AN: Here we go, for the LAST CHAPTER of this fanfic! Don't worry, I plan on making a sequel based on the life of the Smashers afterward. The Lucas Trailer wraps up this wonderful story!
"I'd like to go back after three weeks," Lucas hesitated, but really wanted to spend time in his home world once more. Once he was back in the Nowhere Islands, a very peaceful place now, Lucas didn't want to go back.
Master Hand sighed on the other side of the line. He spoke into the phone. "I can't blame you Lucas. I know how much you miss your home. Yes, I will let you stay for three more weeks. But I won't tell everybody! It'll be a surprise."
"Thank you, Master Hand!" Lucas sounded cheerful, and MH smiled too (well, how does he smile?).
Three weeks later…
Somehow, for Ness, it seemed impossible to do a thing without thinking about his very best friend, Lucas.
"If only he hadn't left," Ness sighed miserably, slumping down against a tree in the garden. The sun was high in the sky, and many clouds, like puffs of cotton, slowly rolled by.
"What's wrong?" Toon Link walked up to the somewhat depressed PSI boy. "Is it Lucas?"
Ness nodded slowly. "I miss him. We were so close together!"
Toon Link sighed. Personally, he also missed his friend very much too. The trio was the best of friends.
Suddenly, the announcer outside the mansion turned on.
"Probably some daily announcement or something," Ness grumbled as he started to ignore it.
Master Hand spoke. "We have one last trailer everybody! Sorry for the late notice, but please meet at the Film Room in fifteen minutes. I'll explain everything once we get there."
"Another smasher?" Toon Link stared in disbelief. "I thought Master Hand was done getting newcomers by now!"
Ness shrugged. "Let's go anyway." He trudged indoors, following Toon Link.
At the Film Room
"So, everybody's here, so I can tell you all what happened," Master Hand glanced around, seeing everybody was present. "The thing was, the Smasher was quite busy and I promised that they would be able to wait a little longer. Originally, they were supposed to come the day after Ryu came, remember?"
Everybody nodded.
"But today, that Smasher's coming," Master Hand glanced at Ness for a slight second, but Ness was apparently staring at the ground. He must feel so bad, but I can't wait to see how he reacts with this!
"Let's head on in!"
The Film Begins!
The film starts out on a planet, belonging to the Mushroom Kingdom. There is a distant ship faraway. On the planet, there are yellow and blue flowers, and a white fence, which encloses a white house with two windows, and a blue roof.
Ness and Mario are fighting. The PSI user tries to attack, but Mario whips out his yellow cape. Ness ends up getting burned, earning the perfect opportunity for Mario to punch Ness upwards.
A rather sad music sounds through the room.
In the boxing ring, Little Mac punches Ness, who flies high to the right with a "Waaaah!"
Then, it shows Wario chewing on Ness. It seemed dreadful. Wario chomped on Ness once again.
In Palutena's Temple, Ness attempts to shield, but his shield has gotten too small. Marth stabs straight forward at Ness, breaking the shield.
The scene moves on to Smashville, where there is a flowing river running through the town. Many houses lay in the distance under a peaceful setting/rising sun.
There, Ness tries to use PK Thunder to recover on the ledge (though he's so close to it he could have grabbed it!), but the Villager, with a red shirt and black pants, absorbs the PK Thunder energy, leaving Ness to fall to his doom. The Villager, on the other hand, uses his balloons and flies up to safety.
In a Fire Emblem Stage, Robin, the male tactician, uses his Nosferato on Ness, draining out the young boy's energy. Black energy flows around Ness as Robin traps him.
In a different stage, against DK, Ness tries to hop back up the ledge, but with a heavy slam downwards from the ape, Ness is sent hurtling down, resulting in being KO'd.
Then, it shows Ness flying back. "Waoohh!" he lands on the ground. It certainly didn't seem to be a good day for him as Bowser stepped up, roared. However, he had a high amount of damage too, seeing the smoke rise up from the Koopa King.
