WRITER'S BLOCK I CURSE YOU!

(February 22nd 2015 – 10:20 AM – Safehouse, New York, Earth)

The ground kept shaking with more intensity every second, the champions were already prepared for the incoming threat while the Summoners were still trying to keep stable. The screech was heard again, this time it came from the first floor destroying everything that was in its path but it seemed to stop, not only the sounds from the creature's movement, but also the ground stopped shaking allowing the champions and Summoners to get ready.

¨Was that it?¨ Marie dropped her guard, relieved after nothing showed up started to walk towards the double doors where Vi and Caitlyn went through to catch Jinx.

¨No, she doesn't know we're here. Unless one of us starts moving¨ Katarina stayed in her position but when she turned her head, she saw that the blonde was moving towards the doors ¨Marie, don't move any further¨

The Summoner did as told and stopped before reaching the door's handle but it was already too late. The Void creature was moving on the first floor but in order to get them it has to go through the pile of dead bodies near the stairs, however this monster was clever and found another way using the elevator shaft. The sound of its claws scratching the walls were terrifying, especially since its ascent was almost instant.

And there she was, the queen of the Xer'Sai was coming out of the shaft ready to attack the group, the beast opened its maw and screamed at the people in front of her but the champions did not faltered. The mixture of blue and purple armor surrounded her body and it was sturdy enough to withstand most of the damage that Rek'Sai will receive.

¨What should we do now?¨ Claire grabbed the handgun she was carrying and pointed it at the Voidborn.

¨The beast is blind¨ Thresh spoke from behind starting to spin his hook ¨If you run she won't stop until you are dead¨

¨She won't be able to handle the five of us¨ Katarina was ready to jump onto her target but then something was heard behind them, that something was a portal being opened.

¨Your affirmation is wrong Miss Du Coteau, your numbers do not reflect the results of the battle¨ The echoing voice from the floating eye was mocking at the redhead with his intelligence, however he was not alone, at Vel'Koz's side the Voidreaver and the Mouth of the Abyss were standing fiercely.

¨Nick… I need you¨ Leona whispered to herself looking at the creatures that were approaching.

The two cops were ascending through the stairs trying to follow the Loose Cannon who was laughing at them from a floor above. The double doors closed before Vi and Caitlyn could catch her, luckily it wasn't locked so the two went through, the floor in which they arrived was a big hallway with many doors facing each other.

¨Where am I now? Maybe I'm in the room, in the left, or maybe in the right. Oh, and don't think on going back with your friends, until this game of Hide n' Seek is over the doors will remain closed. So good luck!¨ The voice from Jinx was heard in the entire floor but it only made the enforcer become even more angry.

¨Why do you keep running? Is it because you are afraid to fight?¨ Vi mocked at the voice but it just kept laughing ¨Ok Cupcake, any idea where she might be?¨

¨Hard to tell, all the doors look the same. We should check each one, if she likes to play games then I guess we'll have to play along¨ Caitlyn moved to the first door to the right while Vi did the same to the one on her left ¨Ready? One… two… Three!¨ They both opened their doors just to find that there were explosives that got triggered as soon as pushed it.

Both champions managed to get behind the wall and avoid getting hurt by the explosions which caused Jinx to laugh again ¨Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to tell you that only one door is correct, the rest is full of explosives. What's the fun thing? That they don't trigger unless you fully open the door so no cheating!¨

¨Once we get her, no matter what I'll break her neck¨ Vi closed one of her hands and punched the wall of an already exploded room leaving a big hole in it.

¨We can't do that! As law enforcers, our job is to put her behind bars. We still have to follow the rules¨ Caitlyn put a hand on Vi's shoulder but the latter turned violently making the sheriff to step back.

¨You don't understand. Jinx has been messing with us for how long? She caused a lot of problems in Piltover and now she is doing the same in this world. Unless we put an end to 'er, there is no way she will stop!¨ Vi was furious, her mind was focused only on the Loose Cannon.

¨You don't have a way to be stopped! Ever since Jinx appeared in the city you always talked about: When are we going after her? or Do you know where she might be hiding?¨ Caitlyn shouted at her partner who was already moving towards the next door ¨Vi, I'm talking to you! You need to control yourself. Right now!¨

Before opening the door Vi slowly turned her head at the sheriff, anger could be seen in her eyes ¨I would do it if you weren't giving me orders every-fucking-time!¨ The enforcer now fully turned towards her ¨You are actin' as if you were my boss!¨

¨I AM your boss! I decided to ignore all of your crimes if you joined the police force¨

¨No, we are partners, we are a team. And a team works together¨ Vi looked as if she was going to punch Caitlyn but she tried to resist.

