Chapter 17: Ginyu or Vegeta?
Ginyu's eye's widened in shock, "No… No that's not possible." He felt a mixture of emotions at that moment, rage, sorrow, disbelief, all stemming from the severing of over a decade of comradery. Finally rage won out, as the faces of each of his comrades passed before his eyes. "Well then Vegeta, if what you say is true, you are even stupider than I thought." Ginyu growled his veins nearly popping out of his forehead. "There is a reason I am the Captain, you'll find I am much, much stronger than my men. I'm going to enjoy crushing the life out of both of you." he said as he fell into his stance.
"Oh how I would like to see you try Ginyu." Vegeta responded falling into a stance of his own, he said with a sneer.
Nappa took a step back, ready to watch the fireworks begin, a confident smirk of his own plastered on his face.
The tension was almost visible in the air as two titans prepared to collide. With a yell both took off ready for what may be the fight of their lives.
In a flash the two fighters rushed forward their hands locking with each other trying to force the other back, the force from their initial meeting not only sent a massive shock wave out in all directions, but also indented the ground beneath their feet.
"Damn, this is intense. They're both way out of our league if we only use a times three." Tien whispered to Chi Chi as the shock wave cracked the rock they had just ducked behind.
"Yeah, that's for sure. Hopefully they can take each other out so we only have to worry about the big guy." She responded, her eyes scanning the area for any sign of the Dragon Balls.
"Here hand me the dragon radar." She finally ordered not seeing the magical orbs anywhere.
Tien was quiet for a second before responding, "I thought you brought it."
"Oh shit!" Bulma suddenly shouted noticing the object she had yet to set down since being forcibly removed from her temporary home less than 10 minutes ago.
"What is it babe?" Yamcha asked as he rushed into her room.
"I can't believe it, I forgot to hand them the dragon radar." She said aghast.
Yamcha had a sinking feeling in his gut as he realized the implications of the group's collective oversight.
"Quick you need to take it to the others, otherwise they won't be able to find the Dragon Balls." Bulma ordered confirming Yamcha's fears.
"Are you sure that's a good idea, they found you once and could do it again." He reasoned trying to scare Bulma into seeing his side of things. "Besides I'm sure they can find them fine without the dragon radar, it's not like they buried them or anything."
Unfortunately for the ex-bandit, he could immediately tell Bulma wasn't buying it. "And what if they did bury the Dragon Balls? They would never find them." Bulma retorted, agitation thick in her voice.
"Fine, I'll take it." Yamcha conceded, though he wasn't happy about it.
The titanic force between the two fighters continued to build until finally they couldn't keep it back any longer without revealing the true extent of each of their respective strengths, so they broke apart.
"Not bad Vegeta, I can see now how you were able to overpower my men. Let's see what power level you've somehow managed to attain." Ginyu sneered, knowing just how massive the gap his current level was compared to his maximum.
"Go ahead Ginyu." Vegeta replied evenly, he was more than happy to let Ginyu underestimate his true power, besides he was curious just how powerful he actually was. Ginyu immediately reached up and his scouter began to calculate.
Within a minute it had finished, "70,000, not bad Vegeta, unfortunately for you, with such a low maximum, you are simply no match for me." He taunted before rushing Vegeta again his arm cocked back ready to strike.
Vegeta took a second to inwardly admire himself, 'Ha! This pitiful level is 70,000, I must be stronger than I thought. How long I have dreamed of being just this strong, and now it feels utterly insignificant compared to the ocean of power I have at my command.'
Vegeta's overconfidence cause him to get slightly flashier than he normally employed, waiting until the last possible second to move his head away from the strike, before he could counter attack like he had planned, Ginyu dropped the ground, his leg lashing out and sweeping Vegeta's legs from under him.
Vegeta cursed his carelessness as he quickly rebounded off of his back, and flipped into the air, over a small blast Ginyu had fired at him. He couldn't dodge Ginyu's follow up attack though; just as he was about to land, Ginyu phased behind Vegeta and embedded his elbow in the middle of Vegeta's back launching him back at the ground.
