Lesson one of redemption

A/N: I'm back. And I'm using an idea I got from a reviewer. So credit goes out to blue-hart. On with the story!

Fluttershy's POV

'He's not so big and scary; he just needs care.' I thought, grabbing his cape to wash it. I have no idea why I woke up so early, but it's hard to go back to sleep. Setting his cape in the washer, I hummed lightly to myself as it started and went to close the curtain so Sombra could sleep better. Deciding to visit Sweet Apple Acres, I left locking the door behind me. Catching Big Mac's attention, I smiled, greeting, "Morning, is Applejack here?"

"Nope." He replied, beginning to pull the cart in the barn.

I nodded, asking, "How are the apples this year?"

Big Mac smiled, exclaiming, "Great!"

"I'll take two; I'm planning on helping Pinkie make an apple pie tomorrow." I replied, opening my satchel and grabbing ten bits.

He shook his head, giving them to me. "You can have 'em for free, sweetheart." Granny Smith called, waving at me and rocking in her chair.

I reluctantly nodded and took them; turning to leave I then yelped and took to the sky. Watching the black blur crash into Big Mac, I settled on the ground, asking, "Are you two alright?"

"Yup." Mac responded helping Sombra up.

Turning towards me with the blanket I covered him with, he growled out, "Where is it?"

"Um…what?"

"My cape; what did you do with it?" He asked once more, inching towards me.

"I washed it for you. I hope you don't mind." I answered, meeting ruby orbs.

He grumbled and turned towards Big Mac, saying, "Sorry for running into you. If only I had known about my cape sooner."

He nodded in reply, holding out his hoof, asking, "Friends?"

Smiling to myself as Sombra returned the shake in acceptance; I started towards Sugar Cube Corner once Sombra caught up with me. Having the door burst open, I noticed Sombra flinch as the party cannon roared to life.

"Hi, guys!" Pinkie screamed, jumping in front of me. Confetti still rained down as a giant smile was plastered on her face.

"Morning, Pinkie." I replied, calming myself after her display. "Here are those apples you asked for." I stated, opening my satchel and handing them her.

Looking over them, she gave me a stern look, then smiled, screaming once more, "They're perfect, Fluttershy; this'll be the best apple pie ever!"

I nodded as I uttered, "I'll see you tomorrow so we can start baking."

She squealed, saying, "Okay, this'll be the best party in Equestrian history of parties ever."

Jumping back inside, she whooped and fired the cannon once more as Pony Ville returned to its normalcy.

Sombra nudged me, saying, "If we're done here, I'm heading back to the cottage."

Going ahead of me, I giggled watching the purple blanket flare out as he walked. Watching the sun begin to set, I followed after him before he disappeared from my view. Once we got inside, I asked, "Are you sure you wouldn't be more comfortable sleeping in my bed?"

"I'm fine just where I am; surprisingly enough I won't treat my host like a slave." He answered, curling into the vacant bed.

I nodded briefly then headed upstairs letting out a yawn. Why he won't accept my offer, I couldn't figure out. Slipping underneath the covers, I continued pondering this until my eyelids drooped.

A/N: I wish these were longer, but they aren't. Anyway, I've started a new story and you can just go to my profile to check it out. And the further we get into this, hopefully there will be more interaction with Sombra and the rest of the Mane six.
