Finally! I'm back, and with a new chapter! I hope you enjoy! Please review!
Chapter 11: Two More Down
Sasuke quickly closed the gap between the himself and Itachi. Pulling out his sword he continuously clashed his blade with Itachi's kunai, as Itachi was slowly being pushed back by Sasuke. Little did Sasuke know, Itachi was allowing this to happen.
"Heh. I guess Itachi doesn't want my fight to interfere with his." Kisame thought, risking a quick glance in his partner's direction. "Fine by me!" He said, turning back toward hi two opponents. Mostly on Naruto himself. "Let me just ditto what my partner said earlier. You won't catch me off guard again. "Water Style: Water Shark Shotgun Jutsu!" He said, slamming his left hand on the ground.
A slash of water erupted from the ground, and six sharks made of water emerged and made a bee line toward Naruto and Suigetsu.
Naruto and Suigetsu took out their respective swords, and took out three sharks apiece with a single stroke of their blades.
-Karin and co.-
Karin had in the meantime erected a barrier between the two battles.
"Impressive. I wouldn't have thought that Naruto would have the patience to learn Kenjutsu." Kakashi remarked, as he saw how steady Naruto swung his blade.
"He's still learning though. He's only about Chunin Level with the blade. But his blade is special." Said Karin, as she continued to hold the barrier with ease.
"Wha... Seriously? He's the leader of your village, and he's only Chunin level with a sword?" Sakura asked, surprised.
She wasn't the only one surprised by that remark, however she was blatantly ignored as Tsunade asked. "What do you mean by, 'his blade is special'?"
"Heh. Just watch and you'll see. His blade isn't just for show." Karin chuckled.
Confused, they did as Karin said, and continued watching both battles. Naruto's, to see how much progress he had made, as well as the secret behind blade. And Sasuke's, to ensure that he doesn't get into any serious trouble.
-Naruto and Suigetsu v.s. Kisame-
Suigetsu charged in and clashed his Executioner's Blade against Kisame's Shark Skin. As their blades met, Naruto quickly appeared behind Kisame. "Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!" Naruto called out. He then drew his sword anew. "Kenjutsu Art: Wind Style: Whirlpool Slash!" Naruto called out, as he made a turn and a half. His second attack took the wind from his jutsu, and turned it into a whirlpool of wind. The jutsu then quickly proceeded to Kisame and began ripping into him, as well as Suigetsu.
Kisame withdrew his blade from against Suigetsu's, and started absorbing the chakra from Naruto's attack.
-Karin and co.-
Naruto's attack surprised everyone. "Why would Naruto let his own attack whip out one of his own shinobi!?" Temari asked, shocked at what she was seeing.
Karin scoffed. "Please. Even Suigetsu's not that useless. Now, shut up and watch!"
-Naruto and Suigetsu v.s. Kisame-
Once the chakra from Naruto's attack had been absorbed, Naruto sheathed his sword and charged Kisame in an attempt to use his Taijutsu. However, Kisame jumped back to keep his distance.
Meanwhile, Suigetsu popped his head up out of the puddle of water. "Sheesh! Would've been a whole lot easier if that had worked. *Sigh* Oh well. Gotta do this the hard way then." He said, fully coming out of the puddle. As he came out, it showed the he and the puddle were one and the same. Since their was no longer any water in the spot that he now stood.
"Shadow-Clone Jutsu!" Said Naruto, as he temporarily stopped his attack. This gave Suigetsu an opportunity to attack Kisame, only for him to dodge the attack. Suigetsu continued his pursuit of Kisame, even allowing himself to be struck by Shark Skin in order to get close Kisame. However, Kisame even managed to dodge that last attack.
Stopping his assault, Suigetsu noticed something was amiss with his chakra. "What the...? What's the deal with my chakra?"
"Heheh. My blade Shark Skin..." Kisame began, before he was interrupted.
"Rasengan!" Naruto yelled, striking Kisame in the side. Kisame was sent flying, and stopped just short of reaching the barrier.