The Saiyan Prince twisted mid-air and unleashed a flurry of blasts back up at the Planet Trade officer, distracting him long enough to get a second to think. Luckily his surprise attack worked perfectly as Ginyu was forced to swat the irritating attacks aside instead of continuing his assault.
It the half second he had bought himself, Vegeta came up with a counter attack strategy of his own and immediately phased from sight.
Nappa was getting anxious he knew Vegeta wasn't using the full extent of his power, but it was clearly evident that Ginyu was playing around as well, and so far Vegeta was ending up on the losing side of their mutual game.
'Come on Vegeta, you're a Saiyan Super Elite, the strongest Saiyan in generations, don't let him get the better of you!' He inwardly shouted, knowing better to distract Vegeta in a fight like this one.
The smoke from Vegeta's smaller blasts had just cleared when he appeared behind Ginyu, quickly he grasped onto both of his horns and jerked his head back above his back, before head-butting Ginyu directly in the face, once, then twice, then a third time, completely taking the fight out of the Planet Trade officer for the moment.
The Saiyan Prince rocketed into the air, still pulling Ginyu by the horns, before launching them both back at the ground, intending to do to the Captain what he had done the most novice member of his squad not even an hour ago.
Just as the duo began to descend though Ginyu had other ideas, quickly he began to gather his energy, just as they were about to hit Ginyu and Vegeta let go not intending to take his prey all the way to the ground. Ginyu twisted, and wrapped the Saiyan Prince in a tight bear hug before encasing himself in an energy shield. A startled look crossed the Saiyan Prince's face just as they hit.
"Vegeta!" Nappa called suddenly worried that the Saiyan Prince might be in over his head.
The crater that was formed was massive, an entire second of the island broke away from the force of the blow, and two of the legs of Frieza's ship collapsed from the shockwaves. But when the smoke cleared both warriors emerged relatively unharmed, standing at opposite ends of the crater, glaring at the other, with looks that would melt any lesser warrior's resolve.
"Vegeta good I was worri-" Nappa started to say before being harshly cut off, "Can it Nappa before I kill you myself." The Saiyan Prince snapped, although he only came away from the collision with a few minor cuts and bruises, the fact that the warrior in front of his was able to turn his own attack against him injured his pride much more so than his body. He could tell that Nappa's next few words would've only rubbed salt in the fresh wound.
"Uh, sure thing Vegeta." Nappa mumbled quietly to himself, knowing better than to push his luck with the Saiyan Prince.
"You shouldn't be so hard on your nanny, Vegeta, he has every right to worry for you." Ginyu taunted, causing both of the Saiyans to snarl in rage.
"That's it Ginyu I'm going to-" Nappa started to shout, charging up a massive attack, but again he was cut off by Vegeta, "Nappa if you interrupt my fight I will vaporize you, do you understand me."
Fear of Vegeta's explosive temper quickly overrode the Saiyan General's own rage, as he allowed his attack to dissipate immediately. "Yes Vegeta." His tone indicating he was much more reluctant to sit idly by and watch now than he was a moment before.
"Now then Ginyu." Vegeta snarled, barely able to contain his temper, "I am the Prince of all Saiyans I fight my own battles, and I will not stand for your mockery any longer. I'm going to show you the true might of the Saiyan race!" He shouted, as he began to yell, his aura flashing violently around him.
Ginyu was taken aback, he had assumed that Vegeta was using the full extent of his power already, immediately his hand rushed to his slightly cracked scouter to get a reading. '85,000...87,000...90,000…' Ginyu began to get slightly nervous as the number continued to climb. "At this rate he'll surpass me!" Ginyu couldn't help but say the last part of his thought out loud, it was just too shocking for someone who had been above the masses his entire life, that a being as low as Vegeta could surpass him.
