Chapter 17: Complicated

Adam smiled as he leaned over and pecked Cooper on the lips. The last two days had been fun, but he had to go get ready for work. Him and Cooper had decided to give it a go one last time. They were taking it slow and to themselves for right now. They didn't need their families knowing and shoving their opinions down their throats. It was nice to not have to worry what others thought of you dating.

"Coop I have to go, I'll call you later ok," Adam said with a smile.

"Ok, just know that Miri is really gonna miss you," Cooper said.

"Sure," Adam said with a chuckle. "I'll miss you too Miri," he said looking over his shoulder. He then turned to a loped with a smile. "You too," he added.

"You better get going, you don't want to be late," Cooper said. Adam nodded his head. He got out of the car and headed into the apartment building. He had to get ready quickly. He had wasted enough time with Cooper.

Adam entered the apartment and ran to his room barely saying hi to Mason and Jake who were sitting on the couch playing video games. Adam changed into his work clothes and ran from his room. Jake managed to stop him this time.

"Whoa Addaline, where's the fire?" Jake asked.

"Don't call me that, and I have to get to work," Adam said.

"Running late? I can give you a ride," Jake said.

"That would be great, thanks Jake," Adam said.

"You win Mason, we'll have to rematch soon," Jake said looking to the television.

"Deal," Mason said, "I gotta go soon anyways. I start my job tonight," he said.

"Whoa, hold the phone where are you working?" Adam asked confused.

"I got a job at a bar, it's better than nothing," Mason said.

"Are you sure that's wise," Adam asked slowly.

"I'm serving drinks Adam, not drinking them," Mason said.

"What's the problem?" Jake asked.

"I kind of, maybe had a problem back in high school with drinking, it's why my mom is so against me living out here on my own," Mason said looking at his hands. "My dad had a drinking problem and my mom told me its in my blood. I don't want to be that person, I just want to be me and I never want to be that person ever again," he said.

"I trust you Mason, just promise you'll call us to come get you of anything does happen," Adam said.

"Yeah, no matter what time it is," Jake said. Mason nodded his head. Adam walked over to the other male and gave him a quick hug.

"Come on Jake, I don't want to be late," Adam said.

-We Are-

Jared rolled his eyes as he listened to Callum talk to Matt and the others. They had been in New York for two days now. Icsis and TBA had preformed last night. It was Inside Joke's turn to open for Icsis.

Vivid Insanity had stuck around as well. They wanted to see the guys in action up close. Jared didn't really have a problem with that, it was Callum and his bragging and flirting that bothered him. Callum always had something to boast about, or he was flirting with Jared or even Roldy. Noah was no happy with Callum either, Jared saw the glares he sent his way.

On the other hand, the other three members of Vivid Insanity were very down to earth. Gavin, Crispin, and Finley were nice and not as boastful as their other band mate.

"Hey," Noah said falling down onto the couch next to Jared. They were backstage waiting for Icsis to finish their sound check. "Am I the only one's nerves he's getting on?" Noah asked quietly as he glared at Callum.

"Maybe, he can be a bit much," Jared said nudging the smaller boy softly.

"I'm serious, he's a flirt and I don't like it," Noah said dropping his voice a bit so they wouldn't be over heard.

"Gavin says that's just who he is and not to take it too seriously," Jared said.

"Gavin? You two seem to be getting along nicely," Noah said arching a brow at Jared.

"I have a boyfriend Noah," Jared replied glaring at his friend for even implying anything of the sort.

"I know, just be careful, all it takes is one paparazzo freak seeing something and that's how rumors start," Noah said.

"Yeah and loud mouthed friends don't help either, Kyle trusts me and I trust him. Jealousy isn't really something we do. I trust him not to cheat and he trusts me. I love him Noah and I am not gonna do anything to mess that up," Jared said.

"Ok, just making sure," Noah said before getting up. He paused and looked at Jared. "Just be careful, I don't trust these guys," he said quietly.

"I will No," Jared assured his friend. Noah left him alone on the couch. Jared sighed and sunk into the couch further. He just wanted to be back home and not worrying about touring anymore.

"So is this a pre-show ritual?" Gavin asked falling onto the couch beside Jared.

"Yes it's called being lazy and waiting for our sound check," Jared said. "It's very complicated so watch and learn British boy," he teased.

"Relax kid, we're done you can have the stage," Timber said walking past the pair being sure to smack Jared upside the head. Over the months Jared and Timber had developed an almost brotherly type bond.

