(February 22nd 2015 – 9:15 AM – Safehouse, New York, Earth)
Two beams were casted far from the warehouse, both Summoner arrived at the location. No sounds came from their surroundings except for the chilling wind that hit them in their faces.
¨How are we supposed to summon them?¨ Claire asked the other Summoner who didn't say anything but she raised her hands casting a sphere in between them.
The magical sphere glowed with a white hue but suddenly it changed to green, the magic contained in it was trying to escape and it was hard for Marie to hold it, she closed her eyes focusing on the summoning, it took only a few seconds for her to concentrate before the blonde opened her eyes, the magical contraption turned back again to its white glow. Suddenly in front of her a shadow appeared that was slowly materializing into the Chain Warden.
¨It is hard isn't it?¨ Thresh chuckled at Marie who was panting, the summoning process demanded a lot of energy from her. ¨If you wish to rescue your sister, I suggest you bring the noxian here…¨ The support muttered to Claire before making his scythe and lantern in his skeletal hands.
The other Summoner did as the same, she placed her hands around an invisible sphere that soon became visible, it shared the same white glow as Marie's but unlike her, the sphere didn't turn green or red (which was Katarina's trademark color), it stayed white until the same process happened, a shadow spawned in front of her that turned into the assassin in just mere seconds.
¨Are we ready?¨ Katarina looked at the three people in front of her.
¨Not quite yet, I must do the final preparations¨ Thresh raised his lantern and opened it, from the inside three souls came out of it, floating in front of the Summoners and champions.
¨I don't want to know how they are feeling right now¨ Claire whispered covering her eyes due to a bright light coming from the souls the Chain Warden just released. As she looked again, Leona; Caitlyn and Vi appeared, looking at themselves and their surroundings as if they were lost.
¨We won't do that… ever again¨ Vi shook her head, she was already powering up her gauntlets.
¨So what now?¨ Marie asked something that everyone already knew, but it was the only way to break the silence between them.
¨We break in, take Liz, and go out. If possible, avoid anyone not related to the mission¨ Caitlyn was preparing her rifle as well as the characteristic purple hat.
The group didn't have a solid plan, it was more like snatch and grab operation where they didn't have any information on what could be inside. They moved towards the building avoiding any cameras that could spot them, however there was only one problem thus far: The main entrance was guarded by a camera on the other side of the street which meant that the only way in was through the door in the back.
They managed to get to the back of the building without any problems, the side of it was a blind spot for the cameras and it could be used as an escape route in case they managed to alert no one. All of them grouped by the back door on both sides, preparing their weapons for the unknown.
¨Into the wolves' den…¨ Claire whispered to herself moving her hand towards the handle but Caitlyn stopped her before doing it.
¨What are you doing?! We don't know what's inside¨ Caitlyn released the Summoner's hand ¨Peek through the door's lock or something¨ The Summoner nodded getting closer to the door and looking through the small hole, the inside was completely dark, however there was a light coming from the right but it was hard to see due to the limitations of the lock.
¨I can't see much, but there is something by this side¨ Claire gently tapped the right side where the light was coming from.
¨Alright that's enough. We're goin' in¨ Vi stepped away from the group by the door and pushed the Summoner to the side, she grabbed the door handle and squeezed it, of course it was natural that Vi's finesse would not end up giving silent results, the next thing she noticed when pulling from the handle was that the upper half of the door was now resting between his fingers while the lower part was loosely hanging from its hinges.
¨What the fuck Vi?! Why don't you go to the front door and ask for Liz? I bet that would be a better way¨ Caitlyn was furious, her whole sneaking up plan was now ruined because of the enforcer's impatience.
¨We won't stay here fo' long remember?¨ Vi grinned entering into the building, the rest of the group just looked at each other, stunned at the girl's action, without much to do they decided to follow the enforcer inside.
Claire was right, there was something at the right, it was a computer with many monitors, all of them showing images of the streets around the safehouse.