Ginyu's outburst only fueled the Saiyan Prince's ego, "Yes Ginyu feast your eyes on my true might!" Vegeta shouted as he finished his power up with a tremendous outflow of aura. His face no longer contorted in a snarl, but instead a confident smirk.
"Damn it, why did Goku have to heal these guys, I can't take Vegeta even with a times five." Tien quietly exclaimed, too worried about the Saiyan's massive increase in strength to focus on their current lack of the dragon radar.
"We can't just give up, maybe we should help the horned guy." Chi Chi suggested still not liking the idea of Vegeta surviving in any capacity.
Suddenly what was happening on the battlefield drew their attentions again.
Ginyu eye's refocused on the final number, and let out an audible sigh. This act caught Vegeta completely off guard, 'Was that a sigh of resignation, or…no it couldn't have been relief.' A small voice of doubt said into his mind.
His fears were confirmed a second later when Ginyu began to lightly chuckle, before breaking into a full blown laugh.
Vegeta's rage finally overwhelmed the calmness he was trying to project, "What the hell are you laughing at, I'm going to kill you! Don't you understand that?!" The Saiyan Prince shouted taking a step forward.
Ginyu finally stopped laughing, wiping a tear from his eye, "I'm sorry Vegeta." He started his posture becoming serious once more, "You see you actually had me worried there for a minute. It's going to sounds ridiculous but I almost thought you, a dirty monkey, had managed to surpass me." His seriousness cracking again as he sneered at Vegeta. "But unfortunately for you a power level of 108,000 isn't nearly enough to defeat me." He finally finished his eye's gleaming at the shocked look that crossed Vegeta's face.
The only thing that kept a sense of panic from springing forth in Vegeta's mind was a combination of denial and his own stubbornness, 'No he's bluffing, he can't be that powerful, he would've shown it by now instead of standing there….smiling like the bastard he is...' "If you're so powerful show me then!" Vegeta shouted defiantly.
"Just remembered you asked for this Vegeta." Ginyu said with a calm smile, as his aura began to surround him.
"Vegeta do you really think it's wise-" Nappa had tried his luck too many times this time and Vegeta immediately launched a medium sized blast right to his chest sending the Saiyan General flying into a nearby cliff face. "Nappa I warned you. I am the Prince of all Saiyans I refused to be questioned by you." Vegeta shouted rage completely overpowering his better judgment, as he charged up a second attack.
"Hey Princess!" Ginyu mockingly yelled bringing the Saiyan Prince's attention back to him. Just as his eye's focused on the still powering-up purple alien, fear shot across his face, as his mouth fell slack. 'His power...his power is completely overwhelming.' Vegeta was stunned just at the difference in their respective strengths.
Nappa forced his way out of the rocky rubble that had fallen on top of him, only to have a similar reaction as Vegeta, "Oh shit..." Was all he could manage to say as Ginyu finished his power up.
Ginyu visibly relaxed now that he wasn't powering up anymore, a sneer on his face. "Now then Vegeta, enough beating around the bush, let's just get right…" Ginyu suddenly phased out from all four of the observers collective sights, "To the punch line." He finished his fist imbedding itself in Vegeta's cheek. Vegeta rocketed through the air, unable to keep his head from spinning, let alone stop his unwanted flight.
Ginyu wasn't done with his opening salvo though, and immediately phased above Vegeta, arms already cocked back for a double handed axe handle, which connected right on top of Vegeta's chest, breaking a rib as it hit. Vegeta let out a yell of agony just as his body made itself at home in a large, deep crater.
Nappa wanted to call out to see if Vegeta was ok, but considering the type of mood the Prince was in he decided against it, one surprise attack by his ruler was enough for the day.
Vegeta didn't stay down long though, as he burst forth from the ground, with murder in his eyes. Without any words spoken he went straight on the offensive, it was enough that Ginyu was caught slightly off guard by Vegeta's aggressive strategy.
