Chapter 19: Fall of a Titan

Riding on a pillar of scalding, churning energy, Frieza was awash in an ocean of fiery agony. He had only been on the beam for a moment when finally, as the blast burst out of the Namekian atmosphere, he was able to slide from the blast and enter a state of free fall back towards the ground.

Frieza's ravaged body began to heat up as the friction between himself and the atmosphere increased. Finally, he was forced to put up a Ki shield as he sparked across the sky like a shooting star.

While he fell he was lost in his thoughts. 'How? How is it possible a monkey, a filthy simian beast, is powerful enough toy with me? Does he not understand who I am? Does he not understand I am the most powerful being in the universe?' His pride distorting reality. 'I will finish him this day. I will make his death more painful than anything he could have ever imagined!' His aura igniting with the last thought as he broke free of his shield and came to a stop, still miles up in sky.

"I never imagined a monkey would push me so far. This is the definition of absurdity." He mumbled, embarrassment flushing through his system as he began to power up again with a dark aura surrounding him.

Nail had seen Frieza's attack dropping towards the Saiyan and had assumed all hope to be lost but the Earthling Saiyan had surprised him again. His power surging to levels beyond anything he had ever seen before, completely overwhelming the demon that had plagued his planet for the last few weeks, and expelling his evil from the planet.

Hope sprung in his heart, 'Is it finally over?' He asked himself as he watched the massive beam blast up and through the atmosphere carrying the scourge with it.

Slowly, almost tentatively he rose from his position on the spire, and began to make his way towards the Saiyan to offer his congratulations and gratitude but a voice in his head stopped him, 'Nail stop.' Guru ordered, 'The battle is not won yet. I fear the worst is yet to come.' The wise elder warned, instantly dampening the planetary guardian's mood.

"Are you sure elder?" He asked, almost not willing to believe it.

'Yes, Frieza's power is more horrible than I ever anticipated, for now please stay back. It will take everything the Saiyan has to have a hope of defeating him.' He pleaded.

"Alright father, I will." He responded before resuming his previous perch, preparing himself for the combat to resume. That was when he felt it. High in the sky Frieza's power was not only back but growing by the second. Silently he prayed Dende could complete his mission in time.

Goku felt the rising power in the distance and couldn't suppress his shock, "No way, was he still holding back!" He exclaimed, suddenly realizing that his position in the fight was beginning to get more perilous.

'If his power keeps rising I might have to start really pushing myself.' He internally thought, worried for the first time the fight could slip from his control. 'I'll just have to suck it up.' He finally concluded just as Frieza's power leveled out, nearly half again what it was before.

Suddenly Goku couldn't sense Frieza anymore, immediately Goku began to raise his power, but before he could reach a level matching what he had just felt from Frieza, a massive fist collided with his cheek causing him to fly across the surface of the island.

As he attempted to get himself back under control, Frieza appeared behind him slamming him into the ground before unleashing a devastating volley of small but potent blasts into the nearly formed crater. Each one erupting with more power than any attack to tear into Namekian soil since the disaster of the past. Each of the spheres merged together, forming a massive purple sphere, which detonated a moment later. The explosion blasted upwards like a super volcano erupting in all of its fury.

"Not so tough now, are you monkey?" Frieza taunted what he believed to be nothing more than Goku's charred or atomized remains. It was all the more shocking when the rubble below him began to shake again.

A moment later Goku burst forth, his red aura outshining the sun as he forced himself up to a Kaioken times ten. Frieza had no time to react before Goku embedded his fist into the strangely shaped frost demon causing him to spray a mixture of saliva and blood from the bone crushing blow. As he stumbled back before falling to one knee, pain racking his system.

The hero from Earth took the opportunity to again scold the frost demon for his dirty tactics while his eyes were still bulging and body still contracting in agony. "You know, you fight pretty dirty. I'm done playing nice with you. Leave the planet now or else!"

Frieza finally began to recover, pain still spasming throughout his body. "How! Dare! Yo-" the rage filled rant Frieza was about to go on was cut off by Goku embedding his fist into Frieza's nose, causing the tyrant to yell out in pain and grip his bleeding face.

"Enough! No more speeches Frieza. I've given you several chances already to stop your madness. Leave now or I will finish you! This is your last chance!" Goku shouted his aura still shining brightly.