"I think that's my cue," Jared said standing up. "Come on guys, Tim's done admiring himself in the stage lighting, it's finally our turn," Jared shouted to his friends.

"Screw you Munroe, at least I look better than you," Timber called.

"In you're dreams Wolfe!" Jared called back as he ran out to the stage.

-We Are-

Miles sighed as he fell back onto his bed. He had just gotten out of his therapy sessions. Logan had insisted he go to a therapist after the whole fiasco with Sandra and Miles agreed. It has been almost a year now and he felt better than before. There was no fear of Sandra coming back and he just felt better after just letting everything out. Kyle was the only person who knew Miles went to therapy outside of family. It wasn't that Miles was ashamed of anything, he just didn't need people making a big deal out of it.

There was a knock at the door before it opened and Kyle walked into the room. He looked at Miles and arched a brow at him.

"I just got home, what's up?" Miles asked.

"I need to talk to someone," Kyle said slowly.

"What?" Miles asked sitting up. He shed his sweater and tossed it towards his closet. He shrugged when it landed on the floor.

"You know what never mind," Kyle said shaking his head and turning around to leave.

"Is this that new rumor that Jared and Gavin are a thing, and Jared's cheating on his mystery man?" Miles asked stopping Kyle in his tracks.

"Am I stupid to buy into those rumors?" Kyle asked.

"I don't know, but you've got every right to be mad that people seem to think Jared would cheat. Do you trust him?" Miles asked.

"I do, I mean I want too, but he's on the road Miles and he will be for about another month," Kyle said slowly. Miles saw the hurt and desperation his friend was trying so hard to not let show. "I love him and I am just scared that I might be losing him," he said swallowing the lump forming in his throat.

"Did you say Vivid Insanity was only there to talk to Icsis about doing some UK shows with them," Miles asked.

"Yes, so why are they still here? They should be back in London already," Kyle said.

"Jealous?" Miles asked.

"No, I just don't like this. I hate that I can't tell people that I am the one Jared is dating and he's not cheating on me with some British freak!" Kyle snapped.

"Dude call down, have you talked to Jared? He will tell you nothing is happening between them. I may not know him that well, but I see the way he looks at you, he adores you. He would never cheat on you, especially not with a British freak," Miles assured his blonde friend.

"I suppose," Kyle sighed as he fell down onto Miles bed next to his friend.

"I'm right, I'm always right, now stop worrying and let's kill some zombies," Miles said reaching over for his controllers. Kyle chuckled and nodded his head.

Miles set up a game and the two started killing zombies, making it a contest to see who could get the most kills. Trash talk started immediately. They laughed and joked.

-We Are-

Logan smiled as he moved about the dining room getting things ready for tonight. He had managed to get the kids out of the house. Carlos was coming home from his adventure on the east coast doing interviews. It had been a couple weeks and they had both been so busy. Logan had barely even spoken to his husband. He was excited to finally have him home. He was going to surprise Carlos with a nice dinner and some alone time watching a movie or something to that effect.

Logan looked down at his watch once more. Carlos would be home any minute now.

The front door opened and Logan straightened up. He quickly made his way out to the hallway. He saw Carlos and smiled. Carlos glanced up at him and gave him a smile as well.

"Hey Los," Logan said walking up to the Latino. He pecked his husband on the lips.

"Hi Logie," Carlos said tiredly.

"How was your trip?" Logan asked with a smile.

"Exhausting, everything was perfectly timed and planned out. I barely got any sleep and I was on the road a lot. It was a lot like the promotion tours we did when we were younger, expect you and the guys weren't there," Carlos sighed.

"Must've been boring," Logan joked.

"It kind of was," Carlos said with a small smile. "Nothing against Selene, but she a not as fun to travel with as you, Kendall, and James are," he added.

"Good to know I can't be replaced," Logan joked.

"Yeah, now if you'll excuse me I am exhausted and I want to go unpack," Carlos said pecking Logan on the cheek.

"Are you sure it can't wait?" Logan asked lacing his arm with his husband's arm. He started to lead the Latino down the hall.

"But Logie, I'm tired and I had a long flight-" Carlos whined but stopped when he saw the dining room. There were candles and two plates of food with steak, baked potatoes, and fresh green beans. Carlos's jaw dropped. "Ok give me like five minutes and I'll be back," he said turning to Logan with a smile.

