Chapter 19- She's A...

Rebecca Stanley's Point Of View

(Jessica's Mother)

Where did I go wrong?

The cold cup of coffee sat before me, as I stared out of the window into the shadowed night sky.

I loved my daughter. Truly I did. But, I was extremely concerned about her reckless behavior lately.

The evidence of that behavior laid, scattered, across my kitchen counter.

How did life become so complicated. And why did it have to go by so...fast.

I remember the day that she was born. Seven pounds two ounces, nineteen inches long.

She had a full head of honey blonde hair and the prettiest blue eyes.

She met all of her milestones on time. When she started school, she was at the top of her class.

When middle school started, boys took notice of her. She was asked to all of the school functions, but she always politely declined. She always went alone.

I was proud of her. At that time, I thought that I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, the type of adult she would become.

If only back then, I'd known what I know now...

I was in the kitchen scrubbing the floor. I took pride in having clean floors. I always washed them on my hands as knees. They seemed cleaner that way.

A brisk, loud knock, rattle the walls of my tiny kitchen. Throwing the scrub brush into the bucket and climbing to my feet, I made my way to the door.

"Can I help you?" I asked, to the very large, handsome man standing there.

His blinding smile had me smiling in return.

"Yes ma'am. Is Jessica home?" He asked as he lifted an arm an leaned on the door frame.

"Oh I'm sorry, dear." I said as I watched him cross his ankles. "She went to Port Angeles with some friends."

"Do you know when she'll be back?" He asked, as he shoved his other hand in his pocket, and adjusted himself. "I needed to drop something off."

Oh my.

"You can leave a message for her." I said quickly, as I pulled at the collar of my shirt.

Hell, I wasn't blind.

"I guess I can do that." He said, smirking.

"Let me grab a pen and some paper." I said, as I walked back into the living room.

The notebook and pen were right where I left them, on top of the entertainment center.

Taking a second, I fanned myself with the notebook, and walked back towards the door.

Damn hot flashes.

"What's your name?" I asked, as I flipped open the cover and positioned the pen.

"Jake, ma'am, Jacob Black."

I wrote down his name, and then glanced back up to his deep brown eyes. "You said...You said you needed to give her something?"

He laughed and ran his hair through his short choppy hair. "It's kind of embarrassing."

"It's fine...really." I said as I closed the book and laid it on the small table next to the door.

He fumbled in his pocket for a few more minutes, before he pulled a small piece of material out, and quickly placed it in my hand.

"She left these in my car." He said, as he nodded towards my hand. "I'm sorry. Have a good evening."

He turned and walked away. Quickly.

I balled my hand into a fist and quickly pressed it against my chest, as I watched him disappear down the road.

I needed a drink.

Sighing, I opened my fist and and looked down. In my hand, rested a pair of crimson lace panties. Jessica's panties.

Hell.

Crisco. Bisquick. Ritz.

Oh there's one I could use, Little Debbie. I clipped the coupon from the corner of the flier that I got in the Sunday circular, and placed it into the small box that sat beside me.

Grabbing the next page I began flipping through the ad. I had just lifted the scissors to the page, to cut out the Pepsi coupon (three for five), when a constant banging caused me to snap the scissors closed. Right across the page.

"Son of a bitch." I growled as I threw the scissors and paper across my kitchen. "Who is it?" I yelled, as I stood from my chair and glared at the paper lying on the floor.

"It's me, Paul."

Paul?

Swiping my hair from my forehead and straightening my shirt, I opened the door.

"Paul, dear! It's been so long."

"Hi, Rebecca." He said, grinning from ear to ear.

"Jessie's not here." I said, as I glanced at his huge biceps.

Something's in the water, I tell you!

"Oh, I'm not here for her." He said, as he threw a medium sized box down beside me.

"What's all this?" I asked as I pointed down to the box.

"Look Beck, I'm not going to beat around the bush. Jess has been leaving shit in my locker," he pointed to the box, "my girl isn't too happy."

"You broke up?" I gasped.

"We were never together."

"Oh I thought... I thought..."

"It's okay," he said smiling. "Can you please just tell her that enough is enough?"

I shook my head yes, and then reached down to open the box. It was filled...with bra's and panties. The same undergarments that I've washed on numerous occasions.

"Wha...?"

"It's okay, Becca. Maybe now she'll get the hint," he said chuckling.

I glared at him as he licked his lips, and then turned and walked away.

That... that... bastard!