¨They knew we would come eventually, yet there is no one looking at the cameras…¨ Marie spoke with a worried tone on her voice but she was right.
¨It may be a trap. We should be careful on what lies ahead¨ Leona suggested while raising her shield towards the door, a sound came from the other side.
As the group prepared, they readied up their weapons, they all looked at Vi who was now the one in charge of making the entrance points for them.
¨You might wanna get back for this¨ Vi warned everyone who stood back outside. The enforcer crackled the metallic knuckles and charged her gauntlet as If she was going to cast her Q like in the game. After a few seconds of channeling the gauntlets release a huge wave of steam which propelled her through the door, breaking it in the process (along with some parts from the wall).
¨It's safe here, you can-¨ Vi looked at her left and stopped talking, from the outside the group saw her face, it was horror and surprise at the same time.
The rest decided to go in as well to check up on the enforcer, as they were entering into the next room they saw it. In front of them the big pile of dismembered bodies dripping blood onto the ground.
¨This… this…¨ Marie was shocked, the words were stuck at her throat.
¨Please tell me Liz is not there…¨ Claire whispered, tears were flowing from her eyes as she ran towards the pile looking everywhere, checking if one of the bodies was from her sister
¨Claire stop. She is not there¨ Katarina grabbed her Summoner and dragged her away from the dead corpses.
However the Chain Warden got closer to the dead bodies, a grin on his face, the champion raised his lantern which floated in front of him, suddenly green orbs were coming from the bodies and moved at a quick pace entering into Thresh's lantern. At their side a beep noise was heard, as they turned they saw the doors from the elevator opening, it was clean, no dead bodies or anyone inside. It was big enough to fit a huge amount of people.
¨Don't know 'bout you but, this looks like a trap¨ Vi huffed looking back at the pile blocking the stairs. Once she looked back at the elevator Claire was the first one to hop in ¨Hey, what did I just say?¨
The Summoner wiped the tears from her face ¨I don't care! If my sister is up there then I'll go, with or without you¨
None of them said anything, the only sounds came from the elevator and the blood dropping from the dead bodies, as the doors were closing but a hand blocked them.
¨We won't let you go there alone. Besides if you don't return then no one will be able to stop the Void right?¨ Katarina smiled entering into the elevator, behind them the other champions followed her leaving the blonde alone outside.
´I don't know why… but something tells me your sister is not here¨ Marie stepped out but Thresh's hook grabbed her arm dragging the blonde to the inside.
¨Must I remind you the pact you made with this people? Or should I remind you what's at stake?¨ The Chain Warden whispered into her ear followed by a slight laugh from him.
The elevator was going up, the group was reading their weapons for anything that could appear once the doors opened. They kept rising, until the metal box stopped at the fifth floor, however the doors were still closed. On top of the elevator there was a speaker that started to emit some static sounds until it got clearer after a few seconds.
¨Is this thing on?¨ The voice of a man was heard from the speaker.
¨It IS on you idiot!¨ Another voice came from the speaker, it was similar to the first one but with a different tone, a more crazed one.
¨SHUT UP!¨ The first voice coughed clearing his throat ¨Alright, I guess the crystal was right about someone backstabbing me, thought it would've been nice if it told me who was it, instead of having to kill all of my men¨
¨You're the man with the rooster mask right?´ Claire talked at the speaker, however she didn't know whether they might be hearing her.
¨She knows! She knows! Kill her!¨ The crazed voice yelled.
¨In due time¨ The sane voice spoke away from the microphone before turning again to the group ¨That's correct, while you can refer to me as a rooster, my people called me Richard. Now, I always thought that my finale would be more… dramatic. But not everyone can choose how to die¨
¨We are looking for a little girl and we know you have her. Give us the girl and your crimes shall be wiped. You will leave and we won't see each other again¨ Caitlyn tried to persuade Richard using her cop skills, although that would be easier if they had some eye contact.