Frieza was silent, but on the inside he was steaming 'That...That filthy monkey is going to pay. He is going to fucking pay!' He answered Goku a second later by jumping back and letting out a hoarse yell. His muscles began to bulge as a wind began to rush off of him, his entire body glowing red.

Goku realized what was happening too late. As clouds began to fill the sky above them, Frieza's yells reaching their pitch, rocks levitating in all directions as the island began to shake apart.

Just as Goku began to move towards the frost demon trying to interrupt what was surely another transformation, his entire body began to crack, before completely shattering, shards of sharp exoskeleton shot out in all directions, one of them catching Goku on the cheek drawing blood.

What followed next was beyond anything the Saiyan from Earth had ever imagined. A massive explosion caused him to begin to slide backwards; buffeted by the intense wind.

Then all was silent, the smoke slowly floating into the sky. Goku could only look on in shock. The power he felt from within the smoke was unlike anything he had ever felt, well beyond the limits of his Kaioken technique. In that moment, Goku felt the second biggest regret of his life, knowing he should've finished the Tyrant when he had the chance. 'I can't give up, there is still a chance!' He told himself, as he braced his body for the inevitable combat.

Guru knew time was nearly out and he had to intervene the only way he could, "Please Earthlings" He thought out to the three humans flying rapidly across the surface half a world away.

The eldest Namekian's voice rang out clearly in the heads of all three human warriors. "Guru?" Tien asked suddenly feeling foolish for not trying to contact the Namekian earlier about their Dragon Ball issue.

"Please reach Dende. He is trying to catch you now so you can use the Dragon Balls." He hurriedly explained. "My time is short, please hurry." With that he cut the connection not wanting to distract them any longer.

The trio didn't hesitate in the slightest. As soon as one of them detected Dende's faint energy they all took off as fast as they could. Their hope of getting their wish revitalized, if only for but a moment.

Goku was stunned silent. The power facing him well beyond his own current limitations. He waited as the smoke cleared, trying to wrap his mind around the power the Frost demon was putting out. He could only imagine how hideous the latest transformation had to be based off of the last two.

Finally, the smoke cleared and revealed yet another surprise for the Saiyan. Where a being of monstrous proportions once was, now stood a creature much more human looking both in size and features.

Much like after his first transformation, Frieza's demeanor had calmed considerably. A confident smirk now plastered on his face. "What's the matter, Monkey got your tongue?" He taunted nearly laughing at the concerned look on Goku's face, as he silently raised his power to just over 5% his maximum.

Goku would've responded with a confident comment about expecting Frieza latest form to be bigger but he couldn't find the words. He was still in shock at Frieza's power which had easily doubled again.

Frieza's smirk fell into a mocking frown, "I know the real me is a beautiful sight to behold but, please, you're making me blush." He said making a scooting motion with his hand before bursting into manic laughter.

The Protector of Earth finally snapped out of his trance, 'I know I can beat him. I just have to push myself harder.' He inwardly decided, pushing away the small voice of doubt that had been lingering in the back of his mind since not getting his son back during the fight against the Saiyans on Earth.

He fell into the same stance he had before, starting at Kaioken times 8 to be safe but prepared to up his Kaioken at a moment's notice. "I don't care how strong you've gotten. I know I can still win." He responded confidently.

All sense of humor vanished from Frieza's demeanor, a sense of paranoia working its way through him as he remembered his previous mistakes. There was no more talking, Frieza simply vanished.

Goku had no notice, he didn't even have time to raise his Kaioken further when Frieza appeared just barely off to his right the same instant he had vanished. Before Goku could even get him out of his peripheral vision and actually see what he was doing, more force than the Saiyan had ever felt in his life slammed into his cheek. His jaw snapping almost instantly. The muscles in his neck straining not to follow his mouth's example as his body began to follow his face.

Before he had even traveled a foot, Goku had blacked out from the g forces wreaking havoc on his body. The resulting sonic boom shook the landscape causing entire islands to crumble as the shock wave launched outwards. Goku's limp body leading the way.

His body was well trained for combat though and in just a second his eyes were begrudgingly opening. Unfortunately for him the first thing he saw was a rock wall.

He cut right through three rocky spires like a bullet through a piece of paper and then bisected an island clean in half before skidding across a wide channel for several miles. Finally coming to a stop and sinking into the greenish waves.

Goku was trying to hold onto his breath as he swam upwards but the pain in his jaw made that nearly impossible. Finally he cracked the surface, coughing up water as he did which only brought him more agony.

