Chapter 39: A Turn for the Worse
The star charts of Taris were some of the most complete and descriptive in the galaxy, just what Turles needed.
Raditz and Pyros had been assigned to help choose suitable targets, so they could learn the sort of worlds they were looking for.
Gohan was trying to help too, but he kept getting distracted by the amazing pictures that would appear with every world.
"Are you two stupid?" Turles asked standing behind their terminals. "First we need to make sure the planet has some life on it." Turles snarled at Raditz as he looked at the desert world his fellow Saiyan was looking at. "And you I said we want to be a world no one would notice disappearing, so you're busy looking at the capital of a Planet Trade quadrant." He chastised Pyros.
"I'm sorry sir, here let me keep looking." Raditz said with an apologetic bow. Pyros just mumbled under his breath and tabbed to the next world.
"I bet the kid could find a better world...actually this one isn't bad." Turles said as he walked behind Gohan. He noticed the expansive jungle, the primitive native villages it all seemed perfect. "Tarlia huh, well kid I think we found our next target." Turles said with a laugh as he motioned for the group to move out.
Turles couldn't wait to see how much power he would gain from taking a rich jungle world like the one Gohan had found him. "Kid I'm going to get you a special treat before we leave." Turles added with a chuckle at how quickly Gohan's discovery had improved his mood.
(On Earth)
"Transform now" Vegeta ordered King Cold a look of anticipation on his face.
King Cold tried to hide his smirk, he couldn't believe it was really this easy. "Alright Vegeta as you wish. I hope I can give your overwhelming Super Saiyan might a better test than my son did." King Cold responded evenly.
"Yes for your sake I hope you do." Vegeta responded as the transformation started.
King Cold focused his suppressed inner strength and carefully cracked the outer edges of his final outer shell.
Vegeta felt the power rise and rise as King Cold quickly became enshrouded in a cloud of dust excited by his aura.
Across the battlefield several more observers were just pulling themselves from the rubble, most noticeable Nappa who had covered the 4 humans right before the explosion.
The Oozaru let out a sigh of relief as he uncurled and pushed the last of the rubble off himself, he almost hadn't been strong enough to hold his energy shield over his massive body, even curled up as small as possible.
"Damn, Vegeta needs to stop playing around." Nappa boomed as he rubbed a lump on his giant scorched head, not even realizing Frieza was dead yet.
"That power!" Tien suddenly declared eyes wide as he stared at the ever expanding debris cloud.
"So this is your true power then?" Vegeta asked his tone barely hiding his excitement as the transformation ended. Cold's power seemingly rivaled his own.
Cold's large, Frieza-like vestige smiled back at Vegeta. "Is it more to your liking Vegeta?" He asked dodging Vegeta's question with one of his own.
Vegeta just smirked knowing the Frost Demon was keeping things close to his chest instead of bragging about his power like his son had. "Possibly, I think we'll have to see how well you use your power first." Vegeta's voice unable to hide his excitement now as he dropped into his stance ready to strike, his aura billowing around him once more.
King Cold smirked as well, as his real body's muscles twitched with anticipation.
Vegeta's impatience finally broke the standoff, launching forward the Saiyan Prince attempted to land an early haymaker to Cold's head. To which Cold laid back, balancing on his tail as the attack sliced above his face.
Vegeta was left slightly off balance and slow to react as Cold kicked out with a double footed kick to the Saiyan Prince's stomach.
Vegeta skidded across the ground a few feet, never losing his balance as his hands grasping Cold's still out stretching legs and prompting beginning to spin.
King Cold grunted in frustration as he spun helplessly around, faster and faster for several seconds, trying to keep his bearings to no avail.
Less than a second later Vegeta threw the dazed Frost Demon high into the air and phased out.
King Cold stopped his ascent a mere 20 feet up, but his head was still spinning from Vegeta's earlier ambush, his eyes refused to focus as he tried to scan the seemingly rocking ground for any sign of the Saiyan Prince.
"Looking for me?" Vegeta smugly asked from behind as he delivered an ax handle to the still turning Cold's head. Before unleashing a barrage of blasts after the reeling Frost Demon.