¨Why are you wasting your time fighting at each other? I thought this game was about catching me!¨ Jinx's voice echoed through the hallway.

¨SHUT UP!¨ Vi cried at the voice.

¨I don't understand why we are fighting¨ The sheriff sighed, she already gave up on Vi ´Look, let's find Jinx, and then we'll decide what to do with her¨ Vi nodded but that didn't calm her.

The two officers kept going through all of the doors which contained explosives, luckily none of them were hurt but each one that didn't have Jinx in it just made the enforcer even angrier, the strangest thing was that it was an odd number of doors which reduced both officers to the last one to the right, where Caitlyn was inspecting.

¨Congratulations! You found me! Now please open the door so you can arrest me and turn me in¨ The laughing voice of Jinx that could be heard everywhere in the floor now was behind the last door.

¨This looks like a trap to me¨ Vi said as both officers prepared their tools to capture the criminal ¨Why don't you go out? We already won¨

¨Awww, come on. The winners should go claim their prize. Besides, the more time you spend here the less time you'll have to catch up with your friends. I heard that there are Void monsters down there, don't they know where the brown's sister is?¨

¨Alright, ready or not, here we go¨ Caitlyn kicked at the door while her partner rushed in raising her fist to crush the Loose Cannon.

However the only thing they found was a small table with a speaker on top of it, no sign of Jinx. When both officers stepped into the room the criminal's laugh was heard again coming from the artifact on the table, Vi couldn't hold herself and smashed the speaker and the table screaming in anger.

¨She did it again! How can she be two steps ahead of us? She's just a…a… kid who doesn't do anything else but play pranks and games with us¨ The enforcer walked back and forth in the room in an effort to calm herself.

¨To be honest, this kid is older than you Fat hands¨ Both officers turned and saw that at the other side of the door the cyan haired champion waving one of her ponytails as she was leaning on a wall.

¨Jinx, we won at your game. Hereby you are now under arrest for committing a lot of crimes against the public peace and the people of Piltover¨ Caitlyn pulled a pair of handcuffs from her pocket ¨If you decide to escape once again your sentence will be even more-¨ The Sheriff couldn't finish since Vi pushed her away while charging at Jinx who just ran away to the stairs.

Caitlyn fell to the ground due to the enforcer's finesse and hear a sound coming from the floor below, she put her ear closer to the ground and noticed that there was a beeping downstairs, suddenly the entrance to the room got closed by a metallic door that came from above.

Back on the staircase, Jinx was directing the piltovian to the roof where a huge rocket was ready to fly away from New York, when the enforcer arrived the Loose Cannon was almost ready to jump on it.

¨Oh Fat Hands, I thought those metallic fists of yours were good enough to catch me but it seems they aren't!¨ Jinx shouted at Vi while climbing onto the rocket.

¨This is it fuck head! You are coming back with us and receive a good 'ol treatment from Piltover's Finest¨ The brown haired champion started to run towards the rocket but halted as soon as she saw that Jinx pulled out a small detonator from her bra ¨Even if you blow this roof I will take you down!¨

¨Oh but this little toy is not for you. Here's another game for you: If I press this button, Hat Lady will get injured by the explosives on the floor beneath her, however you'll finally manage to catch me¨ Jinx was playing with the detonator caressing the button on top of it with her thumb ¨The other way is, I leave this place, you'll be able to rescue Hat Lady and we all live happily!¨ She made her typical crazy laugh.

Vi was cornered, the only thing she ever wanted was to catch Jinx after so many time, but now Caitlyn's life was at risk and the only way to save her was to give up on the Loose Cannon. It was a stupid game, yet both options meant a grave defeat for her ¨You win, I'll let you go¨ Vi fell on her legs, giving up her chase.

Jinx was surprised, she knew that would be the enforcer's answer but she was not expecting her to give up that easily, the Loose Cannon smiles once again ¨I would've expected so much from you. I'm sure we'll meet once again soon. Oh, by the way, Hat Lady needs you, you better run¨

Vi looked at Jinx dumbfounded ¨Run? What are you-¨ Before she could finish Jinx pressed the button from the detonator and dropped it from her hand making it fall to the ground and break into pieces ¨YOU… PIECE OF…¨

¨I'll see you soon! Make sure to tell your friends that I said hello¨ Jinx ended up laughing as the rocket flew away leaving a trail of smoke behind it.

