Lucy POV

Although I was saddened by thoughts of my father and all of our missed opportunities I was overcome with excitement at how close I was to returning to Fairy Tail. With an extra pep in my step I led the way to the train station. Ignoring the moaning and groaning of the Dragon Slayers behind me I bought everyone's train ticket and sat down at one of the benches near our platform. "Really you guys? We haven't even gotten on the train yet." I said watching as Sting and Rogue pathetically slouched down onto the bench besides me.

Receiving nothing but disgruntled looks from them I shrugged and decided to catch up on some of my reading. Opening the Jeweled Spirits books to Draco's chapter I began reading.

Draco

Previous Owner: Ashley Greenway; Deceased– contract void

Current Owner: Lucy Heartfilia; On-going contract

Bio: As legends go dragons are enormous creatures that are feared by everyone who encounters them; Draco is no exception to that. He is easily the size of most dragons and is just as strong, if not stronger. He has exceptional speed and agility that comes from his ability to rapidly change sizes whenever he chooses. Although most dragons have an affinity to a single element Draco does not.

Draco has had the least amount of owners out of all six of the jeweled spirits. The first person he was contracted out to was a little girl named Lara Draconia. Draco raised her from the time she was three until her unfortunate death ten years later. Shortly after her death his key was found by Ashley. Because of his anger and grief over his loss Draco easily fell under the evil influence of Polaris and made it his mission to avenge his daughter. To this day Draco has not found his daughter's killer and still aims to enact his revenge.

Powers: Unlike most of the other spirits he does not have a humanoid form and remains in his dragon form at all times. Although he is restricted to his dragon form he is able to adjust his size on a whim. The difference between his smaller form and his giant form is his strength and ability to carry objects and people.

Rather than controlling one element, like normal dragons Draco has control over the four basic ones; fire, wind, water and air.

Temporary Powers: The contracted mage is able to borrow Draco's power over one of the four elements. Depending on the strength of the mage he or she can borrow between one and four of the elements at a time. (Those who can summon one of the Zodiac will only be able to borrow one of the elements, while those who can summon two Zodiacs at a time can borrow two. The rare mages that can summon three of the Zodiacs at one time can borrow three elements. To temporarily have control over all four of them the mage must be able to summon at least two Zodiac and one Jeweled spirit at the same time.)

Although the mage cannot fly him or herself, Draco can be used as a mode of transportation in either form.

"Find anything of interest master?" Draco said from over my shoulder. Startled that I hadn't noticed him earlier I closed the book at looked at him with sad eyes. "I don't need or want your sympathy, so do stop looking at me like that."

"Even though you say you don't want it I'm still going to give it; I'm sorry for your loss." I said dragging him into my lap, ignoring his scowl and look of displeasure. Giving him a quick hug I released him expecting him to fly away from me but he stood there looking at me as if trying to decipher a puzzle. I was about to ask him what was wrong when the intercom blared overhead.

"NOW BOARDING THE TRAIN TO MAGNOLIA"

Breaking us out of our staring contest we watched as the train doors slid open and people trickled in. Nudging both of the slayers, with the help of Frosch and Lector, we boarded the train and found an empty compartment in the middle of the car. The instant Sting entered the private room he flipped down and took up an entire bench; he was precariously hanging off of it with lector on his back trying to comfort him.

Looking to Rogue I saw the longing in his eyes to do the same thing but he restrained himself and sat down instead, leaving me plenty of room for me and Draco. Since he looked almost as bad as Natsu when he traveled I patted my lap and told him to lay down, shaking his head he turned a sickly shade of green and leaned his head forward onto his knees.

Men, I thought with a disgusted shake of my head as I grabbed his shoulders and slowly guided his head to my lap. "Shhh, stop struggling. This always helps Natsu when we travel. Just relax and I'll take care of Lector and Frosch. I promise to wake you up when we get there so you're not forced to stay on the train any longer than you have to, okay?" I said as I began running on hand through his hair.

Even though Rogue was now laying down there was still enough room besides me for Draco to lay down on, and he did so. "I haven't been out of that cave in so long, if its alright with you mas… Lucy-sama, then I'd like to stay out a little bit longer."

"As long as you're not terrorizing anyone then you can stay out as long as you want Draco, if you wanted you could go outside and fly around if that would be better than just sitting there." I offered but he shook his head and mumbled something about this being enough for right now, before closing his eyes.

After a couple of minutes he unexpectedly gained some company. Frosch, seeing that Rogue was in good hands and that Lector was trying to sooth his own slayer, cautiously peeked over at Draco's resting form before bravely sitting down beside him. She sat there stiff before Draco's tail swished at her and playfully poked her, making her laugh and then relax. I watched this with a smile, glad that Draco was making an effort to get along with someone.

