Chapter 59: A Tactical Retreat
18 stood tall, a powerful yellow blast charging in her hand, while at her feet Cooler looked on his lips curled in a snarl of pure defiance, one his body couldn't follow through on.
With the boost provided by using overdrive 18 was able to completely flip the tables on the Frost Demon. Now it looked like she would be among the first to claim victory against their assigned targets. With any luck she and 17 will be able to wrap things up within the next few minutes and they would be able to focus on more important things, like freeing themselves of Gero's control once and for all.
"Now die!" She shouted as she launched the attack.
Just as she was releasing it though her feet were again swept out from under her as Cooler's tail wrapped around one of her legs yet again.
The deadly beam shot high into the air out into space, as 18 hit the ground. She was in shock for a moment, had she really forgotten about the accursed appendage that had caused her so much trouble this entire fight? Just after slamming him to the ground with it no less.
Shakily Cooler rose to his feet. "I haven't even gotten my chance to rule yet...I refuse to die on a backwater like this!" Immediately he enveloped himself in a purple aura and launched forward finally taking the offensive again.
His leg slammed into 18's waiting hand as she back flipped to her feet in an instant.
Her straight armed counter attack was also met with a forearm guard. With her infinite energy engines working above 100% of their maximum output her blow was able to easily force his forearm out of the way. With a quick follow up she lashed out again with a kick thinking she had made it past Cooler's guard and could continue to hammer away at his limited defenses.
At the very last second though a something stopped her, it was nothing more than Cooler's mangled remains of his other arm. Somehow the Frost Demon had forced enough Ki into it to keep the shattered, bloody mass of skin, muscles and bone fragments together enough to deflect her blow.
18 couldn't but let her surprise show on her face, as Cooler took his opportunity again, slamming his knee into the off-balanced Android's chest.
18 let out a gasp of pain as all the unnecessary air was forced from her lungs.
Cooler wasn't done yet though as he slammed his head into hers, knocking the Android back several more steps.
18 tried to ignite force her infinite energy engine back into its overdrive state, and was able to just long enough to catch another punch aimed at her face, as she struggled to keep Cooler's fist from continuing on a path towards her though she felt a hitch inside her body. Immediately her power output dropped to its normal levels, then even lower as her engine tried to find a new stable rhythm inside of her having been overworked for too long. Before it could Cooler again slammed his knee into her chest, this time cracking several ribs.
18 let out a yell of pure agony as blood spilled from her mouth. With some of the few non-mechanical parts she had being damaged by the blow.
The fight had mostly gone out of her at this point, her entire body completely and total wracked in pain. Her engines still refusing to operate at even their normal capacity.
Cruelly Cooler lifted her up by her arm, instead of a look of triumph on his face though was one of rage. The pain and humiliation he had gone through to get to this point was beyond the pleasure he would receive in finishing off his opponent. The transaction was a net loss for him if the Earthlings failed to teach him the technique he wanted to learn so badly. But at a minimum he should be able to eliminate some future threats one way or another.
"A deal is a deal though" He mumbled quietly as he tossed the Android into the air and fired a death beam through her chest, leaving her to drop to the ground.
With one obstacle out of the way the Frost Demon quickly took stock of the battlefield around him. As a whole his side seemed to be on the losing end. The largest shocks coming from the fact Piccolo represented one of the two missing power levels.
His heart began to beat faster at the thought of an Android capable of finishing off his strongest rival, a warrior whose power had already come to exceed that of his father's.
'Perhaps it is time for a tactical retreat…' The Frost Demon decided as he continued to weigh the option of destroying the planet and cutting his loses on his way away from the battlefield. Even if the Androids survived the explosion they likely would not find their ways to any inhabited solar system for many years, giving him ample opportunity to further his own training, provided he could slip away without them following him.
Cooler had only made it a few hundred meters into the air when he noticed a blur coming up behind him.
Without hesitation he let loose a volley of small but deadly death beam attacks.
Too Coolers surprise his adversary made a point of moving in front of as many of the attacks as possible catching them in his hands, seemingly as a show of force.
Floating high above the battlefield Cooler came to a stop, his damaged arm back to hanging limply by his side as he stared face to face with Android 19 as he watched balled up collection of his attacks fading away before his eyes.
Cooler's face twitched with irritation. It didn't take a genius to figure out that the Android had figured out some way to absorb his attack. He had heard rumors of a species that could eliminate Ki in a similar way. His father had deemed them a threat decades ago and blown up the planet from space, to prevent them from ever rising to a level to be a threat.
"Fine I'll finish you the old fashioned way." Cooler declared before lunging forward.
