(February 5th 2015 – 9:00 AM – Nick's house, New York, Earth)
A new day was starting for the Radiant Dawn, she opened up her eyes and saw somebody at her side. Nick's black hairs were tickling Leona's face, during the night she hugged to him while sleeping and none of them noticed, the ginger tried to move her arms away from her neck slowly, in an effort to not wake him up, she couldn't get up from the bed without interrupting the Summoner's dreams.
¨(How am I supposed to get out of here without him waking up?)¨ The girl looked around for a solution to her problem when something poked at her head, sitting on a shelf above her was Teemo with a slight smile ¨How long have you been there?¨ Leona whispered to the Yordle, Nick moved but turned to his right with her back facing the Radiant Dawn.
¨I couldn't sleep with my friends so I came up here during the night and rested between you two¨ The Yordle started to climb down with the help of Leona at her side, resting on the pillow ¨However someone was hungry last night and decided to bite on my ears¨ The scout's high pitched whispers made the ginger chuckle, at her back Nick groaned and turned to Leona's side. His nose tickled Leona's butt making her yelp and slap his face making him sit on the bed with his eyes closed, Nick grunted and fell back onto his pillow as if nothing happened.
This time the scout and the Solari dropped a laugh that woke the Summoner who grabbed his pillow and hit them ¨Go and let me sleep¨ he muttered with a sleepy voice moving his legs to allow the champions to get out of the bed.
As Leona opened the door for Teemo to get through she turned back to Nick ¨If the world depends on a sleepy Summoner then we are lost¨ no response came from him except that he raised his left hand waving the middle finger at the ginger ¨I'll give you five minutes to get to the kitchen, else we'll wake you up¨ That warning was enough for the black haired who was slowly rising from the bed.
The Summoner was cleaning his eyes as he got to the kitchen the group of Yordles were sitting at the table while the ginger was preparing the table placing some biscuits and fruit on it ¨I guess it's nice of you to prepare the breakfast¨ Nick got his hand closer to an orange but Leona slapped it away.
¨This food is for the kids, YOU will have a special treatment¨ The Radiant Dawn turned grabbing a glass full of a white liquid and handing it to the Summoner who had a confused look on his eyes ¨The Rakkor used to drink a glass of milk every morning, they weren't allowed to eat or drink during the day unless they completed their trainings or became victorious in the daily sparring¨ Nick grabbed the glass inspecting it closer ¨If you manage to complete the training then you are allowed to eat¨ A big smile was drawn on Leona's face as the raven haired drank every bit of the milk from the glass ¨We have a rough day ahead¨ they walked to the backyard, meanwhile the Yordles were distracted with the tank's story.
¨Kids? Does she even know how old are we?¨ Rumble grunted playing with his apple while the other two just shrugged and ate their breakfast.
At the back of the house the Summoner and his champion were facing each other, the Radiant dawn crossed her arms, this time with a more serious (if not angry) face. She raised her left hand and summoned a small flame that could barely be seen from Nick's position ¨Ignite is a powerful spell, on the Rift it may allow you to win a team fight, but outside it has many uses rather than just burning your opponent¨ She closed her hand making the flame disappear, on the right one she was carrying a small piece of paper and gave it to the Summoner. ¨Focus on the paper, let the heat flow through your body and then into your hands¨
The Summoner grabbed the paper with his fingertips and used his other hand as if he was casting a powerful flame ¨Pyroblast!¨ He shouted but nothing happened as the piece of paper was still in his fingertips, the ginger cocked her head, worried that her student didn't learn anything.
¨I guess you don't want to have lunch… it's ok, I accept it¨ She chuckled leaning on the wall, Nick shook his head trying to burn the object between his finger.
¨Mind if I ask you something… something about you?¨ Leona got closer to the black haired boy, curious of what he would ask, her mouth was shut but a nod and a confirmation sound was the only thing he needed ¨I want to know about the Solari. I mean, the creators of your game don't give that much detail about their story, or even yours¨ He lowered his hand with the paper but ginger tilted her head towards the object forcing the Summoner to continue with his training
¨It is kind of hard for me to explain an outsider like you about me or my culture but if you are too curious about it I can't help¨ She sighed and walked past Nick sitting on a bench that facing his back so they wouldn't make eye contact but allowed Leona to observe his student in case he stopped with the practice ¨When I became the Chosen of the Sun, the Solari taught me a lot of things, I had to learn about my new duties, as well as understand what the previous Chosen did. However the training was strict, they forced me to fight other members wielding the tools I was gifted¨ Leona downed her head as if she was ashamed of what she did.
