Well Earnt

You think about being an Auror and it makes you shiver. Do you really want to fight some more, after all the fighting you've already done? You don't really think so.

You think about being a professional Quidditch player, but can you handle more press? Can you handle seeing your name in the papers even more? Can you handle being even more famous? You don't really think so.

Charlie Weasley suggests you train for Dragon Taming, but the job is in Romania, and do you really want to move to Romania? You might not miss England all that much, but you'll miss your friends. You really don't think so.

You could be a Lord of Leisure, you suppose. Between your inheritances, you don't really need to work. Can you imagine doing nothing all day? Can you see yourself living in a manor house with nothing more pressing than a Ministry event to look forward to? You really don't think so.

And then you call at the bank. It's only supposed to be a quick stop, but there are curse breakers working close to your vault, and you can practically feel the magic.

The Goblins smirk, triumphant, and you realise this has been done on purpose. They, like everyone else, want you. Yet you don't mind, because that looks interesting and you need something interesting to occupy your mind.

You think about it for a few days, but you know that your mind was made up the moment you felt the magic. You contact Bill, because he's the only curse breaker you know personally, and he's so passionate and you want that. You want to do something that you can be that passionate about.

Isn't that why you fought the war so hard in the first place?

It's hard work, and you almost give up a few times, but Bill is there to prop you up when you run headlong into a brick wall, and you think that maybe it's worth it.

And then, you aren't just Harry Potter, The Man Who Won. Then you're Harry Potter, Curse Breaker, and you think that it's a title you like.

It's one you worked for, because you wanted it. You're okay with that.