19 vanished from his sight in an instant, only to appear behind the worn and weary Frost demon and deliver a powerful kick directly to the low point of his back.
Together the pair drove into the ground, Cooler's body being buried deep in the rubble, only to be pulled out by the throat by 19 a few seconds later.
19 could only grin with a mad glint to his eyes, "Yes...more power...much more power hehehe…" His entire, cracked face making a face somewhere between sadistic gloating and raw passion.
Cooler could only grasp onto the Android with his functional arm and fruitlessly try to pry the ironclad appendage from his throat.
Goku let out a small breath as the last of his Kamehameha wave faded out. Across the battlefield a large swath of land was simply gone, a large chasm taking its place.
"Nice dodge." Goku compliment with a confident smile.
From the air 17 descended back to the same plane Goku had and brushed off his torn and tattered clothes looking somewhat less amused than Goku. "You know for a minute I thought you were going straight for the kill there. If you had been you might've already won." 17 commented his eyes watch Goku closely for any sign of reactions.
"As much fun as this has been, I do need to wrap this up soon so I can help the others. Nothing personal but I can't let you and the other Androids try and wipe everyone out." Goku replied his voice turning much more serious.
"That's pretty judgmental of you, we haven't even done anything yet." 17 replied cooly
"You call wiping out this entire city nothing?" Goku asked his fists tightening as he prepared to return to combat at a moment's notice.
"Well ok you got me there, 19 has always been perfectly obedient Gero after all." 17 sneered at his own comrade. "So besides 19 we haven't done anything yet." 17 replied.
"Then why are you even fighting us? If you don't agree with Dr. Gero you should be fighting with us to stop this madness not with him." Goku added, suddenly feeling slightly more hopeful for the direction the negotiations were going.
"Sorry, no can do. I don't agree with Dr. Gero but me and 18 don't really have a choice in the matter at the moment. We just have to look out for each other, it's gotten us this far." 17 replied as his mind drifted to a darker place, before focusing back on the battle before him.
At that same a single death beam cut through the air close enough to cut a few of his hairs off.
"Wha-" 17's eyes focused further out, near the top of a cliff just in time to see 18 dropping to the ground below.
"18!" He shouted before activating his overdrive mode.
Goku didn't realize 17 was moving until the Android had already passed him.
Around the same time 17 caught his sister saving her from hitting the ground, Goku's mind finally caught up with the movements around him and his arms raised up to guard himself assuming 17's after image was on the offensive.
"Where- huh?" Goku asked as he looked around for where 17 was about to strike only to see him cradling 18 in his arms.
"18! Don't you dare die on me!" screamed, tears forming in his eyes as his sister lay unresponsive in his arms.
"She still has a pulese...I've got to hurry." 17 muttered to himself leaving the surprised Goku to stand and watch the scene unsure what to do, farther back he noticed Cooler being driven into the ground by the Android that was supposed to be fighting Trunks, the child's energy having completely vanished at some point during his struggle with 17.
'Fine I'll worry about that one later.' Goku finally decided as he rushed into action. With two fingers tapping his forehead, Goku instantly crossed the battlefield and smashed his fist into 19's face with everything he had.
19's head turned, his cheek being squashed inwards slightly, but otherwise was unmoved. The eerie Android's only response was "More energy detected."
Before Goku could even react 19's grip was on his arm, as both Cooler and Goku began to struggle against the rapidly growing might of Android 19.
Dr. Gero was watching the battle unfold below him, unable to stop cackling with pure glee, everything was going better than he had even anticipated. Even with the addition of the new mystery fighter he had assumed he would've suffered at least one more loss at this point. Losing 18 was a small price to pay after watching how easily 16 and 19 had taken care of their opponents. Soon it would be Goku vs at least 3 of his creations at once. Possibly 4 if 21 ever decided to stop playing around with the humans. He could practically taste his victory.
Suddenly 17 was floating next to him. 18 cradled in his arm.
"Doctor...please fix 18, you have to hurry. Get her back to the lab, there really isn't much time." 17 pleaded a look of complete desperation in his eyes.
It took Gero a full second to recover from 17's sudden appearance. "What? No you have to keep fighting Goku! What are you doing! We can't allow him to team up against 19!" Dr. Gero cried in panic, before noticing 19 had somehow managed to ensnare Goku as well.
"Damn it! I don't care about Goku! GET HER TO THE LAB NOW!" 17 commanded, Dr. Gero's shield flaring just to deal with the rush of energy coming off of 17 at the moment.
A small amount of sweat began to bead up on Dr. Gero's forehead as he noticed the deathly serious look 17 was giving him.