Vi was now under heavy pressure again, Caitlyn would die if she wasn't fast enough, every step counted towards the salvation of her friend. As soon as she got to the right floor, Vi rushed to the last door and tried to open it but it was completely locked, from the inside she could hear Cait trying to break the door using her rifle but she didn't have the enough strength to do it.

¨Cupcake! Stay away from the door¨ The enforcer shouted at her partner but the latter was focused on getting out of there so she didn't listen to her.

Vi charged her fists and started to punch the metallic door, even with her enormous strength from the gauntlets the door got barely scratched, the time was running out and so Caitlyn's chances of survival. The beeping from the inside stopped and emitted a different sound that triggered the explosives from below breaking the ground in which Caitlyn was standing, she screamed as she was falling down through the hole created by the explosion.

The Void creatures were advancing towards the group who grouped in the middle of the room, even though they moved, Rek'Sai didn't attacked just yet, she was waiting for the rest of the Voidborns to attack.

¨We defeated them once, this shouldn't be that hard¨ Claire muttered while pointing her gun at Kog'maw.

¨Yeah, you defeated them back in the mall. Still it's almost a one on one battle, and I doubt your friends upstairs will come here¨ Richard spoke from the panic room, however he was still looking at the computer and the crystal floating at his side.

Kha'Zix decided to start the battle by leaping at them, Leona raised her shield stopping the Voidreaver but caused the Radiant Dawn to stagger after the successful block. Katarina on the other hand decided for an offensive approach and started to run towards the burrower who reacted after the redhead's movement, from behind Claire was now shooting at Rek'Sai but the armor from her back reflected the bullets.

Thresh and Marie were facing Vel'Koz and Kog'maw, while the big eye was just looking at them, the Mouth of the Abyss started to spit at the first two, however they managed to dodge every projectile from Kog'Maw allowing Thresh to throw her hook at one of the Voidborn's leg dragging him.

¨An impressive display Chain Warden, yet I am afraid you are not allowed to hurt those of my kind¨ Vel'Koz spoke to the two of them as used his Tectonic Disruption that landed below Thresh and Marie causing them to slightly fly in the air before touching the ground, this skill released Kog'Maw from the champion's hook.

Leona stood up facing the Kha'Zix once again, in the game it was impossible for her to beat the Voidreaver alone, but this time, outside of the Rift where death is permanent, she cannot afford the risk of getting killed because if that happens her friends would suffer the same outcome. Kha leaped at her once again but the Radiant Dawn managed to dodge it just in time for a counter attack, her shield started to brighten up and used it to hit the monster in the head stunning him.

Meanwhile Claire and her champion were struggling to keep the queen of the Xer'Sai at bay, while the Summoner tried to line up her shots, Katarina used her Shunpo to jump onto the beast's back and started to stab her in the junction between the body and the arm that was without any type of armor, however even if the redhead used all of her strength that part was not getting damaged and it only caused Rek'Sai to become even more furious at them. The burrower started to shake in an attempt to make Katarina fall but she used her Shunpo once again to go back to Claire's side.

¨How can that thing resist everything?! Was she like that during the Rift?¨ Claire was scared, while they managed to beat Kha'Zix and Kog'maw in the past, Rek'Sai and Vel'Koz were giving hard times to the group.

¨She was worse than now¨ Kat pulled out another dagger from her back and offered it to her Summoner who was surprised ¨Drop that weapon of yours and use one that will actually hurt her¨

¨I can barely use a knife without cutting myself and you want me to use one of yours?!¨ The Summoner cried out but that just made the noxian smile.

¨You sound like me when I was younger¨ Katarina chuckled ¨You and I are not so different after all. We even share the same eye color now!¨

Claire frowned and accepted the dagger, they both prepared for Rek'Sai to rush towards them which didn't take long. The burrower ran (or crawled, hard to tell when talking about Voidborns) towards the duo who used Shunpo just to appear on the back of the beast. Under them there was a small opening that was not protected by her body armor.

¨You think this is going to work?¨ Claire was already aiming the dagger towards the weak spot.

¨I'm open for suggestions¨ The redhead yelled but her Summoner did not have any other idea.

