Chapter 9: Danzo's Execution

Naruto and co. continued walking a few steps ahead, before they turned around to see the stunned looks on everyone's faces. "Hm? Something wrong?" Naruto asked, with an innocent smile on his face.

"Tell me you're not serious." Said Tsunade, with doubt in her voice. "This better not be a prank!" She said, raising her voice.

Naruto then took on a serious look, letting them knew that he was now serious. "I abided by your Council's wishes, and spared Danzo. On the Conditions that he give up his political power and disband the Foundation." Naruto answered.

"And he did." Said Shikaku.

"Officially, yes. But he didn't completely disband the Foundation. Sai's attempt on Hinata's and Konohamaru's lives, is proof of that. Also, I have a seal verbal confession from him as well. The scroll of that is with me." Naruto countered, shocking them.

"Wait. A verbal confession, in a scroll?" Tsunade asked, skeptically.

"Special Sealing Jutsu. No big deal. Anyway, I have Danzo with me. And since he's the only one who broke the deal... It'll only be his life that's taken today. So, order your shinobi to stay out of what happens next." Naruto answered, as he turned around to continue his way to the stadium floor.

Once he was out of sight, Gaara spoke. "Since this doesn't really concern me or my village, we won't be interfering. Not unless it comes to a fight." He and his siblings then continued on to their destination as well.

"What should we do, Lady Tsunade? Should we try and stop them, or do as he asks?" Shikaku asked.

Tsunade took a moment to think. *Sigh* "We'll ask for the evidence first, before we allow it. But, we'll have to keep our shinobi at bay. I'm sure Naruto won't argue if we ask for the evidence." Tsunade answered.

"Very well. I'll inform the shinobi then." Shikaku said.

"Don't worry about that. I'll get him to meet with myself and the Shinobi Council about this. Inform the Shinobi Council members that they're to meet, after the congratulations are over." Tsunade ordered.

Tsunade made it to the door that led to the stadium floor. She was somewhat surprised to see Naruto, Gaara and their companions there waiting for her. "I'd have figured you would've gone out there by now." She said.

"Well, it would be somewhat suspicious if we went out there without the Hokage. So, we decided to wait for you." Naruto replied.

"Actually, I suggested we wait for you Lady Hokage." Said Yusaku.

"Aaaww. Yusaku! Why'd you go ahead and say thaaaat?" Naruto complained. Yusaku and Natsu just laughed, at their leader's expense.

"Naruto." Said Tsunade, getting everyone's attention.

"Yea?"

"I'm not going to change your mind about Danzo. Since you have evidence to back up your claims. But, could you please bring this evidence before our Shinobi Council before going about this?" Tsunade asked.

"Hmmm." Naruto thought about Tsunade's request. *Sigh* "Alright. I'll present the evidence to you. Either way, he dies today." Said Naruto.

With that, they went through the door. As they came out the other side, Naruto was almost immediately taken to the ground by Hinata. But Naruto had managed to steady himself, as he returned Hinata's embrace.

-Sakura-

"Heh. It seems those two really are still together. Pretty romantic, with them being from different villages. Right, Sasuke?" Sakura asked, with a sly look.

"Tsk. Whatever. I'm more concerned with my promotion to Jounin, at the moment." Sasuke replied.

Sakura looked a bit fallen at Sasuke's response, but she quickly shook it off and replied. "Yea, I know. If it weren't for Naruto's help in the Kazekage's rescue, you could've been promoted."

"Yea. And now, I'm just a Chunin. And that loser is now the leader of his own village." Said Sasuke. Sakura didn't know how to respond to that. She loved Sasuke, but it seemed that he believed that he was somehow inferior to Naruto. "But... I'll have other chances to be a Jounin. And even Naruto can't be completely useless if he's able to keep his village together against one of the Five Great Nations."

Sasuke's words surprised Sakura, but caused her to smile slightly.

