colorful language within the house. Well, he'd be cursing like a space sailor as soon as he had a reason to be outside.
"Say," he added, something his father said returning to the front of his thoughts. "Did you say a time traveling Kakarot and prince Vegeta?"
Bardock half smiled in reply, grunting his confirmation. "You'll definitely have to meet your brother."
"He must have taken over the Planet Trade Organization in the future, am I right!? Or, or, he must have taken over dozens of planets!" Raditz interrogated, anticipating meeting this future Kakarot. He was almost giddy with excitement at the preospect of meeting his brother, who he'd actually never even met before. The anticipation was nearly killing him.
For the Saiyan patriarch, however, one could almost swear a too large drop of sweat dropped behind Bardock's head.
"Well, he's not exactly what you'd expect," he replied with a mental shrug, knowing that Kakarot's personality would definitely come as a surprise to his first born.
Raditz made a neutral sounding grunt of acknowledgement, not really suspicious of Bardock's choice of words.
"I'm guessing this means Nappa doesn't know yet," the young warrior guessed aloud. He then laughed heartily, still trying to wrap his mind around these turn of events.
"It feels good to know that no one's ordering us Saiyans around anymore," Raditz nodded to himself. "So who did the deed? Who killed Frieza?" he asked, looking between either of his parents for an answer.
"It was the King's kid," his father answered, marginally disappointed it wasn't his son that made the killing move.
"Either way, I can't wait to meet him!" Raditz decided confidently. He got up from his seat then, grabbing a bottle of a drink of some sort. "I'm sure he's super powerful by now. But the future though." At this point, Raditz was rambling, not really speaking to his parents at this point, wondering if such a thing as time travel was truly possible.
Bardock couldn't quite suppress a genuine grin from beginning to form at his firstborn's enthusiasm.
She really wished she'd brought her Scouter with her. As strong as she was compared to the average Saiyan, she wasn't adept at sensing Ki without the aid of that advanced eye wear. She could have used it to track down Vegeta, but she wouldn't know where he was. For all she knew, he could very well already be inside the ship. She had slowed down in her approach by now, opting to hover closer to the hull of the nearest ship. The frame was so large that it was difficult to find a way inside until she spotted the hangar bay. It was open but somehow blocked off by a barrier of some sort, that was transparent enough where you could view what was immediately on the other side. What looked like easily to be hundreds of smaller ships, perhaps fit for a crew of two were situated inside, all neatly parked in various columns and rows.
Testing the strength of the barrier, Burokori found that her palm passed right through the barrier with just the smallest amount of pressure, pointing to the fact that it may be there for atmospheric purposes than actual defense. Pushing herself through, she passed completely through without issue, deciding that she'd look for the Saiyan in the ship.
Common sense would dictate for a soldier boarding an enemy ship to exercise caution. But that rule didn't necessarily apply to Saiyans. They weren't known to be as strong as Cold's family, but Planet Vegeta was collectively a stronger planet than most compared to other races in the region of space.
The massive amount of soldiers who just so happened to be stationed at the hangar bay at the time or passing through, were frozen at their spots, unsure or afraid to respond to what was transpiring. Burokori walked towards the nearest door that would lead farther into the ship's interior, paying no one any mind.
A platoon of soldiers finally got themselves together, rushing to block that path towards the service lift.
"Y-you shouldn't be here!" came the assertion from whom was probably the strongest in the group. Everyone else remained silent, waiting for some hidden cue before taking action.
The Saiyan woman came to a stop, blocked off after being merely feet away from the door. She glanced around, quickly scanning the area without turning her head before locking her gaze onto the soldier who spoke. He was a strange looking alien, the back of his head somewhat elongated and his body seemed somewhat thin compared to the other warriors surrounding him.
"Are you talking to me?" Burokori asked after an uncomfortable silence. No one dared to say anything in reply to what seemed to be a ridiculous question. But considering the current situation, she could have been toying with them. It was no doubt that they already scanned her power level.
The braver soldier out of the many blocking Burokori's way spoke again, swallowing nervously. The intruder's gaze didn't waver at all, and she almost seemed to be staring through him. Perspiration began to trail down the side of his muted green forehead.
A fight handn't even begun, yet all of the soldiers could feel an intense pressure in the air.
"Grr...! I can't take this anymore! Why do you think we're here! This proves it doesn't it!?"
It wasn't Miel, the green one that had spoken, rather a taller and more warrior looking alien of the bunch. A somewhat muscular looking man with horn like growths on either side of his head.
"Didn't Lord Cooler tell us that they were willing to pick a fight!?" he continued, the soldiers that had gathered around him slowly building confidence. Burokori hadn't budged or made any movement at all since his little inspirational speech, and this didn't go unnoticed by him.
"Everyone! Charge!" the PTO soldier shouted with all of his might, simultaneously throwing a ki ball at the Saiyan.
Vegeta and Okra had finally neared a PTO frigate, most likely armed to the teeth with weaponry to invade the Saiyan homeworld. Since it had been at least an hour and no further movement had been made, he came to the conclusion that this wasn't an invasion, but rather an attempt to destroy or cripple the planet. The fleet was just far enough out of orbit that it would be easy to miss the vehicles floating just outside the atmosphere of Planet Vegeta. You would really only spot them if you were looking for them, or if you were high enough in the air as Vegeta and his mother were.
"Cooler's probably planning to bombard the surface from orbit," Okra observed aloud as they flew stealthily into the hangar bay. Once they touched down onto the hangar's surface, Vegeta reached out with his senses in order to find the best route to the command chair of the ship. He noticed that his mother's presence kept encroaching on his attempts at it. Her power no longer seemed to be rising as Broly's would, but it was very high compared to the other individuals he was having a hard time getting a read on.
"Mother!" Vegeta whispered harshly as they walked along the wall of the hangar, safely hidden by the large crates lining the perimeter.
"What?" she responded in kind, rushing somewhat to keep in step with her son's slightly longer strides.
"You need to suppress your power level! The moment these soldiers scan with there scouters, you'll lead them right to us!"
Okra exhaled in annoyance, making Vegeta want to do the same. "Couldn't you just destroy them?"
He could. He really could, but what was the point? His true target was Cooler, and the only way to find him was to interrogate a high ranking officer for his location. Besides, he didn't need Kakarot lecturing him if he went and murdered a weakling that didn't necessarily do anything to him.
"I need to find Cooler! Now just do it!" He ordered. "Act as if your energy is being funneled off somewhere to give the illusion," he added, coming to a stop at the end of the wall.
Okra did as instructed, albet grudgingly, and was surprised by how weak she actually started to feel.
"W-what kind of trick is this?" she asked, uncomfortable with the feeling. Her son wasn't surprised at how easily she was able to do it, but ignored her for the moment and once again attempted to reach out with this senses.
There, in the center of this contraption, Vegeta thought. It had been a while since he'd seen a ship this large, the last time he could remember something this big was perhaps the Big Geti Star. Vegeta smirked. This time, there wouldn't be anything left of him to survive off some machine.
A/N: The next chapter is a guaranteed fight. I couldn't really get my creativity flowing on this one without a set up, nor did I want the chapter dragging. I'll have the next chapter up soon. Also, Cooler is going to be fighting next chapter so there's that.
Also, Vegeta will have to get someone out of a pinch, and that might come back to bite him, lol... 'Till next chapter.