¨I don't understand, you were a member of the Rakkor tribe, a tribe born to fight until death¨ Nick asked confused facing the Radiant Dawn and since she was not looking, he walked towards her but she raised her head pointing at where Summoner was when he was trying to burn the piece of paper, he backed but continued to look at the ginger.
¨In the tribe only the strongest survive, I had to fight but didn't have the enough strength to do it. There is only one person…¨ Tears were flowing from Leona's eyes ¨… not even redemption can make her crimes disappear¨ This attracted the attention of the student who dropped the paper and embraced Leona in a comfortable hug ¨Don't worry about me keep training¨ The order from the Solari didn't affect Nick who hushed her.
¨I cannot focus if you are sad¨ Leona looked at him, tears still streaming from her face ¨I can't promise I will be a great Summoner and protect the world from this invasion or whatsoever¨ Nick wiped the ginger's tears ¨But I can promise that you will return to Runeterra and finish your quest¨ A smile appeared on both faces which were getting closer. Some knocking was coming from the inside, the glass door that served as a way between the kitchen and the backyard was being used by the Yordles to spy on the two of them. The duo separated blushed at the awkward situation from before, Nick picked up the paper from the grass resuming with his training.
¨Those were some nice words… but that won't help you get any further during your training¨ The Summoner sighed but with a slight smile on his face, he managed to make a character from his favorite videogame happy.

(05:00 PM) A hungry Nick was lying on the couch looking at the ceiling, from the top floor the Yordles were coming down with a big (at least for them) map of New York and its surroundings. Leona was frowning at the Summoner, the entire day wasted without him learning a spell made the Radiant Dawn even angrier, Nick was not taking this seriously and feared for both Runeterra and his world. The doorbell rang which startled everyone in the house, the ginger stood up getting closer to the entrance but before grabbing the doorknob Nick pulled her away
¨You CAN'T do THAT¨ The Summoner pointed at the door where this time some knocking could be heard ¨For what we know, it might be anyone. Tell the Yordles to hide in my bedroom, you do the same¨ She nodded, running towards the kitchen Leona grabbed all of the little creatures in a big hug and took them to Nick's bedroom ¨I'm coming!¨ he shouted to the visitors.
When he opened the door the two girls were standing in front of him. Both of them had brown hair, however Nick only recognized one of them, Claire entered the house as normal while the other one was a bit rude by pushing the owner with one of bags the stranger was carrying while entering.
¨Claire I don't mind you visiting me from time to time, especially after the last one, but bringing someone I don't know to my home is just crazy!¨ Nick sat on the couch scratching his nude chin, his stomach roared because of the lack of food in it.
¨Don't worry, you know her. Nick, let me introduce you to the Piltover Enforcer: Vi!¨ The black haired Summoner inspected her, the supposed enforcer removed a bandage from her left cheek revealing a tattoo that said VI.
¨Claire… You know that…¨ He was speechless, he couldn't believe she was fooled by a street imitator, no words came from his mouth and made a facepalm trying to overcome this situation ¨You can't come here and bring me people that look like League champions. I do love seeing cosplays but this is just outright wrong¨
Vi opened one of the bags and took her left gauntlet from it, she put it on and started to charge it up ¨Listen 'ere baby, you better start believing your friend here or you can start believing on the way to the hospital. You choose¨ Nick crossed his arms and shook his head but then the gauntlet's knuckles started to bright with an intense red as steam was coming from them, this made the male Summoner to widen his eyes and nod ¨You see Claire? Sometimes you need more than words to convince someone¨ Vi removed her gauntlet, steam still coming out of it but apparently it wasn't hot for her hands.
A shadowy figure could be seen observing them from the stairs, when looking at his left Nick saw Leona watching them. ¨It's ok, tell them to come down¨ The Summoner gave the Radiant Dawn a signal and went back to the bedroom.
¨Them?¨ A curious Claire turned her head to the right and saw the group of Yordles coming down from the stairs. A smile appeared on the girl's face as she was running towards the scout and grabbed him giving a strong hug.
¨I guess you already know Leona from… last time, then there's Rumble, Tristana, and the little one you are suffocating is Teemo¨ Nick stood up trying to separate Claire from the Swift Scout.
