It was PM and Sonny still hadn't heard anything from Will. He promised to call tomorrow and Sonny really hoped that would happed. He couldn't let this thing with Paul ruin what he and Will had.
Paul was part of his past, he was over him. At first he may have been a little confused, when he seen Paul all these old thoughts and memories came rushing back but after his fight with Will, and
knowing he may possibly lose him over this he now knew he was defiantly over Paul. He was falling in love with Will. He was falling in love with Ari too. The life the three of the could have excited Sonny more than anything Paul could offer him. He may be rushing things but when you know something is right you go for it. You take that leap and hope you land on your feet. If he didn't he was pretty sure Will would catch him. He sat on his couch staring at his phone and decided he needed to start towards the cliff now. He unlocked it and open his last conversation with Will.
Hey.-S
He stared at his phone for another five minutes before he decided he needed to do something before he went crazy, so he grabbed his keys and headed to the coffee house, he could do a little work before Tee ball practice.
I miss you so much, I'm so sorry, lets talk about this. I love you... Will read the message and deleted it. He couldn't tell Sonny he loved him in a text and he couldn't forgive him that easily.
He lied to him, and he lied for a reason. Sonny said he didn't want to hurt him but lying hurt him even more then the truth would. It would have been nice to know Sonny was engaged before they started their relationship. He knew Sonny was serious with previous boyfriends but he just didn't know how serious. He decided not to send Sonny a text and just try to talk to him at Ari's practice.
"Sonny!" Ari yelled as her teacher lead her and her teammates over to the baseball field.
"Hey Ari!" Sonny said smiling at her he hated giving any kids special treatment but he couldn't help it with her.
"I missed you!" Ari said as she rushed toward him throwing her arms around him.
"I missed you too sweetheart." Sonny laughed hugging her.
"I was worried we wouldn't be best friends anymore."
"Never" Sonny said as he released her.
"Ari's only friend is a grown up" McKenzie laughed.
"McKenzie! Do you want to spend the rest of the afternoon in my office?" Ms. Jenkins asked
"No ma'am"
"Your just mad because I have a best friend who likes me!" Ari yelled back
"I have lots of best friends who like me, and I have a mommy who loves me!"
"My mommy loves me!" Ari yelled tears filling her eyes.
"No she doesn't!"
"Okay okay enough!" Sonny yelled.
"McKenzie that's it. Practice is canceled for you. Follow me." Ms. Jenkins said before apologizing to Sonny.
As McKenzie and Ms. Jenkins walked away Ari stuck her tongue out at her.
"Arianna!" Sonny yelled. "Everyone pick a partner and grab a ball. It's passing time. Except you Ari you're going to sit here for five minutes"
"But I thought we were friends!" Ari yelled at Sonny.
"You can't fight with other people." Sonny said
"I am not your friend anymore!" Ari said stomping over to the bench.
When passing practice was over Sonny invited Ari to practice her hitting but she refused. She continued to sit on the bench by herself while Sonny helped the other kids.
"Hello" A strange women said sitting next to Ari.
"Hi." Ari responded looking up at her the women looked familiar but Ari couldn't remember who she was.
"How come your sitting over here all by yourself?" The women asked
"I'm not suppose to talk to strangers." Ari replied moving further down the bench.
"Were not strangers. I'm friends with your daddy. In fact I know your daddy's whole family, and your uncle Rafe."
"You do?" Ari asked
"Yes sweetheart I haven't seen you in a very long time."
"What's your name?"
"My name is Josephina" Gabi said giving her middle name.
"I'm Arianna." Ari responded.
"I know baby." Gabi said tears pooling in her eyes.
"Hey!" Sonny yelled running over towards the two.
"I have to go Ari, but I'll see you again soon." Gabi said before running away.
"Ari who was that?" Sonny asked when he reached her
"It was my friend." Ari said looking away from Sonny
"You know you aren't suppose to talk to people you don't know."
"I do know her! She is my new best friend." Ari yelled getting up and walking away.
"Arianna!" Sonny called after her just as parents started to arrive including Will. He looked at Sonny confused about the situation.
"Ari, what's going on sweetheart?" Will asked kneeling down in front of his daughter. She had her arms folded and a mad scowl on her face.
"I am not friends with Sonny anymore!" Ari informed him matter of factly
"Why not?" Will asked
"He wouldn't let me practice today"
"What's going on?" Will asked looking to Sonny.
"Arianna and McKenzie were fighting. McKenzie went back to Ms. Jenkins class and I had Ari sit out. I'll explain more in a minute I need to get back to the other kids." Sonny said just as a women
came marching toward him
"Where is my daughter?" Mrs. Thompson McKenzie's mother asked walking over to Sonny and giving Will a disgusted look.
"McKenzie is in the classroom with Ms. Jenkins." Sonny informed
"Why?" Ms. Thompson McKenzie's mother asked, anger in her tone.
"Cause she is a butt face!" Ari yelled.
"Arianna!" Will scolded.
"Typical behavior for a little girl in her situation." Ms. Thompson said
"Excuse me?" Will asked
"A little girl being raised by a queer is going to act out. She will never be able to act like a proper young lady."
"Ms. Thompson! I don't think that is appropriate around the children." Sonny said
"I don't think it's appropriate to have this man around the children. Gay men should not be allowed anywhere near our children!"
"Well if that's the way you feel then I think it's best that McKenzie not play on this team anymore."
"Are you serious? You are going to kick my daughter off the team instead of getting rid of the fag?"
"Ms. Thompson if we got rid of all the fags then your daughter wouldn't have a coach." Sonny said politely.
"What?" Ms. Thompson asked in disbelief. "Your a queer too? How can the school have someone like you coaching a sport with children! That is disgusting and inexcusable!"
"No what's disgusting is you, and the fact that you were allowed to reproduce and spread your hate." Will said
"I will be speaking with the school board about this." Ms. Thompson said storming away.
"She is a butt face too!" Ari yelled
"Arianna Grace!" Will scolded
"Well she is!"
"She may be, but it is still not polite to call people's name." Will said
"Fine! Can we leave, I don't want to be here anymore." Arianna said glaring at Sonny.
"What has gotten into you young lady?" Will asked shocked at his daughters behavior.
"Sonny, wouldn't let me practice, so I'm mad at him." She said crossing her arms.
"He was just being fair sweetheart." Will said "Just like when I put you in time out."
"I'm sorry Ari, I didn't mean to make you mad at me." Sonny said bending down next to her.
"Fine!" Ari said throwing her hands in the air. "But you need to take me for ice cream."
"Not tonight Arianna. You misbehaved today and ice cream is a treat and you have not earned it." Will said
"But daddy!"Ari whined
"How about this. If you behave the rest of this week, we can have a date this weekend. Ice cream included." Sonny said
"Yay!"
"Is that okay with you?" Sonny asked Will looking up.
"Only if I can come on the date too."
"Of course."