The Saiyan Prince's fist came crashing across his face. he wasn't done though and while Ginyu was in his own forced flight, Vegeta paid him back for the earlier axe-handle by landing a flying doubled legged kick to the purple alien's side, not only causing his body to contort painfully, but also launching Ginyu in another direction, right towards a small hill on a neighboring island.
Vegeta was determined to make sure that island was the last thing the Captain ever saw as he immediately began to channel as much strength as he could muster, "Let's see how you like this one! GALICK GUN!" A massive blast of purple energy shot forth, colliding with Ginyu right as he hit the rock cliff in the distance.
The resulting explosion outshone the sun; the force of the shock wave forcing the rest of the legs on Frieza's ship to collapse, and the entire ship to go sliding across the remnant of the island.
Nappa had just gotten fully back on his feet when the shock wave swept through, he was barely able to keep on his feet; his hands raised protecting his face, slowly the force caused him to slide backwards a few feet before finally dissipating.
Tien and Chi Chi's vantage point was bombarded by the wave, the rock face completely crumbing in front of them, as they themselves were swept back, off of the island and into the shallow sea that covered most of the planet.
They stayed under for a moment, waiting for the rest of the explosion to pass before reemerging. "That was intense." Tien managed as soon as he had finished filling his lungs.
"Yeah, I think we missed our chance to get the Dragon Balls." Chi Chi added slightly shaken at the true extent of Vegeta's power.
"I think you might be-... Do you feel that?" Tien started to agree before noticing a large power level near where the attack had detonated.
Chi Chi's eye's just widened as she nodded her head. Quickly the duo left the water and as stealthily as they could worked their way back to a new viewing point.
Vegeta let out a growl of irritation, he could feel it Ginyu had survived his attack, and no doubt was planning to go on the offensive, an offensive that he would have a complete edge in both speed and strength, more so now that Vegeta wasted a large portion of his power on a useless attack. 'Damn it! I need a plan and fast if I am going to survive.'
Finally the smoke dissipated, floating in the middle was a furious Ginyu, "You damned Monkey that actually hurt." He yelled, his amour completely gone, scorch marks dotting his body.
The Saiyan Prince took a small amount of pleasure in his adversary's admission, even while desperately trying to come up with a strategy against the seemingly overwhelming odds.
Ginyu noticed the slight smirk the appeared on Vegeta's face and finally snapped, phasing out he went on the attack.
Vegeta was shocked at just how fast Ginyu was moving, he could barely follow him, his body feeling sluggish as he tried to respond as Ginyu appeared at his side, easily catching his fruitless strike.
Ginyu's response was as quick as it was painful unleashing a quick powerful strike right on Vegeta's ribs breaking one and causing him to scream in pain, before head butting the Saiyan Prince. The force from his last strike was enough to completely rattle Vegeta's head, his mind instantly going cloudy as Ginyu began to pepper his body with bruising blows.
Finally after a fruitless few seconds of trying to block Vegeta simply phased away from Ginyu trying to get some space, but Ginyu was expecting this, phasing right behind Vegeta before the Prince could react, immediately he grasped him by the hair and rocketed towards a nearby hill intending to literally rub Vegeta's face in it.
In the fraction of a second it took the duo to cross the short distance, Vegeta charged up a small but potent blast, reached up and unleashed it right in Ginyu's face, unfortunately for him before Ginyu's hands rushed to his face, he was thrown into the hill head first.
The Saiyan Prince didn't stay down long, he knew he needed to make his previous strike count and blasted out of the rocks, his nose now broken, his body aimed right at the seemingly still recovering Ginyu, at the last second the Saiyan Prince phased out, intending to catch his opponent off-guard.
Ginyu though had already cleared his temporarily blinded eyes, and lashed out with a vicious kick catching Vegeta right in the side and sending him flying again. The Saiyan quickly stopped his momentum but before he could react Ginyu phased above him and unleashed a powerful blast right down on top of him; causing Vegeta to slam into the water, before detonating with incredible force causing a tidal wave to sink two nearby islands, and nearly wash Frieza's ship out to sea.