"Fine, leave her with me, I will have one of my repair drones arrive shortly and-" Dr. Gero started to say before the shield shattered around him, 17's hand was around Gero's throat in an instant.
"Not good enough. You're repairing her now!" 17 ordered.
Gero's entire body was locked in a spasm of pure agony, as he realized he had overstepped his authority over the two most rebellious of his Androids.
"The...coordinates...should...in...your...memory...take...her...too..Wheelo…" Dr. Gero managed as he struggled to keep his throat from collapsing from the pressure.
In an instant 17 was gone, likely hundreds of miles away by the time Gero realized the pressure was gone from his throat.
He was simply alone, without a shield, and just a small jetpack keeping him afloat over the battlefield. 'Well...now losses are up to par…' He thought to himself. As he noticed something new occurring on the other end of the battlefield from 19's feeding frenzy.
16 watched the rubble around him settle back into place, the only sounds occurring nearby was the crackling of burning planets, and the crumbling of the rocks.
His hell's flash had worked exactly as intended, the odds of Piccolo surviving the attack was under 5%, the odds of the fight continuing from this point was much lower than that.
Slowly and deliberately he attacked both of his arms back in place. He had officially completed his primary directive. Now once Goku was eliminated his role would be fulfilled. What he would do after this never crossed his mind, he had his purpose, and that was all that mattered to him.
16 activated his sensor determining that 19 likely was in position to finish his struggle soon by the two rapidly draining power levels near him. Slowly he floated into the air intending to provide backup at least as 19 finished the battle.
When he was about 8 feet off the ground, the dirt directly beneath him suddenly shattered.
"What!" 16 shouted his lips forming a near snarl as Piccolo's arm extended all the way from the dirt and latched onto his leg.
Before 16 could react he was rapidly pulled back down towards the dirt, his lower body being trapped partially in the Earth as Piccolo emerged a few dozen feet away, his arm slowly retracting back after setting a new personal best in length stretched.
The Namekian warrior's lower half was clearly fully functional again, the rest of him looked much less so. There wasn't a square inch that wasn't covered in purple blood, bruises, or general damage. His clothes reduced to a tattered purple rag barely covering anything.
That was when 16 noticed the two fingers crackling with energy near Piccolo's forehead. Forcing all of his power into his legs 16 lurched out of his stone jail just as Piccolo fired.
"Special Beam Cannon!" The words echoed across the battlefield and time seemed to slow down as the blast crawled along towards 16 who was desperately dodging to the right.
'HIT!' Piccolo shouted inside of his head thinking back to the last time he was this desperate to land his finishing move, had Raditz not been so careless he might've been dead permanently.
Piccolo watched the attack connect with something green, a moment later the sound of shredded metal filled the air. As the attack continued on off into the distance.
Piccolo let out a sigh of relief partially of relief and partially in frustration, then he began to pant, his Ki reserves started to run very low.
Before him 16 fell off to the right, his right leg from the hip down had been ripped off completely in the attack. Electrical sparks fired indiscriminately between exposed wiring and the scrapped support structure around them.
16 instinctively covered his damaged stump as if he was a living being, who had just suffered a serious injury. A pained, look on his face as he watched Piccolo for his next move.
Their stare off continued for several seconds before Piccolo noticed how fast Cooler and Goku's power levels were dropping.
"Just stay down dammit!" Piccolo shouted realizing her couldn't waste the time in trying to finish off the overpowered Android. Instead he launched himself into the air, hoping to have enough energy left to change the most serious part of the battle.
Dr. Gero watched Piccolo crossing the battlefield at a high speed, there were only seconds left before it turned into a 3 vs 1 again 19, the exact opposite showdown than he had been expecting a few seconds ago.
"21 do something!" Dr. Gero shouted into his communicator.
Lime was panting hard, both of her arms now hung limply at her sides. She had been forced to block yet another potentially lethal strike at the very last second. One more hit like that and the fight would be over, and she wasn't sure how many more miraculous dodges she had left in her.
Android 21 was slowly approaching her a menacing look on his face. His frustration level with this particular human reaching its maximum.
"Now die!" 21 shouted as he lurched forward nothing more than a pink blur.
Lime did a backflip somehow managing to avoid the first strike, before she can land though she noticed 21's leg lashing upwards on a collision course with her.
"Tri-beam!" A voice shouted in the distance.
Just before the kick could connect 21 was hit by a large energy blast and launched forward, his leg stopping its upward momentum just in the knick of time, cutting through Lime's hair instead of her skull.
A large explosion echoed farther away as he collided with a nearby rubble pile.
Lime landed again, sighing pure relief as Tien and Chi Chi landed next to her. Yamcha landing behind her.