"That's okay, Paul! She found someone much better than you! Jake'll take care of her better than you ever could!" I yelled to his retreating form.

He threw his head back and laughed. Roared, really.

I kicked the box into the living room and slammed the door.

My daughter's too good for that rat bastard.

The garden had become overgrown the last few weeks, as I picked up more shifts at the small grocery store in Forks. I've asked Jessie, on multiple occasions, to lend a helping hand, but the poor dear was always so busy studying at the library after school.

I was afraid that one of these days, she was going to wear herself too thin.

Grabbing the pruning sheers from the closet next to the door, I went outside, to give some love to my forgotten roses.

I had just finished cleaning out the first bush, when two strapping young men walked up my sidewalk.

"Can I help you?" I asked, as I stood and wiped the dirt from my knees.

"Are you Mrs. Stanley?" The shorter one asked.

"Yes?"

They both glanced at each other for a second before turning back to me.

"I'm Quil." He said, and then he pointed to his friend, "this is Embry."

I pulled the gloves from my hands and dropped them next to the sheers that I had left in the grass.

"What can I do for you?" I asked.

"Um," the taller one, Embry, started. He shifted from foot to foot, and Quil slapped him on his back. "My mom found this in my room when she was cleaning," he said as he held out a very familiar Victoria's Secret teddy.

MY Victoria's Secret teddy.

My face became increasingly heated as I reached to snatch my intimate garment from his hand.

"Where in the hell did you get this?" I asked.

Quil smirked and nodded towards my hands. "Jessica was at a party that we were at a few days ago."

"What does that have to do with this?" I yelled, as I held it up, and shook it around.

"She brought the good shine," Embry said, as he rubbed his temple. "Thing's got a little heavy ma'am. I'm sorry."

"My daughter does't do those kinds of things" I yelled, as I continued to swing the teddy in front of me.

"Really?" Quil asked, as he nodded towards the fabric.

I gasped and threw my hand behind my back.

"Mom grounded me for two weeks." Embry said. He pointed a finger at Quil and said, "he was grounded too."

"What does Quil have to do with this?" I asked as I took a step back from the teenage men.

"Well, you see..."

"I was there too, Mrs. Stanley!" Quil said with a huge grin plastered on his face.

"Wait, wait, wait," I said as I reached my arms around and hugged myself tightly, " you mean... you... him...both of you?"

"Yes ma'am!" Quil said enthusiastically. "What a wild ride." He winked.

"My god!" I yelled, thoroughly disgusted. "Pig!"

Embry stepped forward with his hands out in front of him. "Just tell Jessica that we said we're sorry. She won't talk to us."

"Like hell I will!" I said. "I think you both need to leave!"

"At least I know where sweet cheeks gets her fire from." Quil said, as he raked his heated gaze down my body, and then licked his lips.

"Go!" I yelled, as I pointed to the street.

They both turned, high-fived, and headed back down the sidewalk.

I sighed as I walked past the Pepsi display for the third time in the last five minutes. Upset that I had accidentally cut the damn coupon in two. Glancing down at my nearly empty cart, I headed for the checkout.

The line was fairly long, as it was a Friday afternoon. Pay day. Thank god I had the evening off.

Toby the manager refused to add more people to shifts, causing irritatingly long lines.

"Mrs. Stanley?" .

Placing the newest tabloid on the shelf, I turned to greet the couple standing directly behind me.

"Sam, Emily. It's so nice to see you." I said, as I leaned over to place a kiss on Emily's cheek in greeting.

"You as well, Rebecca." She replied.

Both of their expressions dropped into frowns.

"What's wrong?" I asked. "Was it my cat again? I swear to god, that I didn't know he was using your lavender as a litter pan."

"No, no... nothing like that." Sam said, as he rubbed his temple.

"If you have a moment, I'd like to discuss the deplorable actions of your daughter." Emily said quietly, as not to raise an audience.

"Jessie?"

"Yes." Sam said, as he reached around Emily and pulled her closer. "Jessica was at our house last night. We had a small gathering of some of our closest friends. Paul, Jake, Embry, Quil... anyways, she seemed to be very upset."

"Upset?" I asked, taking a step closer, and bracing my hand on Emily's arm.

"Yes, upset."

"Oh dear. I hope she's okay."

"Mrs. Stanley, she propositioned me in the worst of ways."

"What!" I yelled and took a step back. "My god, I'm so sorry!"