"His blade absorbs your chakra. Using that trick again would only spell disaster for you, Suigetsu." Naruto warned, as Kisame made it back to his feet. There was a hole in his cloak, where Naruto had struck him with his jutsu. However, there didn't seem to be any damage visible through said hole. But Naruto did notice that spikes were coming out of the swords hilt, and that it went up into his sleeve.
"NARUTO!" Karin yelled, gaining the attention of the three combatants. "His sword his sending chakra into his body and that is what's healing him!" She yelled.
Placing his attention back on Kisame, Naruto smirked. "Heh. That helps." Said Naruto, pulling out a tri-kunai. He then threw the kunai at Kisame.
"Water Style: Explosive Water Shockwave Jutsu!" Kisame said, spewing water out of his mouth. The water had knocked Naruto's kunai away, as it started taking up all the space in their battle field. It only took a matter of seconds, before their area within the barrier was completely filled with water. "Heh heh heh. Looks like you're in my terrain, now." Said Kisame. He then merged with his sword. Resulting in Kisame looking like a human/shark hybrid. The transformation caused Kisame's cloak to rip apart, leaving only bits and pieces hanging on to him.
"What the hell?" Naruto thought, wondering what the hell going on. "Whatever. It doesn't matter. I just need to focus my wind chakra to my lungs to keep them full of air, and then I need to get my seal on that ugly fish-faced freak!" Naruto thought, withdrawing his sword.
With Suigetsu. "Heh. Did he forget that water is my specialty as well? Oh well. I just need to help Naruto get a seal on Kisame, and the fights as good as done. And Sharkskin will be as good as mine after that." Suigetsu thought, as he let himself transform into water.
With Naruto. "Kenjutsu Art: Wind Style: Heaven Piercer!" Naruto called, swinging his blade through the water. An arc of razor sharp wind appeared in the water, and made it's way straight for Kisame. Kisame didn't bother to dodge, as he let the attack hit him dead on. As soon as the attack touched him, it seemed to be absorbed into his body without so much as a scratch. "What the...! Don't tell me!"
"Naruto! The chakra from your attack was absorbed into Kisame! It has to do with him merging with his sword!" Karin yelled.
"Damn." Naruto thought, with a deadpanned expression on his face.
-Sasuke v.s. Itachi-
Sasuke and Itachi had decided to stop their Genjutsu battle. Both believing it to be a waste of time and chakra. Glancing over, they both noticed an enormous cube of water with two figures inside. "It seems Kisame decided to go all out." Said Itachi. "However, Naruto is not to be underestimated. It's unknown as to how powerful he's become. And then there's that other chakra that's moving around in there." He thought, looking back at his brother.
"Tsk. That's an enormous amount of chakra he's got. And he's not stupid enough to get close to Naruto, or let his kunai anywhere near him. He's smart for a chakra powered monster." Sasuke said, as he looked back at his brother. Drawing his sword, he charged toward his brother. Itachi pulled out a kunai and blocked Sasuke's sword. Sasuke then charged his sword with Lightning Style Chakra, allowing him to slice through Itachi's kunai.
Itachi however, managed to dodge Sasuke's sword with only a tear in his cloak by his right shoulder.
-Naruto and Suigetsu v.s. Kisame-
"Water Style: Giant Vortex Jutsu!" Said Kisame, sending his jutsu off at no particular direction. Naruto then tried attacking Kisame from behind, only for Kisame to dodge by swimming upward. Naruto quickly swam after him in pursuit. About 30 seconds later, Kisame managed to fire off another jutsu. "Water Style: Five Hungry Sharks Jutsu!" He said, throwing his hand out.
Naruto quickly stopped as he saw this action. He then saw five sharks emerge from Kisame's hand. Performing a quick hand-sign, Naruto called out his jutsu. "Shadow-Clone Jutsu!" Naruto created 5 clones to deal with the sharks, while he continued his pursuit of Kisame.