"Good job Lime! Not sure how you managed it but you bought us enough time for Krillin to get Trunks to safety." Tien said dropping into his stance expecting 21 to return to attacking them at any second.
Instead the Android burst from the rubble before taking to the air aiming for a slightly less destroyed part of the city.
"What was that about?" Chi Chi asked as they humans watched him go.
"Do you guys feel that?" Yamcha suddenly asked as he reached his senses out in the direction the Android was going.
Goku and Cooler's energy were reaching critical mass, much longer and they would drop to the point where they were weaker than the human fighters.
Also that direction they felt Piccolo hurdling towards the dropping energy levels.
Without having to speak anymore all three of the fighters took back to the air, leaving the exhausted Lime to fall back into a sitting motion. Tien held back for just a moment. "Lime stay here, you did well. We'll take care of things from here."
Knowing there was nothing more she could do. While she sat there looking in the direction all of the others went, she couldn't help but picture Videl, her Videl. A small fire lite itself inside of her again, as tears began to flow from her eyes, all of the sacrifice, the pain the training. All of it was for today.
Lime forced herself to her feet. 'No I can't sit this out.' She thought as she forced herself back into the air.
Piccolo had gotten close enough to see the Android, any second now he was sure he would be spotted as well.
Somehow the Android who had initially been struggling to fight Trunks one on one was now able to hold both Cooler and Goku at the same time. What's more he seemed to be able to lower their power levels just by a touch. Piccolo immediately came up with a possible way this happened. 'He can drain energy?'
Piccolo tightened his fists, unsure of how strong that Android had gotten at this point. 'Fine let's see how well you follow this!' He thought in his head as his Kaioken aura flashed out stronger than ever before.
In a flash he crossed the distance, out of the corner of his eye he noticed a new Pink creature that had been trying to intercept him, now the creature, likely another Android was on a trajectory well behind him and moving in slow motion. Turning his focus back to the situation in front of him, he switched to a position so his kick would land first.
In just the fraction of a second he had held this new higher level of Kaioken he felt as if his body was ready to blow apart at any second.
Just as his foot was about to connect 19's inhuman eyes shifted to make contact with his own.
"More energy de-" Just as 19 released Goku and Cooler and started to reach towards Piccolo's extended leg. Piccolo's foot made contact with his face. Imparting as much of his momentum as he could into the Android Piccolo drove him back, and the instant 19's hands made contact with his leg, the Namekian warrior had zero hesitation in cutting off his own leg.
19 and Piccolo's leg launched off across the battlefield, before colliding with the ruined remains of a once proud skyscraper.
"Goku...If you have energy... we need to get the others and get out of here now I'm just about done…and that Android has gotten too strong." Piccolo managed placing a hand on his chest trying to get his heart rate to drop to a safe level.
Goku, who had dropped out of Super Saiyan state due to lack of energy several minutes ago let out a tired voice. "Ok...I'll try...grab on…" He managed between pants.
Piccolo grasped onto the barely conscious Cooler, as Goku focused on the locations of the other fighters and then vanished.
Android 21 had just began readjusting his course to catch up with Piccolo with a small blast landed in the small of his back. It wasn't enough to do anything more than annoy the super powered being.
With a look of irritation the pink android turned to face the trio of weak humans who would dare come back and interfere with his work, especially since he held back enough not to kill them with his opening blows. He wouldn't be making the same mistake again.
With a feral yell he launched forward, just time for 3 new fighters to appear between him and the humans.
Before he had a chance to react, Piccolo extended his arms and wrapped the humans together. And the entire group vanished again.
A thousand curses crossed through Dr. Gero's mind as he watched Goku and the others vanish into thin air. He had been so close. If only 17 had been more reasonable, or if 21 had acted quicker his victory would've been assured, instead the Doctor was left feeling as if the battle was a loss.
Slowly he loosened his fists. 'It's fine...you planned for this contingency already...Dr. Wheelo's team already completed their preparations. Goku is still going to die today.' The revenge crazed scientist told himself as he attempted to relax.
"19 grab 16. 21 take me to Wheelo." Dr. Gero ordered his two still functional androids.
19 paused for a moment as his eyes watched Gero carefully, as if contemplating something. Even Gero was unnerved staring at his own creation, who had lost half of his previously cracked face to Piccolo's final attack
"What is it 19?" He asked.
"...Nothing Dr. Gero." The Android replied as they took their leave of the ruined battlefield.
After quick stops to grab the battered Lime and a slightly longer jump to pick up Krillin and Trunks, Goku prepared to jump them to a place he was very familiar with.