"That describes perfectly about how I feel today," Ness sighs.
The Smashers all nod, understanding that Ness still felt sad since his best friend left. Ever since, Ness was less positive and happy than before.
Bowser dashed and was about to knock Ness off the platform, possibly KO'ing him.
But at the last moment, the screen turns black.
"PK Fire!" A familiar voice shouts out of the blue.
"What?" Ness jolted up from the familiar voice. "It can't be… I thought…"
A blast burns Bowser as he's about to hit Ness. Bowser is sent flying a good distance away (probably because he had a high amount of damage already).
Someone lands in front of Ness in the scene. The person looked familiar. One could see part of a shirt, which was red and yellow. The person also had blue jean shorts and red and yellow sneakers with white socks.
Ness gets up slowly, supposedly still dazed. The boy in front of him is so familiar, it's shocking. The boy has a smile on his face, has a yellow and red striped shirt, and blonde hair.
As soon as Ness gets up, he seems shocked. Lucas jumps up, leaving Ness behind, performing a mid-air kick.
Lucas Comes out of Nowhere!
"LUCAS!" the veteran kid Smashers all shrieked in surprise, realizing that their friend had come back. Everyone stared at the kids.
"How could that be?" Ness was dumbfounded, mostly silent.
Many of the veterans were still shocked. Lucas was coming back.
"I thought Lucas quit this tournament…"
The music had changed.
On a battlefield in space, Ness jumps off of some walking table (?) thing. He then taunts, putting his fingers to his forehead, PSI hexagons sparking from them. He dashes off.
He can then be seen attacking Little Mac in a bluish temple. Little Mac tries to attack, but Lucas swings upward, then sweeps downward, kicking the boxer off into the air.
Against Bowser Jr., Lucas shoots out a PSI hexagon, which stops the Koopaling from running into him.
Moving on, Lucas skids to a stop as Megaman does his down smash, fire blasting from his cannons, then grabs the blue robot with his trusty red rope snake, and flings him into the ground. Then, Lucas blasts him up, and Lucas finishes off with a PSI hexagon attack, somersaulting.
In a lava stage, Captain Falcon does a Falcon Punch to the right, while Lucas summons a PK Freeze. The attack hits Captain Falcon, which temporary puts the F-Zero driver in the frozen state.
In Luigi's Haunted Mansion (it seemed as if half of the mansion had collapsed already), Lucas shoots a PK Fire at Duck Hunt. A pixilated cowboy was there to protect the duo, but the fiery blast also ended up hitting the duo, blasting them off into the air.
In the boxing ring, against Charizard, Charizard does a Rock Smash, and PK Thunder, from Lucas, hits Charizard from a distance away, blasting the orange dragon away.
Rosalina and Lucas are then in a match in a tower stage. A bomb is closeby, but remains untouched. Lucas flips, kicking the Luma guardian, using PSI hexagons as well. Then, Lucas uses his PK Thunder (the one which helps him boost upward, not the small projectile one) to hit Rosalina several times. The ball of energy racks up some damage before fully disappearing.
In the same scene as before, when Lucas had hopped off of that walking table thing, Lucas absorbed Lucas's green fireball with a PSI Magnet. Lucas healed a little from that. Then, Luigi decides to use his Green Missile attack on Lucas, but Lucas manages to send Luigi flying back a bit by releasing his shield.
In a fight against some other enemy (not a Smasher, I am mostly sure it is Tabuu- I don't play SSB4 because I don't have the game, I only play SSBB), Lucas uses PK Thunder to launch himself into the black, evil, enemy. Then, Lucas twirls down, the fingers on both of his hands crossed while doing so.
In the same stage before when fighting Bowser Jr., Lucas lands on the ground, with his PSI magnet on. He protects Ness, who is in that dizzy mode, while he heals himself with Bowser's flame attack.