¨Oh! So I guess now I know who she belongs to. But I'm afraid your sister is no longer here, so in theory, your expedition was a complete failure, even before getting to the most important part!¨ The sane man chuckled as he stepped away from the microphone as if he was speaking to someone else.
¨Then you must know where she is¨ Leona talked to the speaker pointer her sword at it.
¨I don't. The only thing I know is that a weird looking guy took her somewhere through a... I can't describe what that was¨
¨A portal! A portal! The glowing eyed used a portal¨ The crazed man added after Richard's words
¨So Ralzith took her to the Void? This are not good news¨ Caitlyn whispered, walking from side to side trying to think about a new plan.
¨Yeah, a portal, whatever. Thing is you might get bored if you go back to your houses so we prepared some attractions for you¨ Richard said, on the background the sound of a keyboard being used could be heard, then a new beep was heard from the inside of the elevator ¨I always thought that the first impressions are the most important ones, my friend thinks the same so I let her rig the elevator with a special toy¨ The beeping was going faster each second it passed, the doors from the metal box were slowly opening but the gap was not big enough for any member of the group to go through.
¨We must get out!¨ Claire yelled trying to make the gap bigger using her hands.
¨I like this first impressions, they are quite explosive!¨ The crazed voice again ringing on their ears.
The Summoner tried to open the doors even more but they weren't moving any faster, her strength was not enough. The girl fell to the ground and saw that both elevator doors were now completely open thanks to a pair of metal gauntlets, the enforcer picked up Claire and helped the rest to get of the elevator, as soon as it got emptied the bomb that was on top of it exploded making the box fall down crashing onto the first floor.
As they looked forward, the floor was completely dark, the windows were boarded or just closed so there wasn't any source of light coming from the outside. Even with all the darkness surrounding them, they could see that there was nothing around except the broken elevator shaft behind them, at their left a set of double doors that led to the stairs and to the right there was a big crystal box, from the inside there was a bed, a small fridge, a TV at the side of the bed and on the other end of the box a man sitting in a chair looking at a bunch of monitors, at his right side the infamous black crystal emanating energy from it and at his left the rooster mask resting on the desk.
¨Very good! I'm sure you liked that warm-up because this party ain't over. Trust me¨ Richard kept focusing onto the computer not paying attention to the Summoners and champions outside of the box ¨Before we proceed I'd like to tell you that this very crystal box is a panic room, meant to protect anyone from any dangers that could be on the outside. So that means: no bullets, no explosions, no hard hitting with those gauntlets. You can guess the rest…¨
Katarina just got closer to the box placing her hand on the crystal walls, she turned her head to the group with a smile on her face ¨This is going to be easier than It seems¨ The assassin stood there but nothing happened, looking at her sides Katarina stepped away from the box ¨I… I don't understand¨ She looked at her hands with an astonished look.
¨The girl think she can do anything but that's just STUPID!¨ The man sitting inside of the panic room spoke with the same voice as the crazed guy from the elevator, he grabbed the mask from the side and put it on, then he raised his hand close to the crystal and made it float towards his hand.
¨What happened?¨ Claire asked her champion but she seemed not to react at the Summoner's question.
¨Allow me¨ Both Kat and Claire turned at the criminal who was now standing from the inside of the room ¨While the panic room protects me from almost anything. I imagined that if someone tried to use that some sort of magical powers I would be defenseless. That's where this crystal comes in, while I don't know how it works exactly but none of the mumbo jumbo shit you use works¨ Richard started to move from one side to the other of the room, still keeping eye contact with the group.
¨We have to do something!¨ Marie cried out.
¨While you're at it, I thought it would be nice idea to continue with this meeting of ours¨ After Richard's words some knocking sounds came from the door behind the group ¨I guess she doesn't need to be presented, right?¨ The group turned, preparing themselves for the surprise.
The double doors opened showing the already known Zaunite champion, Vi locked her eyes onto her, ready to attack her as soon as she gets the chance. She was slowly clapping her hands, with the crazy grin on her face, the pink eyes were going from left to right looking at every person in front of her, she stopped just a few meters away from the Summoners and champions.