Reaching out with his mind he tried to locate the familiar constant energy levels. But when he searched the world he couldn't locate either Dende or Mr. Popo. 'That's weird. Maybe Korin and Yajirobe?' He thought as he continued to search in vain for any of the power levels near the lookout.
After striking out on his second idea Goku was starting to get slightly worried. 'Bora's got to still be there.' He thought as he finally locked onto a familiar power level and the entire group vanished.
In an instant they were standing outside the small encampment at the base of Korin's tower.
Sitting at the base of the tower, with a small fire going in front of him was the retired Z fighter, the wounds he had suffered in the past engagements limiting his fighting ability significantly, even with the use of Senzu beans. He was still forced to have his mechanical limb.
"Goku?" The warrior said surprised as he dropped his spoon halfway to his mouth into the stew he held in his bowl.
"Hey Bora! Long time no see." Goku said his weariness leaving him slightly at the sight of his old friend. "Any idea where Dende and Mr. Popo went? Or Korin and Yajirobe for that matter?" the earthling Saiyan asked.
"They're gone?" Bora asked as he felt above him himself confirming the absence of the familiar power levels.
Instantly he rose to his feet a concerned look on his face. "I don't know. In all my years Korin has never to my knowledge left his tower. Nor have I heard of the Earth's guardian abandoning the lookout.
"Don't worry about it, we'll go check it out. We need to visit them anyway." Goku said as the group lifted into the air to investigate the apparently abandoned lookout.
"Goku wait!" Bora called as Goku stopped in place.
"Did you win? Are the Androids defeated?" Bora asked concerned and feeling useless being unable to take part in the fight.
"I…" Goku paused unsure how to call the outcome.
"We were forced to take a tactical retreat." Piccolo cut in answering for Goku. The Namekian warrior was more concerned than the others after learning of Dende's apparent disappearance.
"I...see…" Bora said a dark look on his face. He had been training as best he could the last few years, but he knew he was even further behind the surrounding warriors than he was even before his injury. If they couldn't win the odds of anyone winning weren't good. "Good luck." He added as the warriors continued their ways up to the lookout.
The echo of the explosion echoed out over the battlefield. Nappa who was about to go on the offensive again suddenly felt Vegeta's energy signature take a large hit.
'Damn it Vegeta!' Nappa thought in his head as he realized he was going to need to finish his own battle quickly because fighting two androids at once was proving too much for Vegeta to handle.
Without any further hesitation Nappa launched forward, trying to take the battle to its final stage, dodging a singular energy blast that 13 launched over his head.
The energy slowly faded out around Vegeta, revealing a warrior who was burnt to a crisp. His entire body hurt from the varyingly bad burns covering his body from inability to protect his entire body with his Ki shield.
'Fine I still survived and now we can do this exactly like before!' Vegeta thought as he forced his tired and pained body forward.
With the two Androids separated the Saiyan Prince believed he could execute the same move that gave him victory all those years ago, and eliminate one of the two before the other had a chance to interfere.
Vegeta had made it about halfway to the Android in front of him. 15 quickly raised his guard apparently preparing himself to suffer the full amount of Vegeta's wrath for the fraction of a second it would take for 14 to catch up with them. Before Vegeta could go any further though he caught something coming his way out of the corner of his eye. Against his better judgement the Saiyan Prince stopped and defeated the single energy blast that had launched at him from an unusual direction.
After a brief investigation he noticed Nappa engaging the other Android in that direction. In his mind his fury spike, "NAPPA KEEP THAT HUNK OF METAL FROM INTERFERING IN MY FI-" The rest of Vegeta's shouts were cut off as 14's fist slammed into his cheek.
Vegeta could only spit the blood pooling in his mouth out as he was suddenly trapped between two Androids again, as 15 fully took the second Vegeta was off balance to get in behind him again and unleash a two sided assault on him once more.
With every punch that landed, every kick that found its way through his defenses Vegeta's rage rose higher and higher before finally being unable to take the humiliation of the situation he found himself in any longer. Suddenly ignoring the attacks around him Vegeta curled his body up into a ball.
Both Androids rushed to redouble their efforts seeing it as a sign that Vegeta had reached his limit.
"ENOUGH!" Vegeta shouted at the top of his lungs both of his arms launching out to his sides. With his arms came a massive wave of energy.
Both Androids covered their faces as they were pushed back by the all-encompassing explosion.
Before 14 could lower his guard Vegeta was in front of him a look of borderline madness in his eyes as he drove his fist into the Androids abdomen with all of his strength. The sound of metal shattering rang throughout the city, echoing off buildings.
With his fist still stuck inside the Android Vegeta shouted "DIE! BIG BANG ATTACK!" As he unleashed a powerful Ki blast, ripping out the backside of the larger of the two Androids.