The Emperor of the galaxy hit the ground with tremendous force creating a massive crater at the bottom of the larger crater formed from his son's attempt to destroy the planet. He didn't stay at the bottom for more than an instant though as he phased out just before Vegeta's attacks could connect.
A massive pillar of energy shot from the bottom of the crater before turning into a mushroom cloud as Vegeta's attacks merged and detonated.
Vegeta didn't even have time to register his attacks had missed their intended target before Cold appeared in front of him, his fist already swinging.
Vegeta quickly caught the attack, and attempted an uppercut of his own, only for his own attack to be caught as well.
Both warriors flashed their auras as they attempted to gain the upper-hand in the struggle of raw strength, to no avail they seemed dead even.
The stalemate was finally broken by Cold who rammed his forehead into Vegeta's nose with a vicious head-butt.
Vegeta's eyes clamped shut as pain shot through his system, he could tell immediately his nose had been broken.
Before the Saiyan Prince could open his eyes the air was forced from his lungs by a brutal knee to the diaphragm, and the feeling of a python clamping down on his throat immediately afterwards.
Vegeta's eyes shot open as his hands desperately grabbed at the tail constricting his air way.
King Cold wasn't satisfied with just watching Vegeta suffocate though and began to hammer away at the rapidly weakening Saiyan Prince.
"Shit! Everyone we have to free Vegeta!" Piccolo shouted his eyes wide in fear as he felt their only hope for survival fading fast.
Nappa, still in Oozaru form had already powered up his aura and prepared to launch when a sense of imminent danger hit them all.
"Get down!" Piccolo shouted for the second time in less than 5 minutes as the sky was engulfed in fiery hell.
Rage at his own foolishness bubbled up in the Saiyan Prince, he had held back too much at the beginning and now he was in danger of losing. The very thought of losing the power he had strived for so long filled his oxygen deprived body with the strength it needed for one final try at escape.
Vegeta aura flashed outwards like a solar storm in all directions enveloping not only a surprised King Cold, but seemingly the whole sky with him.
The air cleared slowly filled not only with plasma but smoke from the scorched ground he had caused, but at the moment Vegeta could care less what he was breathing in, just that it had oxygen in it.
"My Vegeta are you ok? You seemed a little out of breath there." Cold chuckled from somewhere in the dust cloud.
"Co-" Vegeta started to say before stopping and clearing his sore throat. "Cold, I'm going to grind you pitiful bones into dust beneath my full power." Vegeta growled, his voice still hoarse as he flared his aura to his maximum clearing the smoke away.
The last of the smoke vanished Vegeta realized he was suddenly staring right at a blast to the face. 'Shit' was all he had time to think before the blast detonated rocketing the Saiyan warrior towards the ground.
Cold rushed forward eager to continue his offensive, but as he emerged from the debris cloud his attack had caused, Vegeta was gone.
The Frost Demon's eyes slanted as he noticed a blur coming in from his left. The ground shook like thunder as Vegeta's fist crashed into the Frost Demon's forearm. Vegeta had to hide his shock, apparently Frieza's Father had been holding back too. The Saiyan Prince didn't hesitate long to dwell on the insult and instead lashed out with a kick crashing into the Frost Demon's side. Before Vegeta could retract his leg though he took a fist to the face as the two titans of power continued to square off.
Piccolo pushed a large boulder off of himself a look of irritation on his face. The entire valley was shaking with the strikes of the two beings most likely to destroy his world before he even gets his chance to rule it. There was an eerie echo over the valley as well as the sound waves bounced through the massive crater in the center giving off a nearly constant rumbling that was only adding to the Namekian's irritation.
Piccolo felt useless, worse he couldn't shake the feeling that things were about to get much, much worse.
Vegeta's body was straining, every muscle in his body was on fire, but still he fought on, he had never felt more alive than he did at that moment. Using a power beyond his wildest dreams fighting the being that was, until today the most powerful being in at least the galaxy and quite possibly the universe.
Back and forth across the valley the battle raged, Vegeta took a blow to the cheek, in the next instant they were on the opposite end of the valley his knee embedding itself in King Cold's stomach his fists slamming down with a head rattling ax handle, but like his previous attempt Cold had landed on his hands and feet and preemptively dodged before Vegeta could even finish charging his attack.
