"Holy shit, Thom!" Gale was in the passenger seat as Thom was trying to speak very carefully to the woman over the system. "Listen to her voice!"

Thom groaned, "Gale, would you shut up?" He turned back to to the speaker. "Sorry about my friend," Thom said. "He's kind of drunk." They both listened to the girl on the other end laugh, saying she didn't mind. Gale sunk backwards into his seat with a happy smile. "So, fries…"

"Ask if she can be our deliverer," Gale said. "Please? Thom, please, please please ask if she can." Thom scrubbed at his face, sort of hating Sonic a lot at the moment. At least at McDonalds they could go right through a drive through and get it over with but Galeinsisted on Sonic where the workers had to walk the food out to whoever ordered it. "Please!"

"Ma'am, I'm sorry," Thom said as calmly as he can while shooting a nasty look in Gale's direction who was waiting hopefully by. "Um, I'm sorry. My friend wants to know if you would be our food deliverer?"

"That I will be," the girl responded. Gale grinned, throwing up his fist in victory. "Will that be all?"

Thom double checked the order and confirmed it before the speaker fizzled out. "I'm telling you, Thom," Gale said. "She's got a nice voice, and people who got nice voices are nice looking." Thom rolled his eyes but couldn't help but laugh.

The only reason Gale was so drunk was because they just got their final grades back, and Gale got plastered before checking. He was so sure he'd failed his statistics class that he wanted to be shitfaced before checking, and somehow he managed a B+. Celebration, of course, led them to Sonic.

"And what do you plan to do when she gets here?" Thom asked. "Propose?"

"Nah, that's way too fast."

Thom laughed again, shaking his head at his friend. Soon enough the girl skated out to Thom's old van and Thom rolled down the window. "Alright," she started. "I've got three burgers, four small fries, a chocolate shake–"

"Holy shit," Gale nearly gasped from shotgun. "I was right!" The girl looked over at him and smiled, waving a little. "What's your name?" Gale asked.

"Madge," she answered.

"Madge, wow," Gale elbowed Thom. "Didn't I tell you?"

"Tell him what?" Madge asked as she passed over the food.

"I said to him, people with nice voices are also nice looking, and holy fuck," Gale gestured to her and nodded vivaciously. "Good work."

"I'll be sure to tell my parents they handed on some good genes," she said with a laugh. Gale leaned over Thom's lap and Madge shrunk back a little. "Well I should be getting back," Madge said, still laughing a little. "Have a good night, you two. Nice to meet you," she said to Gale with a wave.

Once she was gone Thom passed over all of Gale's food. "You're embarrassing," Thom said with a laugh. "She's going to go back in there and tell all her friends what a fool you are."

"She's a fucking angel," Gale sighed before devouring his cheeseburger. "God, press the button again."

"I'm not pressing the button again Gale."

"Press it!"

"Gale, I'm–" Gale leaned over Thom's lap and reached out the window, somehow managing to get his finger on the big red call button. It rang for a second before the same lovely voice answered. "Sorry," Thom said. "Gale's, ah–"

"It's okay," Madge said.

"Wait!" Gale stopped his friend. "I want–uh, another shake." Thom narrowed his eyes in Gale's direction. "We're celebrating please buy me a shake."

Thom let out a deep breath. "Alright, Madge," Thom said. "We're going to need another shake."

That's how the next hour or so went on. Madge would disappear back into Sonic, Gale would get hungry for something else and plead with Thom to call, and Madge would come back out with whatever was ordered.

As the time passed Gale's mind became more clearer. "She's patient as fuck for putting up with me," he said, Thom having just ordered a container of chicken pieces for Gale who was currently scrubbing his face with his hands. "Do you think she hates me?"

"She's probably annoyed," Thom murmured, "but nah. I mean we're tipping her very well." Gale smirked as Madge arrived once more.

"I'm off for the night," Madge told them as she passed over the food. "So you'll have someone else from here on out if you're staying." Gale physically pouted. "But it was really fun meeting you two. Honest." She waved at Gale and smiled her brilliant smile. "Hope you're not too hungover tomorrow."

"Don't worry," Thom told her. "I've been live-tweeting this whole thing. He'll get to see it in the morning."

"Perfect," Madge grinned. "Have a good night!"

Two days later Gale had more or less completely forgotten about the Sonic incident, as deemed the night by Thom and the rest of their friends. So one night after work he stopped to get a shake really quick and was greeted by a very familiar voice.

It wasn't until the blonde emerged from the building did he remember what had happened. "Oh," she greeted him in surprise. "I remember you."

"Oh shit," Gale muttered. "I'm–you're Madge."

"You're Gale," she responded. "You're like a Sonic legend now," she told him as she handed over his shake. "Everyone's been talking about you."

Gale let out a short laugh. "Great. Listen, I'm sorry about all that," he started to say, but she shook her head.

"It was fun," Madge said. "I mean, usually when guys hit on me at work they're… vulgar, and annoying, but you were sweet." She accepted the cash that he passed over to her and both of them were silent for a moment. "And cute," she added, leaning backwards from his truck. Gale licked his lips and looked down at his milkshake. "I'll see you around," she said.

"Wait," Gale stopped her before she skated away. Madge returned to his truck with a hesitant smile. "I'm going to give you my number," Gale said, scrambling around for a napkin and a pen. "If you're ever not working, and I'm not… obnoxious and drunk… maybe we could–"

"Sure," she cut him off. Madge smiled. "You seem fun."

Gale chuckled a little before scrawling out his phone number and passing it through the window. "Ah, you have a nice night," he told her.

"I already have," she responded, waving his napkin in victory before carefully placing it in her pocket. Gale grinned, sinking backwards in his seat and slurping on his straw.

Thom was not going to believe him.
