Chapter 26

If her older brother Sebastian's call didn't wake her up from her deep sleep that morning, Emilia would've slept all day. She brought her left arm out of the thick comforter and grabbed her phone from the nightstand. When she opened her eyes to look at the screen of her phone, she squinted and pressed answer. She brought her phone to her left ear.

"Hey Bas."

"M-Mama!"

Emilia rose up from the bed and upon hearing her son Levi's voice, the drowsiness that she felt immediately disappeared.

"Levi? Mama's here!" Emilia said excitedly. "Bas? Am on loud speaker?"

"Yeah Emilia, you are," Sebastian answered. She could hear Levi babbling in the background. "Happy Valentine's Day! I thought today would be the perfect day to let you know that Levi's starting to talk."

Tears escaped Emilia's eyes.

"Thank you, Bas! When did he start talking?"

"You're welcome. He started talking three days ago. His first word was mama. I guess he misses you."

Sebastian said. More tears came out of Emilia's eyes.

"Let me talk to him."

Levi's babbling became louder and it's as if he was there with her.

"Levi, hey. Mama misses you and she loves you very much."

Levi giggled in response. Emilia laughed. She sniffed and wiped her tears away with her fingers.

"I gotta go now, Emilia. We'll talk to you soon, okay?"

Sebastian said.

"Okay. Bye Bas, bye Levi!"

After Sebastian hung up, Levi saying mama was stuck on repeat in Emilia's head.

She placed her phone on the nightstand and hugged her knees. She put her forehead on her knees and sobbed. She felt so alone and she missed Levi and Dean so much. She hasn't spoken to Dean since the night they were texting each other when she was in Florida for WWE NXT since he's been avoiding her for days and she didn't know why. She texted and called him multiple times but she didn't get a single reply. And yesterday, she got another envelope from Kane. In it, there were pictures of Dean and Renee travelling together and even taking pictures with the fans.

Emilia cried until she couldn't anymore. She wiped the tears off her face and said a quick prayer to God to give her strength to be able to endure anything that comes her way. When she was done praying, she fell asleep holding the silver cross pendant of her necklace.

April 2010

"Ambrose! You have a visitor."

Sondra told Dean as she entered the lounging area of the mental institution. The man behind her was a man he knew so well and he considered him as a brother. His black hair was unruly, same as his beard.

"Sami, my man!"

A wide grin appeared on Dean's face as Sami Callihan, his former tag team partner, approached him. Sami threw his arms around Dean and Dean did the same.

"So good to see you, Jon!"

Sami said with a smile.

"Not so loud," Dean hushed Sami. "It's Dean now. Dean Ambrose."

Sami nodded.

"Why'd you change your name?"

Sami asked as he scratched the back of his head. Dean sat on the window seat. He shrugged.

"The institution thinks that changing my name will prevent people from my past from finding me, but I think the past always has a way of catching up with someone."

Sami sat on the empty spot beside Dean and nodded.

"I think so too. When will you be out of this place anyway?"

"I don't know. Vince called me a week ago and he said he's working everything out so I'm guessing that I'll be out of here very soon. Once I get out of here and start wrestling in the indys again, they'll see if I'm worthy of a contract or not."

Dean answered as he cracked his left knuckles with his right hand. Sami gave Dean a pat on the back.

"Congratulations, man! You're on your way to the WWE."

Dean smirked.

"Thanks. It's a long way to go, but I'm gonna get there."

"I know you will."

Dean and Sami spent hours talking and their conversation only ended when the sun went down. A security guard escorted Sami out of the lounging room while Sondra accompanied Dean and the other patients to their respective rooms.

When Dean got inside his room, he lay on his bed and closed his eyes. Dean didn't see Emilia's angelic face that day and he misses her very much. Every time Emilia visits her dad, she engages in a long conversation with Dean. She talks to him more than to her dad now and Dean doesn't regret his decision to approach her back in February because they wouldn't be talking to each other if he hadn't done what he did.

As Emilia's face appeared behind his eyes, Dean felt a warm sensation washing over him and settling between his thighs, making his length hard. He didn't want to think of Emilia that way, but he gave into what his body wanted by pulling down his sweatpants and started jerking off to the thought of her.

When Emilia woke up for the second time, it was because of a loud banging on the door. As she was getting off the bed, her feet got caught in the comforter. She landed face first on the carpeted floor. She groaned when she felt the pain from the fall on the front part of her body. The banging on the door became louder and more urgent. She brought herself up off the floor using her entire body.

When she got to the door, she opened it and saw Dean standing there, wearing a suit and carrying a big bouquet of red tulips in his arms. He looked surprised and so was she.

"Nice shirt."

Dean said and stared at the shirt she was wearing - it was his shirt that's available on the WWE Shop website. Emilia blushed and crossed her arms.

"You haven't spoken to me in weeks and you think you can show up here looking like that and bring me those?"

Emilia said loudly. Her anger amused Dean, since she doesn't always get mad.

"It's Valentine's Day and I wanted to spend the entire day with you. Happy Valentine's Day!"

Dean answered as he handed her the bouquet of red tulips. He stared at Emilia with puppy dog eyes and instantly her anger at him was gone. She sighed and took the flowers from him.

"Come in."

Dean grinned and stepped inside her hotel room. When Emilia closed the door, Dean sat on the end of the unmade bed. Emilia placed the bouquet next to her suitcase on the loveseat near the window. She turned around and placed her hands on her hips as she stared at Dean while Dean stared at her. She liked seeing him in a suit and he still found her beautiful even without any make-up on.

"If we're just going to stare at each other here all day, then I shouldn't have dressed up."

Emilia laughed as Dean loosened the knot on his black necktie.

"Let me get ready."