The Saiyan Prince froze for a moment the golden sphere in his hand slowly fading out as he tried to catch his breath, his mind working, analyzing something odd about the fight, something he hadn't noticed until now. King Cold wasn't panting, not only that but whenever Vegeta landed a seemingly decisive blow on the Frost Demon he would recover almost instantly as if the attack didn't even phase him not giving him a chance to press his advantage.
(Across the galaxy)
Goku paused for a moment catching his breath, he had jumped hundreds of times in less than an hour, and if he was being honest with himself he was running out of strength.
"Goku! It's awful!" King Kai's voice suddenly sounded in his mind giving the Saiyan a renewed batch of strength, he didn't even want to ask what was happening on Earth, he just wanted to get there and stop it.
"Vegeta has become a Super Saiyan-" King Kai started only to be stopped by Goku.
"Wait really? That's great! He can stop Frieza and-" Goku begun before being stopped by his mentor.
"That's not it, he did stop Frieza but he made a grave mistake. He unleashed a worse monster on the Earth." King Kai practically yelled.
"No way! How'd he do that?" Goku's eyes were wide.
"Frieza's father, it appears the monster was able to transform while Vegeta was fighting Frieza. You must turn back Goku not even a Super Saiyan can hope to defeat him." King Kai declared.
Goku's fist tightened in determination, "Give the next jump." Goku ordered, he wouldn't let Chi Chi down again.
King Cold looked up at the Saiyan Prince expectantly waiting for the next round to begin.
'Nothing, not even a bead of sweat.' He thought to himself as he scanned Cold's bloodied and bruised body. Vegeta just continued to stare trying to figure out why Cold would let Vegeta do as much damage as he had if his theory was correct, it just didn't seem possible.
"So you finally figured it out I take it?" Cold asked smugly.
Vegeta's eyes narrowed a feeling of irritation bubbling to the surface. "So how long were you planning on holding back on me?" The Saiyan Prince growled.
"I had planned on playing a little while longer, I felt I owed you that much for allowing me to get out of that Namekians assault. Besides thanks to you I've been guaranteed to rule the galaxy at least another century. So I decided to give you a chance to test your new found power as a thank you, and out of curiosity." Cold chuckled as if Vegeta was not a real threat at all.
"And what makes you think you're going to survive today Cold?" Vegeta snarled, he didn't care what the difference in power was, he was a Super Saiyan and that alone guaranteed his victory, it was his destiny after all.
"Because Vegeta, you are not even the most powerful warrior I've fought, in fact you're not even in the top 5." He paused for a moment gauging the exact percentage of power he had been forced to use to fight even with the Saiyan Prince. "If I really had to put a number on it I would place you as the 10th best challenge I've had, and that might be generous since it has been nearly 50 years since I had any sort of real challenges. I have to admit I'm a little rusty." Cold's mocking smile nearly caused Vegeta to lose his cool. The idea that the smug bastard was dismissing his Super Saiyan might as nothing special was too much to bear.
"If you're so strong go ahead, show me some of your real strength then." Vegeta snarled calling the Frost Demon's bluff.
Cold just smiled, "if you insist Vegeta I shall grant you this last request, for killing my likely heir and favorite son and giving me a chance to force my last son's hand early. In less than a decade he too will die against me and I will get to begin the tradition again for a third time." Cold begun to laugh madly as a dark aura began to surround him.
Vegeta could care less about Cold's plans for the future, he simply wanted to hear Cold screaming in agony for his arrogance. His scowl slowly dropped an open mouth as shock overtook his system, his jaw going completely slack from the incredible power he felt rolling off of Cold.
"My you seemed impressed Vegeta." Cold said with a smirk. "Just remember you asked for this." In a flash Cold vanished from Vegeta's sight, there wasn't even a blur. Vegeta hadn't even had a chance to move before Cold appeared in front of him, his fist already embedded itself in Vegeta's stomach. The Prince's entire body bent inwards under the unrelenting force. For a moment everything seemed to pause as his entire body spasmed and then went limp, his golden hair turning black once more.
