Chapter 13: The Adventure Begins

Frieza let out a sigh of relief, yes he didn't get his wish for immortality, yet, but on the plus side, neither had Vegeta. "Zarbon!" Frieza shouted to his right hand man and top general...

"Yes Lord Frieza." he responded nearly instantly.

"Take the monkeys to the healing tanks; I want them in suitable shape to be the first two beings I kill as the immortal ruler of the universe." Frieza responded, a sadistic tone breaking through into his voice. "Oh and don't let them heal all the way yet, we wouldn't want them killing you like they did Dodoria." Frieza's voice was almost at a sing-song level as he imagined his immortality.

"As you wish sire." Zarbon responded with a bow.

"Qui, gather the troops, we depart immediately!" he ordered as he climbed back into his floating travel throne.

"Right away lord Frieza!" Qui shouted eager to fill Dodoria's now vacant position.

'Yes today will be the day, the universe shall bow before me for all of eternity.' he thought to himself before breaking into a mad cackle as his throne lifted off of the ground and into the air, his company of troops quickly forming up around him.

After Frieza had disappeared from view, Zarbon turned to Vegeta and Nappa's limp forms in each of his hands, "We're going to have some fun, just the three of us, until Lord Frieza gets back." before chuckling quietly to himself as he carried the two into the ship, "Yes I think today will be very enjoyable."

(1 hour later)

"That should be good enough I think." Zarbon said to Vegeta's still injured form as he pulled him prematurely from the pod.

The Saiyan Prince's eyes were just beginning to crack open when an immense bolt of pain shot through him. Zarbon blasted blasted a hole in his left leg before he was even fully out of the pod. The pain was sudden enough that the Saiyan Prince actually yelled in pain, providing music to the effeminate alien's ears.

"Good morning, Monkey Prince." Zarbon taunted as he fired another blast a few inches away from the first hole.

This time Vegeta was prepared, and managed to keep himself to only vocalizing his pain with a groan.

"Come on; stop the tough guy act Vegeta, we both know how weak you actually are. I want to hear you beg!" Zarbon continued, firing another blast searing through Vegeta's right arm.

Vegeta swung his good arm out trying to catch Zarbon by surprise, but to his dismay, Zarbon easily caught his fist, "Mnmnmn, none of that Vegeta." Zarbon scolded wagging his finger at him as if he was a toddler, before crushing his hand. This time Vegeta did let out a pained yell, the bones in his fingers shattering nearly instantly.

"That's more like it, are you ready to beg?" He continued to squeeze, but the only response he received this time was a hate filled glare from Vegeta.

"Hmm, how to break you... I know." Zarbon fired a blast into Vegeta's stomach, a spray of blood coming from his mouth.

"Now then beg or die." Vegeta's captor continued, "Just one little 'Please Master Zarbon, make the pain stop.' And you can go back in the tank, come on Vegeta, I know you have it in you." he was practically giddy with anticipation.

Vegeta's pride held strong though as he continued to stare at Zarbon, his rage filled gaze getting more distant by the second.

Finally Zarbon conceded the game of chicken, if he let Vegeta die before Frieza had his fun with him Zarbon's fate would be worse than he could imagine. "Fine you win this time." he grumbled before getting the limp Prince back into the tank and resetting the timer.

"With any luck, I'll have a few more tries to get him to beg before Frieza gets back, now what to do with the stupid one." Zarbon thought to himself before leaving the room to check on Nappa's status.

In the tank, as the healing fluids rushed to repair the massive amount of damage the Saiyan Prince had just received, a very awake Vegeta heard each and every one of Zarbon's words. The pain he felt was excruciating, as bad as he had ever felt in his life, but in that moment the pain didn't matter to him, he welcomed it like a long lost friend or an honored ally. The pain he felt was the sacrifice he needed to make to achieve the one thing worth having at the moment, revenge. 'I hope we do get a chance to play your little game again Zarbon, next time though you'll be the one with a hole in your chest I guarantee it.' his lips forming into a smirk under his mask at the thought, 'I promise you Zarbon, you'll be begging for whatever death Frieza would've given you when I am through with you.'

(A few hours later)

"Finally, that took forever" Bulma complained as she stood up from the control chair and stretched her back. She had personally taken control of the craft to land it an hour before, and was now that they've finally touched down she was more than ready to get off the ship that had been more prison than home for the last three weeks.

Yamcha had similar feelings about the ship, there hadn't been a single moment of privacy for him and Bulma the entire trip, Tien or Chi Chi was always awake, constantly practicing the Kaioken technique or meditating in the corner. He had practiced some, but was nowhere near as obsessed about it as the other two were.

His thoughts were interrupted by Bulma, "All right you guys hang tight while I take a sample of the atmosphere, HEY!" she shouted after noticing both Chi Chi and Tien already outside examining the area around the ship. "Hurry get back in the air might be poisonous!" she shouted.

"Well the air looks fine to me." Yamcha said indicating the others, before joining his friends outside, eager for some fresh air.

"Yamcha-... Oh whatever if it hasn't killed them yet it probably won't." she finally conceded before joining the others on the surprisingly spare island. "Wow, not much here…" to say Bulma was disappointed was an understatement, she had been hoping to see more scientific marvels like the ship, but instead there was just a lot of nothing.

"Does the dragon radar, show anything?" Tien asked hoping the trip wasn't a wild goose chase.

"Let me check? Hey yeah, it looks like four of them are already together." She responded after pressing the tracking button a few times.

"What do we have here?" a malicious voice boomed from behind the group, those capable of fighting immediately raised their guard, while Bulma jumped behind Yamcha for protection.

"Looks like we have some unwanted visitors." One of the two aliens in Saiyan armour said to the other floating above the group.

"Lord Frieza doesn't like unwanted visitors." The other said his voice cold and dark, a villainous smirk crossing his face, before quickly firing a blast through the group's ship.

"Wouldn't want any of you to get any ideas of leaving though." he horned humanoid taunted before floating to the ground.