'Let's see you come back from that one Vegeta.' Ginyu thought with a smirk.
Vegeta wasn't done though, his skin was battered, bruised, and now scorched but his determination drove him on, as he flew through the water appearing right below the low floating Ginyu.
Before he even emerged he let loose a volley of blasts before rocketing up parallel to them.
Ginyu deflected the blasts but in doing so allowed Vegeta to get in behind him, the Saiyan Prince kicked with all his might, but to his dismay his leg only passed through an after-image. Before he could even retract his leg he heard, "I'm sorry was this what you were going to try?" As Ginyu's leg collided right on top of his kidney, again causing him to rocket towards the planet, and skim across the ground when he finally reached it, cutting a wide ditch.
'Damn it, do I try to get involved… No Vegeta would kill me even if I somehow survived fighting Ginyu, besides if Vegeta can't phase this guy I probably can't either.' Nappa thought to himself as he watched Vegeta continue to be pummeled into the ground.
After Vegeta was slammed into the surface again, and went sliding across the surface, Nappa knew he had to act. He started to power up but then he realized it, he couldn't even follow Ginyu's movements, he was completely outmatched. So instead of rushing to attack he decided he should try to use his mind as his weapon instead of his fists. Although he was seen as a brute, his mind, not his higher than average strength, was the reason King Vegeta made him the Saiyan General and personal guardian to his son.
It only took a few seconds of thinking before suddenly he remembered; the Namekian from Earth was charging up an attack, while pretending to be down for the count, he could only assume it was meant to kill him since he had saved it for the end of the fight.
Thinking back further he believed it was the attack that nearly killed Raditz a year before that fight even though the Namekian's power level was barely third of Raditz'.
Reverse engineering a technique was difficult, reverse engineering a technique you have never seen from start to finish is a nearly impossible task, but at the moment it was the best idea he could come up with as Vegeta took another bone crushing blow to the face. Everything he had heard over the scouter system seemed to indicate it was a piercing beam of some sort instead of an explosive blast, making the process slightly easier.
A grim smile came to Nappa's face, 'I hope this attack is as good as you thought it was Slug-man.' he thought as he raised two fingers to his forehead and began to channel as much strength as he could into the tips his fingers as he had noticed Piccolo doing during their fight.
All the while he tried to imagine what form he was supposed to form the beam into, the majority of the beam attacks he had seen had been variants of Frieza's own death beam.
His grim smile lightened slightly, although he didn't like the idea of using the Tyrant's attack normally; the idea of killing his lap dog with it was one he couldn't pass up. Now he just had to figure out why the Namekian used two fingers to charge the attack instead of one.
'Just hang on Vegeta, I have a plan.' He thought to the still struggling to rise Prince.
'Damn it Nappa I told you to not distract me!' Vegeta shouted in his head, though he knew at this point he was likely dead whether he was distracted or not. He was beaten to the point of being barely able to stand, he had dozens of smaller injuries, but the fact that he had more broken bones than intact ones was the real difference in how he felt at the moment.
Ginyu landed, his arms crossed in contempt at this point, "Well this has been a very satisfying revenge so far Vegeta, but I think it is about time I get to finishing you." Ginyu said with a chuckle, causing Vegeta to snarl.
"No I won't lose." He shouted and unleashed a furious barrage of blasts giving it everything he had left. Finally after nearly a minute of constant barrages, in which the ground beneath Ginyu's feet had been eroded away several feet, Vegeta was finally forced to stop. His panting, the only thing heard through the battlefield for a moment, but as the smoke cleared Ginyu appeared unharmed. His arms still crossed as before.
Before Vegeta's eyes could even widen in surprise, Ginyu phased in front of him and wrapped one hand around Vegeta's throat, and pulling him up to face level. "That's quite enough Vegeta, you're not even fun to toy with any more." Ginyu sneered as he continued to increase the pressure on Vegeta's airway.
Finally after a few seconds of pointless struggling Ginyu relented slightly, "Any last words Prince of the Monkeys." Ginyu taunted.
