*Author's Note*

Hey guys, an idea for this side story just hit me yesterday, and I could not resist the urge to write it. This will be a short side story but don't worry, I am actually working on the next side story now, but please do give me slightly more time cause I still need to figure some stuff out for the next side story story and furthermore, I have a paper due this Thursday and a group presentation this Friday.

Disney's Descendants: Good is the New Bad

Disclaimer: I own nothing at all, well, except my OC.

Spoilers: Well, the movie and a little of the prequel novel

Two weeks have passed since their wedding, Doug and Evie are on their honeymoon at Motunui Island now. Evie's surrogate family, Mal, Jay and Carlos, have booked a villa for the newly weds to stay while Ben has offered to pay for everything on their honeymoon.

Everything is perfect, but to Doug, there was an exception, and it's kind of a mood killer for honeymoons.

"Evie, love," Doug whined softly for the hundredth time before reaching out to cup his wife's hand which was on her ringing phone on the table.

"Can you please put away your phone? This is the last night of our honeymoon. I'm sure you want to remember at least one thing from our honeymoon on the Motunui Island. I'd really hope that you have something to say when the girls asked you what have you done on our honeymoon?" Doug said while trying to not sound too whiny.

They were having dinner together when Evie's cell starting ringing. It was not difficult to guess that the call was from Julie, Evie's assistant, as the only person who has been calling them on their honeymoon was Julie, even Mal, Evie's surrogate sister and the Queen of Auradon, had not called once for the past two weeks.

Evie bit her lower lip, feeling guilty for spending more time on the phone than with her husband. Not to mention, this is their honeymoon.

Julie was a great assistant, she's punctual, she's efficient, and she's smart. The only one thing that Doug was not happy with Julie was that she values work over everything else. Thus, Julie does not see a problem in calling Evie during her honeymoon because, to Julie, the things she called Evie for was important.

"You're right." She quickly lifted her phone to turn it off.

"Thank you." Doug signed, relieved that he finally managed to convince his workaholic wife to stop working, for the night at least. For the past two weeks, he felt like it was him having a honeymoon with himself and he was just sharing a room with a random person who happens to be a workaholic and that 'person' just happens to be his newly wedded wife.

"What do you want to do after dinner?" Evie asked, giving her husband her fullest attention.

"I was thinking after dinner, we could take a walk on the beach and…"

Before Doug could finish, his cell started ringing. He looked down at the screen and let out a heavy sign before passing his phone to his wife.

"It's for you." Doug announced, starting to regret not turning off his phone when he got the chance to do so.

Evie did not have to look down to know who the call was from. She gave him an apologetic smile before grabbing the phone.

"Julie?" She greeted. "Yes, got it but it would be better if you could rush him to…" Evie caught a glimpse of her husband as she answered Julie on what to do for the dresses she has designed for Mal and Belle for this year's Family Day. "Erm, Julie, can you get Dizzy on the phone for me, please?"

After a short pause, she continued, "Dizzy, can you help Julie with Mal's and Belle's dress for the next three days. I am going to extend my honeymoon with my husband. I'd hope that I will not be getting any calls from the office, even if it's for a matter of life and death. If you are not confident to make any decisions on my behalf, please put them aside, and I will attend to all of them first thing on Wednesday morning. Is that alright with you?" After another short pause, "lovely, see you on Wednesday, Dizzy. And, thank you."

With that, she passed the phone back to her dumbfounded husband.

"I'm all yours for the next three days. What should we do?" Evie asked with a big smile on her husband.

"Ahhh…" Doug uttered, still shocked to learn that, for the first time since graduation from Auradon Prep, his wife has put him before her work.

Evie giggled softly at her husband before leaning forward to give him a kiss on the lips.

"I love you, Doug. And thank you for being such an understanding husband a girl could ever ask for!" She said, from the deep down of her heart.

Doug has always been by her side for all these years, it did not take long for her to know that he loves her, a lot. No one in the world loved her as much as him, well except for her surrogate family of course but they are family, so it's different. Even after graduating from Auradon Prep, Doug chose a college near FIT so that he could be closer to her and during her time at FIT, Doug helped her with all the finance and other miscellaneous stuff so that she could concentrate on her school work and the designs for Four Hearts. Four Hearts may be created by her, but the success Four Hearts have was because of his hard work too.

Her words drew a smile on his face. "I love you too, forever."

I have always loved the chemistry between Doug and Evie. Seeing how sweet and loving Doug is to Evie, I know for sure that Doug will also be a loving husband in the future.

P.s., Motunui Island is from Disney's Moana Movie.

See you soon for the next side story :)

Please read and tell me what you think :)