King Cold retracted his fist, Vegeta stood still, his eyes whited out. The Frost Demon chuckled to himself for a second before backhanding Vegeta's body into a nearby rock wall.
The Planet Trade soldiers, couldn't believe they had ever doubted their leader's power. Quickly they turned back to the human warriors they had been fighting and renewed their attack, an attack that had completely stopped after the first massive explosion, the unofficial truce over.
Several human warriors met their end in the opening salvo of the attack, the few stronger fighters were slow to react, overwhelmed by experiencing the true might of the Emperor of the Galaxy.
It was like something from an old war movie as Hercule staggered backwards, his ears ringing from being too close to one of the explosions. Several of the fighters standing near him when it detonated lay dead or dying nearby and there was nothing he could do for them, even if his entire body didn't feel numb from the power billowing off that monster, not even a mile away.
The afroed warrior shook his head side to side trying to shake off his feeling of helplessness, when he saw the same blue, horned, dinosaur like alien that had launched the previous attack veering right for him.
He shakily raised his guard knowing there was nothing he could do to stop the brute.
"Leave my daddy alone!" A small voice cried out from the crevice to their left causing Hercule's mind to go into overdrive. 'Videl? No impossible she's still training with that Mr. Popo on Kami's lookout.' He thought to himself before catching glimpse of his daughter's raven hair as she jumped into the air to launch an attack.
Hercule's heart sank as he screamed out "Videl run!" As she unleashed her built up energy in the form of a blue blast clearly from a Kamehameha wave.
The Planet Trade Soldier took the blast head on. The attack not even scratching the polish off of his armor. "Night, night kiddy." He said with a dark chuckle as he launched a small attack towards Videl.
Hercule's entire world slowed down as he powered his Kaioken past anything he had ever attempted before all the way to times 7, desperate to get between the attack and his daughter.
The valley filled with light as if from a bolt of lightning, not just from that attack but from a dozen others at that moment.
"Daddy no!" Videl cried as Hercule fell to the ground his entire front charred to a crisp. "Run...Videl..." Hercule said his voice hoarse as his hand slipped from his daughter's crying cheek as the life left his body.
"DADDY!" Videl screamed as she shook him trying to awaken her dead father, not even noticing as his killer closed in to finish the job.
Videl was suddenly knocked back, a massive explosion enveloping the blue monster that had stolen her father from her.
Bora rushed forward, his heart breaking for the small child a few hundred feet in front of him. He could only imagine his own son Upa going through similar pain when the monster Mercenary Tao ended his own life over a decade ago. He was going to make the Alien pay and then get the girl someplace safe
His eyes opened in shock as he saw a massive attack cut in and vaporize the Planet Trade elite just before he could reach him.
Bora looked around trying to see who had saved the girl, but it looked as if everyone else capable of such attack were already engaged. To make the mystery even larger none of them were even in the direction the attack had come from.
Bore shook his head, he didn't have time to decide where that attack was from, he needed to get the girl to safety and get back to the fight before more of his allies died.
Nappa, Piccolo and the strongest of the human warriors couldn't believe their eyes. "Did...did he just punch the Super Saiyan out of Vegeta?" Krillin asked completely stunned.
No one else could even think of a response, they were too overwhelmed not only by the sheer pressure coming off of the emperor of the galaxy, but also the example of strength he had just given them. A feeling of cold dread washed over all of them as King Cold turned his attention to the last standing 'threats'.
In an instant he had crossed the distance to the small group of ragtag fighters still emerging from the rubble. "Some of you proved impressive against my son if you go ahead and help us wipe out this world to be sold, I will let you form a new shock unit for me, well except the giant monkey. I'm afraid your fate is already sealed." King Cold extended his generous offer.
"If you think we'd destroy our own planet you've got another thing coming!" Chi Chi defiantly declared.
"Pity." Cold nonchalantly responded as he flicked a 'small' attack Chi Chi's way.
Goku was jumping faster than he had before it seemed like he was jumping across a dozen solar systems a minute, but it still wasn't fast enough, nothing was fast enough when he knew his wife and his home were in danger.
