Chapter 76: Hope

Goku's entire world froze for a moment as he locked eyes with his brother, the same brother who had caused his family so much pain.

Instantly Goku's aura surrounded him as he flew across the room, pinning Raditz against the wall by the throat. It took everything in him to keep his power low enough to avoid killing Raditz right then and there. He couldn't keep himself from transforming completely though, his eyes were glowing blue. "Raditz...where is he? Where is Gohan!"

Raditz's eyes bulged from the pressure being exerted on his throat. He never felt more naked in that moment. With his own strength blocked for some strange reason he was defenseless against his previously pitiful brother's assault.

"Ah a family reunion...as interesting as it would be to watch it unfold, I wouldn't want to interrupt. I'll just be going-" Cell muttered quietly as he began to make his way towards the nearest exit. He could tell he was a distinct disadvantage against Goku while his Ki was blocked even though his pride and rage demanded he get his revenge he knew he would first need to regain his Ki before he could make any further moves.

Goku's reaction was immediate "You're not going anywhere Cell!" Goku yelled, with Raditz still in his hands he appeared above Cell and delivered a powerful downward kick to the bio-androids head, reducing him to a bloody pile of mush on the floor.

Raditz and Turles suddenly had the same uncomfortable thought run through their minds. 'What happens if I die here?'

Even King Yemma was shocked by Goku's out of character display. "Goku! Was that really necessary?" The giant ogre managed, trying to come to terms with a sentient being, being reduce to a pile of flesh in his own office.

Goku was quiet for a moment trying to calm himself before answering. Slowly he got control, his aura diminishing. "I'm sorry King Yemma, Cell has just done so much damage to the Earth, and now with finally finding Raditz again after all these years, I couldn't afford to get distracted and let him try and escape.

"Oh...very well then, why don't you take him someplace else for now to talk while we get this mess cleaned up. Just be sure to have him back here for his trail eventually." King Yemma managed, eager for the still somewhat enraged Saiyan to leave his office. "I'll just finish the trail for Cell, and…" King Yemma quickly checked his docket that updated whenever a new soul entered the office. "Turles here and try and get caught back up."

"Thanks King Yemma!" Goku replied, his demeanor softening somewhat closer to his usual disposition.

A sinking feeling formed in the pit of Turles stomach. "Wait a moment, Kakarot was it? Let's talk this out. I'm Turles, if you're Raditz's brother, you're my cousin... we're family. You're looking for your son, Gohan right? Well I was with him too, so if you want information about him you might as well take both of us. Besides now that I think about it, it was your fault we got killed in the first place."

Goku's eyes focused on Turles for the first time, hardening to a glare again. Immediately he noticed Turles could be his own twin. Besides that he didn't understand what he could've done to have gotten them killed but none of that was important at the moment, right now he needed to focus on the fact that he might have information on Gohan. "Fine." Goku said as he grabbed Turles as well and teleported away.

As the last bit of Cell washed away in the immense beam of power shooting out towards space, Trunks felt gravity return. His body felt like every inch weighed a ton, as he came crashing back down to his knees, his hair changing from golden to its usual light purple in an instant.

Reaching out over the battlefield, he couldn't sense a trace of Cell. It appeared they had finally won. But as he continued to search through it, the true cost of that victory came crashing home again. Of the dozens of fighters who had gathered there today, only a handful remained alive. Nearly every person that Trunks' personally cared about was dead.

His eyes falling on Videl's lifeless body once more. He knew she'd be wished back, like his father and the others. But he still failed her, just like he had failed the Videl from his timeline.

As Trunks wrestled with his emotions, the largest other power he could sense on the entire planet quickly made its way over to him.

"Hey Trunks...you ok?" Krillin asked trying to keep himself composed. It wasn't the first time Krillin had seen a large number of his friends die gruesome deaths, but that didn't mean it ever got any easier.

Trunks slowly pulled himself out of his own thoughts, "Not really…" He replied quietly.

"I know, it's tough right now. But don't worry, I'm sure Goku..." Krillin winced slightly after watching his best friend's body blow away in the wind just moments ago, turned completely to ash. "Goku is already at King Kai's planet trying to get things set up so everyone can get wished back." He managed to finish.

"Yeah, you're right Trunks said, still very little enthusiasm in his voice.

"Stay here, I'm going to go look for other survivors." Krillin said after another moment of trying to cheer the despondent teenager up.

"Hey Kadrat look over there, we got more fireworks, you know what that means right?" Carro said with a smirk.

Kadrat jumped to his feet, "Hell yeah! Fresh meat! Go gather up the welcoming committee this is going to be fun." He replied a sadistic smile

Within a few seconds a team of 10 Saiyans had taken off towards the massive explosions flaring in the distance.