"Mrs. Stanley, he wasn't finished." Emily said, as she gently pulled her arm away from my hand. "She propositioned the both of us."

"Wha...What?" I asked as I covered my mouth with my hand.

This can't be happening.

"Mrs. Stanley. Rebecca. When we made it clear that we were not interested in her advancements, she moved on to some of my other guests."

"I'm so sorry!" I cried.

What in the hell was up with my daughter?!

"We did tell her that it would be best if she didn't come around... at least for a little while." Emily said, as she signaled to the line that was slowly creeping forward.

"Yes... Yes of course!"

"Thank you for understanding." Sam finished, as he wrapped his arm around Emily's shoulder and pulled her into a hug.

Emily appeared to be so very upset by my daughters actions.

I turned around and began to put my items on the belt.

Thank god I'll be out of here soon!

Last Night -

I was sitting on the porch, drinking my coffee, and enjoying the calm and peaceful weather.

My thoughts constantly wandered to the events that have happened these last few weeks. My daughter... my pride and joy, appeared to be an entirely different person than I thought she was.

I didn't know how to confront her on the accusations that have been thrown my way.

I was torn.

"You." A loud female voice said from the opening of my gated yard.

"Me?" I asked, as I remained in my position on the porch.

"Yea, you. Tell your skank, bitch ass daughter to stay the hell away from my little brother."

No. Not again.

"Ex... excuse me?" I asked, as I lifted myself from the step and walked towards the very upset girl.

"She's been trying for weeks to seduce my little brother. She's relentless in her pursuit, and if she doesn't stop... I swear I'll report her to the police."

I gasped as she turned and walked away.

Reaching my hand up, I brushed the hair away from my eyes, and ran into the house.

What am I going to do?

What do I do?

My mental rant continued, until the phone rang.

Taking a few deep breaths, I lifted it from the receiver.

"Hello?"

"Hi! I'm looking for a Miss Jessica Stanley" The chipper voice on the other end said.

"She's not home right now, this is her mother, can I take a message?" I asked, as I grabbed the dry erase marker from the top of the fridge.

"My name is Lynn Roberts, from Planned Parenthood..."

My heart sank.

Paul's Point Of View

"Mom!" I yelled as I ran through the back door.

"In the kitchen!" She said, as she peeked her head around the frame.

"Are you almost ready?" I asked, as I walked into the room.

Bella was sitting at the table, eating a sandwich.

My mother and her had become close these last few weeks. It eased my mind significantly, to know that Bella was at my house a good amount of time. But, it scared the hell out of me as well.

"Of course, Sweetie." She replied, as she walked up to me and patted my cheek.

Bella snorted at her spot at the table. I small piece of lettuce, flew out of her mouth and onto the plate in front of her.

I mock glared at my mother. "You get away with it now, but please, don't call me sweetie when the guys are around." I ruffled the hair on the top of her head. "I'll never live it down."

"Okay, okay," she said as she pulled away from me. "We're doing it now?" She asked as she walked over to the phone.

"Yea." I said as I dropped into the seat across from Bella. Grabbing the other half of her sandwich, and lifting it to my lips, I took a massive bite. "Everything's a go."

"Okay, be quiet." She said as she pulled the phone off of the receiver. She dialed the required star sixty seven, before the phone number, to block the number, and then placed the phone to her ear.

Angela had proved to be a massive ally in gathering the required numbers from the guidance office.

"It's ringing!" My mother giggled, as she covered the mouth piece, just in case.

She was having entirely too much fun for a mother who was supposed to discourage this type of behavior.

Guess that it helped that she never really cared for Jessica, to begin with.

"Hello?" Mrs. Stanley asked, when she finally picked up after the fourth ring.

"Hi! I'm looking for a Miss Jessica Stanley." Mom said as she twirled the long phone line around her arm.

"She's not home right now, this is her mother, can I take a message?"

Wolf hearing was a blessing. Especially in situations such as these.

"My name is Lynn Roberts from Planned Parenthood. Can you please let her know that her test results came back, and the staff in our practice would like to wish her warm congratulations on her upcoming arrival." Mom said as she fist punched the air above her head, and did a weird butt shake dance.

"W…Wh…Wha…What?" Rebecca stuttered out.

"It must be very exciting to become a grandmother." Mom continued as she pretended to dust a bit of dirt off of her shoulder.

"Ugh…ye…yea."

Mom licked the tip of her finger and then placed the same finger on her ass.

I shook my head and sighed.