From King Kai's last update he was still a dozen world's away when he felt something massive in the distance, when he focused a little harder he felt two massive energies squaring off, and then one power vanished completely. Goku's eyes widened in shock it was Vegeta, Vegeta was just wiped out.
Immediately Goku went Super Saiyan he had to get there now, channeling all of his strength the Super Saiyan jumped dozens of light years in a single bound, then jumped again the instant he touched the Earth's atmosphere to Korin's tower.
The Super Saiyan warrior didn't even bother asking Korin if he could borrow a couple of senzu beans, faster than the cat-martial artist could ever hope to follow Goku was in his senzu storage grabbing 2 beans. He ate one bean before jumping, just one other bean hidden in his left hand.
The Saiyan warrior sensed the attack heading to end his wife's life the instant he arrived, and quickly did a second jump just in time to intercept the attack, deflecting it into the ground in front of him.
When the explosion cleared he was left staring into a seemingly familiar face.
The ground shook with the force of the explosion. Chi Chi's eyes were closed tight expecting that when she opened them she would be standing before the Red Ogre at the check in station once more.
"Whew, looks like I got here just in the knick of time." A voice, that made Chi Chi's heart leap with joy when she heard it, said.
"Goku?" Her eyes snapped open to see the golden energy covered orange Gi of her husband. "Goku!" She shouted intending to wrap her husband in a tight hug.
"Chi stay back." Goku warned his eyes never looking back to her, his voice utterly serious. Chi Chi looked to see King Cold's eyes locked onto her husband. "Oh and give this to Vegeta please." Goku asked as he tossed her a singular senzu bean.
"A senzu bean? How'd-" Piccolo started to ask when the fact that Goku just materialized out of thin air hit him too, there were too many questions that he didn't have time to have answered right now.
"I take it you're the Super Saiyan that defeated my son the first time?" Cold asked curious as to how this warrior had intercepted his blast too fast for even him to follow.
"If by your son you mean Frieza then yeah I beat him." Goku responded his voice slightly tense, the gap in power between himself and Frieza's father was enormous he wasn't sure if even with Vegeta's help he could win.
"Well then I think introductions are in order. I'm Cold, ruler of this galaxy." Cold said with a smirk.
"I'm Goku, and this is my home so I'm going to have to ask you to leave." Goku said trying to sound confident in himself.
"Oh I'll leave shortly after I eliminate you pests and get this world ready for sale." Cold responded with a dark chuckle.
Goku flashed his aura ready to begin the fight, there was not going to be any warm up this time; that much was obvious.
"You're really ready to hurry and die aren't you, hopefully you'll give me a little more fun that Vegeta did?" Cold said with another light chuckle, "Well then let's get start-" Cold began to add before his face turned to the left and his body rocketed away.
Vegeta floated there momentarily before landing on the ground an irritated scowl on his face. "Kakarot...stay out of this, defeating him is my destiny." Vegeta ordered knowing full well how outmatched he was.
"Vegeta our only hope-" Goku started to say before Cold had already appeared again his fist slamming into Vegeta's sternum and launching the Saiyan Prince back.
Goku launched forward not caring about Vegeta's pride at the moment, he knew he just needed to deal with the threat first and the Saiyan Prince later. His opening attack crashed in Cold's forearm.
"I hope that isn't the best you've got." Cold tauntingly said before lashing out with a kick to Goku's chin sending the Super Saiyan warrior flying into a mountain of rubble.
Piccolo watched on, a feeling of hopelessness overcoming the Namekian warrior. His fist tightened in frustration he knew there was something he could do but not only did he not especially want to do it but there was also no guarantee another complication wouldn't derail his plan.
When Goku was launched backwards just as easily as Vegeta had been Piccolo made his decision. 'Goku I have a plan if you can buy me some time.' Piccolo mentally said giving the Saiyan warrior an uncomfortable feeling of Deja vu.
'How much do you need' Goku asked uncomfortably remembering what happened last time Piccolo asked him to buy some time.
'Just enough time to get to the lookout and back. I need Kami's help with something.' Piccolo explained sounding irritated at the very thought of being near Kami, let alone what he had planned.
'Ok, we'll do our best here then.' Goku replied trusting his onetime rival's judgement.
