Stay
She waited in the room, her eyes on the street below, her wand twirling in her fingers. She looked good, she knew, her black dress contrasting her white gloves, shimmering in the light filtering into the room.
Not that it would matter. He wasn't here for her looks after all.
He was here for her passion, her fire, her magic. He was addicted to her as she was him, and he wanted her.
He wanted her so much, it made her practically dizzy with the power of it.
It had started as an experiment. For so long, Narcissa had been the perfect little princess of the family, and she'd wanted to know if she could steal away part of Narcissa's happy ever after.
It was risky, renting a room in the Leaky Cauldron. A little close to home, a little dangerous. In her opinion, it only made it better.
What was life without a little risk?
The door opened with a creak, closing a few seconds later with a quiet snick. She didn't turn to him, and after a long moment, he came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist.
"You're late," she reprimanded, pulling at the fingers of her gloves. She took her time taking them off, made a show of it. Despite her eagerness to have her hands on his body, she knew he enjoyed these moments almost as much as the main event.
"Narcissa has been… rather dogged about my movements lately. She held my attention longer than I thought she would."
"She did that on purpose."
"Obviously. I… Narcissa is to have a baby."
The breath caught in her throat for a moment. Narcissa was to bear his baby, an even more solid hold on the man that the rings on their fingers.
"I see."
"This… she has made it clear that any affairs must be ended. She will cause a scandal if I continue being unfaithful to her. This… this is the last time."
"Then you should leave."
"Bellatrix," he murmured against her neck. "We are here now. Let's… one last time."
Her weakness for him won out on her bitterness, and she turned to him, kissing him firmly, her hands pulling at the light grey robes he wore.
"Off," she demanded, making him chuckle.
"Bossy," he replied, but did as he was bid, letting the robe fall to the floor as she unbuttoned his shirt.
"As if you didn't know that."
They tumbled into bed, hands and skin and panting breaths meeting one another as they sunk into the passion that she'd never before experienced with another. Passion that he'd never experience again.
…
"If you let people see you the way I see you, you would be snapped up for marriage in an instant," Lucius murmured against her skin, his hand trailing softly up her back.
"I'm not looking for anyone's approval," Bellatrix replied. "I know who I am. If men cannot see me for that, then they are not worthy of my time."
"You are… the most beguiling witch I've ever met."
"Looks like you married the wrong sister."
He chuckled softly. "Perhaps." he allowed. "I… I should go."
She clutched at his hand. "Stay," she said, curling into him. "Just… for a while. Stay."
She felt his hesitation before his arms wrapped around her. "Okay. Okay, I'll stay."
…
When Bellatrix woke, it was to darkness and a cold bed. She took a moment to remember the feel of Lucius against her, before she locked it away.
She was Bellatrix Black. She didn't need a man, and she certainly didn't need Lucius.
She didn't need anyone.