As the group cut across the landscape they quickly noticed a second wall of destructive energy bursting to life to their left, this time an order of magnitude bigger than the last.

"Damn some goodie, goodie hero been busy out there today." Carro muttered in awe at the size of the explosions even at the incredible distance they were currently at.

"I wonder what planet they're from this time? More Frost Demons maybe?" Another Saiyan asked from the back.

"No way, do you see how big those are. They'd have to at least be as strong as Cepa's new plaything to generate that much power." Kadrat responded referring to Cold, unaware that Cepa had grown bored with Cold a while ago.

The group fell into silence. Being Saiyans each wanted to challenge new strong opponents, but they each recognized there was a difference between a challenge and suicide. Not that it mattered much seeing how they were dead. The pain was the only real unpleasant part, so there were no long-lasting repercussions. For several of them they had met with such an end just a week ago when a mysterious new Saiyan had arrived and decimated half their squad in an instant.

"Whatever, with this many of us we can take them." Carro finally declared trying to brighten the mood.

It was only then that a third wall of destruction, this time even larger than the other two began, with that any chance of changing the mood was destroyed. The entire group collectively thought to themselves the same thing. "Shit…'

Krillin had enlisted the help of King Chappa and the handful of other human survivors to help search the battlefield looking for other survivors. Unfortunately, they found no others. All across the wasteland the story was the same, if Cell had laid a hand on them they were dead. That is until Krillin came across Chi Chi, to his surprise, she was still breathing, just unconscious from the quick strike to the back of her head.

While they were still deciding who to send to get her help, the first of the emergency response vehicles came into view.

Within a few minutes dozens were landing across the battlefield rushing around checking the bodies that the survivors had already left for dead. Without any hesitation Krillin scooped Chi Chi up again and rushed her over to the nearest medevac ship.

As they were loaded into the rescue ships Krillin gave the battlefield one last look over. Hoping that was the last time he'd have to see so many of his friends dead.

King Kai had been so deep in conversation with the other Kai's failed to notice when Goku made his appearance with his two tagalongs.

"West Kai, I understand you are tracking your own trail of destruction now too, but I urge you to hold off sending Pikkon in just yet. He only gets one day every century and right now this takes priority. We haven't had a threat this dangerous since Bojack, and frankly we are out of practice. If we had to seal him right now we'd fail. We need to start pooling our strength immediately." King Kai said to his main rival."

Goku had been silent for a moment listening to what King Kai had been saying, his Saiyan blood already beginning to pump at the prospect of another strong opponent, just to avoid any let downs though he decided to start with. "Hey King Kai! Are you talking about Cell? We actually beat him! I brought him to King Yemma personally." Goku cheerly said.

"Waaa!" King Kai shouted, completely surprised at Goku's sudden arrival. Goku was the one person he needed to tread lightly on this subject with. If Goku knew his son was with this Broly monster, he'd go rushing in before they could assemble a squad strong enough to bring him down, and frankly with the depth of power he sensed just beneath the surface, Goku and the others fighters on Earth would be hopelessly outmatched. Even Piccolo would likely only be able to fight the beast for a few minutes with his limitations.

Quickly he added. "Wh-what are you doing here?" He stammered just now noticing the two figures behind Goku. "Who are they?"

"Oh yeah King Kai, this is Raditz my brother who stole Gohan and this is….Uh….What's your name again?" Goku asked, his angry demeanor from first meeting already giving way to his naturally cheerier personality.

Turles just looked at Goku in shock, could this being really be a Saiyan? His initial entrance was much more of what he'd expect a Saiyan to act like. He demeanor wasn't even particularly like his sons. It was a bizarre sight if he had ever seen on. "I'm Turles...your cousin." He introduced himself again.

"Oh right, ok so his name is Turles." Goku parroted. "Anyway, we beat Cell, but I ended up dying again in the process. But when I got to King Yemma's palace again Raditz was just sort of standing there. I needed to ask him about Gohan, but King Yemma is really busy today so he asked me to go elsewhere to talk and Turles wanted to tag along so I brought him too. So, could we please stay here for a bit while they tell me where Gohan is?" Goku breathlessly explained like a child telling a story. His excitement at the prospects of finding his son were mixing with the excitement he felt at the possibility of another strong fight shortly after getting wished back.

Raditz and Turles both had the same thought as they listened to Goku's explanation. 'Died again?' As bizarre as it sounded, Kakarot clearly was familiar with many of the denizens of the afterlife and with the ability to instantly teleport seemingly anywhere, they couldn't completely rule out the possibility he had a means to return to the land of the living.

Turles' eyes shone brightly at the prospect, his negotiations with Goku just became much more important.

King Kai suddenly put the pieces together, they were two were two of the bodies he saw strewn along the battlefield during the fight between Gohan and Broly. Immediately King Kai's heart began to pound. How could this happen? This was the worst possible timing for Goku to find the location of his son.