-Naruto-

After they hugged, they gave one another a quick kiss on the lips. "Congratulations, Hinata. That was amazing!" Said Naruto, with his face-splitting grin.

"Thank you, Naruto."

"Yes, congratulations on your victory. It was impressive." Said Gaara, coming up to join the couple.

"Thank you, Lord Kazekage. Are you doing alright?" Hinata asked.

Knowing what she was referring to, Gaara answered right away. "Yes. Thanks to you Leaf Ninja, and Naruto as well."

"Well, it has to go to Hinata more than me. If it wasn't for her, I never would've known what had happened." Said Naruto, giving Hinata his share of the credit and causing Hinata to blush.

"Naruto." Hinata thought.

"Congratulations, Hinata. No doubt you'll make a fine Chunin, and eventual Jounin." Said Tsunade, having had enough waiting for her turn to speak

"Th...thank you, Lady Hokage."

"Heh. Well, with that out of the way. We should head to our other business." Said Tsunade, as she started to leave.

Confused, Hinata turned to Naruto. Naruto just hugged her again, and whispered into her ear. "We're going to talk about Danzo's crimes. And by presenting evidence, he'll be executed today. Anyway, I'll see you later. I love you." Said Naruto.

"I love you too." She replied. She knew that Naruto didn't like people, but he'd do anything to protect her and anyone/anything that was precious to him. She herself felt the same way when it came down to these things.

"Then, I'll see you later. Bye, Hinata."

"Yes. Bye, Naruto." As Naruto turned to leave, Natsu and Yusaku gave Hinata a quick congratulations as well before following Naruto. Gaara and his sibling left, and began their journey home.

-Council Chambers-

Tsunade, the Elders and the Clan Heads were all present. And before them stood Naruto, Yusaka and Natsu. Deciding to get this over with, Tsunade began the meeting. *Sigh* "I suppose we should get this started. Lord Uzumaki, please start."

Giving a curt bow, Naruto spoke. "We're here to discuss Danzo's treason." The words spoken were simple to understand, but they caused a look of shock upon the faces of the Clan Heads. All but Shikaku's anyway.

"What do you mean by that, Lord Uzumaki?" Choza asked.

"Haven't you heard what Ran Moori said, when she was caught in Sai's jutsu?" Natsu asked, knowing the answer.

"But, those actions have no proof. And Sai is under Lady Hokage's command. That means there is no way that Sai would do such a thing." Said Asuma. Asuma had little choice but to take on the position of the Sarutobi Clan's head. Since his older brother had died during the last Great Ninja War, and his father, the Third Hokage, there was no one else more qualified. But it was necessary.

"So, you're calling a shinobi of my village a liar. And you're refusing to believe that Danzo couldn't have been the one behind this. Did you even know that Sai was a ROOT within the Foundation?" Naruto asked, causing Asuma to flinch at each statement/question.

Asuma didn't reply. "I should've thought before I spoke. I didn't even consider those two possibilities." Asuma thought. *Sigh* "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to imply such a thing. And I didn't even consider those possibilities."

"It's fine." Said Naruto, wanting to continue. "Anyway, I have evidence that Danzo was behind this. And while Sai made the decision to kill Hinata Hyuga and Konohamaru Sarutobi on his own, but I might be willing to be lenient on him. But, I won't show Danzo any more mercy."

"What kind of evidence, Lord Uzumaki?" Shibi asked.

"I'll show you." Naruto replied, pulling out two scrolls. He unrolled the first and unsealed what was inside. It was Danzo, in a kneeling position. Danzo's appearance shocked everyone in the room, it surprised everyone. "Alright, Danzo. Would you have condoned Sai's actions to kill Hinata Hyuga and Konohamaru Sarutobi?" Naruto asked.

"If it meant that either one of them were a traitor, then yes. I would've condoned such an act, even if I didn't hand Sai that order." Danzo replied, shocking everyone but the Hidden Whirlpool ninja.

