Harry lay in his cupboard, staring blankly at the ceiling, wishing he was anywhere but here. He had long given up hope of some long lost relative coming to save him, had given up hope of escape. He wondered why his parents had left him. Did they get drunk because of something he did? Was they driving somewhere to get rid of him. He was obviously a burden. He was told often enough. All he wanted to do was sleep, but the nightmares were worse than tiredness. He couldn't win. He never could.