"For what, you look fine Los," Logan chuckled.

"Just give me a minute. Let me bring my bag upstairs," Carlos said.

"Fine, hurry up," Logan chuckled. Carlos just nodded his head and ran from the room.

Logan shook his head and moved about one last time making sure things were perfect. Once Carlos returned, they both sat down and started eating. They made small talk about Carlos promotion tour and about the kids.

"So how are things at the hospital?" Carlos asked.

"Oh you know, people come in sick and we try to make sure they leave not sick," Logan joked. Carlos laughed at that. "Seriously though things are good," he said.

"So, is it weird being back in diagnostics after being in oncology for so long?" Carlos asked.

"A little, but I'll get used to it again," Logan said nodding his head.

Once they finished eating Logan instructed Carlos to get his laptop from his office and head up to their bedroom. He told him to pick a movie and he'd join him in a bit. Carlos nodded his head and left. Logan cleared the table, brought the dishes to the kitchen, and set them in the sink. He'd do them in the morning.

Logan made his way up to their bedroom. Carlos was already sitting in bed with his pants off. He looked up and Logan and grinned. He patted the bed beside him. Logan smiled and walked over to the bed and climbed up next to his husband.

-We Are-

Jake sighed as he walked into his apartment. It was late and he was all alone. Adam and Mason were working. Damien was nowhere to be found. He was probably out with Tito. That mean Jake was fending for himself tonight.

Jake walked into the kitchen after tossing his keys onto the counter. He passed the table and froze. He looked back and saw a folded piece of paper with his name on it. He opened it and saw a note.

Jake, grab a sweater and come up to the roof. -Damien

Jake stared at the note for a moment. He quickly ran to his room and grabbed a sweater. He left the apartment again and headed up to the roof.

He saw the door was propped open with an old pipe. He slowly opened the door and made sure it caught the pipe again. He looked across the roof and saw Damien standing looking over the edge. Behind him was some blankets and a basket.

Jake smiled as he walked over to Damien. He leaned against the wall next to his husband. Damien smiled as he turned to Jake.

"I thought you were out with Tito," Jake admitted.

"Nah, I had something more important to worry about," Damien said softly.

"Oh, what's that?" Jake asked with a grin.

"Spending time with my husband," Damien replied. He turned and pecked Jake on the cheek. Jake grabbed him and pulled him into a real kiss.

Once they parted Damien pulled Jake down onto the blanket he had laid out. Jake smiled as Damien reached into the basket and pulled out some Chinese takeout.

"Not the most romantic, but it's not bad for last minute," Damien said handing Jake a box.

"It's perfect Day," Jake said. Damien just smiled at Jake.

They started eating and making small talk. Jake felt at ease and was glad to have some alone time with Damien. It was a rare occurrence between them lately. They were both either always working or had classes. It was nice to not have to worry abut either at the moment. It was nice not to care and just relax. Damien seem pleased as well.

"This is nice Day," Jake said once they had finished eating. They were standing by the small wall and looking out over the city.

"It's a beautiful sight isn't it?" Damien asked looking out to the city lights. Jake smiled and nodded his head.

"Yeah," Jake said looking over to his husband.

"So you excited for Rome?" Damien asked.

"Yeah, I've been to Venice, but not Rome. And besides I'll have you with me so it be even better," Jake said. He reached over and placed his hand over Damien's hand.

Damien turned his hand over and pulled Jake's hand to his lips. He pressed a kiss to it. Jake blushed and pulled his hand back. Suddenly Jake felt like they were eighteen again and first dating. He turned to face Damien again. Damien was looking at him, he had that look in his eyes. That look that Jake knew all too well.

"The apartment is empty," Jake said.

"You read my mind," Damien said. The two quickly stuffed the blankets into the basket and headed down stairs.

Once they reached their apartment Damien dropped the basket and pushed Jake back against the door. He smashed their lips together in a hungry kiss. Jake gasped and wrapped his arms around Damien's neck and pressed their bodies together. Hands found skin and shirt rode up. Damien's hands slipping into Jake's pants and he gasped throwing his head back against the door. He felt no pain, all he felt was pleasure.

Jake jumped up and wrapped his legs around Damien's waist. Damien pushed his hips forward into Jake and ground their hips together. The two moaned and their movements became more frantic.

-We Are-

Adam sighed as he finally sat down. The diner was closed and he was almost done with work. He just had to finish cleaning and wait for Sam, his co-worker, so he could get a ride home.