The blue deity acted quickly trying to contain any potential damage. "Goku...about that...I actually just located Gohan too." King Kai said trying to tread carefully.

"What? Really! That's great King Kai! I can take these two back to King Yemma and then as soon as I get wished back you can guide me to him. You're keeping track of him, aren't you?" Goku asked excitedly ready to grab the other two and take them back as soon as King Kai said yes.

Turles heart sank, was this all an act, trying to make Turles and Raditz show their hand easier in the negotiations about the location of Gohan? Kakarot, or Goku as he appeared to call himself seemed far too stupid to come up with a plan that complex, but could that all be part of the act too? Gohan could certainly be sly when the situation called for it too. There was too much he didn't know about his strange Saiyan relative.

Raditz was still trying to wrap his mind around the situation. His younger brother supposedly had returned back to life after their fight. What had he been doing all these years? Had he been training too? Vegeta had said he had wiped out the Earth so had he been 'wished back' to another world. Or had he escaped the barren lifeless world Vegeta and Nappa had left behind when the Planet Trade had arrived to begin terraforming it to sell? How strong had he gotten? Surely, he was still a weakling, especially compared to where Raditz was now, but there was something different about Goku when he had grasped him, he could've sworn his eyes were teal which made no sense. With years of dedicated training it was possible he could've pulled himself up to the level of a Saiyan elite such as Nappa or dare he even think Vegeta? There were too many questions swirling in Raditz's mind to keep track of the conversation around him.

"Well actually...there might be a problem with that Goku…" King Kai started to explain. "I was actually in the middle of a conversation about how to deal with a situation surrounding your son before you showed up. Gohan has been taken captive by a terrible monster. Goku, this is very important I need you to hear me out before you make any brash decisions. This monster is not something you can handle alone, or just with the other fighters on Earth. I don't know how you finished Cell off, but I did see Piccolo and Cell fight. Your son transformed into a Super Saiyan and could barely touch him when he got serious Goku. I could feel the depths of his power during the fight, he's a whole level beyond Cell. We need time to come up with a strategy, and to assemble a team of the strongest fighters from across the galaxy and otherworld to have a shot." King Kai explained. "This should give you time to train more. We'll be counting on you and Piccolo to lead the charge in this fight, especially since he seems to...well...have a particular dislike of you..." King Kai tried to assure Goku.

Goku didn't know what to make of what King Kai had just said though. The fact his son was already a Super Saiyan barely registered to Goku. His son was there for the taking. He couldn't just sit there and wait for King Kai to decide what to do. He could be in and out in a matter of seconds. Then Gohan could train with them to take on this threat, what King Kai was proposing didn't make sense to him. Before he had a chance to object though he was cut off by one of his guests.

"That's impossible!" Turles declared angrily. "Yes, Gohan is strong, but he was much weaker than me and I couldn't touch that monster. There is no way Gohan is the Legendary Super Saiyan. Besides the Super Saiyan is invincible, there is no way one could ever be taken captive."

Raditz was the next to speak up. "No, he transformed, I saw him as I was dying."

"You were hallucinating then. You said it yourself you were dying, you probably had brain damage." Turles snarled unhappy that Raditz wasn't was opposing him.

"I know what I saw it was-" Before Raditz could finish his thought Goku cut in.

The fact Gohan had transformed had initially not even registered with him, but since they were on the topic he joined in, hoping to get some information about whether his opponent was really as strong as King Kai made it sound. At the very least more information could help him make a better argument. "Did he look like this?" Goku asked as he effortlessly transformed in front of him.

Raditz and Turles simply stood there slack-jawed for a moment. "Im...impossible…" Turles muttered

"There...there is only supposed to be one Super Saiyan every thousand years…" Raditz added quoting the legend passed down through the generations.

"Only one? There are lots of us right now. Me, Vegeta, Nappa, Trunks...Gohan apparently." Goku said counting each of the Super Saiyans off on his fingers.

"Vegeta and Nappa survived fighting Frieza?" Raditz asked shocked yet again.

"Well sort of. Nappa died, but we brought him back." Goku explained allowing his hair to drop to its usual black.

"Anyway" Goku started, turning back to King Kai. "King Kai please, just guide me to Gohan. I won't stay and fight much. Just grab him and go and maybe a teeny tiny little fight to feel him out." Goku pleaded.

"I'm sorry Goku...it's not a risk we can take right now. Just give us a few months. I'm sure we'll be able to assemble a team to take him on by then. Then a few more months of training together and we will be set." King Kai said.

Goku just looked at King Kai with a look of disbelief. After all he had done, all the years of searching, his own master was going to be the latest one to deny him a chance to rescue his son. How could he be still knowing his son was in danger.