Seeing that my companions were still settled in and resting I pulled out my father's files with my free hand, sticking them loosely behind my back so I could reach them without bothering anyone. Skimming through the stuff I already knew from Pegasus and the Spirit King I stopped on my father's guesses to the location of the remaining four keys. Looking at all of dad's scribbles and question marks I could tell that he had just as much trouble trying to find the keys as he had Polaris. Pegasus did say that it wouldn't be easy. I thought growing discouraged as I continued to flip through the files. His 'leads', if you could even call them that, were extremely vague. 'Look for increased claims of attack by large animals', 'check the forested areas.' Geez it would take forever for me to travel to each and every one of his guesses in hopes that I would find at least one of the remaining four spirits. Normally I wouldn't be bothered by the thought of that much travel but I was on a major time restraint and only had a little less than five months to find the Phoenix, Chameleon, Ursa Major and Lupus. If I had more time to look for them that would make my life a whole lot easier. But then if it were that easy then the King could have had this done earlier, and my mom wouldn't have had to die. Further discouraged by my thoughts I banged my head backwards against the wall. The more I thought of my task the more impossible it seemed. There has to be a better way to look for them, I just needed to think of it.

Feeling movement in my lap I stopped hitting my head on the wall and looked down into Rogue's tortured face. "urgg… are you okay Lucy?" He said as he gagged.

"If you're going to throw up turn your head away from me and do it on the floor." I exclaimed as he gagged again. When he stopped gagging I relaxed, "yeah I'm fine; I just need to come up with a better way to find the other spirits. The first two seemed to just fall into my lap, and the rest of them aren't going to be as easy."

"…I'm sure you'll figure something out…I'll…ugg, help as best as I can."

"Thanks Rogue, it just seems daunting at times when I really think about it. These keys have been hidden for centuries; they've adapted, found ways of avoiding contact with humans. Even if I found their general location if they don't want to be found, then they won't be. I'm just hoping that once I get home Levy and Freed will be willing to put their heads together and get some information out of Rufus' book for me."

"If they care anything… for you then they'll do everything they can to help you."

"You're right; I know they'll be happy to help me. I should just enjoy the rest of the train ride and worry about the next fiveish months when I get home, well, more like a week after I get home. Haha." Seeing his confused look I clarified. "I hope you guys like to party because Fairy Tail uses any excuse to throw one and my return home will probably result in a huge one." I said with a laugh.

With thoughts of home taking over my mind I closed the files and put them behind me. Home. Fairy Tail. I can't believe I was gone for so long. I wonder who Mira was talking about when she said 'so many new couples'. Thinking about new couples I looked down at Rogue and watched as my fingers ran through his hair. Is it possible...? Do I want it? …Yes I do, since day one I've felt something for him and it's just grown since then. When I'm not with him I'm thinking about him and I know that when I'm with him I feel... I don't know, whole. It's strange. It's similar to how I felt when I first met Natsu, except not in a brotherly fashion, I feel like I belong by his side and that if I were to settle for anything less then I'd regret it for the rest of my life. My hands froze when another thought hit me. …but what if he doesn't feel the same? Would I be able to remain as his friend, would I want to? What am I thinking, of course I would! …I'll make it work, no matter what his feelings are. If he doesn't feel the same way then I just want him to be happy, even if it's not with me. Coming to that conclusion I continued stroking his hair. I have time to decide how to go about telling him. I thought right before I cringed when I realized I'd have to deal with Mira's match making schemes when I got home.

The rest of the train ride, which wasn't that long, was spent with my hand in Rogue's hair and thinking of how best to avoid Mira's 'hobby'. It didn't look promising and I resigned myself to telling her about my feelings for Rogue so she wouldn't mistakenly think it was Sting that I liked, or that the fact that I denied having any feeling for one of them meant she could put me together with someone else entirely.

"NOW ARRIVING AT MAGNOLIA STATION. PLEASE COLLECT YOUR BELONGINGS AND WAIT UNTIL THE TRAIN HAS COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE EXITING. THANK YOU."

Gently prodding Rogue I lifted his head up enough so I could slide out from under him. "Come on, we have a couple of minutes before we get off of the train." When both slayers refused to move from their spots I proceeded to pack up my stuff when I was done I looked at the four bags that littered the floor and knew I wouldn't be able to carry all of them so I gave them to Virgo to put them in the Spirit World for me. "Thanks Virgo! Do you think you could get Capricorn to return my other clothes?"

"I'll try my best Princess." She said before she disappeared.