With that Piccolo took to the air as quickly as he could knowing time was of the essence.
Happy 4th of July everyone! I'm happy I could get this chapter up before tonight, that way you can hopefully have some fireworks before the real fireworks start tonight (If you're in America that is.). I hope everyone enjoyed the chapter, I had been waiting to write this one for a while so I hope I did it justice.

Jhotenko- Vegeta you prideful arrogant fool. If you survive this, I hope you'll learn your lesson and not make the same mistake against Cell. That having been said, I'm disappointed in myself that I hadn't even considered Vegeta as the new super saiyan. I had forgotten that he nearly transformed on Namek. Looking back it seems obvious now.
I wonder if Piccolo will try to kill Cold with a Masenkansapo before he manages to transform. Of course if he does succeed, Vegeta will kill him.
Come on now this is Vegeta we're talking about, he did need a few lessons to learn in canon of course, (Frieza, Andriods, Cell, Buu). Yeah I was kinda surprised more people didn't catch on too, but I'm happy I can still keep everyone off guard at least. As for Piccolo he was given a choice between possible death and certain death, in this case you took possible death.
wheathermangohanssj4- Well that was good chapter.
Well done with the Custom attacks of King Chappa, Nam and Major Med, the two from the series characters felt like good extensions of their fighting style from cannon. Although I think the best job was with Major Med's attack, It honestly felt like the smartest move, on your part, making it mostly unique but inspired by actual weaponry so well done.
I can't wait for more for the other charters, I finally caved into my thought and started right my own DBZ story, and I have been finding that thinking up new moves, and using old moves in new ways to be the most fun so far.
I guess it's okay for Vegeta to get SSJ here...and while I'm still against representing King Cold as stronger then Frieza...because I really don't think he was... I do hope that Kold is stronger then Vegeta here...and they have to be saved by someone else still.
Although I'm not usually one to complain about grammar errors, I did notice a lot of lower case i's in this chapter.
Glad you enjoyed the chapter, and the custom attacks. Like Meditrain, Caspin's attack was inspired by a weapon, it was an alternation of the the full name of the AK-47, hence the assault rifle like burst for his attack.
Glad to hear that you've started your own story, let me know when you get it up and I will check it out. The fight scenes are definitely the most fun to write, but the character development is just as, if not more important.
I hope you enjoy the rest of this arc, its going to be a bit of a wild ride. Thanks again for the heads up on the grammar errors, I was a bit sleep deprived that morning so I forgot my final step of editing, it has been resolved now.
Slightly Too Heavy- No Trunks? An interesting turn of events.
Yup, I haven't seen any Trunks-less Mecha Frieza fights and it just seemed like it was a good fit for what I had imagined. Thanks for the review, I hope you enjoyed this latest chapter too.

Wonder where trunks is at the moment and if his future is canon and different from this universe
Also the famous vegeta cycle happened as it usually does, instead of finishing the threat lets make it stronger, maybe after cold bashes his head and he has to ultimately rely on goku and trunks to save the day he'll come to his senses
Also seems the earth's special forces has quite increased their numbers huh
Also the more you use the ssj the better u control it and get more power i suppose? So would goku and trunks gain more of a boost from ssj as they can transform willingly and have had some sort of control on their ssj forms than vegeta does(maybe this'll allow them to beat cold)

Glad you enjoyed the chapter, I've been making efforts to update faster this summer. I seem to have caught most people off-guard with Vegeta's transformation. Based on the changes so far in the story, 20 years in the future is a much different place.
I seem to have done a good job capturing Vegeta's personality this arc which I am glad. Vegeta being Vegeta is one of the best parts of Dragon ball Z in my mind at least.
The Earth's special forces are multiplying like Rabbits this last year. Lots of volunteers inspired by the super human feats they saw during the Saiyan fight.
Yeah what I have envisioned for SSj is the more you use it or train with it the bigger the boost you get. Going ssj also increases you ultimate potential for a Saiyan, allowing zenkais, which had been given less and less of a boost each time to have a second life.