"Taking a break Adam?"

Adam looked back to the ginger haired boy. He was barely eighteen and he had been working at the diner longer that Adam. His family owned the diner and Adam hoped to own it someday. He was a bright kid with a bright future. Adam kind of wished he had his life. Instead Adam was nineteen and expecting his second kid.

"Yeah, I just need a moment my feet are killing me," Adam said.

"It's ok preggers, I got this," Sam chuckled. "Sit and relax and I'll give you a ride home when I'm done," He said.

"Are you sure?" Adam asked.

"Yes, I've been doing this since I was fifteen," Sam said waving a hand at Adam.

Adam nodded his head and relaxed for the moment. He was just relieved to be off his feet. He was almost five months pregnant. He was getting bigger and bigger everyday it seemed. It was getting harder to do things.

Sam finished cleaning and walked over to Adam with a smile. "So when do we find out if you're having a little Samuel or a Samantha?" He teased.

"Friday and I doubt I'll be naming him Samuel," Adam said.

"A guy can dream right?" Sam asked with a laugh.

"You done yet?" Adam asked.

"Yep, all ready to go. And seriously just think about it, little Sammy Knight," Sam joked, "or whatever last name you're gonna give the kid," he added quickly.

"I don't know yet," Adam said as he heaved himself out of his chair. "It's complicated."

"Most relationships are," Sam said with a small smile. He headed for the door.

"Nah, just some and sometimes those are the ones worth fighting for," Adam said as he followed Sam.

"Seems like a lot of heartache to me. I had a boyfriend who slept around on me and made me feel guilty about it like it was my fault. It wasn't worth the drama," Sam said waving his hand as they left the building.

"No that's not good," Adam said quickly, "me and Cooper are different. We never really cheated on one another, we just made a simple mistake and didn't want to deal with the consequences when they became too much."

"So you left him? Honestly, I don't know if I'd be able to forgive someone for that," Sam said.

"I know, but Cooper left me at one point too. Like I said it's all so complicated," Adam said shaking his head as he and Sam got into Sam's car. "When it all comes down to it though, I still love him," he said slowly.

"Well, if you guys can make it work go ahead, from what I've heard Cooper is a nice guy," Sam said shrugging.

"He really is, it's-"

"Complicated, I've heard," Sam chuckled.

"Sorry," Adam said his cheeks going red.

The rest of the ride was spent with small talk about work or the baby. Sam dropped Adam off and told him he'd see him tomorrow. Adam agreed and waved at him. He headed inside thinking about the conversation he had just had with Sam. Was he making the right choice in trying with Cooper again.

-We Are-

Kyle sighed as he laid back in his bed with phone pressed to his ear as he talked to Jared. Jared had finished his concert and was on the bus to New Jersey. He just wanted to hear Kyle's voice.

"It was insane," Jared said.

"I'll bet, thousands of people screaming your name and knowing every word to your songs. It's gotta be insane," Kyle replied.

"I love it, it's amazing," Jared sighed. Kyle chuckled at his boyfriends excitement.

"So how are the guys? Are they loving tour too?" Kyle asked.

"Yeah, l think Matty has a girlfriend or two," Jared said,

"Two?" Kyle asked confused

"He doesn't see it, but Maggie and Naomi are fighting over him. They boy want his attention and he is so oblivious it's not even funny," Jared said.

"Wow," Kyle said slowly.

"Hey, I love you, you know that right," Jared said suddenly.

"I know, I love you too Jer," Kyle said biting at his lip. He had been avoiding that that subject this entire phone call. He didn't want to bring up the rumors surrounding Jared and the members of Vivid Insanity right now.

"There is nothing to worry about Kyle. They are just rumors," Jared said.

"I know, I trust you Jer," Kyle said slowly. He wanted to trust Jared, but he couldn't shake this nagging feeling in the back of his mind. "Look it's late and I have school in the morning Jer. I will talk to you tomorrow," he said.

"Alright, sleep tight Ky," Jared said.

"Don't let the bedbugs bite Jer," Kyle replied.

So there you have it. Another chapter. Lots going on here too. Adam and Cooper are trying again. They will soon find out the gender of their baby. Will it be a boy or a girl? Kyle is doubting Jared, will this cause a rift between the two? Should Kyle trust Jared? Logan and Carlos had a nice romantic evening, are they getting things back on track? So many questions so little time. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
