Chapter 11: A Special Date

Helia's P.O.V

I'm in the garden planning my special date with Flora. I set up a table in the rose section near the fountain. I got my chefs to make a special vegetarian dish for her. I have a clipboard checking everything off. Fancy glass top table, check. Crystal vase with a daisy, a lily, a pink rose, and a daffodil on the table, check. Two Fancy wrought iron chairs, check. A red rose with a poem tied to it, check. All right everything is ready except for the painting I did that I'll give her. I back away from the table and head towards the palace. As I was about to open the door and go into the palace something caught my eye. I turn around and see a patch of unique flowers. There is two type of petals. The outer petals are yellow and shape like a star a and the inner petals are pink and shape like heart. I went to them and decide to pick them for Flora when she comes home from work. Turns out I underestimated my strength cuz I pick up the whole patch and when I mean the whole patch I mean the WHOLE patch, I picked up the ground with a as well. You know with the roots hang out and soil spilling everywhere and the flowers still in the grass. Well this is embarrassing. I thought. I put my clipboard underneath my arm and us place that hand that was holding it under the soil and roots so it will spill all over the palace floors.

"Helia?" A voice said. I turn around and see Flora standing there. I feel my eyes widened and quickly hide the flowers behind my back which dropped my clipboard. I quickly bend down and picked it up so she won't see whats on it.

"H-hey, Flora, h-how did you find me?" I asked nervously.

"Elijah told are you hiding flowers behind your back?" She asked looking confused.

"Um….well….you see…." I uttered out but I just sigh and show her the flowers.

"I picked these for you, but I underestimated my strength, and well, I wanted them to look presentable before I give them to you." I said.

"You pick those for me?" She asked shocked pointing to the flowers.

"Yes." I said dejectedly thinking she didn't like them and wanted them to look better and not with the roots and soil hanging out and my kinda squishing them.

"Oh, Helia they're beautiful." She said hugging me. I just stood there shock. She pull away and smile at me. "Can I have them?" She asked putting her hand out. I smiled and nodded, and hand her the flowers.

"Do you know what flowers these are?" She asked admiring them.

"No, I don't I just figured you might like them." I said shaking my head.

"Like them? I love them, and they are the Star-Crossed Lovers flowers. The star shape petals of course represent the star and the heart shape petals represent the lovers. When someone gives these flowers to their special someone it means that they are soul mates." She explained smiling.

"Really? I'm glad that I picked them for you then." I said smiling at her. She looked down and blush, smile got wider at that. Then I look at the flowers and sigh sadly. "Sorry about how they look." I said.

"Oh, that's okay I can fix it." She said smiling. She point her finger at the flowers and zap them. Next thing I know she was holding them without the grass, the roots, and soil. And that little patch is in the little crater I accidently made picking them.

"You're excellent nature fairy." I said amazed.

"Thank you." She said blushing again.

I look at the garedeners clock above the doorway to let them know when its time to go inside, and it said that its 5:10.

"Hey, Flora, can you meet me out here in this very spot at six?" I asked.

"Sure, what for?" She asked.

"Well I have something plan for us, tonight, and I need to check on few last minute details, and dress in something nice." I said.

"Oh, I guess I'll have to get dress too." She said. I look down at her outfit. She's wearing a pink polo shirt with Rarity written on it in green, skinny green jeans, and pink and green flip flops.

"You don't have to if you don't want to. You'll always look beautiful to me." I said smiling at her.

"I want to since tonight is special." She said blushing from the compliment.

"Okay as long as you're comfortable." I said opening the door to the palace for her and we head inside.

I'm standing outside in the garden, wearing black tuxedo and blue bowtie, waiting on Flora.

"Hey, Helia, I'm sorry I'm late." Flora said closing the door behind her.

"Its okay you're not that late, I think I was just a little bit early. You look beautiful by the way." I said taking notice of her outfit. She's wearing the dress I bought, the same flip flops as earlier, and a pink rose tuck in her hair .

"Thank you." she said blushing.

"Here this is for you." I said handing her the red rose with the poem tied to it. She blush more and take it out of my hand. She open the folded paper the poem is on and read it.

"Thank you so much, Helia, this so sweet." She said hugging me.

"Your welcome." I said hugging her back. I pulled away and offer her my arm. She smiled and took it.

I lead her through the gardens till we get to the table I set up in the rose section.

"Oh, Helia, this is wonderful." Flora said in amazement.

"I'm glad you like it." I said letting go of her arm and went to easel with my painting on it that is cover with a sheet. I whip off the sheet and present the painting. Its of me and her dancing half of me is a beast and the other half is me as human with my dragon self over shadowing me, Flora is in a pink ball gown smiling at me.

"So what do you think?" I asked hoping she'll like it.

"Oh, Helia, its beautiful." She said with tears in her eyes.

"Glad you think so." I said and pull out a chair for her. She smiled at me gratefully. I smiled back and sit in my own chair.

"Green tea, pesto speghetti, and breadsticks for your special date." Elijah said coming out of nowhere and handing us our plates of food and green tea.

"Thanks, Eli." Flora and I said in unison. He salute then leave.

"How was work?" I asked Flora and starting to dig into my food. I heard her sighed and I look up and see her looking sad.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Its just now that I'm a servant here people at Rarity are treating me differently. They treat me like something they got their shoe stuck in." She said.

"I'm so sorry, Flora. I wish there is something I can do." I said taking her hand.

"Its all right now that I'm here with you. And I rather not talk about it any more." She said smiling.

"Are you sure?" I asked squeezing her hand letting her know I'm there for her. She smiled, nodded, and squeeze back. We let go of each others hand and continue eating. I look up at the sky and notice its getting dark, so I light up the candle I have on the table.

"Hey, Flora?" I said.

"Hmm?" She asked looking at me.

"You know I'm going to into a dragon soon, right?" I asked.

"Yes." She replied.

"I don't want to scare you, so you can run if you want." I said.

"Helia, I'm not going to be scared, and I'm staying right here." She said.

"How about if I hurt you?" I asked.

"I know you won't hurt me, and even if you do I know its just an accident." She said taking my hand and squeeze my hand in assurance. I smiled and squeeze back.

….

Right now we are finished eating and lying in the grass looking at stars. Flora's lying her head on my chest and I had my arms wrap around her, I couldn't be happier. Then all of sudden I feel the transformation. I pushed Flora gently away and got up.

"Helia, what is it?" She asked me looking worried.

"My transformation is starting." I said backing up away from her so I won't hurt her.

After the transformation I looked at Flora. She seemed shocked but got over it. I basically look like Maleficient from Sleeping beauty execpt I'm raven blue. And yes I'm still wearing my tux, my clothes stretch with my forms.

I went over to Flora cautiously. "Don't worry, I'm not scared." She said coming towards me and put my hand on my snout and kiss me on it. "I love you." She said.

"I love you, too." I replied. Then I an idea came to me.

"Flora?" I asked.

"Yes?" She replied.

"Do you want to sleep out here, you know, with me? And I don't mean THAT since its impossible now, and I'm waiting for when I get married. But you know just sleep." I rushed out nervously.

Flora blushed, giggled and said, "Yes, Helia, lets sleep out here." She snapped and is now wearing a ankle-length pink nightgown with a floral design on it. She also have a green blanket with pink flower on it. She gave me a large blue blanket as well.

I curled up in the grass and she cuddle up against my snout. She kiss me on the cheek. "Goodnight, Helia. I love you." She said.

"Goodnight. I love you, too" I replied and we bot drift off to sleep.