The Earthlings were shocked, now they were stuck on the planet with no way to get home. Chi Chi began to growl, a red aura forming around her, "I needed that to find my SON!" she shouted before vanishing.

Before either of the fighters could react, Chi Chi was in front of them, two powerful blasts already charged, "HAAA!" the beams completely swallowed the duo, vaporizing them in an instant.

(A few hundred miles away.)

Frieza's caravan had been making great progress gathering the mythical balls, already they had four of them under their control, and at the rate things were going he would have his wish by the end of the day.

Suddenly every scouter in the convoy began to beep, as many stopped and dropped into defensive stances expecting an imminent attack.

Frieza though was irritated at his soldiers delay, "And why are you stopping?" his tone just barely cold, if the soldiers hadn't known of the tyrant's reputation, they might not have realized just how gravely their lives were in danger.

"So-...sorry lord Frieza, we detected a high power level and-" the soldier failed to finish his sentence as he suddenly disappeared in a brilliant flash.

"Now then let that be a lesson to the rest of you. If you detect a power level we will be going towards it not stopping and hiding from it. Besides a power level of 4000 is completely irrelevant, unless it has a dragon ball we will annihilate the source and move on understand?" When everyone nodded Frieza reoriented his chair and began to go in that direction, his men hurrying to reform around him.

"Great job Chi Chi!" Bulma cheered, amazed by Chi Chi's strength.

Chi Chi's mood improved slightly at the compliment, she was still irritated at their lack of a ship. "Thanks Bulma, I should've acted sooner though." she growled. "Let's just get moving." She walked over and grabbed her pack that she had brought off with her, eager to get their hunt underway.

Tien and Yamcha just watch silently stunned at Chi Chi's power. Both were thinking along similar lines, 'Damn, I need to step up my training...' before moving to grab their packs too.

"Well, ok then." Bulma said her voice slightly uncertain as she caught her bag that Yamcha tossed down from the ruined ship, she was hesitant to leave the ship she had spent so much time working on and living in. 'A few minutes ago I couldn't wait to get off this thing, now all I want to do is get back on.' she glumly thought to herself, as their trek began.

They had only been flying for a few minutes, something about the encounter a few minutes ago had been bugging Tien, "Hey did you guys notice that those guys were wearing the same armour as the Saiyans and those other Aliens?"

"Now that you mention it yeah I did." Bulma responded a chill going down her spine as she remembered the awful things the invaders had done to her friends before Goku had arrived, even watching from satellite feed, the sights were something she would never forget.

"It seems like we really need to be on our guard, we probably shouldn't be flying, in case they have energy detecting devices like the others did." Tien responded.

"Hey is that a cave?" Chi Chi suddenly spoke up from the front, "We could use that for shelter for now." she quickly changed course for the rocky depression.

"Works for me." Tien said following her.

"I'm not sure that is the best id-" Bulma started to argue, but when Yamcha started to follow them too, she gave up dissuading them, and just enjoyed the ride Yamcha was giving her, 'Well at least it looks big enough for a capsule house at least' she finally reasoned.

Just as the Tien and Chi Chi reached the mouth of the cave, both stared into the distance, shocked looks on their face. A second later, after setting Bulma down a few feet away from the cave entrance, Yamcha joined them in their shock.

Tien was the first to snap out of it, "Yamcha! Grab Bulma quick!"

"Wha- HEY!" she shouted as the ex-bandit responded instantly scooping up the confused scientist and darting into the cave.

"What's the big idea" she shouted irritated at being left out of something.

"Bulma quiet. A huge power level is heading this way" Yamcha whispered, his body trembling slightly

"The darkness rolling off it is crazy." TIen added, sweat dripping from his forehead.

"I...I've never felt anything like this" Chi Chi said her voice shaky.

Bulma was now seriously freaked out, she had never seen the three of them act like this. 'Oh shit, oh shit, I can't die yet, I'm too young and pretty to die!' she thought inside her head as she quietly slipped further back into the cave.

A second later she saw her three friend's bodies going stiff, right as a massive blur shot past the entrance of the cave. As fast as it had appeared it was gone, and the four of them let out their breaths that they hadn't even known they were holding in.

"What the hell was that?" Bulma shrieked a second later, before Yamcha covered her mouth. "Quiet Bulma if any of them have hearing like Piccolo's they could come back." he whispered his voice filled with anxiety.

Everyone sat quietly a moment more, but the power levels didn't turn back around, they just continued on their path. It only took the trio who could sense energy a moment to find out just where they were going, a clump of small power levels in the distance were right along their path.

"I think there may be a village over there." Tien said, starting to get nervous for the natives. "Wait Bulma is there a Dragon Ball there?" he suddenly realized, worried that these dark forces could have a dragon ball radar of their own.

"Let me check?" She responded, pulling the round object from her pocket.

His fears were confirmed a moment later, "Uh, yeah...oh no, it looks like those four Dragon Balls are moving towards the other."

"So that insanely strong power signature we felt already has four and is about to have five of the Dragon Balls, Uh I'm not sure we're going to bring everyone back." Yamcha said suddenly feeling like leaving the cave could be a bad idea. "Maybe we should call and see if Master Roshi could bring the other ship so we can leave."

"No, we just need to get one of the balls, and we'll figure out a way to get the others." Chi Chi countered, not caring about bringing the others back as much as she was hoping to run into the Saiyans and get her son back, and leaving wouldn't accomplish that.

"That's a good idea as long as they don't have a Dragon Radar too." Bulma countered very much on Yamcha's side.

"Well we don't know if they have a radar, maybe we should check it out." She was curious to see what they were dealing with and more specifically if the Saiyans were with them.

"I second that, maybe we can figure out a way to get their Dragon Balls too." Tien added his voice.

"You two can go if you want but I'm not leaving this cave." Bulma crossed her arms daring either of them to tell her differently.