Vegeta's response was immediate and it was dramatic, "Fuck you Ginyu!" He shouted as loud and definitely as his hoarse voice could before spitting a mixture of saliva and blood into the Planet Trade officer's face. 'Dammit Nappa! Do something.' He frantically thought to his body guard.
'Hold on a little longer Vegeta I think I can kill him I just need time.' The giant thought back.
Ginyu would've gotten angry but he knew it was the end for Vegeta so he simply wiped it from his face, "Defiant to the end I see Vegeta, well too bad, I suppose this is goodbye." Before Vegeta could do anything else he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen, and then the definition of agony erupted throughout his body.
Ginyu had stuck his arm clean through Vegeta, the Prince gasped, unable to breath, agony spasming through his entire being, as blood began to pour from his mouth. Ginyu seeing that Vegeta was done for tossed him aside like a rag doll, intending to blast him at a distance. As he limply flew through the air Vegeta could only whisper, "Damn it Nappa…"
Ginyu watched Vegeta hit the ground limply and lay still, as he quickly charged up a blast more than big enough to finish the Saiyan Prince once and for all. Just as he was about to fire it though a voice rang out, "Eat this you freak!"
"Tien any idea what the big Saiyan is doing?" Chi Chi whispered trying to figure out what he could be planning while his smaller stronger companion was being utterly dominated.
Tien was lost in his thoughts, he knew he had seen that stance before, but he couldn't figure out where. Suddenly he realized why it seemed familiar, "That's Piccolo's technique, I don't know how but the Saiyan knows Piccolo's attack." He announced, shocked considering that Piccolo had never actually gotten a chance to use the attack against the Saiyans in person. What was more shocking though was the destructive capability the attack had, he had seen it first hand during his time training under the child of the Demon King.
"What does it do?" She asked, "It doesn't seem very useful if he has to charge up this long."
"It is a piercing attack, its big weakness is its charge time but its results are incredible. The damage it can inflict in unreal, the user can basically use attacks many times stronger than they would normally be able to." Tien explained.
"In that case with any luck he's so tired we can just take him out too when he's done." Chi Chi responded, liking the idea of any potential threat to her hopefully soon to be arriving son being taken out.
Something caught Tien's eye as a cloud moved from in front of one of the dual stars in the system. A faint glint in a crater where Ginyu had been standing before. The orange color gave no doubt as to what it was, "The Dragon Balls." He said his voice barely above a whisper.
Suddenly the humans had even more reason to hope for a triple KO, down on the battlefield.
Nappa's hand felt like it was on fire, the amount of energy flowing into his fingers felt absolutely absurd to him but he pressed on. Small flashes of lightning shot between his fingers and his head, some flashing as far as the ground though. 'Ginyu isn't going to know what hits him.' Nappa grinned getting impatient with himself, though he knew he had to make the attack perfect, 'I'm only going to get one shot at this.'
Suddenly his mind was invaded as Vegeta began to yell into his mind, 'Dammit Nappa do something.'
He was almost there he had enough power, but he needed to form it up otherwise it would just come out as a wave and by what he knew of the attack it seemed to be a piercing beam of some sort. 'Hold on a little longer Vegeta I think I can kill him I just need time.' The giant thought back.
Suddenly he saw what he had been dreading the entire time, Ginyu deciding to finish Vegeta, he was too late, in an instant Vegeta's limp body was thrown to the ground.
Shock overwhelmed Nappa for a second, he felt like he was losing his own son again. Rage finally burnt through his temporary sorrow, if he couldn't save Vegeta he could at least avenge him.
Forcing all of the energy he had painstakingly gathered into the tips of his fingers, he was able to force the attack into two parallel beams, before an idea cut through his rage. He remembered how Raditz was apparently able to dodge the Namekian's attack even though it was more powerful enough to kill him. The General immediately charged up another beam in his other hand and tossed it before firing the second attack, "Eat this you freak!"
