A/N let me start with stating that I know in chapter 6 I had a violence warning, but I honestly forgot what I was going to write. I think I was going to have it end bloody, and with murder, but ready all of your reviews and words of encouragement has given me new life for this story. I will make it last as long as I can, so thank you very much!
A small, rough texture lapping at her hand awoke Rin from her deep slumber. Bleary eyed, cotton mouthed, and head pounding, she turned to see her small, bright white cat licking her. "You hungry?" as she asked her own stomach grumbled loudly, followed by a soft "mew".
"Me too, I guess." chuckling lightly, she scooped the cat up as she sat up in her bed. Glancing at the alarm clock next to her bed, the bright red numbers "7:56" burned into her eyes. Shit, she thought to herself, I guess I'm starting my day off early.
...
Cat fed, and Rin showered and changed, she was ready to leave to get some food for herself. She looked herself over in the mirror, and was happy that nothing looked amiss. She wore a soft, light grey turtleneck, that was thin enough to wear in hotter weather, but covered enough to keep her warm. Her long hair was loose, fitted jeans clung to her voluptuous legs, and she wore a pair of grey running shoes. No makeup, no color, and no way to draw any unnecessary attention. Petting the soft kitty, and grabbing her keys and purse, she made her way to her car.
Rin lived in a quite, small apartment complex, whose tenant was a kind, old woman. Which she ran into as she turned the corner to the stairs. "Young Rin, how are you child?" The soft voice of Old Woman, Kaede rang out in the quieted halls. "I have not seen you for quite some time,"
Smiling gently at her elder, Rin muttered politely, and had a light conversation. Rin always enjoyed peering at the older woman's face. The long, grey hair always bounded at the nape, the soft, brown leather eye patch, embroidered with floral print, deep laugh lines around her mouth and eyes. She was kind, intelligent, and had helped Rin through the painful experience of recovery. She considered her a type of grandmother, and she was grateful for her to be around. And with a small wave goodbye, she entered the elevator to go to her car.
...
The sky was dark, and the clouds black and full of rain as Rin drove to her favorite coffee shop. She despised driving in the rain, so she prepared herself for the lengthy wait that she expected the storm to pass. Luckily, the rain only started to fall after she entered the shop, and with a hot cup of coffee, and a freshly baked cookie, she sat at a small table in the back of the shop. She wasn't sure how long she had been sitting there, but the blissful peace of rain falling on the roof, and the warmth of coffee in her belly was interrupted by the vibration of her cellphone. Casting an annoyed glance to the screen, she jumped when she saw "Sango" flash on the screen.
"Yes, Sango?" Rin sounded flustered, since she didn't remember putting the woman's number in her phone. Her heart dropped at her words.
"Rin! You need to get here now! Sesshomaru is throwing a fit, and has already injured three male employees, including my brother." Sango sounded angry, out of breath, and desperate. "We need you to calm him down, he's out of his restraints! But we have him locked in the room." Rin was already in the rain, running to her car, fear for her patients safety, and the safety of her coworkers overpowering the fear of driving in the rain.
"I'm on my way Sango! I'll talk to you when I get there!" And she rushed as fast as she could.
...
Soaked through, shivering, but also afraid, Rin ran through the empty halls of her workplace. As she approached Sesshomaru's holding room, and loud, angry roar rang to her eyes, causing her to jump into a sprint. Chaos was all she could think to describe the scene. Men unconscious on the ground, female nurses attending to them, blood splatters, and things strewn recklessly over the floor. Roars came from the closed, barricaded room, and Rin's eyes searched for Sango, finding her next to an injured Kohaku. "Sango!" Rin shouted, and the woman snapped her head up to look at her, worry in her eyes.
"Rin," her voice trembled, "You need to get him under control, or we will have no choice but to use deadly force." Rin nearly choked at the words, but nodded. "Everyone! Evacuate the halls," Falling back, the injured hobbled their way to the infirmary, and Sango standing with her brother looked at Rin seriously. "I have no doubt in my mind that that he will not hurt you, but take this if it gets out of control," She passed her a taser, and nodded before walking with the others. Rin gripped the hard plastic in her fist, and began to remove the chairs from the doors. Pealing back the paper taped to the observation window for a better view, Rin's heart stopped when she saw Sesshomaru sprawled on the ground.
Quickly opening the door, and closing it behind her, she whispered his name to see if he were still conscious. "I won't appreciate it if you're playing dead, and suddenly jump at me." She was glad that her voice sounded dry, and lighthearted, "I only have one pair of underwear on me, and pissing my pants in surprise is not how I want to spent my day off." But the only response she received was silence. Slowly approaching him, she still talked to make it known that she was getting closer. "You were just shouting and yelling not 5 minutes ago, you can't really expect me to believe that you've fallen asleep." She was at his side now, and nearly jumped out of her skin when she saw his bright, golden eyes peaking up at her through pale hair. "Fuck," she muttered, but he seemed unable to move for some reason. "Did they give you tranquilizers?" But his gaze was unwavering.
Kneeling next to him, she pushed the silky hair away from his damp face. She began to inspect him, starting on his arms, making her way to his face. Her breath caught when she placed her hand over her throat, and his eyes fluttered shut. "Sesshomaru, I'm going to place you on my lap so I can look at you closer. I need to see where they injected you." Placing a gentle hand behind his head, and reaching over him to grasp his shoulder, she lifted with all her strength. His body was heated, and she felt his damp scrubs, and hot flesh through the denim of her pants. He peered up at her, and she gave a weak smile as she began to look him over. Rolling up his scrubs, and leaning over his body. She could feel his erratic breath on her breasts and she was leaning, and unknowingly let out a mewl. She heard his intake of breath, and felt the familiar tingle between her thighs.
As she was about to release him when she couldn't find a needle wound, strong arms wrapped around her waist. "Ah! I thought you couldn't move!" but he didn't answer her, but brought his face to her belly as he inhaled. He was being surprisingly gentle, and without a thought, she began to pet his hair. She felt him relax in her embrace, and allowed herself to hold him closer. She's never felt such peace.