¨It is nice seeing you all again. Although I remember you were more last time. Oh don't tell me the two boys were too afraid to come. I was hoping the blondie would accept my kiss¨ jinx placed her hands on her hips and tilted her head looking with a smirk on her face.
¨Your what?!¨ Caitlyn yelled in surprise as she was aiming her rifle at the Loose Cannon's head.
¨Oh, wait. Is he your boyfriend?¨ She laughed a top of her lungs ¨How can he like a person like you? I mean, all you do is boring paperwork and cop things like: Oh let's catch Jinx with my stupid partner¨ The Zaunite mocked at the two officers, especially at the last part where she tried to imitate Caitlyn's voice.
¨That's it. You're dead!¨ Vi shouted at girl with the ponytails as she tried to land a blow at her, but the Zaunite managed to avoid it.
¨Catch me if you can!¨ Jinx stuck out her tongue at the officers as she to the upper floor through the stairs.
¨This time it's my turn to get you¨ Vi whispered to herself and started to run behind the Loose Cannon, her partner followed from behind. Before the rest of the group could follow them the double doors closed in front of them.
¨There is still more fun for… YOU!¨ Richard spoke with the insane voice doing some crazy movements with his body as if he couldn't control it. The crystal started to glow with a mixture of black and purple colors channeling a lot of energy ¨There is someone else I want to present to you¨ The crazed voice was still there but the weird movements stopped as soon as the crystal unleashed all of the energy it was storing.
This wave of Void energy went through the walls of the panic room and through the Summoners and champions, however it did not hurt them physically, but a deafening sound stuck into their ears making them kneel due to the pain in them. As the wave kept expanding it left building and the sound stopped as well.
¨What happened? We're… ok?¨ Claire stood up helping Katarina and Leona get back up.
¨Sadly, I'm occupied. But worry not!¨ Richard's normal voice spoke to the group as he was turning away back to the computer ¨Our guest is coming soon and I'm pretty sure you'd like to stand up for her arrival¨
¨Her?¨ Marie asked with a confused look on her face.
As the criminal sat in his chair the group was looking everywhere but they couldn't find what Richard was talking about. That energy wave got a response and it was coming on its way at a very rapid pace.
¨No… not her…¨ Leona muttered, almost to herself but the rest were able to hear her.
¨Who is her? Leona, what is going on?¨ Claire turned towards the Radiant dawn who was raising her shield and preparing the sword for a fight.
The brown haired Summoner took a step towards Leona but stopped afterwards, the ground started to shake briefly and it became even more powerful the more time, something was coming. As the thing was getting closer the group readied up their weapons, aiming at the walls, the elevator shaft and the stairs. Then, it was heard. A big and powerful screech that penetrated into the group's ears, the sound was similar to the one from the crystal so it only meant one thing:
It was something from the Void.

So since he is like an enemy of Piltover champions and had some crush on Jinx before the insanity kicked in. It gives me a lot of ides to add him in a future chapter/story
Back onto the story:
So I thought it would be better to cut this chapter into two parts. Next one will probably be all the fighting stuff from both Cait/Vi and Claire/Marie.
Here's a fun fact for all of you peeps: From all of the champions that I mentioned in both stories so far (Summoning Magic and Meeting the Winter's wrath) only 3 of them are part of my champion pool/use constantly.

I really like your story and i enjoy reading it. Its very well written and very nicely structured. You have a great story-line, thats easy to follow and make sense of. You have a little bit of apelling issues but that is so fine its understandable anyway. I find it a bit annoying that you have -what to call it- a "hair fetish" for an example i find it annoying to remember the hair colors like "the blond summoner"/matt but its ok tho. 5.8 stars out of 6 :)
Gotta admit, sometimes my mind gets blocked and I get a hard time when trying to identify who is speaking and to who. I think this is a reminder for my future self on not to make a story involving so many characters. Other than that thanks for the score :)