'That isn't good. I need to be more careful.' He thought to himself as he rose from the water, his head still ringing from the blow. 'I'll just have to take it up a notch.' he concluded before flaring his aura all the way up to a times 12 and rushed back in prepared to go on the offensive.

Frieza watched the hero charge in in slow motion, though not as slow as he appeared to be before. 'Ah yes this is more of the power he displayed before.' He thought, his mind slightly ease at the thought of being made to transform by a monkey of all things, 'At least he appears to be at his full power now.' A sadistic smirk cutting across his face as Goku approached.

Goku launched a flurry of attacks trying to find a hole in Frieza's defenses but he couldn't even see the Tyrant moving. Finally, he upped his power to the maximum he had ever tested, a Kaioken times 15, as he put everything he had into one punch, going for the haymaker. Just as his fist was about to connect through Frieza ducked, balancing back on his tail, his face beaming with amusement. "Too slow" Before extended both legs at once and delivering a bone jarring double legged kick straight upwards into Goku's chest.

He felt the air rush from his lungs as he accelerated upwards, his eyes registering a second too late the Frieza had vanished from view beneath him. He brought himself to a stop and heard a voice behind him, "Looking for me?" Goku whipped around to try and defend himself from the inevitable attack but no one was there.

His back bent in painfully an instant later as Frieza re-appeared, shoulder lowered, elbow extended, crashing painfully into Goku's back, right on top of his left kidney.

The Saiyan let out a pained yell as he slashed through the sky. Before he could even hope to regain control of himself, Frieza was behind him again, lashing out with his tail and slamming him higher into the air, again and again the game of tennis played out, Just as Goku was slowing down Frieza would appear and launch him forward again.

In the fraction of a second between blows, inspiration struck the Saiyan. As he twisted around just as Frieza appeared and unleashed a powerful blast right into the Tyrant's face before blasting higher into the sky to try and get some breathing room.

His reprieve didn't last long though as Frieza was in front of him again within seconds, arms crossed, his face barely even scratched from the attack, as he matched him foot for foot on his rise.

"Not bad. I didn't think monkey's like you could be so resourceful." He said with scorn over the rushing winds

Goku couldn't talk so he let his fists talk for him as he stop his ascent and went on the attack once more, unleashing a flurry of alternating jabs and kicks trying to just land a decent attack. Frieza's smirk never wavered though as he easily dodged Goku's attacks.

Suddenly one of Goku's attacks hit, or so he thought as his hand passed through an after image. Before he could even look around for Frieza he heard, "Nuh-uh-uh, bad Monkey." Before his skull felt like it was caving in, Frieza had unleashed a double handed ax handle from above. Causing Goku to drop like a meteor before embedding himself in the surface of the planet.

Goku lay at the bottom of the crater he had formed for a minute before emerging, barely able to crawl out of the hole, his entire body battered, bruised, and cut in hundreds of places. His head was ringing unlike it had ever rung before. Even his blue undershirt was now nothing more than a tattered rag. 'Wow, this isn't good; how can anyone be this powerful.' He thought to himself as he finished pulling himself out of the hole and stood up, slightly woozy from the Frost Demon's last attack.

Frieza was standing a short distance away, arms crossed in contempt, "Come now, don't you see how pointless your struggle is. I could end your pain so easily. One little blast through the heart and all the pain of your failures are gone." He was sure he'd be able to break the Saiyan now, at the word failure the Saiyan definitely reacted slightly.

The words stung, they brought up the memory of him failing to stop his son from being taken, him failing to get his son back and save his friends during the fight against the Saiyans. 'No I won't fail again.' He thought, his mind racing through his long list of successes, 'I can win!'

He unleashed his maximum Kaioken again, all the way to Kaioken times 15 and charged in again, determined to take the fight back to the Galactic Tyrant.

Frieza shook his head, 'Monkeys, always so predictable.'

At the last second Goku upped his Kaioken one times further and vanished from view, or at least he thought he did, as he reappeared behind Frieza, his leg lashing out trying to take the Ice Demon's legs out from under him.

Frieza's response was simply to jump over the strike, then lashing out, his leg right on top of Goku's left leg, shattering both of his Tibia and Fibula in a single blow.

