Chapter : How the rain got striked out

"Aki-chan! Over here!"

Yamamoto saw her turn on her heels, and smiling back at him as she spotted him in the midst of the crowd. Her long black silky hair is tied neatly in a ponytail, and a small handbag hanged loosely in one of her hand. The way she graciously walk towards him without any hesitation nor hurry made Yamamoto almost think she's wearing a kimono instead of a plain long pants and a blouse.

Even without wearing one she's already mesmerized in his eyes. Although he didn't understand why.

"Sorry to make you wait Takeshi-kun," she said as she reach him.

Yamamoto just grin at her and without him realizing, he couldn't take his eyes off the said girl from behind his sunglasses. "Not at all. We're the one troubling you after all~"

Aki giggling at him while shaking her head, half of the reason probably from the sunglasses he's unusually wearing. "I'm glad I could be any help."

Playfully Yamamoto reaching out his hand, in which Aki accept with the same level of smile in her face.

"Well, shall we go then?"

A few days before that…

"A murder attempt?"

Tsuna nodded tiredly from his seat while looking up to his Rain Guardian that's standing across his table. Right beside him is his ever loyal right hand man, looked as tired as his boss.

"Yeah, the daughter of a Italian governor has been getting some murder attempt for the past couple of month. Probably from some political enemy or something. So they requested us to….solve this problem."

Yamamoto blinked. "Shouldn't Hibari do that kind of job?"

"They already did." Gokudera is the one answering. "They already found a prime suspect, but still couldn't find the evidence to corner that particular party. So what we're planning is to lure them out and capture them ourselves in their act."

"That said daughter is planned to be in local amusement park as a special guest for their annual event. Kyoya said the next attempt most likely gonna be in the, and that's the perfect moment to capture him in his act."

"Wow, so we're using her as a bait?" Yamamoto surprised Tsuna approve of this kind of plan.

Tsuna sighed, "I don't! It's the girl herself who's stubbornly insist. I already told her to just skip this event and give us more time to find more concrete clue, but she said she want to finish this as soon as possible. Seriously…."

"Hahaha, that's one brave girl. So then, why calling me?"

Tsuna pondered a few seconds, before he continue on, "The thing is, neither Kyoya nor his subordinates could go there to protect or even try to capture the assassin without raising suspicion. And neither do us, without fulfilling the requirement to attend that event."

Yamamoto frowned. "And why is that?"

"…..because it's a couple only event."

Even though this mission couldn't be counted as a leisure one, Yamamoto couldn't help but feeling he's being lucky in this situation. It just so happened that Chrome is on a long mission outside of Italy that she couldn't afford to come back just for this, Hibari won't pair as a couple (even though it's just as cover) with anyone other than Chrome, and Tsuna hasn't trust any of the other girl for this kind of espionage and (possibly) involve fighting mission.

They have Mukuro who might able to pull an illusion of a woman, but he seems to be in his missing period that usually happened whenever a joint meeting is around. Yamamoto didn't understand, but Tsuna said it's got something to do with drifting-kind-of-cloud-like woman. In which make him confused even more.

So here he is, walking around the amusement park with the archer girl's hand interwined with him. Looking perfectly normal like any other couples you could see there in the place. And in all honesty, Yamamoto feel like he would enjoy every bit of today even if it's counted as a mission.

Aki is one of his friend that he likes to hanging out with. With both of them using Japanese fighting style, they could somehow sync in movement. That connecting with their same interest when they're engaged in a conversation too. And mostly, to find a girl that looked like she could protect herself just fine without him have to worrying over her is somehow refreshing to him.

Their protection target would only arrive later in the afternoon. So the two decided to come a few hours early, and inspecting all spot in the park to familiarize themselves. And by inspecting, it means include riding all attraction they could find.

So far they have ride almost all the available attraction. Including the jet coaster and lots of other screaming machines in which both of them pass it with their carefree laugh. Though when they enter the haunted house and Aki sticking close to Yamamoto like her life depend on it, Yamamoto almost listen to the whisper in his head and drag her back inside, if not for her teary pleading eyes that feel like melting him.

Actually, Yamamoto almost forgot they're on a mission as he enjoying spending time with her. But when Aki reminded him that it's almost time, they conclude to ride the Ferris Wheel as the last attraction before going into position.

"I've been meaning to ask this, but what's with the sunglasses?" Aki said as the Ferris Wheel's door closed by the staff. Leaving them alone inside the round capsule. Sitting on opposite side of the capsule.