Dean nodded. Emilia turned around and unzipped her luggage. She took out her pouch full of toiletries and a ball of clothes that she didn't bother folding. When she had her stuff in her arms, she ran to the bathroom and locked the door.

She took a quick cold shower. When she was done, she dried herself and wrapped her body and her hair in fluffy white towels. She went to the sink to get started on her make-up. She decided to go for the natural look but went heavy with the concealer to cover her dark undereye circles and the puffiness that surrounded her eyes from the crying that she did.

Once her make-up was done, she separated the ball of clothes and laid it beside the sink. Luckily, it was matching nude-colored underwear and her favorite little black tube velvet dress. She put it all on. She smoothed out the wrinkles in her dress with her hands and stared at her reflection on the mirror. She loved how the dress fits on her; hugging every curve that she had and displaying just the right amount of cleavage. Her necklace with a silver cross pendant hung around her neck and she didn't feel like wearing any other accessories except for that one.

The last thing for her to do was her hair. She took her hair out of the towel and let it fall over her face. She grabbed her comb and ran it through her damp brown hair, taking all the tangles out. She parted it on the right side of her head and left it alone to air dry. She sighed and looked at her reflection on the mirror for the final time before gathering all of her stuff and getting out of the bathroom.

When Dean heard the bathroom door opening then closing, he turned his head and stood up. He saw Emilia and looked at her from head to toe as she walked towards the loveseat. He saw her bringing out a pair of black pumps with red soles. Emilia slipped on her shoes and turned around to look at Dean, who was standing behind her.

"You look perfect."

Dean told her with an approving smirk. Emilia smiled as she tightened the knot on his neck tie.

"So do you."

Emilia replied. When she was done, Dean offered his arm to her. She held on to it and they went out of her hotel room looking like that. When they got to the lobby, people were looking at them, but neither Dean nor Emilia cared about them because they were with each other.

After a long day of exploring the city and enjoying each other's company, Dean and Emilia returned to the hotel to have dinner at the restaurant. The Chef's Special was all Italian. They were done with all the other courses and the only course left was dessert. A small plate of chocolate cherry tiramisu was on the middle of the round table that Dean and Emilia were sitting at. As Emilia grabbed the dessert fork, Dean took one of the three cherries on top of the confection and put it in his mouth. She watched him eat the cherry as she cut a piece of tiramisu with her fork. When she brought the fork up to her lips, Dean took the stalk of the cherry out of his mouth. The straight stalk has been tied into a perfect knot and his lips were stained red from the cherry's juices. She smirked before taking the fork in her mouth because she knows what it means when someone could tie the stalk of a cherry into a knot using just their tongue.

Dean grabbed the other dessert fork after placing the cherry stalk on the table. Before digging into the dessert, he watched Emilia as she ate. She licked the cream off her upper lip and some of it off the back of her fork. He wanted to tell her something important, but he got distracted from her actions.

When Dean was able to recompose himself and his thoughts, he pushed his fork into the tiramisu.

"You know, if you wanna know anything about me, you can ask me."

Dean told her before putting the fork in his mouth. Emilia placed her fork down, letting its pointed ends hang off the edge of the plate. She looked into Dean's unfeeling blue eyes and she knew exactly why he said what he said.

"If Solomon told you what I asked him weeks ago, I'm sorry. It's just," Emilia stopped talking and sighed. "I wanna know more of you, but I also wanna know what other people know about you."

Dean placed his fork down on the table and swallowed. His face had no emotion on it, making Emilia feel nervous.

"I think we've reached the point in our relationship where we should have trust with each other. No lies, just honesty."

Emilia was expecting a violent reaction, but she didn't get one from Dean. When she looked in Dean's blue eyes, they were warm and she no longer felt nervous. Her heart fluttered when she heard him say our relationship.

"We could work on trusting each other."

Emilia responded. Dean took her hand and held it, stroking her knuckles dotingly.

"Then let's get to work soon."

Emilia grinned and nodded. Dean raised his other hand to get a waiter or a waitress's attention. When a waiter came to their table, Dean asked for a bottle of their finest champagne. He stared at Emilia as they waited, who was eating what was left of the tiramisu.

As Dean looked at Emilia, he was reminded that she's the only woman he's ever truly loved, even though he's been with many women in the past. He didn't want to love anybody else, and he couldn't.

While eating, Emilia thought about her association with The Authority, most especially with Seth. She didn't know if Dean was aware of it all or not, but she wanted to tell him - tell him how they're constantly pointing out how he's bad for her and persuading her to end her relationship with him. But at the same time, she didn't wanted to because she didn't wanted to lose her job and ruin what she has with him.

When the champagne arrived, Dean let Emilia's hand go and stood up. He unscrewed the cap of the champagne bottle and a little foam came oozing out of it. The waiter handed him two champagne flutes and Dean filled them with the light gold fizzy liquid. When he was done, the waiter took the open bottle of champagne while Dean gave one champagne flute to Emilia. He took the other one and raised it.

"To trust, and to us."

Dean proposed. Emilia raised her glass.

"To trust and to us."

Both of them took a sip at the same time and savored the heavenly taste of the champagne. When Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers started playing, Dean put down his champagne flute and stood up. He extended his right arm to Emilia, offering his hand to her. Emilia understood the gesture and took his hand. He led her to the center of the dance floor and they danced. Both of them didn't want the night to end.

Author's note: Here's a fact about me: I love the movie Ghost with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore and I think I've seen it more than a hundred times, hahaha! Anyway, I think it may take me a while to post the next chapter since our prefinal exams are next week and I have a lot of activities to prepare for, ugh. Anyway, thank you for all the reviews, follows, and favorites! And if you haven't checked out my other story Devil In The Flesh you should, especially if you love Finn Bálor and Sami Zayn. - C x