"What the!? There's no way the real Danzo would confess to something like that so easily!" Inoichi yelled, standing to his feet. Tsunade had to agree with this.

"Danzo. Care to explain?" Naruto asked.

"This brat placed a seal on me that forces me to answer with nothing but the truth. I'm unable to resist." Danzo confessed, sneering every word that came out of his mouth.

"If you think that this is a Shadow-Clone, think again." Said Natsu, striking Danzo in the back of the neck. Said strike knocked him out.

It shocked them, not because he struck Danzo, but because he didn't vanish like a Shadow-Clone would. They had thought that it somehow was a Shadow-Clone, but they were just proven that it was the real Danzo. A 'Transformation Jutsu' also would've dispersed if it had been a fake Danzo. So now, they had no choice but to believe what they had heard.

"Naruto. About that other scroll." Shikaku began, finally coming to terms with what's happening. "I assume that's the scroll with Danzo's verbal confession recorded inside it?" He asked.

"Yes, it is. But it also has a certain extra sealed inside it." Naruto answered, confusing the Leaf Shinobi.

"And what would that be? Tsunade asked.

"The Sharingan eye of one Shisui Uchiha." Naruto replied.

"What!? That's impossible! How did you get it!?" Tsume yelled.

"Danzo had it implanted inside his right eye. It gave Lord Uzumaki a bit of trouble in their fight." Yusaku answered, confusing them once again. Deciding to elaborate, Yusaku continued. "Naruto sealed Danzo's movements and chakra, but he was willing to give Danzo a fair fight. As they fought, Danzo had used a jutsu known as 'Kotoamatsukami'. A jutsu known only to Shisui Uchiha, since it's part of his Mangekyou Sharingan. Luckily, Lord Uzumaki managed to overcome Danzo. Even despite that Danzo used the Uchiha's forbidden jutsu, the 'Izanagi'. He also has ten Sharingan implanted into his right arm. You can check that out from the scroll yourself."

The Hokage and her council were shocked. They never thought that Danzo would stoop so low. "Now, does anyone have any objections about me killing him now?" Naruto asked.

"You can't be serious!? You're willing cause and incident that will for our two villages to go to war?" Homura asked.

"HE TRIED TO KILL ME! KILL HINATA! AND KILL KONOHAMARU! ALL OF US LEAF NINJA! OR FORMER IN MY CASE! BY EVERY VILLAGE'S LAW, THAT MAKES HIM A TRAITOR!" Naruto yelled, causing Homura and Koharu to flinch. Even Tsunade and the Clan Heads shook their heads at the Elder's question. "And from my understanding, that warrants death. So if you want a war, then stop me!" He said, summoning some of the Nine-tails' chakra. Enough to bring forth the one-tailed state, showing them that's he's serious.

"Clever. There's no way they'll consider this a bluff. Too bad that it is a bluff, haha. Danzo will truly die today." Yusaku thought.

The ANBU quickly surrounded the three, ready to strike them down, but Yusaku and Natsu were in their battle stances. They were ready to defend themselves, knowing that the ANBU's weapons would have no effect against Naruto fox-cloak.

"ANBU, stand down!" Tsunade ordered.

"But, Lady Hokage! He's using the Nine-tailed Fox's chakra!" Said one of the ANBU.

"Are you disobeying a direct order!?"

The ANBU flinched, and proceeded to back off. But they wouldn't let their guard down.

*Sigh* "Nar... Lord Uzumaki. Do you mind If I examine the evidence? The eye and the arm at least." Tsunade requested. She really didn't want to anger Naruto at this point. They'd be doomed if he released anymore of the fox's chakra, and used it's power. And by extension, the Leaf Village as well.

Letting the fox's chakra recede, Naruto nodded. Upon his nod, Natsu picked up the scroll and handed it to Tsunade. Once Tsunade had the scroll, he retook his place beside Naruto. Tsunade had unraveled the scroll and unsealed Shisui's eye and Danzo's right arm.

