oI've got a lot more chapter's planned, and also some spinoff's planned, based off of this story, and my first story. They'll all be put out, on their own, in due time.
Assassination Attempt
Griffin made a promise to his wife that morning, and the Jedi would allow him to keep it. He spent the next eight months, enjoying the company of his family, and friends, learning how to be a father, and having all the time he needed, to come to terms with what Darth Terecept had done, and how to move on from it all. He very much so enjoyed the time off. He almost even came close to forgetting everything else about his life, and just thought he was a happily married husband, and father. That is, until he was unwantedly reminded fully, of who he was.
Two months before his second child's due-date...
Griffin was doing the laundry. His brother, Darius, took his wife for her check-up, so that he could finish cleaning the house. Little did he know, that the cleaning would very soon require much more work... and time. A sudden explosion toward the bottom of his complex, far enough not to damage his own apartment, but still enough to cause him distress, made Griffin ready for his survival instincts to kick in. It didn't take him long to find the one responsible for the explosion. That one, found his way into Griffin's apartment. It was one of Darth Baras's apprentice's, Lord Draahg. "Greetings, Terecept." The Sith started. "My master sends his regards. As does yours."
"Former Master." Griffin stated. "Unlike you Draahg, I am no longer someone else's slave."
"He clings to the lies of a Jedi, in so little time after re-joining them. You are a fool Terecept. You traded all the power in the galaxy, and for what? To become yet another of the Jedi's drones, again. Pathetic."
"I have my reasons, Draahg."
"Do tell. I'd love to hear them."
"You'd never understand. And you can't convince me otherwise, on that statement."
"Very well then. How would you like to go? Decapitation, stab through the heart, cut in half, Force Choke?"
"I'm not dying here, Draahg."
"I've cut you off from your lightsabers Terecept, you'll find that you have no chance, against me, in this situation."
"First of all, my name's not Terecept, It's Griffin Walker. Second off, you never heard about how much I love lightsabers? I love them so much," Griffin pulled a Lightsaber Pike, blue lightsaber off of a shelf, and switched it on. "I have one in every room of my apartment."
Draahg grabbed his own lightsaber, off of his belt, and switched the crimson blade on. "Let's see how good you really are 'Griffin Walker'." The apartment was not a very big place, for a duel, so the two warriors walked up to each other, and slammed their blades together, as they were inches from each other. Both men stood their ground, with Griffin on the defensive, blocking all of Draahg's strikes, but not letting him get an inch of ground. Bringing their blades together, again, Griffin pushed up on both of his blades, which surprised Draahg. With his strength allowing him to open up a strike point, Griffin brought his knee into Draahg's gut, sending him back. But Draahg's ability to endure pain, allowed him to bounce back, as he lifted an object, aiming to throw it at his adversary. Griffin sent a shock to Draahg's hand, and made him drop the object. In a single move, Griffin then opened up the sliding glass door, in the back of his apartment, and then threw Draahg out of it. He followed down, and resumed the fight in more open space.
"This fight will not mess up my home, any further than you already have, Sith." Griffin stated. Draahg then pulled out his second lightsaber and slammed both onto his blades, thinking that he now had the advantage, using two long bladed sabers, against the short blade, on Griffin's pike. However, he did not expect for Griffin to find a way, in it's construction, for the hilt to be made from Cortosis. He attempted to slash the hilt in half, only for his lightsaber to bounce off. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Griffin jumped up, and hit Draahg on the side of his head, with the back of his right foot, in a spinning motion. Draahg's movements became sluggish, as he now had a concussion, from the strike. A crowd gathered around, as to them, a Jedi vs. Sith fight, was more interesting than a burning apartment complex. Draahg's next strikes, were slow, sheepish, and laughably easy for Griffin to simply side step out of the way. Counter-striking, Griffin drug the top of the blade onto Draahg's left side, then kicked him in the cut, making him fall to the ground. With Draahg bent down, face toward the ground, Griffin pointed the tip of his pike, at his opponent's neck. "You move, you die." He told him.
"Why hesitate? I've nearly destroyed your home, killed innocents! I'm a monster, I deserve to die! Finish me off!"
"I do that, you're not a message. Go back to Dromund Kaas. Tell them that I'm not coming back. Tell them that now, any second assassination attempts will be prepared for. Tell them to stay away from Coruscant. Now go." He pulled Draahg up, to his feet, and sent him off.
Draahg turned, before leaving sight, and left a message. "Trust me 'Griffin'. Today was the first act of a new war. The next time you and I meet, I'll be ready for you, and I'll have your head." Griffin rolled his eyes. Draahg got out of there, before the authorities arrived. Griffin now had work to do, and an explanation to give, as soon as Revan heard about this incident.
