BELONGS TO STEPHENIE MEYER ... !

I grip Alice tighter to me. I barely know her but I feel the unconscious need to protect her. All she has left is me. I almost laugh, I would have laughed if the situation wasn't so serious. I am beyond broken. I can't let her become the same.

' Pretty ' said the voice again. I swivel around, ready to face the strangers, afraid of what I might see.

I see two humans, and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

I need to think, I scream internally as Alice clings to me sobbing.

I open my mouth as if to speak, but no words come out. The blonde haired man with a pony tail starts laughing as he eyes me up. I cringe in disgust.

Then suddenly the other man speaks ' Hurry up James, the princes are on their way, if they see us doing this... '

He is cut off ' They are not going to see anything. '

' Do you think they are imprints? '

' No vampires barely leave their mates alone, let alone in the woods when it's dark, without protection. '

James takes a step forward and I unconsciously take a step backwards, taking Alice with me.

Before they could take another step the voices of men could be heard getting louder and the sound of hooves.

' I told you James to hurry up, lets get out of here. ' He replies angrily.

I pray silently that they would leave us alone.

' No I want her. ' His piercing grey eyes looking at me. He then glances at Alice, only for a moment as I step in front of her to shield her from his view.

Suddenly he is running at me and before I could react Alice is gone from my sight and James is holding me back as I try to run.

I try to run, kick, punch and scream my way out, but it's no use. He has a tight hold on me.

He speaks ' If you do as I say the girl will not be harmed but ... '

He leaves the sentence hanging and I imagine the worst.

I have to save Alice. ' Okay ' I reply. Having no other option but to listen.

The princes voices are getting louder. I suddenly realise that the princes are vampires.

I suck in a deep breath and try to control my emotions. The princes remove themselves from the horses and approach us, it is obvious that they are curious.

' Ahh, prince Jasper and Prince Emmett, how are you? ' They do not reply. I can feel their eyes on me.

' Who is this James? ' Prince Jasper asks in a tone that is meant to be authoritative.

' This is - Victoria ' James replies only hesitating for a slight moment. James bows low as I remain where I am.

I turn my head into disgust. Prince Emmett raises his hand a steps forward. ' It's a pleasure to meet you Victoria. ' I hold back the bile in my throat and just nod. Afraid to open my mouth, afraid that I'd say something I'd regret.

I hear a muffled scream in the distance. And I know that they heard it too by the way James freezes and Prince Jasper and Prince Emmett's face stiffen.

Before James can react any further I stand on his foot and knee him in the kidney before running in the direction of the scream. Running to Alice.

I feel pursuit behind me and I am suddenly locked in the embrace of Prince Jasper. Prince Emmett nowhere in sight. I thrash in his arms and physically repulse at his touch as I scream Alice's name, desperate to reach her an make sure she's okay.

He lets go shocked by my response. I carry on running and sigh in relief as I see Alice, however my relief doesn't last long as I see her on the ground sobbing.

The other man is gone and I know for a fact that Emmett took care of him, I feel a rush of gratitude for him before I realise he is still a vampire and still evil to the core.

I see him standing next to Alice. But Alice is still clearly terrifies as she moves away from him.

' Alice ' I whisper. Afraid of her response. She looks up and sees me, and then she's running towards me and in my arms in the next moment. Clinging to me like her life depends on it.

' Shh Alice ' I try to calm her down and it works as her sobbing slowly subsides. I do a once over to make sure she's not physically injured.

I shield her from Emmett's view just as Jasper appears. He glances at Emmett and they nod at each other. I don't think I was meant to see that.

He looks at me. ' Are you okay? ' he asks.

I'm afraid to answer, but my mother taught me better. I manage a small thank you. Jasper nods his head in reply.

' Is Alice okay? ' He asks. I feel Alice move at the mention of her name.

She looks from behind me, straight into the Jasper's sparkling blue eyes.

He freezes as their eyes make contact and smiles a beautiful smile. As I freeze in shock.