Using her medical expertise, she examined the eye first. *Sigh* "No doubt about it. It's an Uchiha Sharingan, alright." She said, surprising most of the Shinobi Council. Even Koharu and Homura seemed surprised at this. Tsunade then unsealed the right arm and began examining it. Everyone was shocked to see so many Sharingan implanted into a single arm. It was sickening to say the least. As she examined the arm, she became angrier with every passing second. Everyone in the room could feel her anger.

Suddenly, and without warning, she smashed her fist against the table. Causing it to shatter into pieces. "THAT BASTARD DIDN'T JUST STEAL SHARINGAN! HE STOLE THE VERY CELLS FROM MY GRANDFATHER, THE FIRST HOKAGE!" She yelled, causing shock to everyone in the room. Her yelling had also awoken Danzo from his slumber. "Naruto! Go ahead and kill him!" She ordered, fully awakening Danzo.

Without hesitating, Naruto picked Danzo up and placed him back on his knees. "Good to know that you're awake. This way, you'll know that your death is coming." Said Naruto, unsheathing his sword. With one quick swipe, Naruto sliced through Danzo's neck. Killing him mercifully and quickly.

"He's lucky. I would've made his death a lot slower and a lot more painfully." Said Tsunade. "ANBU. Take this arm and destroy it, using Fire Style." Tsunade ordered. One of them appeared to follow his leader's order. Once the arm was gone, Tsunade stomp on Shisui's eye to ensure that it can't be used by anyone.

"In the confession, you'll hear Danzo say that he had let himself be Orochimaru's test subject to have that arm. We search through all of Orochimaru's hideouts, and destroyed anything concerning his data over the Leaf Village. We did this out of consideration for Lord Uzumaki's love for this village. Despite his love for his own village." Said Yusaku.

"And of the other villages?" Shikaku asked.

"Kept them for ourselves. But anything considered inhuman and beyond, we never touched. But, we kept them incase we ran into anything of Orochimaru's experiments." Natsu replied.

"So, you have a distinct advantage over many of the Five Great Shinobi Villages. Even without anything on us, information from the other for puts us in danger from you." Said Koharu.

"I don't want to hear anything coming from you two old geezers. You're just as guilty as Danzo is when it comes to me leaving the Leaf village. You only have yourselves to blame." Said Naruto, glaring at the two.

Flinching, the two decided to start holding their tongues. Knowing that what Naruto said was true.

"That's pretty clever. It seems Naruto matured mentally as well as physically. Is it from training with the people of his village.? Shikaku thought.

"This meeting is dismissed. ANBU, dispose of Danzo's body. There will be no funeral. Not for a traitor." Said Tsunade, leaving the Council Chambers.

The others followed soon after. Later that day, Tsunade addressed the entire village. She informed them all of Danzo's treachery, as well as what his punishment was. She even presented the evidence against Danzo, and told them that Shisui's eye was given to them to repay the Hidden Whirlpool for all the trouble they went through because of Danzo.

Later still, came Naruto and Hinata's date. The conversed over numerous topics, including the Chunin Exams and how it compared to their first time participating. They ended their date the usual was. On top of the Fourth Hokage's head on top of the Hokage Monument. After giving each other a goodnight kiss, Naruto teleported them to her room before quickly leaving. He then gathered Natsu and Yusaku, and teleported them home.

-Tsunade's office-

Tsunade was meeting with Ibiki, concerning their captive. "Have you found anything out yet?" Tsunade asked, her patience running on empty.

"No, milady. He refuses to speak. And Inoichi still can't get past the seals place inside his head." Ibiki replied.

"This can't be happening! We've been at this for a month and a half now! Why is it so difficult!?"

"I don't know. Perhaps we should ask Lord Jiraiya to assess the seals within the Akatsuki's mind." Ibiki suggested.

"Hmm. Very well. I'll call for Jiraiya. In the meantime, continue what you were doing. Something is bound to work." Tsunade ordered.