"Oh, this? Haha, Tsuna said to take precaution so no one could recognize me. I've been getting famous lately he says!"

"Ah, I can relate somehow." Aki still remember the deadly stares she have been receiving every time she socializing with the swordsman whenever they meet in a party. "By the way Takeshi-kun…"

Yamamoto's eyebrow raised at the unfinished question, and suddenly he could feel his smile strained as he saw her leaning closer to him. Too close for his sudden rising heartbeat.

"You saw that one on the forest?"

His eyebrow back to it's normal position, and his smile relaxing back (a little bit). "Yup. Though I think he's not alone there."

"I also feel a malice presence around the water attraction. You think they're hiding in the water too?"

Well the stage venue is a special one that's build around a pond, so it's not impossible. But that's not what circulating inside Yamamoto's head right now.

Aki have shifted her position to follow her mind who started thinking on this mission, and now her head is supported by her hand that leaning on her crossed leg. That position made her body curving down towards him, and how she only wear a tank top inside her blouse didn't help his mind at all.

As his head started to get dizzy from sudden heat that he didn't understand where it came from, Aki turn her gaze towards her, and asking (somehow) cutely, "What's wrong Takeshi-kun? Your face looked pale suddenly."

"Heh? Hahaha, I don't know. Probably the air conditioner give me the stroke?"

Aki blinked. "But it's freezing here."

Yamamoto have somehow survive the rest of the journey down by turning the topic down to their strategy. So right after they get out of the attraction, they split up looking normally, and went to their position. That was right 15 minutes before the event started.

Yamamoto sighing in relief as his heartbeat immediately turned normal.

"Hahaha, what is this weird tickling feeling I wonder?"

Walking with the fastest pace his feet could take him, Yamamoto headed towards the outer part of the park, where it connected directly to a small forest. As he enter the quiet and secluded forest, he pull out his Shigure Kintoki from his storage box weapon, and getting ready.

No longer than a few minutes after it, he spotted a man in all black clothes leaning above one of the tree branch, with a long barrel sniping gun ready in his hand.

Yamamoto hold his position a few meters from that assassin. Waiting for the perfect time to ambush him.

A few minutes filled with only silence and leaf sound from the wind, Yamamoto saw his target shifting a bit, as a loud cheering that marking the start of the event echoed in his back.

Without further do, Yamamoto jump forward and execute one of his move.

Utsushi Ame!

The assassin frozen at the sudden wave of water coming from his right and the figure of a swordsman ready to slash at him from inside it.

He quickly turn his riffle around, but that's when Yamamoto coming down from his above and hit his neck with the back blade.

As both the assassin and the gun dropped to the ground unconscious, Yamamoto call out Kojirou from his ring.

"Kojirou, watch over him for me okay!"

Kojirou chirped while flying around the unconscious body. And with that Yamamoto dashing out from the forest, back to the event area.

As he rummaging through the big crowds to get near the pond, his eye catch the sight of someone under the water. Wearing camouflaged diving equipment and same colored gun in his hand.

He was about to dash out against the unmoving crowd, when he saw him ready to pull the trigger. And he know he won't make it in time.

A sudden sharp gust of wind pass above his head, and he could only staring there as he saw his target got hit by a wooden arrow right in his shoulder. A loud scream, and the pond started dyed red from his blood.

With the crowd around him frozen and got hysteric over the sudden turn of event, Yamamoto know this is his chance and he waste no time to jump down and knock down the second assassin easily.

He turn to the direction where the arrow came from, and he's frozen in spot as he saw the most stunning view he has ever seen in his life.

There, with her hair swaying from the gusting wind above the castle replica building that located almost 100m from his position, stood Aki with her long bow in her hand. As he couldn't turn his sight away from the figure, Aki send her smile from her spot towards him, which strike him right in the spot. He couldn't even smile back like how he used to do. And right from that moment, Yamamoto realize something inside his heart has been hit by something that give him more excited feeling then he ever feel. Even more than the homerun he ever done throughout his life combined.

Later on that day…

"Ne Aki-chan~! Do you mind not going into amusement park alone or with any other guy beside me from now on? Especially when you're wearing those."

Aki blinked a few times before her mouth produce a low "Eh?" sound.

A/N : I just feel like to do a Yamamoto/Aki drabble once before updating my new story. I miss this couple~ I hope I didn't ruin them though U_U