Now that, that was taken care of I turned towards Draco who was watching me get things ready. Crouching down to him I slowly stuck my hand out to pet him, giving him plenty of time to avoid it, when he didn't I continued my path and petted him. "I know you want to stay out as much as you can, and that's fine by me, but do you think you'll be able to transform into your larger form once we get to the guild? I want to surprise my friends. I know it's hard for you do to it, so you can use as much as my magic as you need. After my friends meet you, you can fly around for a while." When I started talking he looked resigned to being stuck in his key, but when I said he could stay out as long as he wanted he looked suspicious, prepared for me to ask for something outrageous in return. But when I asked him to transform using my magic he looked down right shocked, as if he weren't used to doing as he please, especially being free to wander the area unsupervised. So when all he did was nod his head in agreement I picked him up and gave him a hug and a peck on the top of his head.

I'll get you to like and trust me in no time. I thought with a smile.

Feeling the train come to a complete stop I opened the door to our compartment and walked out, turning back around when I didn't hear the footsteps of my companions. "You two are literally twenty steps from getting off of the train onto solid, unmoving ground. Or do you want to go for another ride?"

With that they rushed, well for their sickened state it was rushing, off of the benches, past me and through the doors. I was a second behind them, watching as Sting fell to the ground, kissing it and trying to hug it.

"Land! Muah, sweet solid land!"

While Sting made a scene with people snapping pictures of one of the Twin Dragon Slayers kissing the dirty ground, Rogue was leaning his head on his hands as he sat on a nearby bench. Sitting next to him I rubbed his back, trying to speed up his recovery.

"Thanks Lucy, I think I'm good now." He said as he put a hand on my knee and looked at me.

Smiling back at him I opened my mouth to blurt out how I felt about him but one of the camera crazy passengers ruined the moment with a flash in our eyes. When Rogues face went from open to shut off in an instant I sighed and stood up. Stupid people with cameras.

Walking away from the girls who were fawning over them and the rest of their crazy fans I began walking to the guild, knowing that they would follow when they got away.

On reflex I headed to our old guild building but was reminded that we no longer had possession of that building when I saw boards covering the windows from a distance. Making my way to our new guild building I picked up my pace and paused at the doors. Taking a deep breath I was about to open the doors when they opened before I could touch them.

"Lucy!" Natsu said as he collided with me, giving me a bear hug in the doorway, I would have fallen if it weren't for the rest of my team who had crowded in behind me giving me a hug just at big. Being herded into the middle of the room I basked in the presence of my family and hugged them back as hard as I could, laughing at how happy I was to be back with my family. Looking around for my blue tormentor I was sad to see that he was nowhere in sight.

Natsu must have sensed my momentary sadness because he brought his mouth to my ear and whispered to me. "Happy will be back soon, he went to get you the present I left at home."

Nodding my head I returned his bear hug once again and rested my head on his shoulder. "It's good to be home." I whispered, knowing he would hear me.

After a couple more of minutes of our group hug we reluctantly detached from each other so I could be greeted by the next wave of people. Levy, Mira, Lisanna and Elfman were next in line, as the three girls and I hugged Elfman stood over us and said "tearful reunions are MAN!" making us all laugh and cry at the same time.

The greetings after that weren't as dramatic, most of the remaining members toasted me with their glasses or yelled over everyone, saying 'welcome home'. I understood why they remained in their spots; I wouldn't have wanted to fight through the crowd that surrounded me either. Looking up at the second floor I waved at Master, Laxus and the Thunder Legion, getting a nod in return from each of them.

As I listened to the group ask question after question about my where abouts I felt a tug on my pants and looked down. Seeing Frosch lifting up her arms, in the universal sign indicating she wanted to be picked up, I did so. Everyone was shocked into silence when they saw the Exceed in my arms, everyone except Natsu.

"Cool! Lucy when did you get an Exceed?" He asked bringing his face closer to Frosch's shaking one. Looking up at me from his crouched position he asked a question that had everyone sweat dropping. "Does this mean you're a dragon slayer now? OW! Hey Ice Prick what was that for?" Natsu growled rubbing the back of his head where Gray had hit him.

"Geez Flame Tard your stupid-ness astounds me sometimes; she couldn't have become one because there are no dragons left."

"Well actually –." I started but was interrupted when Erza crept up next to the two 'best friends' with her annoyed aura surrounding her. The instant they sensed her presence they through an arm around the other's shoulders and patted each other on the back and started claiming they were the best of friends until Erza looked appeased.

"As I was saying, Frosch here isn't my Exceed, she is Rogue's." I said pointing to the man in question who was standing in the door way with a blank expression. "And the red one standing next to him is Lector, and he's Sting's Exceed. They are the Twin Dragon Slayer's of Sabertooth and my new friends. Rogu-."

"Fight me!" Natsu yelled as he jumped over the group of people surrounding me and headed straight for the two stunned slayers. Sting was the first to snap out of it and met Natsu head on with a matching grin on his face. Not wanting to cause any damage to the interior of our already run-down guild, Master's giant hand swatted them outside and slammed the door to prevent them from reentering accidentally during their fight. "Continue my child." Master said looking back at me as if nothing had happened.