"Have a good day ma'am." Mom said, and she quickly hung the phone up.

She turned to us, with the biggest grin I'd seen in a long time.

"That was fun!"

Bella and I started laughing.

Hard.

My MOTHER, was an accomplice in one of Bella's masterful plans. And she pulled it off seamlessly.

"Mom that was fucking awesome." I said, as I stood up and wrapped my arms around her.

"Don't use that fucking language around me, Paul." She said, as she reached her hand up and mushed the side of my head.

Bella smirked and said, "yea, Paul."

Mom stepped away from me, and moved to give Bella a hug. She whispered softly into her ear."I hope that nasty, nasty girl, gets what she deserves."

They both pulled away from each other and then moved to sit in the chairs.

"And, Bella?" Mom said, as she tapped her fingertips against the top of the table.

"Yes?" Bella asked, glancing up at her.

"You are fucking awesome."

Jessica's Point Of View

I was home late. Again. Thank god my mom was, like, gullible enough to think that the library closed at eleven. Gosh, Mike and I would never have any alone time, if I wasn't able to convince her that I was studying.

When I got out of the car, I quickly pulled my skirt down to the appropriate length and threw my backpack over my shoulder.

"Same time tomorrow, Mike?" I asked as I leaned into the open door to see him.

"Sure babe." He said. He winked at me and I giggled as I closed the door.

The lights were still on in the house. I didn't know that mom would be home. She'd been picking up so many extra shifts lately. Thank god!

When I unlocked the front door, and pushed it opened, I almost tripped over a few bags that were sitting close by.

"Mom?" I yelled as I threw my bag onto the floor and made my way into the living room. "Mom, what's going on?"

"Can you come in here, Jessica?" Mom said from the kitchen.

Sighing dramatically, I turned and stomped into the room

What did she want now?!

"Aunt Janice!" I yelled, when I saw my favorite aunt sitting in a chair at the table. I hadn't seen her in months!

"How are you, sweetheart?" She said, as she rose from her chair and embraced me in her warm arms.

"Oh my god, I'm awesome! I met this knew guy..."

"Jessica stop!" Mom yelled as she threw her hand down onto the counter top.

I took a moment to study my mom and realized she was tense. Really tense.

"What's going on?" I asked, as I slid into an empty chair.

"Baby, I hate to do this, but I think its best for you to go stay at your aunt's in Seattle for a while." Mom said, as she took a sip from her wine glass that I hadn't noticed before.

"What? Why?" I asked, as I glanced back and forth between the two.

"I think that we have some issues that need to be taken care of, and if remove you from the situation it will be easier."

"What issues? Mom?" I asked as I began to panic at the thought of not seeing Mike anymore.

"I got a phone call today, from planned parenthood."

Fuck.

"Mom, it's okay. We can handle this," I tried to reason.

"No we cant baby. You're sleeping around! You're disrespecting yourself. Do you even know who the father is?" She glared at me.

Who was this woman?

"Mom. It's not as bad as you think."

She threw her glass into the sink, shattering the delicate crystal into millions of pieces.

"No. Grab your bags, Hon. I love you, but I can't do this anymore." She turned quickly, and walked out of the room.

My lip trembled as I stood from the table and walked quietly towards the front hall. My aunt followed closely behind me, her hand placed lightly on my back.

She grabbed two of the bags, as I grabbed one, and we headed out of the house.

I climbed into the passenger seat and put my seat belt on, as my aunt loaded the bags into the trunk. When she climbed in, started the engine, and backed down the driveway, I realized that this wasn't a joke.

She was really sending me away.

I watched as we passed houses, and reservation landmarks.

As we reached the 'Welcome To La Push' sign, a small reflecting light caught my attention.

My aunt slowed down to a crawl and asked, "are those friends of yours?"

Paul's car was parked beside the border sign. Bella Swan sat on the hood, her back against the glass, and her legs stretched out in front of her, crossed at the ankles. Paul was leaning causally against the door. A huge smirk plastered on his face

When I was close enough to see her clearly, she lifted her fingers to her lips, and then pulled them away. Dramatically blowing me a kiss. She threw her head back and laughed, and then waved with her fingertips.

Tears were welling in the corner of my eyes.

"No." I whispered.

She patted my leg, and then returned her hand to the steering wheel. "Let's go home, Jessie."

What the fuck am i going to do?

Bella's Point Of View

Operation take down trashy dumb bitch, successfully complete.