Goku screamed in agony, the pain from his leg blinding him to the pain in his jaw for a moment but his yell was cut short as Goku was backhanded by Frieza yet again. The pain in his face returning to the fore front as he went rolling across the ground, laying still, a slight whimpering sound coming from him for a moment before he tried to force himself back up to try and continue the fight. He was forced to stay down on one knee, he couldn't put any weight on his left leg at all.

"My, you seem to be in quite a lot of pain." Before Frieza could continue with his latest taunt Goku suddenly fired of a series of small blasts before trying to get the drop on Frieza again, maxing his Kaioken out as far as his tired body could take it.

As Frieza nonchalantly blew at his attacks, the energy just in his breath enough to cause them to detonate, Goku took a position in the sky and began to charge up his signature attack. 'Kaaa-meee...Haaa-meee...' Holding onto the final verse of his chant as long as he dare, before launching the attack, 'Haaaaaaa!'

A massive blue beam streaked towards the Tyrant who as acting as if he had just noticed Goku up in the sky.

Frieza watched the blast rocket towards him and was unimpressed. As a show of force he raised his own strength by a few percentage points. As he stopped the attack with just one finger, before beginning to fly it back towards Goku using just the same finger.

Goku couldn't believe it, 'Is...Is he just toying with me?' Shock riddled his system as his blast continued to be forced back.

Finally he could hold the Kaioken no longer. The pressure building beyond his breaking point as the energy rushing into his attack shrank to but a drizzle of what it once was.

Frieza noticed this and simply kicked the whole attack skyward, now nothing between him and the alternating panting and cringing Saiyan who had given him so much trouble.

"Ah, all tired out? I must say you gave me a better fight than I would've given you credit for. I've actually never had to use either of my final two forms against anyone but family." Again he noticed a slight reaction to the word family, and finally saw his opening to crush the Saiyans soul as badly as he would his body.

Goku's mind was racing, trying desperately to come up with a strategy to defeat the tyrant that's when it struck him. 'The spirit bomb!' Immediately he raised his hands to the sky and called upon all of the life on Namek to lend him its energy.

"My, my, my I didn't peg you as the desperate type." Frieza said tilting his head slightly at Goku's sudden motion trying to figure out if the Saiyan was about to dance like Ginyu or drop down in front of him in worship.

"Regardless, it will not save you." Before Goku could even begin gathering a fraction of the energy he would need to vanquish his seemingly unstoppable foe, Frieza's tail was wrapped around his neck once more as the Frost Demon lifted up into the air over the shallow sea.

Goku struggled desperately to get air. His hands clawing at the Tyrant's tail but to no avail, the grip was too tight and he was already too weak.

Frieza lifted Goku right to face level, he wanted to look into the Saiyan's eyes as he crushed his spirit at the same time as his body; he wanted to see the life leave his eyes. "You know, I haven't forgotten about your son. He was an impressive specimen, for a monkey that is. I am going to enjoy spending quality time with him like I did when Vegeta was a lad. I figure he could use someone to look up to after today." Frieza could see the panic in Goku's eyes, it was delicious.

"I only wish I had been harsher on Vegeta himself. Maybe then my dear Monkey Prince wouldn't have rebelled against me, his benevolent master. But alas, hindsight is always twenty-twenty. I assure you though I will not make the same mistakes with your son." The mixture in of emotions in Goku's eyes was too much, Frieza cracked a genuine smile.

"Yes when I am done with your son, he will be a killer that Vegeta could only dream of being. Worlds will know his name and tremble, the blood of billions, no hundreds of billions will be on his hands." He knew the pain in Goku's eyes at the images he was giving his mind was driving him wild. It was giving him a high he had scarcely imagined was possible, it was almost addictive.

"And then when he is a the perfect soldier, I will betray the whelp and kill him so painfully slow he will curse you and whatever welch his mother was until his final breath. Praying he had never been born."

Finally Goku had had enough, 'I have to stop him!' He desperately pulled all the strength he had, and forced his Kaioken as far as he could, 'Not enough...need...more...power!'

Frieza saw the red aura wrap his body and the strength of Goku's attempts were definitely increasing, his eyes becoming whiter and blanker by the second. Inside there was a dam of energy inside of him, he tried desperately to break it, he needed the power it offered, he just needed to- blood sprayed from Goku's mouth even though his neck was bound tightly, his aura vanishing instantly.

'Di...Did I...push it to...far?' Even thinking was getting difficult. He had no idea what had happened. At least until his adrenaline numbed nerves roared back to life. The pain he felt was a familiar one. His eye looked down slightly and saw Frieza's hand held up palm flat towards where Goku's stomach once was.