Silently Goku gave Turles and Raditz a look. He didn't like it but it was his only choice. Telepathically he asked. 'If I bring you two with me when I get wished back will you lead me to Gohan?'

Turles and Raditz kept their faces straight, as alarming as it was that they could hear Goku's voice in their head, it wasn't that strange compared to the thought of instant travel or coming back from the dead. The only sign either gave they had heard him was the slightest of nods.

Goku let out an exaggerated sigh. "Fine...you win King Kai. I won't make you guide me to this monster until it's time to fight him. Just tell me it's going to be soon."

King Kai was initially surprised Goku had given in so easily, if it was anyone besides Goku he would think they were trying to pull a fast one on him. But nothing in Goku's past gave him reason to doubt his honesty. "Good, I was worried you wouldn't see logic. Like I said just a few months to gather everyone and a few more months of training and Gohan will be back safe in your arms by the end of the year." King Kai replied relieved it had gone so well.

"Sounds good to me." Goku said. "Oh yeah one more thing King Kai, could you let me talk to Bulma for a minute?"

"Sure thing." King Kai said deciding his conversation with the other Kai's could wait a few more minutes.

"Thanks." Goku beamed as he placed a hand on King Kai's shoulder and contacted Bulma.

"Hey Bulma, I need you to gather the Dragon Balls as fast as you can. Also, please only use the first wish until I get there." He added.

"What was that about Goku?" King Kai asked suddenly suspicious.

"Nothing... Just a wish I thought of is all." He added trying to look innocent.

It had taken nearly two hours for the group of Saiyans to make their way to the nearest and smallest wave of destruction cutting its way through the hellscape.

When they got close enough to see the source of the destruction a wave of fury welled up in the lead Saiyan. It was none other than the new arrival who had defeated him just a week or so ago.

"Stay on your guard, this bastard is going down this time." Carro snarled to the others as they made their way towards the panting Saiyan Prince.

Vegeta was having trouble catching his breath. He had been firing attack after attack in all directions for what seemed like hours and it barely lessened his fury. Cell had somehow survived the Android's suicide attack that had taken out the Namekian. With Piccolo and Vegeta dead, the chances that the other Z Fighters could defeat Cell looked slim. The only chance they likely had was if one of the three surviving Saiyans had somehow found a way to ascend to the new state that Cepa had shown him just a week ago. Such a feat in and of itself was an insult to Vegeta's honor. He had already had the chance to be the first Super Saiyan in a millennium ripped from his hands, and the thought of one of the others, especially that fool Kakarot supplanting his rightful place as the most powerful Saiyan alive was beyond what he could take.

Just as he readied himself to unleash another wave of destruction, this time at a small desperately running four-legged creature desperate to escape Vegeta's notice a new voice cut in.

"Hey jackass! Remember us?" The lead Saiyan asked already transformed into his Super Saiyan State

Vegeta turned to face his dozen or so opponents with a look of disinterest to hide his still burning fury. "Not especially, should I?"

"Bastard! You killed us not even a week ago." Carro snarled.

"I remember you now, you're the fools I used as punching bags when I arrived in hell the last time. And you thought it smart to seek out the same warrior that just slaughtered you? Not the smartest move on your part." Vegeta replied as he turned to face the group, wiping a bit of sweat from his brow. In all honestly fighting the group as worn out as he was, was going to be more of a challenge than his pride wanted to admit.

"You're not catching us off-guard this time. Plus, we have our full team here. You're in for a rough first few decades." Kadrat cut in, his aura blazing brightly.

"Brave words from weaklings such as yourself, let's see if you can back them up." Vegeta declared as the battle began.

Nappa had spent several hours now venting his frustration. He still couldn't believe he was killed so easily again Cell. He'd failed to avenge Vegeta. Without him Cooler was probably easy pickings for Cell as none of the other fighters had even a fraction of their strength. He fully knew there would be no resurrection this time, which meant he had failed to keep his promise to his son as well.

Off in the distance he could feel Vegeta still venting his frustration, rightfully so. Knowing him it would be a while before he came to terms with things. So, until then the only thing he could do was make his way to the Saiyan city and let his family know the bad news.

Carro was beginning to get nervous. They had already lost 3 of their fighters. It wasn't the same slaughter it had been the first time they had faced Vegeta, but even as tired as the Saiyan Prince had appeared when they had first arrived, he simply refused to go down.

With so many of them all trying to get a hand hold on Vegeta at the same time, they were actually managing to get in each other's way. To have a full squad against a single opponent, usually meant the opponent themselves were massive. Instead Vegeta was diminutive in stature, with incredible speed and agility to boot.

Carro dove in at the nearest opening, recently vacated by Karot being sent flying backwards by a kick to his face.