His larger yellow beam was just barely big enough to hide the twin beams of death rocketing behind it.
Ginyu turned to his new challengers weak attack with a sneer, not even deeming it an attack worthy to dodge, "Is this all you got?" when it reached him he simply swatted the orange glowing ball out of the way. His sneer gave way to a look of surprise just as the twin beams reached him.
His eyes bulged from his head, incredible agony ripped through him as two fist sized holes burned through him.
The Purple alien staggered back, blue blood dripping from his mouth before dropping down onto a knee. 'What...What...just happened?' Shock and pain made it difficult for him to form coherent thoughts. 'Did...a monkey…really just do that...to me?' Each breath was getting harder to come by as one of the beams had pierced a lung.
Darkness was beginning to fill in the corners of Vegeta's vision, he could feel his life draining away. That didn't stop him from forcing himself to sit up and watch as his failure of a bodyguard avenge him.
Anger burned within him, he had survived so much throughout his life; so many times he had hung on by a thread, half dead. And now to be dying for real, when he was so close to finally being strong enough to kill Frieza was just an insult to his very being. What made matters worse though, was the fact that he couldn't help but feel it was a disgrace that he couldn't be the one to drag his killer to hell with him. Finally he decided that was exactly what he was going to do, as he began to gather what little strength he had left.
Nappa took a step forward his face locked in a look of rage, "That was for Vegeta you bastard." Nappa snarled, momentarily forgetting Vegeta wasn't quite dead yet. "I am going to make this the slowest most painful death I can, just for you." The giant growled as he continued to his march towards his prey.
Ginyu didn't respond but he knew what he had to do to salvage the situation, 'I need a new body, his will do nicely.' He thought as he prepared himself for his ultimate technique. Just as Nappa made it within a few feet Ginyu suddenly sprang to his feet, arms spread wide, his telekinetic abilities causing Nappa to freeze just for a second as he shouted, "Chan-AH!" Before he could finish shouting a large, but fairly weak blast crashed into his back, but given his current condition weak was all it took to sweep him off of his feet and carrying the mortally injured Captain out onto the horizon.
As soon as Vegeta's attack had crashed into Ginyu, the spell that had temporarily paralyzed Nappa's body was broken and the confused Saiyan General was able to move once more. "Hey good shot Vegeta." Nappa cheered automatically going into his usual suck-up mode when addressing the Saiyan Prince. But this time Vegeta couldn't get annoyed by hearing it, his eyes had already rolled back into his head, a second later he collapsed to the ground, unmoving.
"VEGETA!" Nappa shouted before rushing to the Saiyan Prince, a quick examination only confirmed the General's fears, there was only a weak heartbeat left. Nappa wasted no time scooping him and blasting off towards Frieza's damaged and displaced ship, hoping the medical bay hadn't been damaged too badly in the recent fighting.
Tien and Chi Chi were stunned by the final turn of events in the fight, it seemed the mysterious Captain Ginyu had some sort of attack planned, but Vegeta, who they had both assumed already dead, somehow had enough strength left to deliver a finishing blow to the horned alien.
But as the larger Saiyan scooped Vegeta up and hurried inside of Frieza's ship, they both couldn't help but see the opportunity they were just given. In a flash they were in the crater that had the side Dragon Ball sticking out of the ground. It took just a slight telekinetic blast on the ground to get the 7 golden orbs from the dusty soil.
"We did it." Chi Chi cheered.
Tien was more cautiously optimistic about the situation they found themselves in as he raised his finger in the quiet sign, "Chi Chi be quieter, we can't celebrate yet; the Saiyans could hear us." Tien said as he was nervously watching the ship.
"Oh sorry, let's get going then." Chi Chi responded as they took to the air, the 7 Dragon Balls trailing behind them.
Across the planet, Frieza finally landed, the only energies in the area were inside the simple building directly in front of him; both were pitifully weak.