Kisame saw that his sharks were quickly occupied by Naruto's clones, and that the original was closing his distance. Kisame had to swim backwards to dodge Naruto's charge, unaware that he had gone through the barrier.
-Karin and co.-
Karin was watching her cousin's battle closely. She had seen where Kisame was being forced to, and she had sensed where Suigetsu's presence was after being hit by Kisame's jutsu. She had also seen Suigetsu let his head appear briefly, and made eye contact with her before disappearing again. "Just a little longer, and this battle will be finished." Said Karin, as she turned her eyes back to Naruto and Kisame.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Asked Sakura. "How will it be over soon?"
"The 'Space-Time Barrier Jutsu!' is currently under my control. If Kisame is force into the barrier wall, I can control where he comes out from. Now, be quiet so I cane focus. Got that, Pinky!" Karin replied, with a slight agitation in her voice.
"Oh no! She did NOT just call me that!" Sakura thought.
Just then, Karin saw her opportunity and struck.
-Naruto and Suigetsu v.s. Kisame-
Kisame suddenly appeared before Suigetsu. Kisame had suddenly sensed that Suigetsu was right next to him. "What the...! How did he suddenly get right next to me?! I was keeping tabs on him this whole time, even while I was evading the Jinchuuriki!" Kisame thought, as Suigetsu reappeared and grabbed Kisame's cloak by his shoulder. Suigetsu then punched Kisame in the face. However, he felt somewhat drained after that. Having made some contact with Kisame's skin.
Kisame came to a halt just a few feet away from Suigetsu, and he was about to counter attack. But before he could, he felt a sharp pain in his back. "AAAAHH!" Kisame screamed.
"Gotcha! You're done for!" Said Naruto, using his chakra to talk under water. Charging in toward Kisame once again with his sword. Kisame dodged by quickly swimming upwards, and then made a quick turn toward the middle of the giant water cube. Once he stopped, he quickly placed eyes on his two opponents. "Hmm. I see. It must've been the barrier. The red-haired brat outside, who erected the barrier, must've controlled where the Jinchuuriki and I go when we run into the barrier's wall. I just have to steer clear of it from now on." Kisame thought.
Naruto suddenly disappeared in an orange flash, reappearing just in front of Kisame. Before Kisame could even react, Naruto had already sliced him nearly in half, having stopped just short Kisame's spine.
"AAAAAHHHH!" Kisame yelled, in immense pain.
"You're lucky that your sword absorbs chakra, otherwise I would've sliced clean through you. But then again, you're too dangerous to be kept alive. So, you're in for a load of hurt. At least until you're all out of chakra, because then you won't be able to heal yourself. I'm just sorry that you'll have to suffer so much, before you die." Said Naruto, as he twisted his blade and continued to slice upward.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
This continued on for minutes, with Suigetsu assisting in cutting down Kisame. With every wound that was made would quickly heal thanks to his sword healing his wounds, with the chakra it had absorbed from this battle, as well as from previous battles.
Just as it looked like the battle would continue, Kisame's sword, Sharkskin, had retreated from inside his body. Leaving Kisame to look like a severely starved, and slightly mummified man. That's when Naruto finally removed his blade from Kisame.
"NARUTO! DON'T KILL HIM! WE HAVE NINJA THAT CAN INTERROGATE HIM, FOR INFORMATION ON THE AKATSUKI!" Tsunade yelled.
"Huh? But you already have Sasori! Why do you need this guy?!" Naruto asked.
"It turns out than Kisame has been in the Akatsuki for a longer period of time. And Sasori knew very little about the organization itself. I'll explain later, but for now we need Kisame." Tsunade replied, giving a short explanation.
Naruto took a moment to think about it, before finally sheathing his blade. "Fine." He said, looking toward Kisame. "Like I said, I'm sorry for the pain you just suffered. But, you'll get to live a little longer. At least until you give us the information we want.
"Just one question." Said Kisame, as he floated limply in the water.
"And what's that?"
