Chapter 15

Summer of 2009

He had lost hope and had forgotten what it was but when he saw her, he got it back in an instant and remembered what it was immediately.

He didn't know what it was about her; maybe it's the way her bright blue eyes sparkled like diamonds whenever she smiled or how pure she looked in her white lace dress. He believed she was an angel sent from above to save him.

"Our session is about to start. Please close the door and sit on the couch in front of me."

The psychiatrist told him. He stole one last look at the woman who restored his hope – his angel - before doing what he was told to do.

Dean, Seth, Roman, and Emilia made it to the city of the next venue safely. All of them were exhausted from the long drive and they immediately went to their hotel. Dean chose to stay with Roman since he didn't want to hurt Emilia again while Emilia decided to stay with Seth to get away from Dean. Seth and Roman knew that something was up with the two of them and they both had plans to figure out what it is because they can't ignore it and pretend like nothing's wrong, unlike the two.

Dean and Roman took the stairs while Emilia headed towards the elevator with her bags. Seth followed her as she entered the elevator. Seth pressed the number of the floor that their hotel room was in while Emilia stood beside him in silence, moving her shoulders upward to keep the straps of her bags from falling.

"What's going on between you and Dean?"

Seth asked Emilia, hoping he'd get an answer from her because Dean didn't give him one. He saw no emotion on her face when she turned her head to look at him. She blinked once.

"Why are you asking?"

Seth shrugged.

"I just want to know. You two are my friends."

Emilia slightly smirked and so did Seth. Emilia was glad to know that Seth considers her as a friend though they rarely interact with each other. Her smirk disappeared and then she nodded and sighed.

"There is something wrong with me and Dean."

"What? Tell me."

"I'd rather not talk about it."

Seth just nodded. Emilia didn't feel like telling Seth or anyone about her and Dean, so she kept her lips shut by pressing them together, forming a thin line. The rest of the elevator ride was silent, since Seth nor Emilia spoke.

"You wanna get drinks at the bar with me and Renee before we call it a night?"

Dean asked Roman before pulling out the handle of his luggage and dragging it with him while he walked down the hall. Roman was surprised, but he kept his face straight. He readjusted the strap of the backpack he was carrying.

"You and Renee are friends? Since when?"

Roman asked, his tone almost giving away his surprise. He felt relieved when Dean just shrugged, showing him that he didn't notice.

"Yeah. And for a while I guess, since she interviews us most of the time. It's her job."

Roman nodded once. They stopped walking when they found their hotel room. Roman took the keycard out of the pocket of his hoodie and slid it in the lock. When he stepped inside, Dean followed him. After placing his backpack on the bed he's chosen to sleep on for the night and the room's keycard on the nightstand, Roman sat beside it.

"Does Emilia know about her?"

Dean shook his head firmly and pushed down the handle of his luggage harshly before putting it beneath his bed. He looked at Roman with narrowed eyes.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Roman held his arms up, as if he was surrendering.

"It doesn't mean anything. I just wanted to know if your girlfriend knows about your lady friend."

"Emilia doesn't know about Renee. And she doesn't need to know anything. So, are you coming with me or what?"

Dean said to defend himself for whatever he thinks Roman was accusing him of. Roman brought his arms down and shook his head.

"No. I think I'm gonna sleep early."

Dean sighed and took the keycard from the nightstand. He shoved it inside his right front pocket.

"Fine. I'll be at the bar."

Dean headed towards the door and slammed it shut on his way out. Roman shook his head and thought about Emilia - how she's going to feel when she finds out about Dean and Renee. Maybe she won't care, but he knew that she will. She got jealous when Dean was celebrating with other ladies when he won the United States Championship and her reaction that night was usual for a girlfriend who loves her boyfriend.

"Does this hotel even have wifi?"

Emilia said when she heard Seth coming out of the bathroom. She was about to turn her head to look at him but when she saw that he was only in a light green towel from the corner of her right eye, she kept her eyes on her laptop's screen. She tapped furiously on the touchpad as she tried to connect to the hotel's wifi for the third time. Seth didn't answer her and returned to the bathroom to get dressed.

When he came out, he answered her question.

"It does. Why?"

Emilia looked at him and saw that he was now wearing clothes and tying his damp hair into a low ponytail. She sighed.

"I can't connect. There's probably a lot of people connected to it right now."

"Or maybe you just need to find the hot spot."

Seth suggested as he jumped on his bed. He brought his phone out while Emilia thought about what he said. She smirked and then closed her laptop.

"Yeah, you're right. Thanks, Seth."

Seth looked up from the screen of his phone and saw Emilia getting up from her bed, holding her laptop with both arms, hugging it.

"You're welcome. Where are you going, though?"

"To find the hot spot. And grab dinner. You wanna join me?"

Seth shook his head as Emilia took the keycard and her wallet.

"No, you go ahead. I need to rest. Take care."

Emilia turned around to face him before grabbing the doorknob.

"You too."

And with that, she got out of the room.

Emilia ended up getting a good signal at the restaurant and bar of the hotel. She chose to seat in a booth in the less lit part of the room, where she couldn't be bothered. After having cheese fries for dinner, she put in her earphones and decided to check her e-mail.

Her hands were shaking, making it hard for her to type. It took her minutes to log in instead of seconds like usual. Most of the messages that were in her inbox were already read and were either from the WWE, her brother Bas, and friends from high school and college, except for one - Daisy's. It must be the one she was talking about in her text to her. She placed the cursor on the title of the message and took a deep breath before clicking it.

When she opened it, the only thing she saw was four picture attachments. Since there were no previews, she downloaded it all. The download took only a few minutes and when she opened it, she regretted doing so and asked herself why she was even doing this.

The first page was the front part of a white folder. On the center, there was a card with the name and logo of the mental institution that Daisy used to work at. Below it was the patient's information. There was a picture of a young Dean on the left side and beside it was the name Jonathan Good. Aside from his name, she saw where he was from and why he's being treated – he's suffering from ROCD, or relationship obsessive-compulsive disorder and obsessive love disorder. It was also noted that he was criminally insane because he murdered his girlfriend at that time.

Emilia wanted to stop after seeing the first photo, but her curiosity was nagging her. She pressed the right arrow of her laptop's keyboard so she could look at the second photo. On it was a narrative and summarized report of Dean - Jonathan's crime and crime scene photos. She almost threw up the food she just ate but she managed to keep it down and in her stomach. The third and fourth photo was Daisy's handwritten observations about Jonathan - Dean.

After she was done reading all the photos, Emilia knew what she had to do.

Run. Run away from Dean as fast and as far as she can.

Author's note: This chapter should've been up months ago but I was busy. I know this is such a short chapter and you've waited for so long for it but I'm sorry, this is the best that I could do. Updates won't be done frequently, because I take this story seriously and I want everything to be perfect. But thank you for reading and for everything - favorites, follows, and reviews. I'm really excited for the next chapters and I think I'll post a new story soon, so stick around. - C x