14's eyes opened wide as most of his vital systems were vaporized in an instant, his arms falling to his sides as his infinite energy cores vanished into smoke.
With his face still locked in a snarl Vegeta pulled his fist from the ruined husk that used to be among the most powerful beings in the universe.
Vegeta immediately shifted his gaze to the suddenly less confident 15, who stopped in his tracks an uncertain look on his face as 14's shell dropped to the Earth hundreds of feet below.
"Now then Android I'm going to teach you what it means to fight a Saiyan Super elite. Prepare to learn the true meaning of fear." Vegeta's voice was just loud enough for 15 to pick up on it, a predatory look in his eyes as they locked onto those of his prey's.
15 suddenly became much less certain of his chance of surviving this encounter.
Nappa heard Vegeta's yell and flinched out of habit. Vegeta was furious and with just reason. He was out there fighting two Androids at once, and here Nappa couldn't keep one Android from interfering in that fight.
Nappa's lips curled even further into his snarl. 13 was going to pay for tarnishing his honor like that.
Nappa who had already been engaging the Android menace slowly started changing his battle strategy as he fought. Over the course of his 50 years of purging worlds he had encountered tens of thousands of warriors with bizarre and effective fighting styles. He defeated the heroes of thousands of worlds, defeated the prized prodigies of tens of thousands of fighting styles. One didn't survive as long in the planet purging business as he did without picking up a few things.
Instead of the punches and kicks that he normally used he started switching to knife hands, at first from somewhat expected angles, but after a moment they started coming from more and more bizarre angles, sometimes seemingly not even aimed at vital parts of the Android had he been human.
13's eyes kept shifting back and forth trying to figure out what in the world the Saiyan General had planned. It was then that Nappa's strategy began to bear fruit. By carefully watching how fast the Android was responding to each attack he began to pick up on whether any of his previous attacks had caused any significant damage. After this quick test he had found out that the Androids sight had been significantly hampered on his left side by the jaw breaking blow he had delivered to that side of his face.
Nappa couldn't help but let a victorious smile cross his lips, as he began to focus more and more attacks on 13's left side.
13 immediately began to notice the latest change in strategy and began to position himself more and more at an angle to Nappa, unable to keep up with the Saiyan General's assault any other way.
Just as he blocked the latest strike, his forearm was suddenly enveloped by the giant's massive arm, an instant later his other arm was grasped right at the elbow.
With a surprised look on his face his eyes shifted back to Nappa's face just in time to catch the Saiyan's forehead crashing into his face.
Nappa blinked his eyes once or twice but managed to keep hold of both of the Androids arms, his forehead now bleeding worse.
In front of him 13's head was now even further dented as the Android hadn't been able to send enough energy to reinforce his nose fast enough.
The occasional sparks of electricity were coming much more often as the force of the last blow had knocked 13's jaw completely loose on one side. It only hanging on by the hinge on the right side of his mouth giving the Android's face a bizarre quality.
Nappa wasn't done yet, as 13 still was trying to get a handle on if any of his vital systems had been damaged in the last attack Nappa pulled the Android chest into his massive knee, then locked him in a bear hug, flipped them over and launched down towards the Earth.
13 realized he didn't have time to run a diagnostic test on himself, concluding that the fact he didn't realize this to begin with a sign of serious damage to his main computer.
Thinking fast he fired off a massive blast to their side changing the trajectory of their fall enough for Napa to crash into the remnant of a tower before they could hit the ground. It wasn't enough to break the Saiyans grip but was enough to make the moment that Nappa let go and allowed him to slam into the ground slow enough to be survivable.
An instant later 13 pulled himself from the rubble, his jaw now completely detached, laying on the ground. His body somewhat wobbly despite a steady amount of energy still flowing to him from his two infinite energy engines.
It was inconceivable that the battle had turned so far against him so fast, even when Nappa had used the full amount of his power earlier they were still fighting even. He couldn't believe that Nappa's first surprise blow had really changed the battle that much. Sure it had limited his view on one side somewhat, but how could the Saiyan warrior have realized that it would be so limited. Had he just been testing it just for the sake of testing it?
While the somewhat disoriented 13 still tried to come to terms with the last few minutes of the fight Nappa appeared in front of him, his fist already in the process of slamming into the Android's chest and lifting him high into the air. "Never underestimate" Nappa started as he shifted his arm from driving up to slamming to the Android's upper body causing it to rotate to horizontal to the Earth. Then challenging all of his strength into his two arms and his knee he let out one final shout "A Saiyan warrior!" With that he slammed his two arms down, one over the Android's chest the other along his lower torso down against his knee which was launching upward as fast as it could.