Still stunned at Master's quick reaction it took me awhile to regain my train of thought. "…oh yeah… Rogue, the one not fighting, found me after the Clock imploded and took me back to his guild to care for me. He is a Shadow Dragon Slayer and Sting, the one fighting Natsu outside, is the Light Dragon Slayer.

"That doesn't explain why it took you so long to come back to us Lucy. Were they holding you against your will and doing devious things to you?" Erza said, moving between me and Rogue, all the while glaring daggers at him.

Shaking my head and trying to pull her away from her defensive position I denied her accusations. "No! Nothing like that happened, Erza! I stayed with them so I could train, and wait to meet their Celestial Mage to return. It turns out that she is Angel's long lost sister, and she wound up giving up Celestial magic and giving me her keys." Hearing my explanation she loosened her rigid stance but still glared at him. Relieved that he was no longer in danger from her I released her arm.

Looking around at everyone as they took in Rogue and greeted him I was glad to see that besides my team members no one else seemed to have murderous thoughts surrounding him or his guild. If anything the members who had kept the guild running over the years we were gone, were in awe of Rogue. They were the first ones to approach him, wanting to shake his hand and talking about the Grand Magic Games last year.

Grand Magic Games? I thought confused, as I continued looking my family.

Glancing at Mira I could see the gleam in her eye as she looked from me to Rogue several times before hearts appeared in her eyes and she fainted, worrying both of her siblings. Shaking my head at her behavior, I was about to walk up to talk to Master when I heard Natsu yell something outside, followed by a loud roar and a huge drain on my magic. Sagging a bit against the stunned Erza I regained my senses and rushed outside a second before everyone else did.

Those who had been on Tenrou froze in fear for a second at how familiar that roar was, but a second later they all rushed outside ready to defend our home and the lives of everyone else. Seeing their nakama prepare for battle everyone else followed suit and ran after them leaving the stunned Rogue behind.

Crap why did Draco engage Natsu? He was supposed to wait until I introduced them. I thought as I stood in front of everyone trying to hold them back from attacking my spirit.

"Wait! Please stop! It's not Acnologia!" I shouted as they pushed past me, not hearing me.

Looking to the sky I saw Draco flying around playfully chasing Natsu and Happy, but where I saw playful everyone else saw something else. Turning to see Erza had changed into her Heaven's Wheel armor and Mira was in her Satan Soul I quickly thought of a way to get to Draco before the others did. Pushing out in front of everyone I took off running to an open space, mentally calling Draco down, I wasn't surprised when I felt him hover above me for a second before he dropped into my arms.

Feeling a presence at my back I turned around to see the stunned faces of my guild. Sheepishly smiling at them I lifted Draco up a bit. "Uh… as I was saying this is not Acnologia, this is one of my new spirits Draco. I'm sorry for all of the confusion, this introduction was supposed to go very differently." I said giving Draco a look.

"Hey Lucy! Why did you call back your dragon we were playing!" Natsu said as he landed besides me.

"Sorry Natsu, you can continue playing now if you'd both like." Seeing him nod and Draco hop out of my arms, I watched as they flew up into the air and began their game of tag. "As you can see he is nothing like Acnologia, so please don't attack him." I said to the others.

Wendy stepped forward looking from Draco to me, "Lucy-nee do you think I could play with them too?"

Ruffling her hair I nodded and laughed with everyone else as she began begging Carla to let her play.

An: Sorry to those who didn't like my last chapter, but it was necessary to move the story along. Hopefully you like the chapters to come.

Let me know what you think. Please and thank you!

GemNika: Haha 33 babies? don't you think that's too many? They would never have time to themselves if there were 33 mini thems running around. Lol. They are closer to kissing though. ;) And yeah I see your point now, it is a transitional one instead of filler.

Lucy-Chan17: Their babies would be adorable! *Squeels* =]

XBakaNinGyoX: Yay! Thanks, I'm glad you like it! =]

BronzeDove: Haha I don't know! They just pop into my head at random times and I go with the flow. Lol. I hope the meeting with Fairy Tail didn't disappoint you!

GoldenPiggy: That was Lucy's version of Polaris, but since she hasn't actually encountered her or any pictures of her she doesn't know for sure. I'm sorry you didn't get much out of the last chapter it was meant to move the story along.

Eclipse1: It's just going to be Lucy x Rogue. =]

Guest: Fairy Tail will be featured more now that she has returned to the guild. =]

Leathion: Thanks! =]

Myth Magyk Fae: Haha, well I'm sorry that it kept you up! =] But I'm glad someone likes it enough to stay up til the wee hours and read all that I have so far!