Carro's first attack was the only one he managed, as his fist was neutralized by Vegeta's forearm.

The Saiyan Prince let out a faint grunt as he was forced to block Carro's attack with his arm and another Saiyan's kick with his knee at the same time. Unfortunately for him he was forced to tank a third attack that landed just below the bottom of his ribcage on his left side.

He didn't let such weak attacks slow him down, even in his weakened state he absorbed the blows and lashed out with vengeance.

In a flash he had slide his arm down, catching Carro's still extended wrist and pulled downward with all of his might, in the same instant he snapped his other knee upwards cleanly breaking the larger Saiyan's arm.

Carro let out a wail of pain, as he tried to pull away. Vegeta was forced to let him as another Saiyan slammed a kick into the Saiyan Prince's back.

Vegeta took the strike in stride, using it to launch himself forward, slamming his forehead into the nose of the female Saiyan who's kick he had just blocked with his shin an instant ago.

The box of warriors surrounding him was broken in an instant as two more rushed forward trying to take their two stunned comrades place.

Vegeta wasn't going to allow that though. Reaching his arms out to both sides he quickly charged and released two powerful shots, blasting the two remaining Saiyans, from the box formation they had been using to surround him, directly in the face.

As they dropped to the ground, it was clear to all watching Vegeta had just claimed two more victims, only the whites of their eyes were visible.

The five remaining Saiyans stopped in their tracks, waiting for one of the others to make a move, not wanting to have to bare the brunt of the injured, but obviously still fearsome Vegeta on their own.

On Earth the hunt for the Dragon Balls was proceeding smoothly. When Krillin and Trunks had heard that Bulma was already setting out to search for the Dragon Balls they insisted they be allowed to join in. Not only that but King Chappa and the other survivors pitched in as well.

Any minute now Krillin should be reporting in with the final ball in hand. This was a personal best by the group. 7 Dragon balls found in less than a day. Goku didn't mention the specifics, but by the way he was talking he had a plan, for something big.

The obvious idea was that he would use the second wish to bring his missing son back after all these years. Finally admitting defeat on his nearly decade long search. As she was thinking about the situation she got the call she had been waiting for though, Krillin had found the last ball and was bringing it back to the lookout.

'Well whatever Goku is planning we'll find out soon enough.' She thought to herself as her jet-copter lifted off the ground and launched into the sky.

Carro and Kadrat's plan to defeat Vegeta had been good, at least they thought it had been. But all attempts to wear down the Saiyan Prince had proven fruitless. Even now a mere shell of himself Vegeta had managed to take out 8 of the 10 warriors. The fight had stretched out so long though that the first of their team to fall had already begun to revive. So far, they were hesitating to rejoin the fight, knowing full well if they managed to kill Vegeta he would simply revive, and it was clear that at full power Vegeta would make their days a literal living hell.

"Come...on...bring it…" Vegeta managed to say between raspy breaths.

Carro and Kadrat each looked at one another, they were equally beaten and bloodied. Only 3 good arms and two good legs between them.

"Fine whatever! You're mine!" Carro shouted as he rushed forward.

Although he was more tired than he ever remembered feeling, Vegeta allowed a slight smirk to cross his lips.

As Carro closed half the distance between them Vegeta quickly charged up a small yellow ball in his hands and fired it at Carro's face.

The large, hobbled Saiyan was forced to stop and parry with his one good hand.

As soon as he batted the attack away though Vegeta was already in front of him, moving in while hidden behind his attack.

Carro's eyes widened, he had made a rookie mistake.

Kadrat was rushing in trying to get into position to intercept Vegeta, but he was too late. Vegeta already had a second attack prepared in his other hand, which he promptly used to vaporize Carro's head before he could muster any sort of defense.

Kadrat arrived just a moment too late, landing a powerful blow to the side of Vegeta's face. Unfortunately for him, he was in nearly as bad of shape as the Saiyan Prince, and his attack barely budged Vegeta's head.

"That's the best you have left?" Vegeta asked pushing his face further against Kadrat's hand, a tired, but victorious sneer crossing Vegeta's lips.

Kadrat's end was swift and brutal as Vegeta punched clean through the exhausted warriors' stomach, before blasting out his back.

Finally, with his attackers vanquished, he decided he was calm enough to head over to the Saiyan city once more.

After flying for a few minutes, it became clear Nappa had started in a different part of hell than the last time he had arrived. It didn't take him long to pick up the cluster of elevated power levels that made up the Saiyan City.

It had taken several hours of flying, but he had finally arrived. Like last time, his presence immediately garnered a lot of attention. Even with a sprawling metropolis like this, once you spend a few centuries stuck together you usually noticed anyone noteworthy.