The screech of failing metal echoed out as 13 was fully broken into two halves by the devastating blow.
As Nappa dropped the separated halves to the ground, 13 reached out towards him as if desperate to continue the struggle for a moment before the quiet whir of his engine died off his arm froze in place in the air and it dropped to the ground, alone with his head. Any last words the Android had hoped to say were lost forever.
With a sigh Nappa dropped his arms to his sides, it had been a long time since he had actually had a fight to the death like the one the Android had given him. He had faced too many one sided fights lately for his taste. Even training against Vegeta always turned one sided once the Prince had gotten serious.
Remembering the Prince's own situation Nappa immediately turned to see how Vegeta was faring now, only to realize he had nothing to worry about.
Floating high in the air Vegeta had the Android's small body completely wrapped up with his legs as his arms worked on twisting his head further and further to the side. With one last massive push the head turned past 90 degrees, but Vegeta wasn't done and continued to push against the quickly weakening resistance presented by his victim. A few more seconds and he had managed to turn the head a full 180 degrees before the head started to separate from its body. Finally with one last yell putting everything he had left into the dramatic finishing blow and pulled the head from the small mechanical body.
Uncrossing his legs Vegeta just looked into the eyes of the destroyed Android that had come close to finishing him. Exhaustion was slowly closing in as the he couldn't sustain his Super Saiyan form any longer, his eyes and hair shifting back to their usual black. With one last symbolic gesture Vegeta smashed inwards on both sides of the Android's head completely crushing it a look of utter disgust on his face as he remembered he was supposedly killed by this piece of trash in the alternate timeline.
As he tossed the debris down to join the rest of the sea of destruction West City had been reduced to by his fight. He stared off into the distance, "So Kakarot and the others have already finished their fights. Fine then we can finally settle things." He muttered to himself as he took off in the direction of the lookout. Nappa silently following behind him, surprised the Prince hadn't chewed him out more about not finishing off 13 quicker.
Surprise everyone! I'm back! I actually got a chapter done early! I think this ties the fastest turn around I've ever had on a chapter! As I said at the end of the last chapter I'll be experimenting with how I respond to reviews so any feedback you have with any changes I make to that is appreciated. :)
Anyway this fast turn around is my way of trying to thank everyone for being so patient the last i guess entire year. I know I've been slow updating. Since I had a few unexpected days off of work I was able to crank this out. Are there any other satellites that Bulma could use to help the other z fighters?
She has an entire array of them, if she uses too many they won't be able to watch what is happening on the ground.
Could you explain the Overdrive mode in more detail?
-What are the similarities and differences between Kaio Ken and the Overdrive mode?
Are all androids capable of utilising Overdrive Mode?
Androids have infinite energy however you seem to be making it appear that the overdrive mode is a last ditch technique.
-Is it exhausting the Androids?
I predict that android 17 and android 18 are only capable of utilising their overdrive ability to increase their strength by 50% rather than multiplying ones strength ten to twenty times over. Is that the difference between the overdrive ability to the kaio ken.
Over drive is very similar to Kaioken only it can only allow the Androids to double their strength. Basically the way I see the Androids infinite energy engines is that it can generate a set amount basically forever hence the infinite energy, but they can only use a set amount at a time hence why anyone can defeat them. Overdrive simply revs up how much energy is generated at a time at the risk of overworking the engine and causing it to stall out. Androids 16-18 can use it.
i would really like to know what happened with Turles and Gohan. Could you please give us a small hint about what happened to them in the next chapter.

Q]Can a saiyan gain a power of 300 million without becoming a super saiyan?
In my story they cannot. Nappa began to reach the upper limits of a non-transformed Super Saiyan while he was in the 20 millions. Having an Astronomy degree the way I think of it is similar to stellar fusion. You hit a limit (run out of fuel for a star) and are unable to get past it. When the pressure builds up enough you go to the next level up i.e. Super Saiyan (start fusing the next element up the chart)
Could you please incorporate the power levels of the cannon universe and the CS universe so that the readers can compare the power levels from one another.
In chapter 60 could you give us a page full of power levels and release the actual story two weeks after the release of the power level chapter so that the readers will be able to question you on the power levels alone.
Are all the androids stronger than their cannon counterparts?
I should be able to handle both requests. I won't be posting a whole new chapter on the power levels but I will try to get a power level sheet posted on my profile sometime this next week for anyone who is interested in it. I'll try to make sure that I have all of my canon estimates with each character.
You also stated that there are other empires in the universe that could have expanded even more than the PTO and those empires could possibly have dictators even stronger than the Frost Demons Will those empires make an appearance in your story?