Chapter 8 - OK, the androids at the end? Bliss. Seriously awesome. Frieza magically knowing about the wishes: Optimus Prime could fit through that plot hole. One minute he is ensuring the Saiyans don't repopulate, the next he magically knows there are Dragonvalls? You did not explain that at all. Still, the overall reworking of the plot is good, the fights and characterization well done. I mostly enjoyed the chapter.
Glad you enjoyed the twists in that arc. I reread chapter 8, looking specifically at the transition from Vegeta learning of the dragon balls and Frieza's freakout and i admit it isn't as clear as i was hoping. I also reread the reviews for that chapter and you seem to be the first person to have caught it, though after rereading it might not be as big if one as you initially thought.
When i initially wrote the chapter i had just, without really thinking, assumed that Frieza having someone monitoring the scouters of rebellious, or potentially rebellious soldiers would be obvious. Looking back that was probably a bad idea so i will probably add a paragraph or 2 explaining it better sometime this week. Thanks again for catching that and if you see any more unclear spots please let me know.
Chapter 9 - Cool fight scenes! Loving it.

Yup Classic Vegeta :). Both good guesses, though I do like to keep everyone guessing on the ultimate outcome of things, so that is all I can say for now.
Chi-Chi's FAN- Great chapter! Love how involved everyone is and not just cowering away.
Probably shouldn't have guessed Mirai Trunks, if my memory recalls, he originally wasn't going to get involved if the situation could've been handled by Goku or...Vegeta now...
Huh I have more questions about the future timeline then ever but I guess all will be answered in due time. Suspense is dreadful yet exciting.
Glad you enjoyed the fight, I figured to give everyone a bigger role I had to have them think more since there is such a gap in strength. I don't believe he needed to get involved to begin with, I think ssj Goku would've been able to deal with them both, the only risk with letting Goku deal with them is if he is suppose to let Cold Transform or something, then I could see there being casualties which wouldn't have been a good thing for preparing for the androids.

Chapter 5- I keep forgetting to leave a review since this story is really good. So far my favorite this is how you are bring back the old Dragonball fighters and even having chichi fight agian. It should be really interesting to see what the b group does when the Saiyans come. On that note, I really love this chapter. It was cool seeing Gohan interact with the saiyan, and I really like how you portray Nappa. Not quite a good guy, but not pure evil either. Really liking the story.
Glad you've been enjoying it so far, I thought that DB had a ton of good characters there were used and then completely forgotten. Gohan's interactions with the Saiyans and everyone else for that matter will be important in the story from now on. Also I hope the B group's roles lived up to your expectations. Nappa is also one of my favorite characters to work with, simply because I felt like he was one of the more interesting characters in Z that got the least amount of attention.
Chapter 13- I really like how the earthlings are actually training and not just relying one Goku and the others. A really like change that I can't wait to see how it will effect thing down line like during the Androds saga, if you get that far. It's nice that everyone is still going to meet up, as much as I like seeing Gohan interact with the other Saiyans I really hope he meets up soon with chichi or even Goku when he arrives.
The human's roles dropping into the toilet in the show was something I never liked, it was like once DB turned into Z they were completely irrelevant. It will definitely have a major effect during the android saga ;). You might have to wait awhile for the reunion though.
Chapter 28- Liking this Gohan Raditz arc, it will be good for both the saiyan, but that pyro guy doesn't seem like a good guy.
Glad you enjoyed that arc, gave me a chance to let 2 of the major characters of this story get some face time, something I haven't been able to do enough of yet. As for your second point, Pyro is not that great of a person at all lol. Thanks for all the reviews btw :)
fatefan- I really enjoyed this. with the exception of a few spelling and grammar errors it was really good. I also enjoy how you keep the humans relevant and I hope it stays that way. It would be nice if gohan got home soon though.
as for the last chapter I thought king cold was stronger than his son in the form he appeared in?
Thanks for the review. Sorry for the spelling errors, I messed up and didn't do my final editing step last chapter, I got it run through again so it should be some better. The Humans should be fairly relevant throughout most if not all of the story. Gohan's role in the story will be expanding soon, whether that will be on Earth or not I can't say at this time. The only way it made sense to me was if Frieza was at his resting energy i.e. 2% or whatever he was when he first transformed on Namek. If he was that strong the power levels make more sense to me anyway.