"Yeah and I'll stay here and make sure no one gets you while they're gone." Yamcha added in, more than happy to get some alone time with Bulma, and not risk his neck against some monster that made the invaders that attacked Earth seem like afterthoughts

"Whatever, come on Tien." Chi Chi mumbled as he turned to leave.

"Be sure to keep our power low, that way that can't detect us." he added, before jumping island to island, Chi Chi right behind him.

3 hours, for at least the last 3 hours he felt nothing but agony, even when Zarbon wasn't focusing on him, the pain of not being strong enough to kill his tormentor ate away at the Saiyan Prince. Soon though, soon he would be strong enough to snap Frieza's yes man's neck like a twig, first him and then Frieza.

In the distance he could hear his servant's wails of pain, he had a good idea what Zarbon was currently doing to him, but he couldn't focus on that now, he just needed time, time to heal, time to get stronger.

In the distance he could hear Nappa's yells of pain beginning to fade, 'Damn it Nappa!' he telekinetically shouted at his onetime bodyguard, now turned diversion. 'Don't you dare pass out you oaf! Give me just a few more minutes and I will kill the piece of crap.' he mentally ordered.

'I...I'll...try...Vegeta...' Nappa responded, he was having trouble keeping his mind clear enough to respond as Zarbon continued to crush his legs one handful at a time.

He gathered as much strength as he possibly could, and channeled it into one blast ready to launch in his throat. Just as his mouth opened to scream again, much to Zarbon's delight, a blast of orange energy came out instead of sound.

The Planet Trade General's eye's opened in surprise before his field of vision turned orange, when the blast had past, he could feel a slight burnt sensation on his face, much like a sunburn he would receive from the intense star light of his home star. Besides that he could smell some charred hair, likely his seeing how his victim was bald.

Rage overwhelmed him. "I SPENT 2 HOURS GETTING MY HAIR AND FACE RIGHT!" He screamed, power rolling off him like steam as he plunged his hand into Nappa's lower abdomen. "So, I will now spend the next four hours rearranging your organs you filthy, imbecile of a monkey." His last few worlds barely above a whisper, as Nappa could barely stay conscious the pain was so overwhelming, but he pushed through it as best he could, he had given the King his world he would protect the Prince, with his life if it came to that. He hadn't spent the last two decades suffering under Frieza's rule only for them to die here, so close to attaining immortality and avenging their race. 'I can't quit!'

The thought drove him on; time seemed to stand still, as wave after wave of pain shot through his body. He couldn't imagine how long had passed he just hoped it would be long enough that Vegeta could save him.

Vegeta could feel his power growing by the second, the wounds not only from Zarbon, but from the disaster on Earth as well. He didn't stop when he had eclipsed Zarbon's power though, he was going to make sure he could dominate Frieza's secretary, and get a proper revenge for all the pain he had been forced to suffer, 'I always keep my promises Zarbon, I can't wait to hear you beg.'

Nappa couldn't take it anymore, he couldn't hold on any longer, darkness was forcing itself on his vision, and his years of combat had him fairly sure this darkness was the more permanent kind, not the blissful arms of unconsciousness, but the vengeful arms of death.

He could already feel the life draining from him, as he was pulled under. Panic began to overtake him, he began to physically see the arms of the billions he had killed over his decades of purging planets shooting up through the floor and wrapping around him, he was too weak to even call out any more; it was all he could do to not get dragged under.

'Shit!' Zarbon thought to himself when he pulled himself from his blood lust, fear beginning to trickle into the back of his mind, he had overdone it, clearly overdone it, the amount of blood on the ground was more than evidence of that, as Nappa weakly lashed out hoarsely whispering about arms killing him.

'Frieza is going to kill me if he doesn't get to finish both Saiyans off himself, Shit shit shit.' His panic blossoming full forth as he grabbed an emergency patch and stuck it to the gaping wound in the giant's stomach, the adhesive surface completely sealing the wound off and keeping the small amount of blood still in him from escaping.

Quickly he grabbed a bag of blood substitute; one of the planet trade's best medical inventions, the nanobots inside could effectively fill the role of the life-bearing liquids of nearly every species under the galaxy wide empire's command, in addition to helping seal internal wounds. He connected the needle from the bag into one of the veins in his arm. Giving the bag a slight squeeze, he could see the line of green tracing up the arm.

Finally the panicked look on Nappa's face began to subside, and the Planet Trade general wasn't sure if it was because the Saiyan was finally losing the battle for his life, or because the stream of nanobots had finally begun to stabilize his wounds and the Giant was slipping unconscious.

After a few more tense minutes Nappa's breathing began to stabilize, as he slipped completely into a state of unconsciousness, his battle done for the moment.

Zarbon stared down at the giant, he had to admit as much as he hated the Saiyans they were sure gluttons for punishment, he had never seen someone stay conscious for over 15 minutes with a hand jammed up inside their stomach. Part of him would miss getting the opportunity to torture these two as thoroughly as he had the past twenty years, his moment of nostalgia quickly ended though as a sadistic smile once again spread across his face "Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to start over with the long haired monkey and his brat nephew."

With Nappa seemingly stabilized and back in his healing tank, he turned to go give Vegeta another dose of agony, determined to get as much fun out of the two Saiyans in his care as he could while he had the chance.

When he arrived in the chamber that Vegeta was being healed in he noticed the timer he had set to take Vegeta out was already going off, 'Hmm, I must've lost more time than I thought on that oaf, no time like the present though.' He pressed the button and let the fluids drain. "Time to get up Prince-" Zarbon's sentence was cut off as Vegeta's hand suddenly entered his lower abdomen in nearly the same spot as he was just torturing Nappa. "Ve-Vegeta…" he finally finished weakly shock overwhelming his system.

"Yes Zarbon, I made a promise to you didn't I?" Vegeta asked his voice on the verge of deliriousness. The look of an apex predator eyeing a young injured calf plastered on his face.