-One Month Prior-

Eight astral figures appeared within a dimly lit cave. "Sheesh. Why are we here? Did someone already capture another Tailed-Beast?" Hidan asked.

"Shut up, Hidan. I don't see a Jinchuuriki here, do you?" Kakuzu asked, knowing the answer.

"Don't tell me to shut up or I'll curse you!" Hidan yelled.

"Shut up. Both of you." Pain ordered, his tone holding no room for argument. Once there was silence, he continued. "We have much to discuss. First off, Deidara has been killed. And Sasori has been captured. The latter's whereabouts are believed to be in the Hidden Whirlpool Village."

"What? Didn't they battle some Leaf Ninja? why would Sasori's body be in that minor village?" Kisame asked.

"The Leaf kunoichi, Hinata Hyuga had called forth one Hiro Uzumaki. He's the one who killed Deidara, and captured Sasori." Pain answered.

"The leader of the Hidden Whirlpool? Shouldn't he be in his own village? How could he get to the Land of Rivers so quickly?" Itachi asked, in his monotone voice.

"That's the next thing we were going to discuss. But first, Tobi here will be taking Deidara's place among our ranks." Said Pain.

"Hello! I'm Tobi. Nice to meet you all." Said Tobi, with his upbeat attitude.

"Hiro Uzumaki is in reality, Naruto Uzumaki. The Nine-tails Jinchuuriki." Said Pain, ignoring Tobi while also surprising the other Akatsuki members.

"Clever. We knew he was in the Hidden Whirlpool. But to think that he was the real leader of that village." Said Kakuzu, mildly impressed.

"It'll be difficult infiltrating that village. Even Zetsu can't get past that Barrier jutsu. Even with the war between them and the Hidden Stone, it won't be easy getting to the Nine-tails." Said Kisame.

"Then perhaps you should go, Kisame. Your blade Sharkskin may be able to disrupt the chakra that's going throughout the barrier. But wait until after the Chunin Exams, that are being held in the Leaf Village." Pain ordered.

"Right. Looks like you'll get your target. Right, Itachi?" Kisame asked. His response was Itachi leaving.

-Present-

Once again they met, for a status update. "Sorry to interrupt your mission. Itachi. Kisame. But, we have more information that needs updating." Said Pain, once everyone was assembled.

"And what are they?" Itachi asked.

"First off, Danzo Shimura of the Leaf. Is dead." Pain answered, surprising everyone. Including Itachi.

"That's quite a surprise. Who killed him?" Itachi asked, again.

"Naruto Uzumaki." Said Pain. "Apparently, Naruto has gotten fed up with Danzo's movements. He had already stripped Danzo of any political power with in the Leaf Village. But it seems that Danzo made some last minute attempts. Including an assassination attempt on one Hinata Hyuga. The Nine-tails' lover. In response to this, Naruto kidnapped Danzo and gave him a fair fight. Danzo used a jutsu called 'Izanagi' and even used Shisui's Sharingan eye against him. Despite this, Danzo still lost the battle. And was later executed in the Leaf Village." Pain explained.

Itachi struggled to keep his composure, but he was having difficulty believing this. "How could Danzo use the 'Izanagi'? It's a forbidden Uchiha jutsu." Said Itachi.

"Danzo's right arm was riddled in Sharingan. From our intel, the arm has been destroyed. And Shisui's eye has been given to the Hidden Whirlpool. That will be your other objective, aside from capturing the Nine-tails. Understood?"

"Heh. What's the point of gathering that Sharingan? We already have Itachi." Said Kisame.

"Shisui's Mangakyou Sharingan has the greatest ability to control people. With it, anyone will be placed under our command without anyone being the wiser." Itachi explained. "But, it will take years to recharge such a power after it has been used."

"I see. So it's a one shot deal, and it's done. That's a shame." Said Kisame.

"Regardless, your orders stand. Now, go." Pain ordered, before disappearing.
