Anubis, newly named Fallen, wandered aimlessly through the dense jungle. His eyes stared off into the distance, not truly seeing anything. He stumbled over fallen branches, and at one point, fell. He didn't get up. He lay there, just trying to steady his breathing. He was in shock.

For a mere kit, being chased away from his home by his own father was a lot, but being betrayed by his twin, and seeing a dead tom, was overwhelming. Branches crackled, and leaves rustled around him. He didn't hear it. He was in pain, and his mind was elsewhere.

A long snout was sniffing at the ground, not far away. The snout belonged to a wild dog. The dog's fur was mangy and covered in burrs, and one of its eyes was useless, having dulled with age. It had followed Fallen's blood scent, smelling easy prey, and was stalking towards him.

Fallen was oblivious, and seemed dead. You could only tell he was alive by the rise and fall of his sides. Otherwise, he was completely still. The dog had reached where Fallen was laying, and was cautiously padding towards him.

However, a sudden rustling in the bushes caught the dog's attention. Feeling defensive, and not wanting to give up his meal, the dog quickly leaned forward to finish off the kit to take it with him.

A white blur jumped out of the bushes, landing on the dog's back, and he let out a cry of pain. After a few seconds, the dog shook the blur off of his back and ran off, whimpering, deciding to try and find an easier, less guarded meal.

Fallen, the high pitched noise having shaken him out of his stupor, looked around. Sunlight streamed down through the leaves, illuminating something. The white became intense, and it was the last thing Fallen saw before passing out from blood loss.

Fallen woke up to the sound of voices. He breathed steadily, but that faltered after he tried shifting his position. Intense pain laced through his limbs, and he hissed quietly in pain. Something moved towards him, and he growled low in his throat, though the sound was less than threatening, sounding more like a squeak.

He heard a chuckle and opened his eyes. Everything was blurry. He squinted, trying to clear his vision. He saw something blue. Slowly, his vision cleared and he blinked. An upside down head was right by his, and he shrank away. He noticed that it was a female cat; She had pure white fur, one blue eye, and one green eye. He jumped as he realized how close she was. Their noses were almost touching.

Jerking away into a standing position, he hissed again as pain lacerated his body. The she-cat's look turned from playful to concerned in an instant as the black kit sank back onto the ground.

"Are you alright?" She asked, worry evident in her voice.

Thank you guys for encouraging me!~

Chapters will be updated pretty randomly, because, to be honest, I'm extremely lazy. XD

Tell me what you guys think! Is this a good chapter?

I'll make it longer next time around. :)

Until next time!~