Zarbon was forced further back, as he tried to keep himself standing, the pain he felt was unlike anything he had ever experienced. "What... are... you… talking about." each word was painful, but he was desperate to buy time, the time he would need to transform, somehow Vegeta was now strong enough to hurt him in his preferred form.

"Oh that's right; I was already in the tank when I made that promise." Vegeta said with a smirk, as he began to charge a blast, ready to begin getting his revenge.

"Ha too late Vegeta!' Zarbon suddenly shouted as his form expanded, surprise overtook the Saiyan prince for a moment as he watched the once effeminate alien transform into a creature whose looks were on par with Dodoria.

"You see Vegeta, this is my true form, my true strength, I made the mistake of underestimating you monkeys but not again, now you die-" He was cut off as Vegeta began to laugh. "What...What are you laughing at, you filthy monkey."

But Vegeta didn't respond, he just continued to laugh, "My, my, my, aren't you something. You just look ridiculous now, but if this is really how you want to be when you die, then go ahead, be my guest." He could feel the gap in their power that had recently formed still stayed in his favor, he wasn't even at full strength but he could still have his fun.

'He, he can't really think he can take me right now can he? No he doesn't have a scouter, he must be underestimating my power.' "Take this you dirty monkey!" he shouted lurching forward his fist launching forward with all of his might, only for his fist to be stopped by Vegeta's waiting hand, An infuriating smirk on his face

"Come on Zarbon, press the button, I know you're dying to know just as much as I am." Vegeta said his voice with just a hint of anticipation. Zarbon made no move though; he simply stared slack jawed at the creature he had tortured for so long.

"I SAID PRESS IT!" Vegeta shouted, snapping Zarbon from his fear induced trance. Slowly he reached up and pressed the sensor button. "His eyes widened in fear as the number kept rising, only confirming what he already knew, in a matter of seconds, after the sensor had passed 25,000 the device shattered, the number itself was impressive, more than his normal form, but would've been nothing compared to his full power, at least it would've if he hadn't already feared Vegeta was much stronger than that.

Vegeta stared at the changeling for a moment more, "Well are you going to tell me what it said?" His voice eerily calm, only adding to Zarbon's growing fear.

Finally he answered, only hoping to buy himself more time to think of a way to escape. "Twenty...twenty-five thousand..." His voice cracking part way through the first word.

"Yes, those machines always did have a problem with failing whenever you really needed to know the strength of an actual possible threat. I used to think it was just the junk ones Frieza always gave us, but now I know all of these machines, are nothing but useless pieces of crap."

Zarbon couldn't believe it was Vegeta going to just stand there and rant about the scouters, was he really going to let him charge his energy up for another attack. He was smiling on the inside, 'Stupid monkey.'

"Unfortunately for you, I have found the perfect replacement for the scouters, and its right here." Vegeta finished point towards his head, causing a look of confusion to spread across Zarbon's face.

"That's right Zarbon, I've learned to feel the energy around us, without the use of you feeble toys, I know you're channeling the pitiful amount of energy you have left for some attack, well go ahead I'm waiting."

The confidence that Vegeta was oozing was causing doubt to build in the back of Zarbon's mind, 'Maybe after I fire I should run. No! I am Zarbon the elegant, second in command to Frieza himself terror of the galaxy I won't run from a monkey!" "Silence you filthy simian! Elegant Blaster!" A blast of orangish-yellow energy completely enveloping the Saiyan Prince and blasting a hole out of the side of the ship. When it was done Zarbon stood there panting, praying his attack had done the job. His heart began to beat into his throat though as the smoke clear, and Vegeta stood there without a scratch on him, his smirk as dark as ever.

"Very good Zarbon, you almost managed to singe some of my hair, too bad for you I'm completely out of your league." Before Zarbon could react, Vegeta shot a single finger out, a beam of purple energy cutting right through the blue alien's leg at the knee.

As he fell, screaming to the ground, both his arms clutching to his newly formed stump, Vegeta's voice rang out, "This is the end of the road for you Zarbon, now I get to pay you back for all the years of misery."

"Please Vegeta no, we can team up together we would be unstoppable. Frieza wouldn't even be able to touch us." He pleaded desperate to save himself from whatever fate the Saiyan Prince had in store for him.

"Unstoppable you say? Sure, I like the idea of that." His face softening for an instant, as his hand reached out to help him up.

Zarbon couldn't believe it, was Vegeta that foolish to trust him? A smile spread across the space pirate's face as he reached out and grasped Vegeta's hand, Frieza would be disappointed with him, but at least he would likely live after he betrayed Vegeta and turned him over to Frieza.

As soon as their hands touched though Vegeta's face twisted into an enraged snarl, "What kind of idiot do you think I am!" his hand crushing every bone in Zarbon's hand, "No I will have my revenge you fool!"

Zarbon's screams and Vegeta's mad laughter filled the ship for the next several minutes, before finally for the first time in hours, silence descended over the gore filled ship. The blood soaked Vegeta calmly re-entered his healing tank, eager to finish attaining his full strength. "Soon Frieza, I'll have you cut into twice as many pieces as Zarbon, I swear it."

It was a short ten minutes of traveling before Chi Chi and Tien arrived at a ridge overlooking the village, already several of the natives had apparently been killed. Now only a single elder Namekian and two young children remained cowering behind his wrinkled form.

Neither could hear what was being said but there could definitely see the fear on their faces. Chi Chi's rage was burning white hot, Tien mentally tried to keep her calm, 'Chi Chi not yet, we'd be slaughtered if we went down there.' he thought at her.

'If they so much as touch those kids I'll kill them all myself.' Chi Chi responded still watching like a hawk, the only thing she could see when she saw those kids was her own son standing there shaking and afraid, without their mothers to protect them.

Just when Chi Chi didn't think she could take it anymore, they both detected three new power levels approaching, and watched on as the three new arriving Namekians made quick work of the weakest of the soldiers, both knowing they would be completely outmatched by the last two. As they both fought the urges to try and intervene.

"Hmmm, it seems that we have underestimated them, Qui if you would." Frieza ordered, not concerned in the slightest.