Nappa b-lined it straight for the palace, since he could still sense Latice's presence. One major change he noticed from last time though was the fact that the Saiyans from his time had been allowed into the city, the downside it seemed, they had been pressed into service as the lowest cast of Saiyan society not exactly what he had planned when Cepa had agreed she would look out for the weaker Saiyans, but he supposed it was the best he could ask for given the circumstances.

When he arrived, he was surprised to find Cepa's energy emanating from her throne room. Vegeta had told him of her and Slug being locked in constant combat.

Immediately as he approached the doors two guards appeared to block his way.

"I'm here to see Cepa. We met not too long ago, I'm sure she remembers me. I'm the guy who transformed fighting in the arena for her." He said flatly

"We'll see if her highness has any interest meeting with someone as weak as you." One of the guards said before swiftly entering the throne room.

He returned a second later with an irritated look on his face. "Go ahead...she'll see you now.

When Nappa entered the room Cepa was watching him closely. "Ah, so you really did die this time. I hope you bring some interesting news at least, I got bored of Slug a few days ago and let him roam free for a while. He really is a dull opponent. Doesn't really learn from his mistakes very fast and all that." She said a disappointed look on her face. "Anyway, that's not important. How much progress have you made? Did any of the other Saiyans survive whatever killed you?" Cepa had a dozen other questions she wanted to ask but for now she was going to hold her tongue. She had eternity to wait after all.

"I...don't know. Vegeta died before me, but there were two others still alive. I doubt they would have won without us though." Nappa said irritated. "But I guess I did transform before the end." Nappa added

Cepa's curiosity was peaked. "Transform you say? Like the fake transformation Vegeta achieved or…"

Nappa smirked slightly, "Like this." He effortlessly transformed into his Super Saiyan state and began channeling his energy, remembering the way he felt right before he achieved the transformation the first time. After a slight effort it began, lightning arced off his body.

Cepa watched her eyes wide at the progress the Saiyan General had made over the last two years. She never thought it possible that someone his age, having only just reached the first state a few years ago, would achieve a level on a select few of the Saiyan race had ever achieved.

"And you were in this form when you died?" She asked, with bated breath.

"Yes...that bastard played with us…" Nappa snarled, his anger beginning to rise again.

"Interesting, I can't wait till he gets down here." She said with a smirk. "But in the meantime, why don't we have a spar. It's been awhile since I had a chance to fight a new Ascended Super Saiyan."

"Sure." Nappa said, "Bring it on."

The fight itself was a short one for Nappa. Cepa played around for a few minutes testing the capabilities of the larger Saiyan before turning serious for just a moment, complete trashing him in a matter of seconds.

After Nappa's body regrew Cepa couldn't help but ask. "So how did I compare?" She asked.

It took Nappa a second to realize who she was talking about. "You mean to Cell?" He asked.

"Yeah." She replied.

"He was just toying with us until the end, but I think you're still stronger. It's probably pretty close though." Nappa replied.

"Interesting. Why don't you tell me more about this Cell?" She asked before nodding back to the palace. "I'm sure Latice would enjoy seeing you as well."

When got back to the throne room he found Latice waiting for him, apparently in the same position of servitude she had been in the last time they had met. 'Yeah...she got me with that deal…' He said thinking back to the agreement he had made with the Saiyan ruler.

After embracing his wife again, Cepa began to grow impatient. "Let's get started." With that Nappa began to explain the events leading up to his demise.

Cell had been raging for hours. Lashing out at every pitiful creature that dared to show its face in his presence. He still couldn't believe this had happened to him. Not only had Goku and the others actually found a way to kill him, but what's worse, Goku had been there to personally assure he couldn't escape his fate. Now here he was trapped in hell, if he was trapped here though he was going to make sure it was only truly hell for the other denizens.

While ripping the legs off a screaming purple alien of some sort, Cell sensed a familiar power source. 'Nappa…' The Saiyan General had proved one of his greatest foes while on Earth, and in this setting might make the perfect punching bag to get rid of some of his fury. In a way by punishing Nappa he could punish all the Z Fighters, at least until they wish the General back that is. There was something else he could feel too though, a massive unfamiliar energy.

With his curiosity piqued Cell lifted into the sky, stopping just long enough to place a deadly blast between the eyes of his still wailing victim Cell took off towards the Saiyan metropolis.

The dozen or so surviving members of the Z Fighter and the EDF had gathered on Kami's lookout to watch the Dragon rise. For half the group it was their first chance to see the mystical creature up close.

Across the world people stopped and stared as the sky went dark in the middle of the day and a massive glowing dragon made its appearance once more.

"You who have disturbed me from my sleep, speak your first wish and I shall grant it if it is within my power." Shenron said, his voice booming across the landscape.

When no immediate wish was made he spoke again. "You try my patience, speak your wish."