"You never laid a hand on me, yet you managed to use the 'Flying Raijin Jutsu!' against me. How?" Kisame asked.
"That's none of your concern. Now, just give us the information we want." Naruto replied, reaching out to take Kisame.
"Heh." Kisame chuckled, before using the last of his strength to use one final jutsu. "Summoning Jutsu!" He said, gathering some of his blood. He summoned about three sharks, each one of them going after the same target. Himself.
The action surprised everyone present. Committing suicide to protect an organization, and in such a brutal manner as to let themselves be eaten by sharks.
"Hey, Naruto!" Suigetsu called, getting Naruto's attention.
Naruto turned around a saw Suigetsu tangling with the great sword Sharkskin. It was a strange sight, because the sword was wielding itself against Suigetsu and his Executioner's Blade. "Uh...? What are you doing, Suigetsu?" Naruto asked.
"I'm trying to convince this sword that I should be it's master now! But it's not cooperating!" Suigetsu replied.
*Sigh* "And let me guess, you need help?" Naruto asked, with a deadpanned expression.
"Hey! What's with that face!?" Said Suigetsu.
-Karin and Co.-
"Alright! One battle is over, just one more to go. I'm dropping the barrier with the water, so brace yourselves!" Karin ordered, warning them what she was about to do. Gaara quickly brought out sand and lifted everyone off of the ground. Once Karin felt that they were safe, she release the half of the barrier containing the water. Careful, so as not to release any of the walls containing the other battle. As soon as the barrier walls were lifted, the water came rushing out along with Naruto, Suigetsu and Sharkskin.
Naruto quickly grabbed Suigetsu, and used the 'Flying Raijin Jutsu!' to get to safety. Which happened to be on the same sand cloud as Karin. "Hey, Karin. How's it going? Having trouble keeping the barrier up yet? Heheh." Suigetsu asked, only to receive a kick to the head by Karin.
"Shut up, Suigetsu! I can handle the barrier just fine!" Karin yelled.
"Suigetsu, quit antagonizing Karin. Especially when she has to focus on barrier." Naruto ordered, causing Suigetsu to just wave it off since it wasn't anything new to him. Turning to Karin, he said. "And Karin, you almost lost control over the barrier just now. Just ignore him next time, when you're busy with something like this."
"Right, sorry." Karin replied.
"It's fine."
-Sasuke v.s. Itachi-
Sasuke and Itachi had been fighting fiercely. Inflicting wounds upon on another. Some minor, others a bit more serious. Sasuke, so far, had faced the dreaded 'Tsukoyomi' and the infamous 'Amatarasu'. Being able to fight off the powerful Genjutsu, and barely escaping the infinite black flames had taken their toll on Sasuke. However, Sasuke had dealt some heavy blows to Itachi himself. Not to mention that he had managed to force Itachi to use up a large amount of his chakra, but at the cost of his own chakra in return.
Now, they were both running low on chakra. Sasuke had just launched a few powerful Fire Style jutsu into that sky without resistance from the barrier. With only a quickly moment of eye contact with Naruto, the order was given to let the jutsu go through the barrier without being affected. This had caused storm clouds to appear shortly after.
Sasuke then made a familiar hand-sign, that Naruto instantly recognized. "Shadow-Clone Jutsu!" With that, the two Sasuke's began two separate jutsu. While the clone used 'Lightning Style: Lightning Beast Running Jutsu!', the original activated 'Chidori!'
With the 'Lightning Beast' Running toward Itachi, Sasuke used the extra time to prep his most powerful jutsu. The observers of the battle were all confused as to what Sasuke was doing. Even Kakashi.
The Sasuke Clone's jutsu struck true to Itachi, however he almost instantly disappeared in a flock of crows. "Nice try, Sasuke. *Pant* But it'll take more than that to defeat me." Said Itachi, as he appeared from behind a rock that had been unearthed during the battle.