"Yes right away Lord Frieza, it would be my pleasure." Qui responded before firing a blast through the lead Namekians head. The other two stood there shocked for a moment, unable to process what had just happened to their friend. Unfortunately they were out of time in the world as well; Qui quickly went to work finishing them off as well.

In the meantime Elder Moori watched on in horror, 'No they can't stop them, I have to, I need to find a way to delay them so maybe Nail can save the other villages but how. Of course I need to time this right, there are three of their devices still intact.'

One minute and three precise shots later, the two remaining Namekian warriors, and the three scouters were all gone from this world.

Unfortunately his actions had enraged the Tyrant. "That's it, you slug-man trash, tell me where the Dragon Ball is this instant, or Qui will be killing the children as well." he shouted,

Moori was about to concede only to save the kids when a new sound erupted. "Kaioken times three!"

As soon as the smaller Alien had mentioned hurting the two small alien children Chi Chi had snapped.

Summoning her full strength she launched forward "Aghhhh" her attack fell short though when the larger purple Alien turned around and caught her kick in his open palm with ease. Before her eyes had even finished widening in surprise, Qui had already pulled her into a bone shattering punch to her gut, taking all of the fight out of her, her body slumped forward before his other hand closed down on her throat.

"Who do we have here?" Frieza asked, generally interested at the new arrival. "And why do you look so similar to the Saiyans?"

Chi Chi could barely manage to keep one eye open, everything hurt so bad.

Moori was shocked at the turn of events, 'Who in the world is that?'

'Damn it Chi Chi.' Tien was shocked with the turn of events, how the hell was he going to get her out of this one. 'I'll only have one shot at this.' Keeping his power low he began to quietly make his way towards the group.

"Come now, answer my questions or I'll have to start ripping your limbs off." Frieza added his voice sickeningly sweet.

When Chi Chi still didn't respond, Qui's grip was too tight on her throat, he continued, "Alright would you prefer to lose an arm or a leg." Frieza continued, his smile widening as a look of panic spread across Chi Chi's face.

"Hey!"

Everyone turned to see Tien standing there, hands up near his face, fingers spread wide.

"Who do we have-" Before Frieza could finish his sentence, he was cut off by Tien shouting "Solar Flare!"

Chi Chi slammed her eyes shut the moment she saw Tien there, not wanting to be blinded.

Both Frieza and Qui let out a scream of pain as the bright light burned into their retinas; Chi Chi was dropped to the ground, as Qui's hands rushed to his burning eyes.

As soon as she hit the ground she was in motion, snatching up the two blinded kids. Tien followed her lead by scooping up the elder. As he began to rocket away though, something hit him. 'The Dragon Balls!' Quickly he exerted his telekinetic abilities to the four Dragon Balls gathered near the smaller figured, with a flick of his finger, the four objects formed up around him, and away he went, a bright smile on his face. 'Well maybe this will work out after all.' he thought to himself as he powered up to his Kaioken times three and caught up with the others.

"Let's get back to camp; hopefully without those devices they won't be able to find us." Chi Chi said trying to sustain her power multiplier long enough to get away.

"Sounds like a plan, I'm sure the others will be excited to see these." Tien said indicating the four Dragon Balls trailing them.

"You rescued the Dragon Balls!" Moori cheered shouting the obvious, as his eyes just beginning to recover, as he thanked the Kais that these mysterious heroes had rescued him and the children.

"You betcha I did, we'll talk more when we get there though, I'm not sure how much longer we can keep this pace up right now." Tien responded, focusing his attention back to sustaining his increase in strength.

Frieza was furious no one caused him pain and lived to talk about it, unfortunately when his vision cleared, everyone except Qui was gone. Panic suddenly hit him as he looked at the ground and the four Dragon Balls he had gathered were gone too.

"NO CURSE THEM! THEY STOLE MY DRAGON BALLS! AHHHH!" Frieza shouted rage overtaking him, his power bursting forth in the form of a massive explosion.

Qui still hadn't recovered from the blinding light, and when Frieza released his anger he never would, the blast completely swallowed him, his body turning to ash in an instant.

The blast continued to expand and soon had swallowed most of the island. When it ended Frieza sat there growling quietly to himself, he wasn't going to miss out on a chance of immortality, he would kill everything on this backwater world before he let that happen.

He shot into the air, spinning around trying to get some idea which direction the crooks had gone. But no matter which direction he looked things looked exactly the same. "Curse these backwaters, I've got to get back to the ship, Zarbon should still have his scouter, then I'll kill them, I'll kill them all." Just then he seemingly disappeared, moving at speeds that defied the mind as he shot across the landscape.

Down below at the edge of the island, buried under the some of the rubble from one of the huts; lay an orange round ball with several red stars on the side, hidden from view of the outside world.

(Inside Frieza's ship.)

Vegeta had been asleep for a short time now that the ship was completely abandoned, besides him and Nappa that is. His sleep was over now, his still new Ki sense felt like it was burning a hole through his brain. 'What is that, no that can't be Frieza? Can it?.' in his stomach he knew it was though.

'Wait no he's heading this way and fast, I've got to get out of here!' Vegeta blasted through the door of his healing tank and out into the ship, running at full speed he pulled Nappa's tank open not waiting for it drain, and pulled the giant out.

Although he had been in his healing pod for nearly thirty minutes Nappa was still in incredibly rough shape, his wounds were barely closed underneath the emergency patch, but it would have to do for the time being.

"Hey Vegeta, boy am I glad to see you, if Zarbon pulled me out again I might not have made it." Nappa said weakly, his eyes straining to stay open.

"Shut up you idiot, Frieza's coming, I need to know if you can fly." Vegeta responded harshly.

Nappa's eyes focused better, "Uh... I could probably manage for a few minutes, I'm still in rough shape?" the giant's tone matching Vegeta's seriousness.