Vi was looking everywhere as if trying to find something ¨You told me Caitlyn would be here and I don't see anybody apart from the little rats, a sun worshiper maniac and a hungry Summoner¨
Even after Nick's efforts Claire was not letting the Yordle go from her grasp ¨Cait lives not far from here. I'm sure she'll come¨ The cuddling was making Teemo uncomfortable so he used his blowgun and hit the Summoner repeatedly until she let him go making the scout fall to the ground.
¨If you finished up suffocating our pal then we continue with our plans¨ Rumble huffed as the trio walked to the kitchen and jumped back on the table where the map was lying.
¨While you are at it, I'll call Matt… to make sure he tells Cait¨ Nick grabbed his phone while the female Summoner and the two Champions sat on the couch, discussing things about this world.

(05:40 PM) Time seemed to stop for Nick, the Void creature known as Kha'Zix managed to get into his house and even though the Radiant Dawn and the Enforcer tried to stop his advance, their efforts were futile. The purple enemy was flying towards the house owner, he was motionless as if expecting his death, the creature was getting closer to him but a bullet from Caitlyn's rifle managed modify his flying destination making him to land in front of the couch where Matt, Nick and the sheriff were using as cover.
¨For God's sake Nick, get moving!¨ Matt's words resonated in his head, he was still stunned by the situation but managed to snap back into reality, he ran to the kitchen and grabbed a chair to use as a weapon.
The creature stood up looking for his prey, when he located it he started to walk towards the black haired Summoner but something grabbed the Voidborn from the wings, it was the Enforcer who tried to hold him back ¨Pathetic¨ A laugh came from his mouth flapping his wings made the lose control of her grasp and released him. Kha'Zix turned and used his claws to attack Vi but she used her gauntlets to protect from the attack, however the impact knocked her back to the ground.
Nick tried to keep Kha'Zix at bay using the chair to have some distance between him. The creature turned and leaped towards the Summoner and cut the chair in half with his claws, this made the house owner to fall giving the Voidborn the advantage.
¨One by one, your species will fall to the power of the Void!¨ Kha opened his mouth revealing his fangs ready to devour but he was interrupted as something was attacking him from the back. The blonde Summoner stabbed the creature in the back but apparently it was just a scratch. ¨Stay here, you don't want to see the overlord with only one leg¨ Kha'Zix roared at the black haired boy who was shaking, afraid of his imminent death.
The purple insect turned and chuckled, he had to face a Summoner armed with a knife, not a challenge for him. He jumped towards Matt and slashed him with his claws leaving a big cut on the arm he was holding the knife making him drop it ¨You are barely worth eating, but I guess a snack will not affect my objective¨ He grabbed the injured Summoner ready to finish him off.
Some bullets were shot at the creature which made it drop Matt to the ground again. Caitlyn managed to distract Kha'Zix but only for her to be the new target of the Void champion ¨Pierce and Skewer!¨ He roared at the sheriff and launched his void spikes at her.
Cait closed her eyes and placed her rifle in front of her trying to block any of the incoming spikes but none of them managed to pierce her or the rifle, when she opened her eyes Matt was embracing her and a yellow shield was protecting them both from the attacks of the creature ¨I will not let him… hurt you¨ The Summoner whispered to his Champion and fell but Caitlyn managed to grab him before his body touched the ground.
A grunt could be heard from the Voidborn who turned back to Nick who was still on the ground shaking. His advance was halted when someone grabbed one of the creature's legs and tried to drag him to the front, the Radiant Dawn used all of her strength to contain the beast and drag it to the outside.
¨It's quite impressive how a bunch of Champions and its Summoners can't fight a single Void creature¨ Ralzith mocked at the efforts of the group.
The creature stood up once again trying to finish the job but something pinned him to the ground, the Void Summoner looked at the roof and saw the machine being piloted by the three Yordles aiming the flamethrower at both of them ¨Leave the Summoners alone, or you'll face the power of Bandle City's finest!¨ The robot shoot another harpoon but he missed
The Void creature managed to remove the harpoon and stand up again, he flapped his wings and launched his spikes at the machine making it fall but he grabbed the pilot while Kha'Zix was still flying ¨It's fun to see you like this¨
¨Drop. Him¨ The voice of a woman came from below them, as he searched from the source he noticed that Ralzith was being held as a hostage; a red headed woman had a knife aiming at the Summoner's throat, the Voidborn released the pilot but Tristana and Teemo softened his fall. The creature flew towards the noxian assassin who let the Summoner go.