No real solid plans on anyone from another galaxy joining the story at the moment. There is one arc where there is a slight chance but it is a long, long ways off like one of the final 2 arcs of the story.

If I remember right I think I briefly mentioned it during one of Cooler's chapters. Without going back and searching for it I think I pegged their ages at atleast 70.

Not really a fan of it at least up until what I've seen so far. Saw part of the black saga and kinda haven't watched since.
In chapter 53 King cold utilised his fifth form in order to fight Cepa. I was okay with this because i was under the assumption that King Cold was already capable of transforming into that form however, you stated in the review section that this was his first time transforming and you sure made it appear that it was in chapter 53 . The reason as to why i am confused is that the modern saiyans cannot transform into super saiyans so why is it that Cold can transform into his fifth transformation.
Cold could transform because he was more than strong enough to transform he just was lazy and never even used his main form. There wasn't a need to find a higher form even though he had the ability. The modern Saiyans in hell are far below the minimum level of strength necessary to transform. In my story the two requirements to transform are that you have a power level above 1,000,000 and you are in a combo of emotional distress and great need.
Bio-Men are warriors utilised by the scientists Dr. Wheelo and Dr. Kochin

Why did you have Yamacha replace Krillin in the trip to Namek?
Because of Krillin's heroic sacrifice during the Saiyan Saga they were able to buy enough time to win the fight. As you said in your review Yamcha isn't the greatest friend so him making that level of sacrifice that early doesn't fit as well. It also gave yamcha more time to develop as a character, and open new opportunities for Krillin as well.

The Pendulum Room is a room on Kami's Lookout that allows a person's mind to travel to any place at any point in time. Will that be utilised in this story?
I think during the Saiyan Saga training arc it did make an appearance, I'll try to look sometime and make sure if it has or not. It could appear again.

Yeah he pretty much understands the situation, if Nappa was able to figure it out as quick as he did you can be sure Vegeta did.

They used to fight in hell, but he has since been preoccupied. Cepa isn't necessary afraid of them, fighting them just doesn't do much for her anymore. She was fighting them almost constantly for the first century since then she got tired of it and diversified her targets.

Because as long as you stay away from the horrors battlefield you usually don't have to deal with them

As you will eventually see the horrors haven't stopped fighting each other in centuries. Cepa has gotten involved in the fight multiple times but has eventually decided it isn't worth getting involved with anymore. Cepa lost more than she won, instant revive leads to some interesting situations.

Spirax570 – I'm glad you enjoy the way I've been responding, I'm still going to try and give good responses with this new way I'm trying out. Please let me know if it isn't as good or anything. If enough people don't like the new style I don't have a problem going back to the old style, I just have a history of starting to receive a lot of complaints when the A/N gets as long as the chapter itself.
A better question would be why didn't any of the super saiyans transform during the three year training gap.
The training they received in the hyperbolic time chamber is much more extreme than what they were able to do on their own. So they didn't make as big of gains.
When an individual like Goku dies at the age of 100 would they return to their prime when they die?
Yeah I think they would go back to their prime. I didn't see many old fighters training in other world.

They are rivals who each had something the other wanted, they currently are working together because riding the world of the z fighters benefit both of them.
Misokatsun ,Kishime, Ebifurya are the three Bio-Warriors created by Dr. Kochin who serve Dr. Wheelo.

Cepa and the Saiyans are a net positive for Pikkon, they keep potential trouble makers in line. Cepa has sought him out on his occasional visits, he ranks among the top 5 fighters she's come across that she mentioned while brutalizing Cold the first time.
In the cannon Dragon Ball universe it is stated that Cold had a large ki and that it was higher than Mecha Frieza's when they were arriving on earth . How is Vegeta in his base form matching him in strength in his second transformation.
So I think I mentioned this back during the Cold fight, but Mecha frieza at least in my mind was at his resting energy when they were arriving, much like he was when he first transformed. So around 3 million. Cold was said be around that level in his second form, so the scaling should be about the same.
You appear to be a huge Dragon Ball fan but are there any other anime's you are interested in such as One Piece, Fairy Tail, Naruto ,One Punch Man and Attack Of Titans. Do you have plans to make any fanfics for them?
I've had a list of most of the shows I've enjoyed on my profile. I went ahead and updated it after your question since I realize I hadn't in a few years. I started a SAO one time, but only got a few thousand words in before I thought of a cool change I could do to my plans for whatever arc I was working on in Culture Shock and haven't touched it since. So it's sitting in my story folder with like a dozen or so other DBZ stories that met similar fates. I also did the same with a RWBY cross over lol. I might write one at some point, more focused on finishing this story first.