"Good enough, if you fall behind though, I won't be coming back for you." Vegeta said before blasting a hole in the roof, and flying through. Nappa watched for a second, gathering up as much strength as he could before following Vegeta through the gap in the ceiling.

Vegeta was already receding into the distance, and Nappa could feel his body straining, but he did his best to keep up. After a short five minute flight, Vegeta decided they were far enough and set down. It took Nappa nearly another few minutes to land, he was panting, barely able to stand.

"Damn it Nappa, Frieza has already made it to his ship, and has probably realized we're gone; drop you power level." Vegeta chided.

"Uh...ok... sorry….. Vegeta…" instead of dropping his power level though, Nappa just dropped to the ground unconscious, the strain of the flight too much for his injury riddled body.

"Well his power is down at least." Vegeta growled as he dragged Nappa's limp body into the bushes, before walking off to find something to eat, all the while admiring the new power flowing through his veins. 'I might not be a match for Frieza yet, but once I have my immortality no one will ever stand a chance against me.' A dark smile spread across his face as he began to think about how he would finish Frieza off, it had to be something grander than the end he had given Zarbon. 'No matter how it comes, your end is coming soon.'

Tien, Chi Chi, and the three Namekians that were with them landed and stood still for a minute, waiting for the stunned numbness to wear off of them. The amount of power they felt being released was unreal.

"I think...I think we should keep a low profile for a while." Tien finally managed to say, his tongue almost completely dry.

"Yeah… I think that's a good idea..." Chi Chi still felt numb.

The Namekians just stood off to the side, quietly trying to come to terms not only with the terror they were forced to witness that day, but also the power of their tormentor, at least for the moment they seemed safe.

"Thank you for saving us." Moori finally worked himself up enough to say. "If I may ask though, what do you know of the objects you have taken from the small devil." he continued.

Tien and Chi Chi were surprised at the question but responded instantly, "We know they can grant wishes, our planet used to have a set too, we need them to resurrect our friends who died fighting monsters like the people attacking your world." Tien responded, as honestly as he could.

Moori used the ability Guru had taught him as a child to test to see if the man's words were true, eventually he decided he was telling the truth, "I sense no dishonesty in your words, nor evil in your souls, I will not oppose your attempts to gather the Dragon Balls. By the way, there was one last dragon ball in my village that the monsters who attacked us had not gotten yet, I am unsure if they have it in their possession now though." The elder Namekian explained.

Both the human's eyes widened in surprise, "Hurry we need to go get it before they do." Chi Chi shouted upset that they couldn't have gotten all the Dragon Balls in one go.

"No first let's check the dragon radar, maybe they don't know it's still there yet." Tien countered.

"Dragon radar?" Moori had no clue what they were referring to.

"We'll show you, our friends are just inside." Tien answered walking towards the cave, the rest of the group right behind them.

They entered the cave, and into the small capsule house that sat in the back of it. The three Namekians were surprised that a house could've been built so fast, it seemed like the aliens had just arrived.

Everyone walked in, expecting to see Bulma and Yamcha doing something useful, but neither could be found.

Reaching out with their Ki senses they found them both in the back bedroom, as soon as the group got close, some distant sounds could be heard, sounds that caused both Tien and Chi Chi to visibly blush.

"Uh, I think maybe we should come back later." Tien said, turning to leave.

"What but why?" one of the Namekian children asked, Moori was equally intrigued as to the sudden change in plans.

Both Chi Chi and Tien suddenly blushed brighter at the thought of having to explain why they couldn't go in the room right then, they assumed it would be obvious.

"Well…" Tien started to try and explain, unsure if Namekians were different than Earthlings, but before he could Chi Chi decided to make things easier. "Yamcha! Bulma! We have guests!" she suddenly shouted, a second later, Bulma yelped, and they heard something heavy, likely a person, hit the ground, "Uhhhh…. Just a second!" Yamcha shouted back, panic in his voice.

Several minutes of rustling later Yamcha hastily opened the door, his shirt inside out and his pants still unzipped "Um so what's up guys?" embarrassment in his voice. Bulma appeared a second later, a bright brush on her face, her hair a mess.

"Uh…" Chi Chi's face was even brighter red now, "Well we ended up having a run in with those dark, powerful guys, but it actually ended up ok, see." Chi Chi said indicating the 4 Dragon Balls floating behind them.

"Wow, that's great guys!" Bulma shouted, "Wow these are a lot bigger than the ones on Earth for sure." She then turned to the Namekians, "So you guys must be the Namekian's it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Bulma." She said extending her hand.

Moori simply looked at her hand unsure what to do, "Why have you extended your hand?"

"Oh, on Earth that's the usual way to greet someone." Bulma responded surprised that it wasn't common elsewhere, especially since they apparently spoke the same language.

"Oh alright then, I am Moori, these two behind me are Cargo and Dende." Moori said introducing the children, as he reached his hand straight out in front of him as well, his hand well away from Bulma's.

"Moori, do you happen to know where the other two Dragon Balls are?" Tien asked, hoping to get some clues into where the last two balls would be, as Bulma, blush brighter, retracted her arm slowly. Moori noticing this followed suit, in an attempt to follow the odd tradition of his rescuers.

"Let me look at which ones you have, hmm, okay, well besides the one that may or may not be back on my island, there is one at a village far to the south, and the last one is with the grand elder Guru." Moori finished.

"Grand elder? So like you're leader?" Yamcha asked, wanting to make sure he understood the Namekian.

"Yes he is the father of all of my people." Moori responded, surprised as everyone's eyes bulged.

"Wait you mean you're all related?" Bulma exclaimed.

"Yes we are all brothers." Cargo said excitedly, joining the conversation for the first time.

"Wait what!?" Bulma shouted, "You mean there are no girls?"

"What's a girl?" Dende added in, causing all the humans to sweat drop.

"I'm a girl!" Bulma shouted, it was like Goku all over again.

"So you are all girls?" Ask Moori trying to follow the Earthling's reasoning.

"No those two are male, me and Chi Chi are female!" Bulma tried to explain.