Before they could notice the Void duo were surrounded, nowhere to go. ¨What do you want from us? Who is the overlord?¨ A smirk appeared on Ralzith's face and in just a blink of eyes they disappeared in front of them ¨What… where did they go?¨ Nick whispered but a burst of air made the group step back, as they looked to the sky the Summoner was holding onto one of Kha'Zix legs
¨You showed us today that even the most unexperienced Summoners can become a real threat in the future. Be warned, the overlord will not stop until he sees your body lifeless¨ The Void Summoner laughed as they crossed a portal that was created in the sky making them disappear without leaving a trace.
The group was stunned at such warning, Rumble pressed a button onto his keyring and his colossal machine turned invisible. ¨Everyone get in, we must've attracted too much attention by now¨ Nick told the group and guided them to the inside, The broken door was placed on its regular spot but now it was only used to block the entrance.
At the other end of the street two people observed the entire battle but the group didn't get a glimpse of who they were ¨So Nick and Claire know about the champions in our world. This might be interesting¨ Marie whispered to a figure at his side, he was wearing heavy winter clothes, his face covered with a hat and a scarf but his eyes had a green glow.
¨Their souls are valuable. I can hear them calling for me¨ The echoing voice of the Chain Warden, Thresh could make any person run from fear, but the blonde girl was not one of those.
¨You can't go and steal other people's souls! Besides, those are my friends… or at least, that's what I thought¨ Marie stood up walking away from the hiding spot
¨Poor girl, friendship is something the living respect. But I am not a living being¨ The duo walked away to Marie's house, waiting for the right time to appear.
When the group entered into the house they saw Matt and Caitlyn on the couch, the sheriff was applying some bandages onto the wound Kha'Zix made on the Summoner's arm, he was resting his head onto Cait's shoulder both with a smile on their faces ¨What happened out there? Anybody got injured?¨ She finished up bandaging the blonde and moved his head to her legs which served as a nice pillow for him.
Nick shook his head and kneeled in front of Matt, inspecting the injured arm ¨They got away, but warned us about an overlord or something¨
Claire grabbed her phone, it was almost 6:30, she tapped Katarina's shoulder tilting her head towards the entrance ¨We must go, Liz must be worried¨ Claire waved at her friends before leaving ¨We'll talk later, keep me informed about Matt¨ The redhead nodded as both walked away from the house.
¨We will also be departing too, we found a place nearby to stay so we don't bother you¨ Tristana said to the house owner while the three Yordles were carrying some grocery bags that had food in it. ¨If something bad happens we will try to give you a hand¨ They left the house, from the outside they could hear an engine starting and flying away.
Nick and Leona turned to Caitlyn and Matt, the first trying to stand up slowly ¨You need help getting home?¨ The black haired Summoner helped his blonde friend reach to the entrance.
¨He should be fine, maybe some rest will help him ease the pain from the injury¨ Cait muttered as she whistled to Vi giving her a sign to come with the duo ¨Stay safe¨
Leona and Nick nodded. Now they were alone in the house, they sit at the couch in silence, no words came from any of them and no eye contact either. When one of them was about to talk they just decide to remain shut.
¨I'm scared¨ Nick whispered but it could be heard by Leona.
¨Now you understand why you must become a Summoner. We were more than five people against one and some of us got heavy injuries¨ Nick nodded, he was stunned, he could've died in that fight because he didn't have the courage to strike back when he had the chance. The Summoner stood up from the couch and headed upstairs ¨Where are you going?¨
¨Somewhere but not here¨
(February 5th 2015 – 10:30 PM – Matt's house, New York, Earth)
The champions were sitting at the living room watching TV while the blonde was looking for stuff in the computer ¨Good thing no one saw the fight at Nick's place, it would get really bad if the authorities decided to intervene¨
¨You know we are the authority at Piltover right?¨ Caitlyn huffed standing up from the couch and walking towards the blonde who was caressing his wounded arm ¨If you keep touching it will get infected¨
Vi stood up stretching her arms ¨So it was a long day and I need rest. Where do I sleep?¨ She looked around for a possible bed for her to lay down.
¨Well you just stood up from your bed. Cait sleeps on the bedroom, you get the couch. I'll go to the garage and sleep on the car ¨ Nick stood from the computer picking a pillow from the bedroom and headed to the garage but the sheriff halted him grabbing his hand.