Lucas, with a Franklin Badge, then lands on the ground in a strange place with green and tan walls after getting hurt. Beside him, there is another Lucas, with a little sprite on his dark gray shirt with lighter gray stripes. Lucas's skin is paler and he has dark gray hair, orange shorts, dark gray socks, and lighter gray shoes (a lot of gray there!). The Lucas in the gray costume is holding up a red sword, and was the probable cause of why Lucas was lying there on the ground.
The scene then changes, revealing Lucas, who taps the tip of his left foot, waiting for Villager, who is riding on his Pushy Lloid Projectile, some tan colored missile with a ghost-like face on it. Lucas then uses his bat (side smash) and quickly swipes the Lloid Rocket thing, reflecting the projectile back to the right. If Villager doesn't come off of that rocket soon, Villager would be sent out of bounds (and would be KO'd).
Lucas is then seen interacting with this strange snake frog. The thing had a green body, with a white underbelly, and a golden collar with a pink cape thing attached. The head was frog-like, and it had a smile, with white cheeks. The blonde PSI user sends out his rope snake.
At a castle in Megaman's world, Lucas delivers a strong attack, using PSI hexagons, which KO's Olimar. Olimar and his Pikmins were sent flying downwards, while Lucas was able to jump back up to the platform.
Lucas is then running, when Sonic suddenly dashes at a much faster speed than the boy. The boy trips, and shakes his head as he falls on his bottom.
Ness and Lucas are in another battlefield, teaming up against Shulk, who is shielding himself. Ness throws in some punches at the shield, and then Lucas throws Mr. Saturn, a strange creature, which breaks Shulk's shield. Shulk flies up in his air, with his shield being broken, dizzy. At the last second, Ness throws in a taunt, bowing towards the screen.
Next, the female Wii fit Trainer and Diddy Kong are hit by Lucas's powerful up smash, which KO's both of them.
The music changes as Lucas uses his Rope Snake to tether onto a ledge a little higher than him. Clinging on, Lucas swings back and forth.
Lucas is seen struggling to do a pull up on the ledge and Mr. Saturn walks up to him, stopping. It seemed as if Mr. Saturn wanted to see what Lucas was doing at the moment.
There is a line of Lucas' and Ness' in all of their different costumes. It goes in a pattern: Lucas, then Ness, then Lucas, then Ness.
After that, Lucas interacts with his rope snake, next to a plate of Super Spicy Chili. DK lays to the right, somewhat dazed. Lucas shrugs as the Rope snake seems to talk to him.
The second to last scene is showing the Onett stage, where Lucas runs up to Claus (well, it's just a costume of Lucas that looks like his brother).
Finally, the scene wraps up in a background of space. The Earth and Sun are in the background, while there are many stars and there are some comets flying by. Lucas swings his right arm around slowly, using a bit of his PSI powers. It appears to be a taunt.
The screen fully darkens, with the film ending.
After the Film
"Lucas is really going to come back!" Toon Link says excitedly. "It must have been a joke!"
"We were certainly fooled by that," Samus admits, laughing.
Ness smiles, feeling better that his friend was coming back to Smash. "He fooled me, and I really thought he was going to quit the tournament!"
The doors opens, and everybody sees Master Hand gently nudge a boy in.
"Lucas!" Ness yells, overjoyed, hugging his best friend. Many stare at him in confusion (those were the newcomers), while the veterans all smile (knowing that Ness was so glad to have his friend back in Smash). "I've missed you so much!"
Lucas hugs back. "I just wanted to see my homeland for a bit without missing out of the tournament. I did trick you all, right?"
"Yeah," Popo nods as he walks up.
"We're glad you're back!" Fox grins, welcoming Lucas back, many others doing the same.
Perhaps things wouldn't be too bad anymore, Ness smiles happily as the veterans welcome him and the newcomers introduce themselves. Lucas and I are back together again!
They all walk back, and the kid Smashers can't wait to spend time with their dear friend, all overjoyed that he was back in the tournament.