"But I thought you said you were a girl?" Dende added in.

"Just forget it, it's complicated and we'll just have to explain it later." Bulma finally conceded defeat on the subject.

"Could you guys take us to any of the other Dragon Balls?" Chi Chi asked, eager to finish the Dragon Ball hunt and get onto the hunt for her son.

"Yes, I think it may be wise to consult with the Grand Elder about the attack on our world anyway." Moori decided.

"Great, me and Tien can go with you to the grand elder's while Yamcha goes to get the other Dragon Ball, that's hopefully back on your island still." Chi Chi unilaterally decided.

"Wait what?" Yamcha shouted surprised.

"Well you're not doing anything else useful so you might as well check it out and see if it's still there, if not you can head to the last village." She explained.

"Wait what about me!" Bulma cut in, uneasy at the idea of being left alone.

"Have you called Earth to see if they can bring another ship for us to leave?" Chi Chi continued.

"Uh… no not yet." Bulma said the rosy color returning to her checks.

"Great, you have something to do." Said responded, as she turned to leave, the others right behind her, leaving only her and Yamcha standing there again.

"Hey babe, wanna finish what we were-" Yamcha started to whisper when Chi Chi shouted, "Get moving Yamcha!" the fire burning in her eye's was enough to make the former bandit immediately turn to grab the dragon radar and get moving, lest he unleash Chi Chi's wrath. "Sorry Bulma got to go." He hollered as he ran out of the front of the house.

"Wow, I need Chi Chi to teach me how to do that sometime." She muttered out loud, surprised by how easily she got Yamcha to be productive.

Master Roshi was slowly losing hope that most of his newest students would ever close the gap between where they were and where he was at, there were two surprising exceptions though. They included a small girl, and the champion of the tryout tournament. Both running towards the middle of the pack of students, the older one carrying a 50lbs turtle shell on his back. But by the way the five year old could keep up with the full grown fighters; he could just tell there was something special about her.

(flashback)

The first day of training was not going how Master Roshi had hoped; the morning run really separated those who had been pushing themselves and those who had never been challenged before.

"This is bullshit!" "How does he expect us to keep running, we've been at this for over an hour!" "My leg!" He could hear the voices of the tired trainees began to rain through the valley Master Roshi was now meditating in, while he waited for the others to catch up. 'What a bunch of cry babies, Goku and Krillin did better than this when they were kids' he thought to himself.

"Yay! You did great daddy!" the little girl, Videl, shouted and ran over to hug her sweat drenched father, who had barely held onto his lead the entire time.

"Thanks sweet-pea, but it wasn't much of an accomplishment for the champ!" he boasted, puffing his chest up, even though his legs felt like jello at the moment. The other fighters threw glares at him. Videl responded by sticking her tongue out at them when her father wasn't looking.

Master Roshi decided it was time to intervene, "Very good, that was a solid warm up." he complimented, although he wasn't thrilled with their collective times.

"Warm up!" the group of thirty of the strongest men and women in the world shouted, each hoping them had heard him wrong.

"Yes it was a warm up, you don't think you can move past your normal limitations with the same old workout you always have, do you?" he scolded.

One of the men in the back, a giant of a man, shouted, before turning to leave, "I don't have to put up with this, I'm one of the strongest men in the world, I'm out."

Several other voices of agreement followed, as some of the other fighters decided it wasn't worth it. Master Roshi made no move to stop them, much to Sgt. Caspin's surprise. By the time it had ended, only 18 of the original fighters remain.

"Ok that's better, those of you who are left must be those more serious about your training, let's get started."

The next few hours were absolutely grueling, and by the end of it, two more of the fighters had dropped out. The only ones who remained, were actually dedicated to their training, or were too stubborn to quit something once they had started something.

"We're getting kind of thin." Sgt. Caspin complained, as he and Master Roshi watched the group make another pass through the lake.

"Yes, we may have to make a few calls to the runner ups this evening." Master Roshi responded continuing to watch them.

Their discussion was interrupted by a small voice, "Mr. Turtleshell?" Videl asked looking up at the old man, who seemingly never took his shell off.

When the bearded man turned around and watched the girl expectedly, "Can I train too? It looks like a lot of fun" she exclaimed with the excitement only a small child could.

Master Roshi hand went to his chin as he thought it out before deciding, "If it is ok with you dad, I'm sure I can find some sort of training for you can do." He responded.

"No I don't want to do some training, I want to train like my daddy is!" she shouted defiantly.

'Well even if I say yes her father wouldn't let her.' he reasoned "I would let you if you can get your dad to say yes."

"Yay!" she shouted as she started to skip towards the lake.

"Wait till he's done." Master Roshi called after her.

"Awww!" she pouted and went back to watching.

After the days training had ended, Master Roshi was confronted by Hercule, "What do you mean you said you wouldn't have a problem letting her train! She's just a little girl" he shouted, rage burning in his eyes, that same fire temporarily bringing life back to his tired frame.

"All I said was that I wouldn't have a problem with it if you didn't, my two best students were just children when they started their training, not as young as your daughter, but they were still children nonetheless. Besides if you don't want her to, then she won't." Master Roshi countered, surprised he didn't just tell the girl no.

"See daddy its ok!" Videl shouted, apparently eavesdropping on the conversation.

Hercule tried several more times to tell her no, but Videl was having none of it and eventually broke her father's resolve down with her stubborn attitude, the next morning she was on the run with the others, though at a much slower pace, her small legs were just unable to keep up.

(end of flashback)

Every day since then she made remarkable strides, slowly but surely closing the gap between her and the other trainees, finally she was able to start passing them when Master Roshi broke out the turtle shells for the strongest of the fighters, much to their collective dismay.

Now though she was the only one without a turtle shell to carry, but the fact she could keep up with the others so well, meant soon she would be able to take her own training to the next level, Master Roshi could honestly say she was the one fighter who showed enough promise that he was actually excited about her potential. "Some day she will be a great fighter, I am sure of it.'