"I am sorry our game is at the end, but you seem to have been trying to force my hand." Frieza was actually slightly sad he couldn't torture the Saiyan more, but he had other business to take care of.

"Oh well, I suppose I do still have four other monkeys to play with. This is farewell, enjoy oblivion. I'll tell your son you say hi." With that Frieza tossed Goku bleeding body into the sea below, a manic laughter sounding out the entire way down.

By the time Goku hit the water darkness had filled most of his vision, 'Chi Chi...Gohan...I'm sorry.' Was the Saiyans last thought before the darkness enveloped him.

Dende saw three dots ahead and his heart leaped, 'Are they coming back?' Sure enough within seconds all three of the Earthlings, and the seven Dragon Balls, were in front of the young Namekian, panicked looks on each of their faces.

"Dende hurry we need to summon the Dragon. Goku is trying to fight Frieza but I'm not sure how much longer he can hold out." Chi Chi grabbed the young child as she felt Goku's power drop in the distance.

"Ok, what wish do you want to make." The child responded quickly as he prepared himself to summon the dragon.

"We need all of our friends wished back so we can get the Earth's Dragon Balls back. With them we can wish Frieza away." Tien responded as Goku's power dipped again.

"How many are there?" Dende asked his eyes wide, "You only have three wishes."

"Wait three wishes!" All three exclaimed in unison ignoring the other important difference in the Dragon Balls that the child just revealed.

"This is great! We can wish our friends back and Frieza away without even needing the Earth's Dragon Balls!" Yamcha shouted for joy.

"Wait the Earth's Dragon Balls don't have 3 wishes? And how many people do you want to wish back anyway?" He asked again confused by the human's collective reactions.

"No they only have one." Yamcha said still beaming, ignoring the second question.

"Why does it matter how many we are wishing back Dende? The Dragon Balls can wish everyone back with one wish can't they?" Chi Chi asked, remembering all of the human warriors wished back during King Piccolo's attempted takeover of Earth, as she bent down to talk to Dende more on his level.

"Maybe the Earth's Dragon Balls can. But I was told only one person can be wished back per wish by Porunga." He explained instantly dampening the mood.

A voice cut in, 'Tien, Yamcha can you hear me?' The voice was unmistakable as Piccolo, son of the demon king.

Everyone looked around confused, but he continued, "I am talking through King Kai, wish me back, and then you'll have access to the Earth's Dragon Balls. But if you wish me back, use the second wish to send me there, you guys could use the back up." He said confidently, eliciting a protest from King Kai, 'I am your Master I forbid it. If you go to Namek and try to fight Frieza you'll just end up dead too!'

'Silence old man' Piccolo shouted into everyone's minds as he gripped King Kai's shoulder tighter, 'They need the Dragon Balls, and I am curious about my home world, besides as I said they need the backup.' He repeated leaving no room for discussion.

"Alright Piccolo." Tien responded before nodding to Dende, King Kai muttering in the background, he and Yamcha owed their lives to Piccolo's training, so he felt he could repay him some, "Besides it'll still leave us a wish to get rid of Frieza."

Dende then turned and in his native tongue summoned the Namekian Eternal Dragon.

Nail watched in horror the warrior from Earth's body drop limply to the water below, a grim reality setting in, as he remembered what Guru had told him just a minute before. 'Goku is in trouble... unfortunately there is nothing you can do for him my son... Dende has reached the other Earthlings though, if they can get the dragon summoned there still may be hope. I know... I ask a lot of you... Nail... more than... I have the right to…. but I must now ask that you do the impossible...' When he had heard the first part of his father's request he had assumed he was being asked to fight the tyrant but that idea was quickly dispelled.

"Buy them time, not with your body but with your mind. I need you to lead Frieza from here, but keep him from the Earthlings as well. If they cannot get their wish... or worse Frieza gets to the dragon while he is active... all hope will be lost... not just for us... but for the universe as well.'

Nail didn't know how, but his mission was clear. He was to be a decoy and in doing so he would likely pay the ultimate price. Death did not scare the hero of the Namekian people though, his response had been immediate, "I shall father, I do not know how but I shall."

