Rynn erupted with a frustrated, angry and ear deafening scream that came from the top of her lungs as she watched Riddick walk away.
"RIDDIIICKKK!" Over and over she screamed his name so loudly and so angrily she was starting to go hoarse.
After wearing herself out she sat in her cell huddled up in a corner on the floor, rocking back and forth. She didn't even know Ben was there until he caught her off guard by taking her hand.
She jumped and yanked her hand out of his and went back to rocking herself and staring at the wall.
"Give him time, Rynn." Ben tried to give her the confort that Riddick wouldn't but she didn't want it.
"I've ran out of time." She merely said.
Ben tried to put his arm around her shoulders but Rynn wouldn't have any of it. She stood up, wiping away her tears. "I want to be alone."
"That's the last thing you need right now, Rynn-"
"Please, Ben. Go."
He did but not wanting to.
Rynn decided that if Riddick wasn't going to come to her she would go and find him.
Riddick's cell was on the other side of the slam. She had a lantern to guide her there in the darkness. She reached his cell, peering inside, seeing him laying on the bed, on his stomach. She did her best to try and creep in without him noticing but he had heard her coming long before she got there.
"Don't want company."
"It's me." Rynn whispered.
"I know. Don't want company."
Rynn stood there, being hurt yet again by his words starting to cry.
"Dry'em up, Rynn. You won't find comfort here. Go find Ben, he seems willing to comfort you." Riddick didn't move from his position. Didn't even turn his head to properly acknowledge she was there.
"I don't want to be comforted by him, Riddick. I want comfort from you." Her voice scratchy from all the crying and screaming she had done.
"Told you I don't want company."
"And I told you I don't want Ben's comfort."
"Than only other option for you is to go shoot up."
"RIDDICK!" With rage she threw her lantern at Riddick barely missing his head as it smashed against the wall.
Mistake.
He shot up from the bed only needing to take two big steps to close the distance between them. He abusively grabbed her arms throwing her on the bed. He was on top of her in a flash with a piece of the lantern in his hand that was pressed to her throat, ready to slice.
"Riddick." She pleaded. "Don't."
"Fuck, Rynn." Riddick had just arrived a few hours ago and he was already exhausted with her. Now she was thinking he was actually going to hurt or possibly kill her. He tossed the piece of lantern, that was at her throat aside, his full weight collpased onto her, his head burried in the crook of her neck. "Rynn. I don't know how much more of this I can take."
Those were the words she didn't want to hear but it seemed it was finally dawning on her what Riddick had said eariler. "I know."
He lifted his head to look her in the eyes. She looked back into his shined ones that were dancing in the darkness, the only thing she could see of him now. His hands went on either side of her face lightly giving her a kiss on the lips which made her start to cry from shame and the overpowering feeling of her man.
He whipped her tears away gently with his thumbs. "I love you, Rynn. We'll get through this." He felt and saw her nod. "But right now I need to be alone."
"I don't want to go." She started crying again, like a child that didn't want to leave it's mother. "I've been without you for so long and you know I don't sleep well when I'm not lying next to you."
"Rynn I just can't be around you now. Gotta try and get some sleep, start fresh tomorrow. Clear my head."
Rynn didn't like it but understood. He needed time to adjust. Needed to find more strength to fight the demon known as the morphine that Rynn was hooked on, for the both of them. This wasn't going to be easy. Hell dodgeing and fighting off mercs would be easier.
"Go back to your cell and Don't Shoot Up! I'll see you in the morning."
Rynn cried again. Riddick dipped his head down giving her another comforting kiss, which she started crying into. He broke the kiss when hers was getting too neady.
"Get going."
"I can't."
He sighed.
"Riddick it has been too long since we have been together."
"I know but never thought you'd still be shooting up."
Rynn was not going to get into another argument, plus Riddick was right. "I'll lay here and won't even touch you. You won't even know I'm here. Please. We have been distant for months. I don't want to be anymore."
Riddick sighed again, defeated. "You win."
It's not that he didn't want anything to do with her he was just hurting too see Rynn the way she was, but Riddick was no pansy. He was going to deal with this head on.
"Thank you." She gave him a peck on the cheek and turned over, her back facing him.
When she seemed content Riddick got up from the bed and went to sit down on the floor. He leaned against the wall, pulled out his shiv and sacrificed sleep to watch her all night.
Sorry this chapter was short, next one will be longer. Also in the next chapter I will be bringing in a character from Riddick's past, for a short time, that I haven't really read in other Riddick stories. The person fits in perfectly! I hope you will enjoy! :)