They both stabbed Rek'Sai in the weak spot, she seemed to notice the pain but it did not stop her, the Voidborn started to shake trying to make the duo fall from her back, Katarina managed to jump off but Claire couldn't get away and fell at the side of the beast. Using this an advantage the queen used her claws to trap the Summoner underneath.

The Radiant Dawn was the only one winning, or at least she wasn't losing since she didn't have that much power to defeat the Voidreaver. Kha'Zix leaped again at Leona but then again she stopped him with her shield but the beast kept attacking the shield with his claws until he heard a sound coming from the panic room. Everyone turned their heads at the room where the rooster was and noticed that the ceiling was cracking, Richard noticed it too as he stepped away from the computer with the crystal in his hand.

¨What…¨ Leona whispered and saw that the crack shattered the ceiling dropping a lot of debris on the room, Richard managed to get out with the magic from the crystal allowing him to teleport outside where the battle was still going on. On top of the debris a figure was lying there motionless, once the dust disappeared the group could identify that figure as Caitlyn, her body with a few open injuries but none of them were too severe, at least from where they could see.

¨Caitlyn, can you hear me?¨ Claire shouted at the sheriff but she wasn't moving.

Claire tried to escape from Rek'Sai's grasp but the burrower nailed one of her claws into the Summoner's shoulder making her scream in pain. Leona on the other hand pushed the Voidreaver again giving her enough time to think. Thresh and Marie were struggling against Vel'Koz and Kog'Maw while Katarina and Claire were not able to hold Rek'Sai much longer. Hopefully the double doors that led to the staircase were blasted open by an explosion, behind them Vi, Nick, Matt and a couple of Yordles were standing there ready to fight.

¨Where is she?¨ Vi shouted looking around until she found her partner laying over the debris where the panic room used to be, however Kha'Zix arrived before her guarding the unconscious sheriff.

¨Your friend won't survive, thus she must be consumed in order for others to adapt¨ The Voidborn opened his mouth, getting closer to Caitlyn.

¨Stay away from MY Cupcake you shit-beast!¨ Vi aimed one of her gauntlets where a red laser came out and was pointed at Kha'Zix, it took a few seconds before the light disappeared for the enforcer to rush at full speed using her Assault and Battery skill onto the Voidborn. She grabbed the beast and knocked him up into the air, as he was falling Vi jumped and hit Kha's head just to get crushed into the ground.

¨Remind me to pick her more often in the future¨ Matt whispered at Nick but this one ran at the side of Leona, the Yordles also ran but they went towards the Shadow Isles duo, without nothing else to do went towards Kat who was still struggling to free her Summoner from the burrower's claws.

¨Nice hair pinkie¨ Katarina mocked at the Summoner who huffed at her, the two of them were now facing the burrower who was crushing Claire under Rek'Sai's claws.

¨What's the plan?¨

¨Use your Summoner powers, maybe that will help¨ Katarina grabbed a few knives from her belt and threw them at the beast so she could focus on the other two. The Voidborn growled at them as she started to head where the redhead was releasing the injured Claire, the noxian assassin used Shunpo to get behind her allowing Matt to use his powers ¨Matt, ignite her or something!¨

The now pink haired Summoner tried to focus onto the queen but her screams wouldn't let him do it, instead he felt something hitting his foot, when he looked down he saw a pistol that Claire slid to him, Matt kneeled grabbing the handgun but when he looked up Rek'Sai was now crawling towards him.

¨Shoot him!¨ Claire shouted in pain and it took almost no time for the other Summoner to react, he aimed at the creature's mouth and shot, the Voidborn ate the projectile but something else happened, Rek'Sai stopped before getting to him and started to screech in pain ¨What? Just like that?¨ Claire was now standing, her injured shoulder still bleeding.

On the other side of the room Thresh and Marie received the help of the Yordles, Tristana threw one of her spiky bombs at the floating eye, however she didn't hit him, instead the bomb got stuck in the ceiling above.

¨You may have two eyes Yordle, but your aiming is not suitable for the kind of job you do¨ Vel'Koz spoke intelligently at the Yordle Gunner as his eye started to glow with the typical purple color.

¨Thanks for the compliment but I think you are not seeing my whole scheme¨ She grinned and pointed at the bomb above Vel'Koz, the glow in his eye turned off and he saw that the bomb was about to explode. He didn't have the enough time to move so when the spiky explosive detonated the ceiling crumbled rendering him unable to do anything else.