Nappa had been frantic for several minutes searching not only the ship but the surrounding battle field for any sign of the Dragon Balls

Suddenly the sky became dark and a glow appeared in the distance. In the middle of the glow was what appeared to be a giant green creature. "The dragon!" He shouted mentally muttering every curse he had ever heard as he blasted off in that direction at top speed hoping he wasn't too late. 'Immortality here I come.'

Frieza watched as the air bubbles and blood drift to the surface of the water before going on to his next move.

Seemingly instantly the tyrant appeared in front of Nail, "Now that that is taken care of, tell me how to attain the wish or I will kill the two beings in the building, do you understand me?" Frieza's voice went from normal to icy cold almost instantly, showing he was done with any sort of stalling.

"...Fine I-" The Sky suddenly darkened, "They did it." He suddenly said without thinking.

Frieza's eyes widened he didn't like the sound of that, "DID WHAT?" He shouted.

"You're too late demon, th-" Frieza fired a blast right through Nail's torso like he had just done to Goku. He didn't know how but he knew someone had summoned the dragon, someone was stealing his wish.

He blasted across the landscape as fast as he could. "I WILL NOT BE DENIED MY DESTINY!"

In space, passing the orbit of a massive Jovian planet, two tiny white dots continued their journey cruising towards a slightly larger green dot in the distance. Both occupants fast asleep, one naturally the other medically

The slumber Raditz was now enjoying was a long time coming. A sense of paranoia kept sounding in the back of his mind, warning him away from what would likely be his death trap.

His hard fought rest came to an abrupt end as the proximity alarm suddenly blared to life.

His eyes shot open arms already reaching towards the controls the off button. Years of practice told him one of two things was happening, the ship had driven into an asteroid belt, or it was a false alarm born from the poor maintenance the pods had been forced to endure over the decades.

By the time his eyes had focus though he realized he was in much greater danger than a mere asteroid belt. In the distance a small light flashed to life before rapidly increasing, it didn't take a genius to figure out what it was, his hands flying over the controls praying the hunk of junk would respond in time. As the pods slowly lurched towards the zenith, Raditz couldn't help but think back to the ambush on Gidara, the natives had been weak but they had advanced warning of the planet trade's arrival and had attempted to blow up the attack pods before they entered the atmosphere by pooling their power.

It was only thanks to Vegeta's lightning quick reflexes that they had survived the cowardly trick. Now all these years later, Raditz could only hope his much inferior ability could get him and his nephew out of similar trouble.

In a blink of an eye the attack began to swell in the view port, the pod seemingly moving in slow motion. Raditz let out a yell of terror, it was the single largest attack he had ever seen, a purple ball partially embedded in a massive blue sphere; the power within each had to be astronomical.

Then it was gone, passing just under his pod. He let out a sigh of relief, as he sat there imagining the contempt his Vegeta, Nappa, or even his own father would've held him in if they had known he had let out a squeal of terror.

Suddenly he realized he hadn't verified Gohan's ship had followed his in the maneuver, similar system breakdowns had occurred before. Just as he looked down at the computer interface the whole of space seemed to ignite. The inside if the ship began to feel warmer by the second as it continued to hurtle through space.

All of the instruments began to behave wildly as if they were on the verge of shorting out, only fueling his panic as he rapidly tried to get a handle on what was happening. After several more frantic minutes, in which the temperature inside the snug cabin began to get uncomfortable, he entered a string of commands causing the ship to rotate but still move in the same direction, until the view port was facing the direction he was coming from.

Immediately, he had to squint and raise a hand to block the light pouring into the cabin. What he saw behind the glare was unlike anything he had even heard of before. Where once was a gas giant now sat a newborn star, its entire surface boiling in red hot heat. Giant pillars of plasma shooting out into space, following the new stars old magnetic field lines, as the unnatural system tried to reach a state of equilibrium due to the sudden, massive influx of energy igniting a fusion reaction in the core. Dark patches gave it an eerie appearance, as molecules in the infant star were still being boiled away by the heat.

The heat billowing out, though as amazing as it was, was the very thing that was beginning to cook him inside of the ship; overwhelming the outdated cooling system.

Suddenly, a flare erupted in the direction of his ship, a wave of deadly radiation washing towards him, spreading out to several times the diameter of most inhabited planets.

His hands frantically flew over the controls, desperate to dodge certain death a second time in just the last few minutes

Again he proved successful, even though the wall of plasma was much larger than the previous attack had been. It was also much slower, allowing the maned Saiyan just enough time to escape.

