It turned out that Celeste had dislocated her elbow. As a result she and Seth spent most of the next eight weeks recuperating together. He stayed at Pastor Mac's house when they were in Knoxville, and when they were in Davenport Celeste stayed with Frances.
Seth's friend Liam, who owned Seth's home gym had frequently invited him to church. Now he was finally accepting the invitation and taking Celeste with him. The church was more modern than Celeste's church in Knoxville, but she instantly loved it.
After church, Seth and Celeste go out to lunch with Liam and his wife Joanne.
"Celeste, did you think you'd be able to get through to this guy as quickly as you were?" asks Liam. "I kept praying for him, guess you're part of the answer."
Celeste blushes. "I definitely prayed for him." She takes a deep breath. "But this time last year, I only knew of Seth. Had no idea all of this would happen to us." She smiles at Seth. "I'd even forgotten about our first meeting until I was reminded of it."
Seth laughs. "Yeah, I'd forgotten too. I'm glad I didn't do something stupid that night."
"What are you talking about?" Celeste asks.
"I was gonna ask you out until Xavier and Corey told me you were John's fiancee." he confesses.
"Yikes." Joanne exclaims. "That could have been awkward."
"Definitely." Seth says. "Thankfully Celeste came to her senses about John before we got together, so there's no complications at work."
"How long were you and John together?" Joanne asks Celeste.
"Almost three years." Celeste says softly. "He's not a bad guy, just not the man for me. Fortunately I figured that out before the wedding."
"And I'm working on making sure I'm the man worthy of her." Seth says, hugging her.
Seth and Celeste snuggle on the couch in his apartment. "I should get back to your mom's." she says.
Seth pouts. "Do you have to?" He presses his lips to hers.
She begins returning the kiss, then suddenly pulls away. "Yes! Yes I really have to!"
"Are you okay?" Seth asks.
Celeste blushes. "Yeah. But I gotta go because I wanna stay." she says. Seth looks at her perplexed. She sighs and looks down at the floor. "Remember me telling you about that dream I had about us because I was hormonal?"
"Yeah." Seth answers, realization setting in. "Oh."
Celeste nods and bites her lip. "I love you." she says, finally facing him. "I love you too much to torture you..or myself. I made that mistake with John. Get all worked up, then put on the brakes."
Seth smiles. "I love you too. And I'm glad to wait until it's right for us to….get all worked up." He laughs softly.
Since Roman had not defended the tag titles at SummerSlam, the Authority had insisted he do so at Night of Champions, even if he had to do it alone. Dean's match against Dolph was right before the tag match. Dean laid in the floor exhausted after his win.
"He's not gonna have back to back matches is he?" King said.
"Either that or Roman has to go it alone." Cole says, as Roman makes his way to the ring.
Suddenly, "Honey" begins playing. "What?!" exclaims JBL, as Celeste makes her way down the ramp. The crowd cheers. "I'm not sure this is a good idea. Didn't she learn last time?" JBLsays, noting Celeste's injury.
"Well looks like she's all better and ready to go a…!" states King. He is cut off by the Shield's music blaring and Seth appearing in the crowd.
Seth makes his way to the ring. Dean greets him and Celeste with hugs before heading backstage. Seth and Roman retain the tag team championships against the Prime Time Players.
Seth and Roman finally dropped the tag titles to Cody Rhodes and Goldust in last October.
It's the Raw before Thanksgiving. Celeste looks up into Dean's eyes and says, "You are coming to Iowa with Seth and me for Thanksgiving."
Dean laughs. "No I'm not."
"Yeah you are." Roman says. "I've agreed to help them kidnap you before I head home to Florida if you don't cooperate."
Seth adds. "It'll just be us and my mom. Mom's cool with it."
"What makes you think I wanna be with you?" Dean asks.
"It's better than you being in Vegas alone." Celeste insists.
Dean smirks. "What makes you think I'll be alone?"
Celeste shudders. "Even more reason for you to come with Seth and me."
"Stop torturing your mother." Seth says. "You know you wanna say yes."
"Okay fine." Dean finally relents.
Celeste and Frances cooked while Seth and Dean watched football. Frances watched Celeste and Dean. It made her uncomfortable. She believed Celeste loved her son, but she couldn't get over Seth's ex cheating with someone she who was a close friend.
"This butterscotch pie is awesome, Mom." Dean says.
Frances raises an eyebrow. "Celeste made the pie." she says.
"Yeah I know." Dean replies. "I was talking to her."
Celeste laughs. "Maybe you'll get one for your birthday or Christmas."
Frances looks at Seth perplexed. He leans closes and whispers. "The more you're around them, the more sense it'll make."