¨You don't have to sleep there. Come to the bedroom, there is a place where you can rest¨ She dragged the Summoner to the bedroom, both him and Vi were curious but only the first had access to the bedroom. Caitlyn closed the door behind them as Matt looked around for a possible place to sleep.
¨Look Cait, I know you want to be good with me but-¨ The blonde got cut when the sheriff pressed her lips onto the Summoner's taking him by surprise, it was a long and deep kiss, time has stopped for Matt who dropped the pillow after the girl's actions. When they separated a cute smile was drawn on Caitlyn's face while the Summoner still had a surprised one.
¨You… you just¨ The sheriff hushed the blonde's words.
¨You can sleep with me for the night, after all I don't think Vi would mind¨ She chuckled removing her clothes and putting on some pajamas Matt lent her some nights ago ¨But I warn you, if you try something Vi will rush here¨ Caitlyn climbed into the bed giving the enough space for the Summoner to join her.
The duo was sleeping on the bed, lights turned off, the sheriff hugged Matt, the latter still surprised after the kiss ¨Why?¨
¨Remember what I told? That it was not the right time?¨ Caitlyn's words echoed in the blonde's head from the last night ¨You are not a bad person Matt, maybe a bit slow, but you showed some courage today, risking your life to protect me. And you even managed to pull a Barrier in a real life situation¨ This time it was the Summoner who hushed the sheriff with another kiss ¨Good night Matt¨
¨Good night… hat lady¨ The room got silent but a slap that hit the blonde's face could be heard ¨Right, sorry¨
(February 5th 2015 – 10:40 PM Earth time – Overlord's Throne, the Void)
Malzahar covered his face, in front of him Ralzith and Kha'Zix were heavily injured due to the torture the overlord applied to them. Behind them an image of the fight was being projected repeatedly
¨My lord, we didn't know they could be that strong, even if they were not expert Summoners¨
¨SILENCE!¨ Malzahar's voice echoed through the entire room. ¨You both failed me with such an easy task. But I'm going to give you another chance. Succeed and you will get back your freedom. Fail… ¨ The overlord raised his hand in a fist, Ralzith began to scream in agony as visions appearing in front of them, torturing him but they ceased after Malzahar opened up his hand ¨… did I make myself clear?¨
The acolyte nodded ¨I need the assist of the other Void creatures. If you allow me, of course¨ the Summoner was unsure of what to say.
¨No, a single Summoner cannot handle three, even with the most powerful creatures from the Void. You must even the odds¨ The overlord summoned a small piece of the crystal Arlor used to increase his powers ¨Look for champions and Summoners willing to follow our call. If they accept give them this small present ¨ The crystal fragment floated from Malzahar's hands to Ralzith's ¨I'm sure there must be someone in this pathetic world who would trade their lives for some power¨
The Summoner nodded opening a portal for him and Kha'Zix to go through, as the creature passed Ralzith halted as he heard the presence of his leader behind him ¨If you were to face the kids who defeated you today… show them no mercy. That will be a message in case other Summoners decide to defy my power¨ Ralzith nodded crossing the portal leaving the Overlord alone.
At the other end of the room another portal appeared, this time a flying creature was coming out of it, a big purple eye was observing the man in robes, however the Void monster also had three small eyes locked onto him ¨You summoned me to this meeting for a special purpose I presume¨ Even though the Eye of the Void (title the other champions gave to him due to his characteristic feature) known as Vel'Koz had no mouth, a voice was coming from him.
¨Indeed, I will give you a task that only you and your eyes can accomplish¨ The overlord walked back to his throne, the image of the fight was replaced by the face of Nick, Matt and Claire ¨I need you to gather as much information about this three Summoners. They represent a threat to our invasion. Once you are done, bring your research back to me and kill them¨ The overlord raised his right hand opening a portal back to the Earth
¨The task shall be done, those specimens shall be researched and terminated once the objectives are fulfilled¨ The flying creature crossed the portal, closing it behind him.
¨Battle has just started Summoners… embrace what you can, because soon, everything will cease to exist¨
Holy hell, this is my longest chapter and it was one of the hardest to plan, however I enjoyed writing every bit of it :) . I will not introduce EVERY champion of the game but I'm gonna use a good chunk of it, sorry if your favorite champion doesn't appear :(