His prophesying was cut short though by his longtime companion, "Master Roshi! Master Roshi!" turtle shouted, slowly making his way to the turtle hermit.

"What is it Turtle?" he asked surprised by his old friend's tone.

"News from Namek, Bulma is calling." he shouted.

In an instant Master Roshi ran back to the house, and answered the video phone, hoping to get a good look at the blue heiress's body. "Heeeyyy Bulma!" he shouted before noticing a red mark on her neck, "Is that a hickie?" The second question caused Bulma's face to suddenly match the mark on her neck.

"Nooo! You old pervert!" she shouted back at the screen, though they both knew it was a lie.

After glaring at him for a moment, she continued. "Anyway, we need someone to bring a ship for us as soon as possible; ours got attacked by some guys who looked like they were with the aliens that attacked the Earth."

Master Roshi had been dreading the possibility that the could be attacked out there, but at least it appeared the aliens weren't focusing on the Earth at the moment, so that was a plus at least. "That's not good, I think your dad said the second ship would be ready sometime soon, I can give him a call and ask as soon as I hang up with you." the Turtle Hermit responded.

"How's the Dragon Ball hunt going though?" He decided to continue, his curiosity getting the better of him.

"Other than the ship getting destroyed, we're off to a great start, we already have four Dragon Balls, and the others are on their way to hopefully the others." She said excitedly.

"Wow that's great, I figured you guys would have a much harder time finding them all than that. Anyway, I'll give you dad a call and let you know what I find out." Master Roshi said, his eyes widening slightly under his sunglasses in surprise.

"Alright sounds good." She responded before the line was cut.

Master Roshi wasted no time and called Dr. Brief, he was in for a big surprise, "Hi Dr. Briefs?"

"How are you this fine day Master Roshi?" the eccentric inventor asked.

"Not bad the training has started well. But I unfortunately don't have time for small talk, I just got a call from Bulma apparently her ship has been damaged and she needs us to send another one so they can get home as soon as possible."

Dr. Briefs just laughed on the other side of the line, "Yes that sounds like Bulma, when she was first learning to drive she went through quite a few cars." He stopped to chuckle again for a moment, "Luckily though, Goku just left for Namek a few minutes ago, he should be arriving in a few weeks."

That was news to Roshi, as disbelief washed over him, "Wait what? Seriously, last time I visited him they said it would be another month before he was ready to leave."

"Yes, he said something about a cat delivering beans to him. I wish I could get Scratch here to learn tricks like that, he tends to never leave my shoulder." Dr. Briefs said on the verge of getting off on one of his famous tangents.

"Well, that's good to hear regardless, I will let Bulma know right away." he hurriedly said cutting the long conversation off in its infancy.

"Alright, tell her to pick up any strays she might find out there, we have plenty of room here." Dr. Briefs blurted out before hanging up and getting back to his work. Leaving a perplexed Master Roshi on the other line. 'Never a dull moment talking to him.' he thought to himself, before dialing Bulma's number once a again, 'Hopefully she'll be excited about the good news.' he thought to himself, hoping to see her jump with excitement, blood beginning to drip down in his nose at the thought.

Frieza was shaking; rage, fury, or a thousand other similar words he had heard over his decades ruling over a good chunk of the galaxy, all failed to describe what he was feeling right now.

"THOSE DAMN, DIRTY MONKEYS! DEFYING ME AT EVERY TURN!" if all of the crew were not already dead, he would've vaporized them in an instant just out of spite. "First monkeys steal my Dragon Balls! Then the two monkeys' I had captured escaped! How did this happen!" he shouted at the bloody remains of what was left of Zarbon's body.

"I need them here, it's my only option, I have to call now!" he shouted to himself, as he blasted through the walls separating each room from one another, before coming to land in his throne room. Pressing a few buttons, a shadowy figure appeared on the screen. "Lord Frieza! What can I do for you sire." he said with a bow.

"I have no time for pleasantries Captain, I have an emergency and I need you on Namek now!" Frieza shouted his tone frantic.

"Right away sir, we'll leave this instant." Captain Ginyu responded, his men going into motion behind him immediately.

"One more thing Ginyu, I need you to bring me a new scouter, mine is damaged, and my useless crew are already all dead." he growled out.

"Right away Lord Frieza. We will push it double time to get to you." With that Frieza cut the line, the only thing he had left to do was wait. 'Damn monkeys!'

"Alright, now that I have this thing going, time to get down to business." Goku said punching one hand into his other, before walking over to the gravity controls, "Well I've already trained in 10 ten times gravity, better bump it up to eleven."

After entering the settings, he began his work out, 'Don't worry guys, I'm coming, and this time I'll be ready to beat the Saiyans fair and square and get my son back!.' Determination flashed across his face as he began to push himself even harder. 'I won't let you down again.'

Hey everyone, the Namek saga is now picking up speed, I hope everyone enjoyed the chapter! I kind of surprised myself with how fast I got this one done, especially since 4th of july was this week and all, but luckily for you guys I through out my back pretty bad on 4th of July, leaving me with extra time to write. Because I am moving later this week though, It will probably be awhile before I can get the next one up.

Reviews:

Gohan1125- That's that means alot to me that you think so highly of the story, I hope I can continue to keep it up to your expectations!

Mickj6- Yeah I haven't seen many with Nappa on Namek either, most of the one's that have him survive the initial battle either don't have the Saiyans on Namek at all, or have Nappa die some other way before getting there.

super mystic gohan- Hey again, glad you're still liking the story! About the Kaioken explain, I noticed how most stories don't really explain it so I figured if everyone else was learning it they would need to know what to do.

Most of this latest batch of fighters will be very minor supporting characters, there are a few though who will become semi-major players later on.

I kind of am surprised about less reviews also, but you take what you can get I guess, I am very appreciative for every review I do get though, so I hope everyone keeps them coming!

Till next time everyone, I hope you're enjoying you summers.