On the side Teemo dodged the spits thrown by Kog'Maw thanks to his speed, he grabbed from a small bag a dart which had some sort of black liquid inside, he loaded it up onto his blowgun and shot at the Mouth of the Abyss. For a few seconds he stood still but then he started to shake and spit into every direction, missing the four of them. Using this as an opportunity Thresh hooked Kog'Maw again and dragged him, Marie aimed her pistol at the belly of the monster but the blonde's aim was not perfect.

The blind effect dissipated from Kog but he couldn't get back up since her feet were too small ¨Isn't that cute? He is like a turtle who needs help¨ Marie smiled at the downed Mouth of the Abyss.

Both group joined in the middle of the room where Leona and Nick were talking. Vi was carrying Caitlyn in her arms, Matt got closer to the piltovians with a worried expression in his face.

¨Is she…¨

¨No, she has some wounds but nothing I can not treat¨ Vi's voice was almost turned off, her cheeks were reflecting the light due to the tears coming from her eyes ¨Let's go. She needs to go back home¨

¨Not just yet, I still need more answers¨ Claire muttered while everyone turned to see Richard on a corner holding the crystal in front of him as if it was a weapon.

The group surrounded the master criminal denying any way out of there. Before he could do anything a shot was heard, the bullet came from Matt's gun and hit Richard's leg making him fall to the ground and dropping the crystal allowing Nick to grab it before the former could.

¨Now I want to ask you this: WHERE IS MY SISTER?¨ Claire was furious, even though the rooster gave her some answer she needed to be sure he wasn't lying.

¨I already told you. I don't know, some weird guy took her through a portal¨ Blood was pouring out from the criminal's leg, he wasn't going anywhere now.

¨Describe him. NOW!¨

¨The eyes, the glowing was weird¨ This time it was Richard's insane voice that was speaking ¨He was not from this world, he was… OUTSIDE¨ He started to shake.

¨He is just saying the same things over and over again. We are done here¨ Katarina turned looking at the place where the double doors used to be.

¨He might know something else, maybe-¨

¨WE ARE DONE¨ Katarina cut her Summoner with her imposing cry ¨I've interrogated enough people to know when they don't know anything else. We'll have to get Ralzith as he is the one that knows more about this¨ Claire nodded slowly, even though she didn't like the idea but it was the right thing at the time.

Before leaving the group looked at the Void champions, all of them were starting to be transported to the Void through their portals except for Kha'Zix which wasn't by the debris pile where Vi beat him up.

¨So what now?¨ Nick asked looking at his friends who were still looking at the Void champions disappear.

¨We go back to our homes, think of a strategy. I don't know, I just wanna get out of here¨ Matt was worried about Caitlyn and Vi, especially the sheriff since she was unconscious.

¨Remember mister Summoner, you'll have to transport us back to Valoran¨ The high pitched voice from Teemo was heard in the room.

¨I will, just… my mind is in another place right now and I need to-¨

¨You need to…?¨ Tristana was the one who asked this time, but no response came from the Summoner, when she turned she gasped at what she saw.

They all looked at Nick and opened their eyes, but not in amazement, it was surprise, a purple claw was coming from his chest that was now pouring out blood, they looked at the source of it and saw that behind him Kha'Zix was standing with a grin on his heavily injured face.

¨One… by… one¨ He whispered as a portal started to dematerialize him until he disappeared, Nick fell to the ground, he was speechless and started to shake, his body was becoming cold as the death started to embrace him. The group were now around him, their expressions in awe as they saw in front of their eyes the life of a friend slowly disappearing.

Leona hugged him, tears flowing from her eyes. For Nick time was going slowly, the tears from the Radiant Dawn felt on his face, the vision soon became blurry and the only thing that could be heard was just Leona's voice.

¨Nick, don't do this to me. Don't leave me¨

I will repeat again: SCREW YOU WRITER'S BLOCK. Been a rough week in terms of writing, no ideas came to my mind, exams going here and there. Thanks again to all of the readers in both stories, hope you enjoy this new chapter.

Will take this weekend to relax and think of new ideas for the next chapters. Sadly Summoning Magic will have to end someday but that doesn't mean I will end up writing (maybe I can get creative and write about other games). In the meantime I'll stick to League.

Yup, someone is. Although not the expected resuult :)

I'm closing this up with a fun fact of mine: It took me almost 20 chapters (total) and 10+ years of studying english to know that blond is male while blonde female.