Frieza dismounted from his chair and took a single step towards the entrance of the dwelling when suddenly his scouter picked up another power level. Not just a run of a mill one either, this one was exceedingly large, larger than the vast majority of the beings in the galaxy even. "90,000, now why is Ginyu coming here when I specifically told him to guard the Dragon Balls." Frieza asked himself, his eyes flashing in annoyance, as he turned expectantly, a slight twinge of fear tickling the back of his mind at the idea that the Dragon Balls might have been left unguarded.
The Tyrant didn't have to wait long before an unfamiliar figure appeared, and landed in short order, there was a confidence about this warrior, one he had seen thousands of times before; they always panicked when they learned just who they were confronting.
In the second that they stood there watching each other expectantly. The longer Frieza watched the being before him, a sense of deja vu seemed to sprout from seemingly nowhere. Before he could remember where he had seen the man before he spoke. "So you must be Frieza."
Hi everyone, I hope you enjoyed the fight, things are going to start getting crazier after this chapter, which I am sure a lot of you have already figured.
Anyway I was somehow able to get this chapter done much faster than I expected, even with my homework work load already starting to go through the roof. So because of that I would still caution that I will not be able to guarantee updates any faster than once a month, if I do manage to get a chapter up early its just a nice bonus :)
Time for one of the favorite parts of each chapter, the reviews! At the suggestion of The real 007 I will be doing the reviews a little different than I have been, hopefully you guys will enjoy seeing the question asked as well as my response.
Reviews:
Super Mystic Gohan:
Review: wow goku and frieza round 1 begins so much earlier and raditz and gohan wont be making much off a differences jesus they are going to get killed maybe I hope yamcha really puts in training after the namak because he nearly died and chi-chi and tien will and they wont feel to left behind because they have the gravity machine and kaio-ken and thanks for noticing I was the 50th reviewer this is a great story im shocked you don't get more! also I did see a spelling error but that's, all everything else is great.
Response: Yes it does, Goku's power level is his usual 180,000 vs Frieza whose base is 540,000 so he's at a bit of a disadvantage to start. Raditz is at right around 3000 after getting a couple months of rest, Gohan is at about 200 without his rage, so yeah they are sort of majorly out classed by basically everyone right now lol. You'll just have to wait and see on the human's reactions to the coming events, there are some things I don't want to spoil so I'll leave it at that for now. I hope you continue to enjoy the coming chapters!

Review: Another great chapter!
There really isn't a moment when I feel bored while reading this amazing story.
Gohan and Raditz are finally coming! I've been wondering what exactly is going to happen...the suspense...
I honestly don't know why this story isn't getting more love, it's really one of the best dbz ff since...a long time :p
Month or longer the wait is worth it
Response: Thanks, I am glad that you are enjoying the story so much. It's always good to hear your work is appreciated. I would love to get more reviews, but hey the reviews I do get have been great so I'm just enjoying the ride probably about as much as you all are :).
The real 007:
Review: Ya man I'd be happy to proof read and wouldn't mind working with you with some ideas for your story as well if you're open to the idea. Also, I think you should post the review as well as your reply to it. It makes it easier for us readers who might be curious to understand what it is you're talking about. It's nice to see it on other fics so I just wanted to suggest it.
Response: I really liked you suggestion about the reviews, so I decided to implement it, so thanks on that. Do you have an actual account on fanfiction, if you do i'd be more than happy to listen to your idea's on the story. there is the caveat though that the basic outline of 'major' events in the story is kind of set as of right now. Basically the way I go in developing the story is before I wrote anything I sort of day dreamed about basically what would happen if Raditz stole gohan, kind of made a rough outline that although it has change a little here and there as I continue to sort of day dream about the story for the most part it has stayed fairly consistent. Afterwards in each 'arch' I list out a series of 'minor' events that i've thought of along the way to that arc and then tie them all together when I actually write the story. If you have an account it would be easier to set up a proofread if you are still interested in that. Anyway, thanks for the reviews, and I hope you are still enjoying the story!