He was suddenly awash with a sense of paranoia, realizing he couldn't take his eyes of the newborn star, but he needed a set of eyes watching the direction of the planet in case more attacks were launched.

"Brat! Get up! It's an emergency!" He shouted into the radio system as he deactivated the hibernation mood on Gohan's pod. He was met with static.

He quickly verified the boy's ship was still near him and began to worry the communication could be down from all the charged particles flying through space.

In his frustration he yelled "WAKE UP!" Still nothing, mumbling to himself he followed up, "if it was time to eat I'm sure the brat would already be up."

A small voice cracked over the intercom immediately, "Wait, it's time to eat?"

Raditz almost face palmed at the absurdity the situation was now taking, "Shut up, we are under attack! You have to watch in behind us and make sure no more flares from the sun, I need to watch the front." He ordered doing his best Vegeta impersonation.

Gohan sat still for a minute before the realization washed over him, his dreamless sleep was over, he was back to war. His small fist tightened in determination. His quest to fulfill the oath he had made himself upon learning of his mother's death at the start of his journey ringing in his head, 'I'm going to be the strongest fighter in the universe. I'm going to kill Frieza, Vegeta, and anyone else who gets in my way. No world will ever be purged again, no child will ever lose their parent's again, and above all else no one I care about will ever have a single finger laid on them again.' He didn't care what it took, he was going to fulfill that promise to himself, 'Never again.' He began repeating over and over again as he began to daydream and stare out the front of his pod, 'Never again.'

Dun-Dun-Dun! Hey everybody I hope you enjoyed the latest chapter, this arc is getting red hot already, but thing are only going to get crazier fro here.

Powerlevels

Nappa-95,000

Vegeta -108,000

Ginyu-120,000

Goku (base) -180,000

Goku (x3) - 540,000

Goku (x6) – 1,080,000

Goku (x10) – 1,800,000

Goku (x15) – 2,700,000

Frieza (1st form) – 530,000

Frieza (2nd Form)-1,060,000

Frieza (3rd Form)-1,590,000

Frieza (4th form just transformed)- 2,400,000

Frieza (4th form most of Goku fight, 5%)- 6,000,000

I know a lot of people believe Goku's base at the start of Namek saga is 90,000 so I will lay out my argument as to why I chose a power level of 180,000 for Goku. When he is fighting Ginyu his suppressed power level is read to be 90,000. When he actually powers up to his maximum Ginyu's scouter reads 180,000. Now some people believe this doubling of power is because of him using Kaioken, because there was no red aura around him during the power up I believe that all of that was his normal power. No point running around at his maximum when he doesn't need to. Besides in the Cell Saga as a Super Saiyan it shows him purposely suppressing his power so he doesn't destroy his own house, unfortunately as a Super Saiyan he has a hard time keeping it that low and breaks a lot of stuff.

Thanks to everyone who reviewed the previous chapter, I hope you all enjoyed this last chapter enough to review again :). I'll update again as soon as I can.

Man do u knw how well u turn the events
Your story is truly awesome and great
Juzt wondering since freeza is blasted and outta commission at the moment, is goku gonna rush and get his potential unlocked?
However really awesome work and i hope u update soon :)

Response:

Thanks, I try. J, Goku didn't rush to get his Potential unlocked because he didn't know he needed to, otherwise he would've gone to get his potential unlocked. As you can see he definitely regretted not getting his potential unlocked.

Still amazing as ever!
The fighting, the interactions-How exactly is Goku going to become a super Saiyan?
Also, with each chapter I keep wondering about Gohan and Raditz, you truly like to keep us in suspense don't you?
So many questions...

Response:

I'm glad you're enjoying the fighting, I always worry I am making it too rushed. About Goku…you'll just have to wait and see who the Super Saiyan will be, or if there will be one this fight. Gohan and Raditz's roles are probably going to be different than most people think it will be. And yes I do enjoy keeping everyone in suspense because I am evil mwhahahaha!

how strong is goku with in base ? also the fight beween him and frieza seems to just be warming up at the moment I cant wait to see more off a harder a battle for goku or being really is out classed

Response:

Thank you for asking about Goku's power level, I had forgotten to include a power level sheet last time. He was definitely out classed there at the end after dominating the first three rounds.

update faster please I love the story

Response:

Glad you like it, I put a lot of effort into writing it. The effort I put into it is also why I've had to slow down lately, school is killing me this semester, but I will definitely try my best to get the chapters up asap.