"Oh man, how to best word this wish…" Bulma mumbled outload. She wanted to make sure all of her friends were brought back, but at the same time avoid bringing the androids or Cell back as well.

"What I thought you had this figured out." Krillin said suddenly nervous at angering the giant dragon.

"Um well...not exactly…" She said as she put her advanced mind to the task. In a second she had it planned out. "Alright let's try this. "Shenron we wish that you bring back everyone who died fighting against Cell and the Androids back to life." After she finished saying it, she felt sort of foolish that she didn't immediately think of it. Talking to Shenron was always an intimidating task.

"It shall be done." The giant dragon said as his eyes began to glow.

"What is your second wish?" He said.

"Um just a moment, we're waiting for someone else to show up to make the wish." Trunks said somewhat sheepishly.

"You are trying my patience." Shenron repeated again. In the end though he didn't have to wait long as Goku teleported in as soon as he had finished speaking.

"Hey guys!" Goku hollered. "Thanks for working so fast to bring me back!" He cheerily called.

"Hey it's good to see you too, but we're kind of in a hurry." Krillin said point to the irritated Dragon floating behind him.

"Oh yeah! Right I'm on it." He said confidently as he turned to the dragon. "Shenron could you bring my brother Raditz and cousin...uhm…. Oh yeah Turles back to life?" Goku asked, rubbing his head sheepishly for almost forgetting half of his wish.

"It will be done." Shenron said as his eyes glowed red again. "Farewell." He added as he vanished, the Dragon Balls going their separate ways once more.

All around him the Z Fighters were shocked. They had all at least part of the story as to what had happened the last time Raditz was on Earth. Some even being there to see it themselves.

"Are you nuts!" Krillin shouted. "What are you thinking bringing him back. He killed you last time Goku!"

"I know, I know. But he knows where Gohan is. We have to work fast. Sorry guys, I'll see you all later." Goku said as he vanished, going straight to otherworld to pick up his navigators.

As Goku vanished across the planet the dead were coming back to life, returned to the places they had died.

"Videl" Trunks muttered to himself as he immediately took to the air.

In the middle of the battlefield strewn among the dead bodies, two very confused people sat up. "18? What happened?" 17 asked his sister who looked equally as dazed.

"I don't know...the last I remember Cell had his tail and…" She trailed off not wanting to relive that disgusting memory.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" Vegeta's voice called out behind them as the Saiyan Prince ignited into his Super Saiyan state.

"Do you really want to try fighting us again Vegeta?" 17 asked confident in his abilities to best the Saiyan Prince.

"I think you'll find I'm in a whole nother league than the last time we fought." Vegeta said cracking his neck.

Something about the situation had 18 completely unnerved. There was definitely something different about Vegeta this time.

Before she could say anything though Nappa had arrived too, followed by Cooler and Piccolo.

Facing off against four of the most dangerous Z fighters at once was too much of a threat for even 17's tastes and he immediately had second thoughts about facing Vegeta again.

"Look, we don't want any trouble. Dr. Gero was forcing us to fight you. You already punished us enough by sicking that freak on us." 18 said the bad feeling in the pit of her stomach only growing.

"Too bad for you-" Vegeta started to say before Piccolo cut him off.

"Vegeta, drop it. They aren't the only to have been made to fight on someone else's orders." Piccolo said, pointing out Vegeta's time with the Planet Trade.

"That's different I-" Vegeta started to say before even Nappa cut him off.

"Come on Vegeta, just let it go. They aren't worth the effort anymore." The Saiyan General said. Neither Android was a threat to them anymore.

Vegeta looked like he was about to explode on Nappa but decided against it. "Fine, but if they slip up once I'm destroying them both personally." He said before taking to the air furious at the whole exchange. Nappa immediately lifted off following him.

"You heard him. Keep yourselves out of trouble." Piccolo said before nodding to Cooler and they both took to the air. Leaving the two Androids somewhat confused as to what they were supposed to do next.

"Goku what have you done!" King Kai shouted as soon as Goku arrived to pick up his relatives.

"I'm sorry King Kai, but I can't wait. Every minute I spend here is another minute something terrible could happen to Gohan." With that he turned to the others. "Ready to go?" When both nodded he had each place a hand on his shoulder and he took off.

In an icy cave near the north pole, a very special package had just arrived. "Yes...this is perfect...with this Dr. Wheelo's body would finally be perfect." Dr. Kochin said holding the small fly containing the genetic sample from Perfect Cell. Wasting no time, he got to work, inserting it into the embryo Dr. Gero had provided them several years ago.

In the meantime, Dr. Wheelo continued to analyze the film from Cell's last struggle. He would learn from the previous holder of this body's mistakes. Then once that was done, he could truly begin his reign as the uncontested, perfect ruler of the Earth.