"Hn. I couldn't agree more." Sasuke replied, holding his 'Chidori!' charged hand high above his head. "Thanks to our collective Fire jutsu, the Fire jutsu I fired into the sky as well as your 'Amatarasu!', all helped to create this storm. Now! I'll be able kill you in one blow! You won't be able to dodge this!" Sasuke declared, as lightning came down and began to take on a physical form.
No one present could believe their eyes. A creature they had only heard of through mythological stories, appearing before them. However, it was made of lightning rather then actual flesh like in their books. Though only the upper half of the body was visible, the Lightning jutsu version of the mythical creature with a magnificent sight to behold. Even Itachi couldn't believe his eyes.
"This is my ultimate jutsu! 'Kirin"!" Sasuke called out, sending his jutsu down toward his brother Itachi. No resistance was made from the barrier, as Karin made sure to let the Jutsu pass freely without lifting it. The jutsu struck true, causing massive destruction to the battlefield. Once the smoke cleared, both of the battling brothers could be seen standing. One of them stood, very clearly exhausted. While the other was shocked. "Impossible! Only Naruto should've been able to dodge that!" Sasuke yelled, in shock.
"I *Pant* I've used my *huff* most powerful defense." Itachi replied, before activating said defense. A large orange figure appeared, with a shield on it's left arm and a sword in it's right hand. The figure only had an upper body present, and it was wearing what appeared to be armor.
"Wh...what is that!?" Sasuke asked, surprisingly even more shocked than he was before.
"It's the *pant* ultimate jutsu! *Huff* The 'Susanoo!'" Itachi answered. "It's a jutsu that only one with the Mangekyou Sharingan in both eyes." Itachi then made his way toward Sasuke.
Sasuke knew he was too low on chakra to pull off any jutsu, so he pulled out his last kunai with paper-bomb and threw it. Sasuke's aim was true, but the following explosion didn't do any damage to Itachi or his jutsu. As Itachi just kept walking toward him, Sasuke figured he might as well use his physical strength to get through his brother's defense. So, he pulled out his sword and struck it into the 'Susanoo!'. However, Itachi's defense was too powerful as Sasuke's sword was knocked away.
Sasuke was out of options, all he could do now was keep his distance from his older brother.
-Naruto and co.-
"Karin! Let me into the barrier! My 'Flying Raijin Jutsu' isn't working!" Naruto yelled, as he started running toward the barrier with a 'Rasengan!' in his hand.
"Right!" Karin replied, letting Naruto through the barrier and right behind Itachi.
Naruto appeared right behind Itachi's 'Susanoo',and rammed his own jutsu against it's back. The impact caused a small shockwave. Naruto's jutsu soon faded, giving Itachi a chance to counter-attack. Itachi turned around and attempted strike at Naruto. However, Naruto had expected this and pulled out a tri-kunai and threw it. It didn't get very far before he had to teleport to it, but it got far enough for him to teleport out of Itachi's reach.
As soon as Naruto turned around to attack again, he was hit with a powerful Genjutsu. This caused Naruto to hit the ground, unmoving. Itachi then turned back toward Sasuke, and began walking.
Sasuke was stunned. He remembered that jutsu of Naruto's. He remembered how painful it was. He knew he shouldn't be surprised by it, but he couldn't help it. Aside from that, he was too exhausted to move. Itachi moved ever closer to Sasuke. Once Itachi got right in front of Sasuke, he released his jutsu. He then brought his hand up, and was raising it up to Sasuke's face.
Just as Itachi was just about to touch Sasuke's face, he felt an immense amount of pain in his chest. He couldn't even feel his heartbeat anymore. Looking down, he saw a hand, surrounded by lightning chakra, sticking out of his chest. Realizing what had happened, Itachi looked back up to Sasuke and used the last of his strength to poke Sasuke in the forehead. As his strength finally faded, Itachi's blood soaked hand slid down Sasuke's face and left behind a trail of blood down his face.
Itachi then fell down to the ground. Dead. Itachi was finally dead. However, Sasuke had finally fell over in exhaustion shortly after.