Hey everyone! I managed to get it done right on schedule. In case any of you haven't checked my profile since the last update, I had been worried I wasn't going to get this done in time because of of apartment drama, mostly in the form of the one they were trying to have me move into had a ton of water damage and mold in it...so that wasn't very fun. Put me a whole week behind, but I still somehow managed to get it done a few days ahead of schedule, which ended up being really good because the next few days are going to be crazy again. Hopefully the progression of the chapter flows well it was a bit rushed in some areas.

I'm not sure when the next update will be since I will be starting classes in just a few days and I'm expecting grad school to be a lot tougher than under grad, I'll still do my best to keep everyone updated on my profile on the chapter's progress and if I am expecting any major delays.

Reviews:

RKF22 - Yes he was! Thanks for the review

Luke - Glad you enjoyed it! That means a lot that the effort is appreciated! :) For sure, I'll keep putting out the best work I am able to. I hope it always at least meets everyones expectations :). You are very much welcome :) Thanks again for the review!

DarkFalconZ -

Goku is very strong, but i'm not sure he is permanent eraser level yet. I see that as more high ssj2 or ssj3 tier. There are some characters that will be in some culture shock soon that will knock them down a peg or two ;) Thanks again for the review, glad you enjoyed it

Yes it was, I was working double time to make sure I could get that arc finished and the next started before I started classes. Yeah he ended up going through a ton of extra trauma that kept bumping him up.

That would've been a good ending, I just needed an ending to the arc which resulting in Goku's death. His meeting that happened this chapter has been planned since the very beginning of the story. Yes you have been, the repercussions of that combo, as shown are a bit more severe than in say DBS. He likely could give her a good beating, it would likely turn him to ash again in the process. The way I picture it is Super Saiyan itself is a form that accesses an energy that the body is by no means used to. To pull more power from that for an extended period of time, like an all out fight, would do severe damage to the body.

Yes it is my belief that Ssj2 works the same as Ssj1. How I have it set up is that the base form and any previous forms plauteu until you unlock that next level, then all the forms can grow again. I think that is the most consistent with what we saw towards the end of DBZ and throughout GT (Which is the systems I used when I first planned out this story.) Goku was fighting people he claimed to be almost Majin Buu levels in his base form in GT after all.

Long awaited for one, and long dreaded for the other (if he knew it was coming). Goku transforming could potentially happen at any moment. He could've done that, if Chi Chi was awake that would probably be exactly what happened, since Goku has an almost golden ticket to finding him now though he goes with an alternate he can find him on his own it helps him get over losing Gohan somewhat. I know I've teased everyone a few times before but I think at this point it's obvious a reunion is near, maybe not next chapter near but very very soon. I've been excited about the upcoming arc since the very beginning to hopefully it will have all been worth the wait.

Thanks again for the review, hopefully I answered all your questions.

ImmortalGodd - Thanks for the review. That would be an interesting possibility. There are a few ways the pairing could go. I had it nailed down for a few years but lately I've been second guessing my original decision because there is a pairing that might work better for the finale...so we'll have to see what I decide on that. I'm glad you like Broly, I thought he should've had more screen time (Like a lot of people, enough that they finally caved and are making him canon lol). His story isn't quite done yet in this story either.

Cjbeast3000 -I'm glad you enjoyed it! That's exactly what I designed that scene after, so he definitely can come back. I don't do the times 50 style. I follow the Bringer of Death idea that it is a additive boost instead of multiplicative. Thanks for the review, hope you liked this one too.

super mystic gohan - Yeah Cell was as close to victory as he could've gotten and still lost. I'm glad you enjoyed the finale. He was in for a bit of a shock :). They weren't dead long. Hopefully you like this next arc just as much. This arc has been a long time coming.

Guest - I'm glad you are enjoying it. You don't have to worry about that. I am going to do everything possible to make sure it gets done. I also try to keep everyone updated if there will be delays in any chapters on my profile page if that helps.

serus black antihumannature - Thank you hope you enjoyed this one too

Thomas-The-TMC - Thank you for the reviews! I'm glad you enjoyed the twists in the Gohan-Broly fight :) I try and update as often as I can, there are some big gaps in my update schedule though. My first year and a half I did every two weeks but since then it has been closer to 3 weeks to a month between updates. I think I am up to three different gaps of 2 months so far too, which drives me nuts when I have to wait that long to update but school and work comes first. I hope you enjoyed this chapter as well.

Silas (Chapter 8) - I know it will be a while before you see this, but since I can't message you I'll just leave this here. Thanks for the review! You are in for a wild ride, if I do say so myself, so I hope you enjoy it :)

Well till next time everyone! I know it was a bit slower of a chapter but I hope you all enjoyed it.
